One of my favorite things about fall is all the new releases. I know what I’m in for generally speaking- vampy lips, dramatic lips, & an endless array of new ideas! Because I pretty much rock vamp lip colors & edgy eye looks year-round…autumn is when everyone else is carrying even more of what I love! I attended a press brunch at the Neiman Marcus at the Fashion Show Mall on the Vegas strip & have lots of new things to report on! [Read more…]

Covergirl #GirlsCan Makeup Look & Giveaway!
When Covergirl reached out to me about the #GirlsCan campaign I was amped. Empowerment? Breaking down barriers? Dress for Success donations? Check, check & CHECK! I am a huge fan of Dress for Success as I’ve had friends be able to be their best professional selves with their help. Covergirl will be donating $50,000 but if you want to win a $25 Walmart gift card from Covergirl keep reading & check out my eye look!
I’ve been using Covergirl products for…forever it seems like. Here I’m sharing some completely new ones to me to spice things up a bit. I also did an easy look that can translate into fall easily. & a lip color that is an instant new favorite.
The Covergirl Eye Enhancers Quad of eyeshadows in Sugar Coated is unlike any other shade selection I own from the drugstore- which is of course why it was the first one I grabbed. From left to right we have a warm honey neutral, softened sky blue with a touch of golden sheen, cool plum-toned brown, & a green-toned blackened teal. All of these shade contain shimmer but with a small array of neutral mattes it gives you some lovely options.
I haven’t tried a Covergirl blush in a long time so I opted for an old favorite- the Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Rock ‘n Rose. The pigmentation is soft & easy to blend so it works great on my fair skin. I actually don’t mine the touch of sheen other- I think it comes off as a healthy glow to further up the value of this rose shade.
I own quite a few Covergirl lipsticks but Euphoria has been on my list for some time! My local stores are always sold out but I snapped it up last time I was at Walmart! This is a pink-toned berry shade. It has an underlying brightness but is still so seasonally appropriate. Isn’t this color pretty?
Last up is the only Covergirl mascara i haven’t tried- Covergirl All-in-One Professional Mascara in Very Black. I’ll admit my love for Covergirl mascaras to random strangers but I love a more dramatic lash. If you like more natural looking lashes then this is quite nice & I think with some drying out it would layer up nicely. You can find the Covergirl #GirlsCan displays in the cosmetics section at Walmart for both the Profession & the Flamed Out Mascara.
Covergirl has graciously offered my readers a $25 Walmart Gift Card! Please enter using the rafflecopter widget below. This giveaway is open to US residents only. Please leave me any comments below telling me how you’ve turned a “can’t” into a “can” because I’d love to read them! Thanks so much for being awesome readers & good luck!

Amazing Gifting Ideas from Get Fresh, Spa Products that Give Back!
If you caught my post called My Top 10 Random Gifting Guide for Holiday 2013 + Giveaway! then you probably got all excited about the Get Fresh products I’ve been prepping to review! I have two sets to show- both of them are amazing gift ideas for year round. I think these hold a special place in my heart because they donate a portion of their proceeds to Military charities that help Wounded Warriors transition successfully back into civilian life. Keep reading to see my thoughts on the Get Fresh Look Better Naked body set in Grapefruit & the Get Fresh Warrior Princess Foot Kit in Blackberry Vanilla & an awesome discount code!
About Get Fresh-
get fresh is a family run business that began proudly serving our customers from our corporate headquarters in Santa Monica, California in the fall of 1997. We are a company that at our core is really in the customer service business; we just happen to sell the best smelling, spa-strength, botanical based products there are!
We work each and every day to make sure that you, our customers, are extremely happy with all of the products that we’ve created and the friendly and knowledgeable service that we provide. At get fresh there is no smoke and mirrors; our products do exactly what we say they’ll do. Your satisfaction and happiness are the most important things to us, and we depend on your trust to keep us going strong.
