Each year when I pull together my January Beauty Favorites they are mainly about ease of use. Because IMATS LA has been in January the past few years most of my products are geared towards travel! This year, however, I spent half my month there & nearly half my January back here at home. Sick as a dog. Like so sick. It was awful. So prepare yourself for a mix of travel-friendly items & I’m-so-sick-why-is-this-happening products as well! [Read more…]

My Sleek Blush by 3 Palettes with Swatches & Reviews!
This is a post that has been quite anticipated! Sleek came on my radar quite awhile ago- long before their shipping became more affordable & before they jumped on Amazon. While I initially was drawn to the eyeshadow palettes which I’ll be reviewing later on…these blush trios are heavy hitters. You may have caught my review of the Sleek Face Form Countouring Trio then you already know I like the formula of the face products. What you didn’t get to see was how absolutely STUNNING some of my favorite Sleek blush shades are…so I’m thrilled to show them to you today! [Read more…]

Sleek Face Form Contouring & Blush Palette in Light Swatches, Review, & Demo
In anticipation of travel, I’ve been trying to sift through new & standby products for more compact face options. I recently made a huge Sleek order & picked up a lot of palettes…including the one I want to chat about today!

One of the items I most wanted to try was the Sleek Face Form Contouring & Blush Palette in Light. I had seen someone say that the shade “Fair” had a blush that barely showed up so “Light” was the next option for my pale skin. [Read more…]
Maybelline Master Hi-Light Blushes & Bronzers Full Swatches & Review
Drugstore crazes come in waves & often I am the first to run out & grab new items. Maybelline has released some of my favorites- I have pages & pages of reviews. Because I bought all of this line, I actually decided to take a long time to get my thoughts together. & I have lots of opinions!
I bought it. Affiliate links. The Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered products fall into either the blush or bronzer category. I believe there have been a few limited edition releases but there are 6 total in the permanent range. Two of these are bronzers while the other four are blushes. They are all housed in the same compacts & none are all that similar. [Read more…]
My Favorite Lipstick for Over 5 Years & Other Favorites
Today I wanted to take a break from holiday posts just for a moment to bring in a post I’ve had waiting in the wings since before I even cut my hair. I took these photos when I realized I was using some of my favorite products in my collection & realized this would probably be helpful to share. My collection is pretty vast so the go-to items are really important to me. & some have been around for ages. I just love favorites don’t you?
PR Sample. I bought it. Affiliate links.Have you ever picked up a lipstick & thought “I could wear this with everything…”? It is rare for me. I really do switch out lip colors seasonally & quite often so it is a pretty big deal. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile now then you likely know I grew up raiding my mother’s Lancome stash. It was a pretty big deal. Although I know for a fact I’ve been using this lipstick for 5 years at a minimum…it is likely more like 10. I think it was 3-5 years ago that my mom & I randomly started a conversation talking about our favorite purse lipstick…& it was the same one. The one I’m wearing above is Lancome Color Design Lipstick in Love It! which is probably the best thing ever. I mean- that name? Was it not meant to be a favorite? This is the perfect, creamy pink & you’ll find it in my purse at all times. [Read more…]
Covergirl #GirlsCan Makeup Look & Giveaway!

When Covergirl reached out to me about the #GirlsCan campaign I was amped. Empowerment? Breaking down barriers? Dress for Success donations? Check, check & CHECK! I am a huge fan of Dress for Success as I’ve had friends be able to be their best professional selves with their help. Covergirl will be donating $50,000 but if you want to win a $25 Walmart gift card from Covergirl keep reading & check out my eye look!
I’ve been using Covergirl products for…forever it seems like. Here I’m sharing some completely new ones to me to spice things up a bit. I also did an easy look that can translate into fall easily. & a lip color that is an instant new favorite.

The Covergirl Eye Enhancers Quad of eyeshadows in Sugar Coated is unlike any other shade selection I own from the drugstore- which is of course why it was the first one I grabbed. From left to right we have a warm honey neutral, softened sky blue with a touch of golden sheen, cool plum-toned brown, & a green-toned blackened teal. All of these shade contain shimmer but with a small array of neutral mattes it gives you some lovely options.

I haven’t tried a Covergirl blush in a long time so I opted for an old favorite- the Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Rock ‘n Rose. The pigmentation is soft & easy to blend so it works great on my fair skin. I actually don’t mine the touch of sheen other- I think it comes off as a healthy glow to further up the value of this rose shade.
I own quite a few Covergirl lipsticks but Euphoria has been on my list for some time! My local stores are always sold out but I snapped it up last time I was at Walmart! This is a pink-toned berry shade. It has an underlying brightness but is still so seasonally appropriate. Isn’t this color pretty?
Last up is the only Covergirl mascara i haven’t tried- Covergirl All-in-One Professional Mascara in Very Black. I’ll admit my love for Covergirl mascaras to random strangers but I love a more dramatic lash. If you like more natural looking lashes then this is quite nice & I think with some drying out it would layer up nicely. You can find the Covergirl #GirlsCan displays in the cosmetics section at Walmart for both the Profession & the Flamed Out Mascara.

Covergirl has graciously offered my readers a $25 Walmart Gift Card! Please enter using the rafflecopter widget below. This giveaway is open to US residents only. Please leave me any comments below telling me how you’ve turned a “can’t” into a “can” because I’d love to read them! Thanks so much for being awesome readers & good luck!
Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Tin Palette for Holiday 2014 Swatches & Review
Benefit is known for a lot of things but the first that pops into my mind are blushes. Their boxed blushes are both iconic & super cute- like a small girly accessory. I steered clear of the boxed blushes for a long time until my husband bought me Benefit’s Rockateur & I totally fell in love. I recently picked up two more blushes that I will review soon but that won’t be half as exciting as this palette. If you love cute packaging & want more bang for your buck then Benefit’s Cheeky Sweet Spot Palette which has been released for Holiday 2014 is definitely a must have. With 5 permanent blushes, a bronzer, a cream highlighter, a brush, & an adorable tin…well it is a steal. [Read more…]
Stila Not So Nude Palette Swatches, Review + Favorite Look
Confession time… I bought the Stila Not So Nude Palette within a set called the Stila Natural Born Bombshell Set…which is unfortunately no longer available. I know I’m super late to this review & shame on me! BUT the excellent thing about this set is that everything inside is still available…so take that as you will! I love Stila products normally so when I found the photos I thought were lost on a missing card I knew I wanted to share ASAP! Although this is a neutral palette that is great for year round- this is definitely going to get use from me this fall! Keep reading to check it out! [Read more…]
