Have you been trying to figure out what you want for the holidays or into the new year? I can’t be the only one looking to indulge a tad into something more self-care. People kept asking me what I wanted for Christmas but I’d been feeling…meh. Like- hey what do I want while I’m trapped at home safe & sound but also kind of paranoid & definitely anxious? So instead, I made a list of some of the things I’ve acquired recently that have made me genuinely happy. Some are old favorites wrapped into gift sets while others are new & make me smile. Keep reading to check them out!
Eco Lips Holiday Lip Balms
Want something winter-y that you’ll actually use? A lot of my lip products have been sitting sad & alone…but not my lip balms. I’ve been going through them at an alarming rate. Eco Lips makes some of the absolute CLEANEST products I’ve ever tried. Everything is organic but more than that, they don’t use anything that irritates my sensitive skin or is unnecessary. The classic lip balm packaging means they can be tossed around too- perfect in my house with a toddler. Here you’ll see Eco Lips holiday options in Candy Cane, Gingerbread, & Raspberry Truffle but they have a ton of other options as well to check out!
Liza Lash Beauty Sphere Cleanser Jelly Ball
Something purely fun while providing function? This is the the Liza Lash Signature Sphere which can be used on face/body & contains 24k gold flakes. They have a ton of options without the flakes as well separated by sign- I also have the Aries which is scented with rosemary but other signs have scents like lavender, orange, peppermint, geranium & more so if you aren’t into buying via your horoscope then be sure to flip through your options! A jelly ball is something I don’t come across often in the beauty world but whenever I do, they make me feel like a kid & the texture adds something to my morning out of the norm. I prefer to use on morning skin because I use makeup melters at night when removing makeup! The dish is also available on their site- highly recommend as it has built in pegs to drain & last longer for any kind of soap product without being a nuisance to clean.
Tarte Holiday Sets
Every year, a few brands rise right to the top of my recommendations for makeup buys. Sometimes it is because they put together great value packages & other times brands put together something brillanit that I think of as more than just “holiday” forgettable to the rest of the year. This season, Tarte was my top brand for hitting both notes.
The Tartelette™ Give, Gift & Get Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Wardrobe trio is available at both Sephora & ULTA & these are the prettiest, user-friendly palettes I’ve seen them release in some time. I actually plan to include in a separate post because I like these smaller, useable versions so much. Their cheek option isn’t the usual palette this year but the Tarte Blush Authority™ Amazonian Clay Cheek Wardrobe which has three sets of three flip out options including mirrors. Way more travel friendly too! Then the obvious option- their Tarte mascaras at a big value!
Scentworx Amber Driftwood
A throwback that has been updated? If you’re anywhere near my age bracket- you remember body products coming in a full line & a body mist was usually how you chose. The Scentworx line has become a fast favorite as I haven’t been wearing as many strong scents around the home but also because I like the ease of use with my toddler being grabby. You can pick these up from their site but also at Kohl’s which we frequent! I wanted to show the Amber Driftwood especially since normally amber notes are a big no-go for me. Somehow the way they’ve combined it with water elements & woods makes this a surprising hit. Also, the entire line uses essential oils in their products so unlike the body mists you may remember, these aren’t drying at all.
FRESH Gift Sets for Holiday
I still hear a lot about Fresh lip products but I have a few sets here including other items I genuinely look forward to like the Hesperides Grapefruit Bath Shower Gel & the Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Toner. Both are items I like to snag in smaller sizes for travel or sets for a greater value. Another splurge I love from Fresh is the Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask duo– it has dual masks inside & they make my combo skin incredibly soft!
Pick up FRESH sets from Sephora, Nordstrom, & the FRESH website here.
Pixi Travel Gift Sets
Speaking of skincare- how can I not recommend PIXI options? I recommend some of their highest rated products constantly (Hey Pixi Glow Tonic, you’re still absolutely at the top for me!) but sets are the best way to try something new since their options tend to be best sellers! Their tonics should definitely make your list but some of my other favorites from the line are the underrated Fairy Lights glitter eyeshadows, the entire PIXI Milky skincare line (see my full review here), & the Pixi by Petra Collagen Lip Gloss which I did a FULL blog post here on because it is the best clear gloss available in the world!
Snag PIXI products from Target, Kohl’s, ULTA, & the PIXI website here!
Laura Mercier Ballet à Paris Collection
One that sold out but is still available in some stores- this Laura Mercier Holiday Collection gave me all the feels. As a little girl who took her ballet very seriously & her Nutcracker attendance even more so, the vibes here were on pointe. I went there, I make no apologies. The Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Sticks are something I have used for years upon years & still recommend to all ages & makeup journeys. The Laura Mercier Prima Ballerina Mini Eyeshadow Palette that came out with this collection is probably the best “sweet” palette I’ve seen all year. The neutrals are soft but sparkling & the entire vibe is cohesive which can hard to do with softer shades. On another note- the way their press photos showed the colors was off so I know some people were disappointed about that but I actually liked them even better in person. I genuinely hope they come out with some of these colors & textures in a more permanent way so everyone can snag them too.
Purchase Laura Mercier products from ULTA, Sephora, Nordstrom, Macy’s, & of course the Laura Mercier site here.
What have you been splurging on lately? Anything beauty or more home/decor? I’d love to hear about what is making you genuinely smile at the moment!
