Drugstore crazes come in waves & often I am the first to run out & grab new items. Maybelline has released some of my favorites- I have pages & pages of reviews. Because I bought all of this line, I actually decided to take a long time to get my thoughts together. & I have lots of opinions!
I bought it. Affiliate links. The Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered products fall into either the blush or bronzer category. I believe there have been a few limited edition releases but there are 6 total in the permanent range. Two of these are bronzers while the other four are blushes. They are all housed in the same compacts & none are all that similar.
From Maybelline- Each light-boosting blush and bronzer palette has an expert balance of 4 shades + shimmer for a natural glow. Skin goes soft-lit with zero glitz.
On my fair skin I’ve decided there are one bronzer, one highlighter despite it being called a blush, one blush/bronzer combo, & two blushes. Each has a basket weave pattern so you can’t really go for the lightest shades to make other shades highlighters. If you use a small brush maybe you can make it work but I’m just saying it isn’t super easy.
Each compact contains a clear lid on top, the product pan, & a flip-up compartment. Beneath you have a mirror with a brush & an airy bottom with fine holes. They aren’t super heavy but they feel quite sturdy. NONE of these shades are matte altogether but I don’t consider them sparkly- more of a sheen.
Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered Blush in Nude– This is one I consider more of a highlight than a blush. The shades are soft champagnes & soft pinks.
Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered Blush in Coral– The shades here are peaches, orange-toned corals, & champagne.
Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered Blush in Pink Rose– The shades here are white, roses, & pinks.
Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered Blush in Mauve– The shades here are soft bronze, champagne, dark berry, & medium cranberry.
Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered Bronzer in Light Bronze– The shades here are golden white, soft brown, champagne, & rosy pink.
Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered Bronzer in Dark Bronze– The shades here are rich bronze, golden champagne, cranberry, & chocolate brown. I tend to see this more as a bronzer & blush duo because of the cranberry.
Like I said above, I don’t consider these glittery. You don’t see flecks on your skin but instead notice a healthy sheen. Because I’m so fair & honestly don’t think to apply bronzer with shimmer much Light Bronze & Deep Bronze are my two least used. I got these last summer but maybe I’ll get more use out of them next year. Coral was gorgeous for spring & I used Pink Rose quite a bit through spring & summer as well. Nude I tend to add atop blushes like to contour a bit on the tops where I’d normally add highlighter. Mauve might actually be my favorite- I love the cranberry additions for these colder months & it applies beautifully.
You can purchase the Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered Bronzers & Blushes from many stores including ULTA, Target, Walgreens, & more.
Have you tried any of these blushes or bronzers? What blushes are you reach for most lately? What color would you like to try first?