First let’s talk about the Get Fresh Look Better Naked body set in Grapefruit. You get three products inside an adorable (& definitely reusable!) drawstring bag. The bag itself is super cute & made of kind of a washcloth fabric on the outside & that waterproof bright blue fabric on the inside. It feels nice & durable & has the the words “look better naked” printed on the outside. So cute!
Inside you have three body products- mineral body scrub, body mask, & rich body creme. I love the grapefruit scent for a full body care kit, it is so invigorating & smells so cleanly feminine to me. This set is meant to exfoliate then detoxify then moisturize dull, dry skin. Yes, so perfect for this time of year! The scrub is wonderfully creamy & dreamy but also probably about a medium exfoliation. It isn’t too rough but definitely noticeable. I haven’t used a body mask in absolutely ages so this was a total treat! After the shower I used the body creme which is very rich & sinks into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. Love this set!
Next we have the Get Fresh Warrior Princess Foot Kit in Blackberry Vanilla which comes in a super cute case! I love that both of the “packaging” on these sets are reusable, waste not! You can read about the donation information (this is a photo of the included tag) which is nice to remember. The size of this set is larger than a pencil case in case you were wondering, I know sometimes it is hard to tell! Each tub is 2 oz.
I was nervous about this scent because some vanilla scents are quite artificial but this is fantastic. I absolutely love the somehow sexy but also calming scent combination! This pedicure kit has a sugar foot scrub, intensive cream, & a moisturizing cream. Pictured above you also get a pumice stone! Ah, I am so thrilled with this scent, completely unexpected for a pedicure set!
I hope you found this post helpful, I loved these items & wanted to make sure you knew that while holiday shopping! Speaking of shopping, the great people at Get Fresh have given my readers a 20% off code! Just use code STEPHANIE upon checkout! That’s an awesome value! If you’re opting to give these as gifts don’t forget to talk to the recipient about the awesome charity work Get Fresh does. I always love hearing about that when I get gifts! Obviously this would make a great self-gift too! 😉
Adopt a Shelter Dog Nail Art + My Rescues + Linkup!
For those of you who aren’t aware, I’m a crazy pet person. I love them. We don’t have kids at the moment (or for awhile off) & having pets just make our day so much brighter. October is Adopt A Shelter Dog Awareness month so how could I not participate when invited? With 4 babies from some kind of rescue type situation I was really excited to try my hand (punk full on intended) at some nail art inspired by them! I grew up with lots of different dogs & even some cats but today I wanted to talk about the four currently under our roof!
So first lets talk about my pets! The nails above are without top coat & before major cleanup by the way so the photos below are a bit better. These up close shots prior just came out better to me! I used loads of different polishes so if you want to know about any specific shades, just let me know!
Pointer finger- Gizmo was our first pet together. She was a pretty darn big deal for us newlyweds & has made all of our military moves pretty seamlessly. Honestly, it is probably because we have all the food therefore we have the power. She is definitely food motivated. We got her from a rescue & she has been super mellow ever since. She’s playful but mostly a fabulous napper & gold star eater.
Middle finger- Cobo was our 2nd pet & Ryan needed him for his life. He always wanted a Boxer so when a bunch of Boxer/Shar Pei pups needed homes he came home with us. He provided endless entertainment & is constantly the center of attention. Kind of goofy, extremely loving, & obnoxiously clumsy he is always the star of the show.
Ring finger- Sawyer is our newest pet, only had her for about a month. Ryan found her screaming in our front yard after a big storm. She was tiny so we took her in & fed her. When no one claimed her…it was honestly too late as attachments had formed. Extremely energetic & playful she is the new blood in the house.
Pinkie finger- Zeus was found by a friend who runs a rescue in California wandering the streets with a messed up front leg. Our best guess is part Poodle & part Bichon. I had actually gone over to her house to look at a new Boxer baby she had found when Zeus totally fell in love with me. He was already 4-5 & just as lovey as could be. He is constantly by my side & smiling as poodles often do.
