Drugstore crazes come in waves & often I am the first to run out & grab new items. Maybelline has released some of my favorites- I have pages & pages of reviews. Because I bought all of this line, I actually decided to take a long time to get my thoughts together. & I have lots of opinions!
The Maybelline Master Hi-Light Powdered products fall into either the blush or bronzer category. I believe there have been a few limited edition releases but there are 6 total in the permanent range. Powder isn’t always my friend. I’ve had dry skin for as long as I can remember & when all of my friends were in the middle school bathroom over-powdering their faces I was too. This has scarred me to this day obviously. Not all or even very many powders play nicely with dry skin but I’ve found that the ones I do like have a lot of things in common.
So the Beauteque Mineral Powder in Porcelain Princess definitely isn’t a downer for me. Notice that it catches the light but doesn’t shimmer- this definitely helps my skin not to look flat. That’s a requirement especially for this dry season. They actually include a kabuki brush with your order as well which is really soft. I love these brushes- especially for travel. Like many of the posts up for this time of year I’m complaining about dry skin. Much like oily skin, it makes apply makeup & keeping it looking great harder than necessary. I’m constantly on the search for better products to perfect my skin both in photographs & in real life. When the wind picks up my skin pretty much just stops even trying to hide it & you can really tell. I woke up this morning & washed my face as usual. Benefit is known for a lot of things but the first that pops into my mind are blushes. Their boxed blushes are both iconic & super cute- like a small girly accessory. I steered clear of the boxed blushes for a long time until my husband bought me Benefit’s Rockateur & I totally fell in love. I recently picked up two more blushes that I will review soon but that won’t be half as exciting as this palette. If you love cute packaging & want more bang for your buck then Benefit’s Cheeky Sweet Spot Palette which has been released for Holiday 2014 is definitely a must have. I’ve been on the hunt for new foundations for some time now. My skin changes pretty drastically season to season & more recently I’ve been dealing with some new issues. & not the fun ones. I’ve been getting awful dry patches, my eczema has been flaring something fierce, & on top of that my pores aren’t looking too hot. Not exactly a dream come true when combined with the whatever the heck it feels like weather going on around here lately either. Too Faced came out with these beautiful palettes a long time ago…& I’ve just been sitting around on them. I know- shame on me. I have had these for a really long time because my husband gifted them to me as a surprise…but I haven’t got an excuse for why they haven’t made it onto the blog yet!
