Is it just me or are contouring/highlighting palettes the “in” thing right now? Or maybe it is palettes in general? I’ve seen a ton of brands coming out with more & more palettes…which I’m definitely not complaining about. I am a palette girl at heart- give me everything from blush to eyeshadow to concealer & stick them in a palette! The only thing I haven’t fallen in love with is lip palettes…but there’s still time for that! Today I’m talking about the first contouring palette I really saw hit my radar many years ago- the It Cosmetics My Sculpted Face Palette! Check out all the details below!
What is it: A universal naturally pretty contouring palette that gives you the power to bring out your most beautiful features, and even hide the ones you want to minimize. Whether you want to bring out your cheek bones, slenderize your nose or forehead, look more lifted, hide a double chin or simply learn how to embrace your unique features, this palette complete with detailed instruction guide will be your beauty best friend!
Who is it for: Anyone who wants to bring out their most beautiful features, look instantly lifted, or look instantly thinner. Perfect for all skin tones, ages, face shapes and skin types.
Why is it different: Developed with leading plastic surgeons, and using anti-aging ingredients, this sleek, easy-to-follow palette comes with a step-by-step Face Sculpting Chart for reference and four contouring shades designed to match all skin tones as well as two highlighting shades – one with a slight shimmer and one with a matte finish. It also includes a regular mirror, and a mirror that is five times amplified.
So here’s the thing about contouring palettes- there isn’t a universal one. There just isn’t. Different skintones look better in different shades & this one is perfect for my pale-side skin. I’m realllly fair & often contouring palettes can look orange or too dark on me. This one doesn’t. If you’re a deeper medium to dark, however, I don’t think this would be your best bet. It is all about the tones for me when it comes to contouring especially so that’s what I pay special attention to when picking a palette. This palette is also definitely more cool-toned.
In this palette you get a set of six different shades. The white shade is what I use as a setting powder & next to it is a gorgeous pearlized highlight. The second row has two similarly colored bronzers that are light to medium toned. These are great for light bronzing or a lighter contour because they look natural on my fair skin. The two bottom shades are deeper & better for deeper contour or for summer skin. These shades all look natural on the skin & blend really easily. I love this combination so much!
All of the bronzers are matte but not chalky at all. I am a massive fan of It Cosmetics highlighters in basically every form & this one is no exception. It can be intense or applied with a lighter hand for more of a dewy look. The white powder I use to set my undereyes quite often because it is so convenient in this palette.
Normally I don’t contour heavily- it just isn’t my thing. So many powders are just too dark or chalky looking on me that I often steer clear. I have dry skin so powders aren’t always my friend- It Cosmetics is almost always the exception. The powders are always so smooth that they blend into my skin better than most other brands. All in all this palette has served me well. I like the magnifying mirror for doing my eyes too! I’ve also used this as my eyeshadow in a pinch!
