I had held off writing about these shades because 1) they’re limited edition 2) I got them on clearance & didn’t know if they would still be available & 3) I did write about my favorite shade which is the Sephora Outrageous Prisma Chrome in Metallic Taupe here. Clearly I changed my mind! See, they’re still on sale on the Sephora website here & I really want you to be able to snag them if you can. These are so worth the clearance price of $7 (even the full price which I paid for one!) & I desperately wish they were permanent. Keep reading to see the other 2 shades I snagged!

You can see lots more information on these eyeshadows from my first review but I wanted this to be quick! I love these shades both wet & dry which is always a bonus. I’ll show you in swatches below. The packaging is sturdy, I like the peek window, & the shadows themselves have amazing pigmentation & feel smooth. Honestly…the only negative I can find is that they are limited edition.

Sephora Outrageous Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow in Beige has a touch of light bronze & rose gold depending on the lighting…& well…Beige! Love this shade, gorgeous.

Sephora Outrageous Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow in Lilac is lovely & has some great purple & blue tones.Looks a bit duochrome on the eye which is cool, not a strong shift or anything but one of those ” in between shades” that I love for originality.

 photo SephoraChromesOutrageousBeigeampLilac06_zps3bbcc3c1.jpg

Left to right: Sephora Outrageous Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow in Lilac dry then foiled, Sephora Outrageous Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow in Beige dry then foiled.

I just love these eyeshadows. I really hope that if you’re making a Sephora order or happen to frequent Sephora in person you’ll check them out. On clearance for $7 is amazing. Have you managed to get your hands on them yet?

Wet n Wild Summer 2013 Limited Edition Pop Art Craze Coloricon Eye Shadow Trio Collection Swatches & Review

July 31, 2013 By StephanieLouise 354Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fwet-n-wild-summer-2013-limited-edition.htmlWet+n+Wild+Summer+2013+Limited+Edition+Pop+Art+Craze+Coloricon+Eye+Shadow+Trio+Collection+Swatches+%26+Review2013-07-31+21%3A45%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fwet-n-wild-summer-2013-limited-edition-pop-art-craze-coloricon-eye-shadow-trio-collection-swatches-review.html

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection02_zps66d8227b.jpg

I always run out to buy the Wet n Wild trios. I own all of them from the permanent line & when I saw posts about this new limited edition one I knew I’d be stalking it down. I had to go to 2 different Walgreens to collect them all but for only $2.99 each I didn’t mind. There are 6 trios total, keep reading to see swatches & review of them all!

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection01_zpsd78a0d92.jpg

These trios have a white background & the originals are black. They each come with a sponge applicator & small brush. I used ELF eyelid primer for the swatches below. They’re numbered so I just went from low-high for reference. Check out each trio below, some are matte & some have shimmer. These photos were taken in natural sunlight.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection08_zpsc3f22c24.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection09_zps3676c5a2.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection015_zpsb128ca74.jpg

Your 15 Minutes Aren’t Up!- I like this bright yellow, especially over a white base to make it pop. The purple doesn’t have a lot of pigmentation. It looks pretty matte on the eye though which is nice. The pink shade has mauve tones & is probably my favorite in this trip, nice pigmentation especially for a pink.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection07_zpse0008f6f.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection010_zps64cc3313.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection016_zps410756d2.jpg

A Regular at the Factory- The pale shimmery yellow has some glitter in it. It is fine but there. I needed to do a few swipes to get it like the photo above. I like the turquoise, very pretty. The orange shade is a nice, true orange with light shimmer. I wouldn’t have put these 3 shades together but I really love this trio!

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection06_zps5bfcd173.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection011_zpsbf6096d8.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection017_zps28284d82.jpg

Hard Being the It Girl- These 3 shades are pretty much matte which is nice. The light pink is nice but the blue is my favorite, nice pigmentation. The creamy shade was powdery for me when I tried to layer it. I’ll probably only use this for highlighting.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection05_zpseca5ca38.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection012_zpsaf193a0f.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection018_zps4d5c101e.jpg

Three’s A Party- I was super excited about this trio, great red! They may look slightly satin but they are pretty much matte in real life. All three shades have very nice pigmentation. The black isn’t the blackest in my collection but it is still quite nice. They are all soft & easy to use as well.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection04_zps57616206.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection013_zpsc5d3d2c1.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection019_zps75c9a44f.jpg

