I picked up this Kryolan Cake Eyeliner awhile back in anticipation of fall. I love green & it seems like the next two months are alllll about the green. If you haven’t used a cake eyeliner before I’ll break it down some more below. Keep reading to see how I’ve been using it!
Basically cake liners look like a shadow but you can use water or a mixing medium on them to create an easy to use liner. I have cake liners in various colors from a few brands but I splurged a bit on Kryolan to test out the quality. First of all, this is a really big pan! Usually my cake liners are smaller than a MAC eyeshadow but this one contains 3.5 grams & is comparable to a Sugarpill eyeshadow size.
I like using a mixing medium (currently I’m using Ben Nye) to make cake liners last longer. I apply it straight to the back of my hand, dab a bit on a liner brush, then swipe the product itself. You might need a bit of practice to get the formula right but once you do this sucker stays put pretty well! It is much denser than an eyeshadow & I don’t recommend trying to use it as one. I love this used as a base as well, very nice!
I’ve been using it this way lately, just a winged eyeliner look. Simple but a bit more fall & fun. I bought mine from Camera Ready Cosmetics & I will likely be looking into buying more. This brand costs a bit more in the cake liner department but it was really smooth & easy to use.
Have you ever used cake eyeliner? Any favorites?
