One of my favorite things about fall is all the new releases. I know what I’m in for generally speaking- vampy lips, dramatic lips, & an endless array of new ideas! Because I pretty much rock vamp lip colors & edgy eye looks year-round…autumn is when everyone else is carrying even more of what I love! I attended a press brunch at the Neiman Marcus at the Fashion Show Mall on the Vegas strip & have lots of new things to report on!
Let me open with a brand that is new to me- Clive Christian. This is a luxury line from Britain & each bottle is topped with the iconic crown. Their newest launch is ‘Noble VII – Rock Rose’ which I’m pretty impressed with. I really love all the woody tones especially! Another scent I was particularly drawn to was V . The Clive Christian “V” for Women fragrance is more floral than most of the line but really unique.
“Clive asked his eldest daughter Victoria to select two perfumes from his Private Collection that he ultimately named as a tribute to her choice and to her namesake—Queen Victoria—who uniquely crowned the perfumery in 1872.” I’ll definitely be checking out more from the line!
A long-time favorite for many- the Tom Ford area didn’t disappoint. I was quite intrigued by the Tom Ford Lip Contour Duos– especially after the rep told us they don’t actually do lipliners. Ever. The side that looks like a pencil is actually referred to as a “lip shaper” which makes sense with each lipstick shade. Use both shades to “add dimension, shape and create an ombré effect to your lips, from subtle contour to high-definition contrast.” I especially loved the shade Make Me- of course. That’s exactly what most people would choose for me day to day!
I am pretty picky about fragrance so I was shocked when I found several I quite liked. The newly released Tom Ford Private Blend Verts Bohéme Eau de Parfum isn’t normally what I gravitate towards…but after wearing a sample for a few days I really found I loved the crispness. What else was I in love with? The packaging, feel, & longevity of their solids! They have the Tom Ford Solid Fragrance in Black Orchid & Velvet Orchid but I definitely hope they expand! The texture is like an other solid but a bit more primer-esque & not waxy. I’ve always been a big fan of solids for travel!
Kevyn Aucoin is one of my favorite brands- they always come out with ultra flattering products. Plus- his book Making Faces is iconic. If you haven’t heard of it…or read it…you’ve got to check it out! & look how amazing these cookies were!
So what got me obsessed from the line for autumn? I actually just reviewed one of their cheek duos here which I was pretty much in love with. Because of that- I was already drawn to more face products…which I normally completely bypass because I’m like a bird attracted to shiny or colorful things. The Kevyn Aucoin Guardian Angel Cream Highlighter has me all aglow with want & need of full sizes/ The texture is a lot like a primer but the uses are a whole lot more vast. Because of the texture it blurs lines & pores but it also provides a gorgeous lit from within look. You can use it both under & over makeup.
& because I can’t pass up a vampy lip- we all ooed & ahhhed over the shades. Both Hana (aka Mama XO) & I fell head-over-heels for the same lipstick even! The Kevyn Aucoin Matte Lip Color in Bloodroses! This shades is so vampy & deep while still being incredibly comfortable. Instantly added to my wishlist!
& one of my favorite brands to round out this peek into trends- Jo Malone! You all know how much I love their fragrances but they actually have a new line out called Jo Malone Rare Tea. If you’re semi-obsessed with teas already, you’re bound to join my team after smelling these! My personal favorite is the Jo Malone London Darjeeling Tea which manages to still be exotic but has notes of sweetness as well. Completely off-topic…but one of my favorite fragrances for autumn actually wasn’t on the table- but check out the Jo Malone London Pomegranate Noir Cologne which is dark & rich.
We also got to see a few snippit of fashion here & there! Some of my favorite fall fashion trends at Neiman Marcus for women are metallics, berry shades, & skirts! For men it is all about browns, suede, & British influence.