I’m Seeing Triples!- I think this is the most striking trio visually in the packaging. Love this lime so much, great shade. The blue is probably my least favorite, it isn’t all that spectacular. The purple is kind of a pinky grape, very nice! Pretty much a matte trio as well.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection03_zps34f8ff89.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection014_zps691e1052.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection020_zps1b23bf7c.jpg

To Muse and Carouse- This was the reason i had to go to 2 stores, people snapped this trio up fast & I can see why. In this collection of 6 this is the only one containing more than one neutral. The brown shade is a satin & has really nice pigmentation. I think it is a great shade. The peach & baby blue are pretty & useable. Overall a nice trio with nice texture.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection025_zps26a878d1.jpg

Overall, nice shade variety. I always love vibrant eyeshadows so I think they delivered that for a reasonable price. This is also mostly a matte collection which is quite a shock, usually Wet n Wild does a lot more shimmer/glitter. Nice change. Wet n Wild shadows are best worn over an eyeshadow primer & I apply them in layers using a patting motion. You have to be really careful not to overblend the matter shades especially. I’m quite happy with my purchase overall!

Which trio do you like the best? Have you found them yet? Which do you find the most unique?

I’ve been working on my Lorac Pro Palette review for what feels like ages! I have had it for about 3-4 months now & wanted a well rounded view. I have a lot of neutral palettes but I got a request to compare it to the Urban Decay original Naked palette & The Balm Nude ‘Tude palette. So since I’ll be posting my Lorac Pro Palette review soon I thought I’d put up this post now! Keep reading for side by side comparisons!
For this post, I’m going to compare each palette to the Lorac Pro palette just in case you’re looking for something specific. Prices are similar, the Urban Decay Naked Palette retails for $50.00 , The Balm Nude ‘Tude Palette retails for $36.00, & the Lorac Pro Palette retails for $42.00. [Read more…]

NEW Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Eyeshadow Swatches & Review

When it comes to eyeshadows from the drugstore, the Maybelline Color Tattoos are easily some of my favorites. I wear them as eyeshadow bases nearly day to day & also wear them on their own. When I heard they were coming out with pigments…I was ecstatic. I LOVE pigments! These are the first true mainstream/drugstore pigments I’ve tried that weren’t some form of sheer. After reading some reviews I picked up 7 shades. I have since picked up all but one! Keep reading to see my swatches & thoughts! [Read more…]

My Morning Summer Skincare Routine with Simple Skincare

July 11, 2013 By StephanieLouise 373Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fmy-morning-summer-skincare-routine-with.htmlMy+Morning+Summer+Skincare+Routine+with+Simple+Skincare2013-07-11+14%3A36%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fmy-morning-summer-skincare-routine-with-simple-skincare.html

Simple has taken my skincare routine by storm. For months I knew I was being too harsh on my skin. Too much scrubbing. Too much stripping. Too much unnecessary damage. Sometimes when I go through terrible breakouts (hormonal or stress induced usually) I tend to overreact. Getting back on track can be tough, especially during these hot humid months. So what is a girl to do? Well Simple totally had my back. Check out more details on my morning skincare routine using Simple products below!

1. The first thing I do to my skin in the morning is wash it! I’ve been absolutely loving the Simple Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser. Normally I can’t use foaming cleansers because I have dry skin but this doesn’t strip my skin which I definitely appreciate. This is super light, fast, removes grime from sleeping, & it also takes away any traces of makeup I might have missed the night before.

2. So I don’t use a scrub everyday because I usually use my Clarisonic which helps exfoliate gently but I tend to apply a scrub to more dry areas about 3 times a week. I’ve been opting for the Simple Kind to Skin Smoothing Facial Scrub because it is nice & fine. It feels like a lot of my high end scrubs. I apply very gently so it doesn’t irritate my skin at all.

3. I have eyelids that are a touch more dry than I prefer so I do this step next. Plus I do my eye makeup first so these products have to “sink in” before I start! I start with the Simple Kind To Eyes Revitalising Eye Roll-On. I’ve heard some controversy about roll-on products around the eyes but I love it. It is slightly cooling which tends to perk up my tired looking eyes. It helps me wake up!

4. At night I use a heavy duty eye cream to really moisturize but during the day I need something a bit lighter. During summer I have to find something that lightly moisturizes & that won’t be too slick in the humidity when I wear eye makeup. Simple Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm doesn’t contain anything unnecessary so it doesn’t dry out my skin. I don’t need the area around my eyes to smell good…I just think adding scent to products like this is odd! Thanks Simple for not just throwing things in there!

5. Next is the Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner. For many years I didn’t use a toner but now my skincare routine feels lacking without it. I apply a splash to a cotton round then use gentle circular motions around my face.