Rather than saying “GO TO YOUR LOCAL SHELTER NOW!” I want you to realize how much love they can bring into your home. Take the time to find a breed that works with your whole family (pet finder has a great way to find out for free here) & who you’ll be able to share your time & love with. If you are interested in a certain breed not found at your local shelter I urge you to look into rescues. You’ll find rescues for about every type of animal looking for a forever home. You can find shelters near you from ASPCA here.

I really hoped you enjoyed the manicure, I had a lot of fun creating it! If you have any furry friends I’d love to hear about them & don’t forget the many other manicures below!
Mint Manicure for Talia Joy with Zoya & Rainbows

I went with Zoya Neely because it is just such a soft, beautiful minty green. I used rainbow laser strands to create a soft, heavenly feel. I imagined it like rainbows coming down. On my pointer is a stripe-ish application of Ocean Mist foil. I topped it with a small bow. I hope she would like it. I’m very sad about this, I’ve followed her for a long time & felt connected.
She was an inspirational young girl & will be very missed. Whenever a person dies of a cancer we are saddened but children strike an especially painful chord. Please feel free to add your mint manicure to the collaboration. Even if you don’t have a blog, post it on twitter & Instagram & use the hashtags #MintManisForTaliaJoy & #TaliasLegacy.
We See Beauty Faye Toogood Collection for MAKE Review & Swatches
We See Beauty has a lovely collection of professional & wild makeup that easily blends into any cosmetic routine (see my first review from We See Beauty here). This review is featuring items from the new Faye Toogood collection. If you are interested in achieving matte, dewy or both on your skin then this is definitely the post for you! There are some definite hits in this collection that I think you’ll love! Keep reading to see some seriously innovative products.
We Se Beauty Faye Toogood Collaboration:
Known for her stark and poetic creations, London-based furniture and interiors designer Faye Toogood turns her eye to makeup, collaborating with artist Ayami Nishimura for the concept collection for MAKE.
Academically trained in the theory and practice of art, Faye collides a pure respect for the past and a self-expressed vulnerability of nature for the New Medieval Collection for MAKE. Sitting in her London studio, Faye shares her fascination with the unexpected destructive qualities of nature, the current flux of our society, and the way natural materials can convey a narrative of hope in color and textures.
Matte Finish Eyeshadows in Sulfur & Warm White- A matte primary vibrant yellow & a matte white with linen undertones. I loved the eyeshadows I reviewed here but these shades are just as gorgeous. I haven’t ever found a matte yellow (or possibly a yellow period) that I like this much. The white also makes a great base for brighter shades. I think maybe an eyeshadow look needs to happen with these two soon!
Custom Finish Effects Duo in Matte/Dew- Using your fingertips, apply peach formula to areas in need of shine control or matte finish, and the pink formula to areas in where you want moisture or a dewy finish. Can be used over makeup, and applied frequently without caking.
This is probably the most innovative summer product to cross my beauty desk in a long time. The ability to easily blend & apply a matte or dewy finish to the face with an ultra thin cream is amazingly easy. If you love both matte & dewy skin, this product is for you.
Make Face Gloss- Brightening and subtly illuminating Face Gloss refreshes tired and dull skin in a vitamin-rich formulation that is colorless, enhances skin appearance, balances and maintains moisture. Perfect for wearing on natural skin or as a soft luster finish over foundation and powder.
For those just looking for a glossy/dewy look, this product will be more your style. With a convenient squeeze tube you have lots of control for application. Applying with your fingertips lightly will help to warm up the product a bit for a perfect finish. You can go subtle or full gloss.
Luminous Lip Gloss in Flesh- A warm salmon pink with a yellow undertone. Beautifully pigmented & gives my lips a flawless look. Really a standup gloss.
Swatches left to right- Custom Finish Matte/Dew, Face Gloss, Luminous Lip Gloss in Flesh, Matte Eyeshadows in Sulfur & Warm White.
You can purchase the We See Beauty Faye Toogood Collection items featured here on the website.