6. My last step is probably the one I am most excited about for summer, a light moisturizer! The Simple Kind to Skin Light Moisturizer is oil free & contains SPF 15. I find that I have to use something lighter in this humidity or my makeup will melt off my face! This is perfect, moisturizing & contains SPF while not being too much.

So there you have it! Simple has had my heart & I’ve loved everything I’ve tried so far. No animal derived ingredients, easy to follow instructions, & they don’t contain anything harsh on my skin. On top of all that,
you can find Simple products for a bargain price & at stores you likely frequent. I urge you to give them a shot! I have more favorites I’ll be sharing soon…I’m becoming a real convert!

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile then you know how much I love many Maybelline products. From the Maybelline Color Tattoos to the Maybelline Color Whispers I’m a big fan. Besides the Maybelline Color Tattoos though…I really don’t have any eyeshadow singles! I’ve picked up a few but that was year ago & they weren’t on par. Today I’m sharing a shade I know a lot about: taupe. How could I pass that up? Keep reading to see how it stacks up! [Read more…]

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Turquoise Swatches & Review

June 26, 2013 By StephanieLouise 386Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fstila-smudge-stick-waterproof-eye-liner.htmlStila+Smudge+Stick+Waterproof+Eye+Liner+in+Turquoise+Swatches+%26+Review2013-06-26+21%3A15%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fstila-smudge-stick-waterproof-eye-liner-in-turquoise-swatches-review.html

Do you have makeup products that you “visit” at certain stores? Often it is pricey palettes for me or other things I just can’t justify. I’ll pet it, swatch it, sigh at it, then move along. I know I really like something when I keep coming back. That is exactly the case with the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Turquoise. Now that I officially own it & have been using it for a few weeks I’m ready to share my thoughts!

 photo StilaEyelinerinTurquoise02_zpsa1bcc0b4.jpg

I’ve been a big fan of the Stila Smudge Sticks for a long time now but this is my first bright shade. I have some deeper shades, like plum & moss. This is also (to my memory) the first Stila Smudge Stick I’ve purchased that doesn’t contain shimmer. These wear very nicely & apply quite smoothly, especially for an automatic pencil. These are not retractable so do pay attention to how much product you’re rolling up!

 photo StilaEyelinerinTurquoise03_zpsa04be150.jpg
Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Turquoise is more of a mint than what I consider a turquoise. It is still a lovely shade though! I don’t wear this shade in my waterline often & instead opt to wear it on my lid for a pop of color. I often top it with another shade to smoke it up a little but it works nicely alone as well. This is a waterproof pencil & while it wears great on my lid it does tend to wear off a bit more in my waterline. I figure it is both because I have allergy eyes & lighter shades tend to fade more quickly there.

All in all, a beautifully unique shade. I don’t have anything close to this color in my collection & definitely not something matte. I’m very impressed. This was a it pricey but these pencils last a long time. I also think it is a limited edition shade so if you want it, you’ll need to snap it up. I picked up my pencil at Ulta.

What do you think of this shade? Do you have anything similar? Interested in seeing a tutorial?

Glamour Doll Eyes Oddity, Downtown, & Flawless Eyeshadow Look

June 21, 2013 By StephanieLouise 389Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fglamour-doll-eyes-oddity-downtown.htmlGlamour+Doll+Eyes+Oddity%2C+Downtown%2C+%26+Flawless+Eyeshadow+Look2013-06-21+21%3A16%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fglamour-doll-eyes-oddity-downtown-flawless-eyeshadow-look.html

Hopefully you caught my review of my first Glamour Doll Eyes eyeshadows awhile back & felt my excitement through my words. The shades…oh man they are pretty perfect. I’ve been waiting to do an eyeshadow look for awhile now so I’m really excited to share this with you today! I went simple & used three of my Glamour Doll Eyes shadows in Oddity, Flawless, & Downtown. Keep reading to check it out!

 photo GlamourDollEyesOddityFlawlessampDowtownEyeshadowLook08_zps9a369fe9.jpg

 photo GlamourDollEyesOddityFlawlessampDowtownEyeshadowLook04_zpsfc8185ac.jpg

I used the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer in Eden for some color correction. Green base shade is Glamour Doll Eyes Oddity from the Circus Collection. I love this shade & it is so wonderfully pigmented. In my crease is Downtown which is possibly one of my favorite shades from any brand ever. Taupe-y brown with aqua glitter? Win. Flawless is my highlight shade. I then topped this look off with eyeliner & mascara.

 photo GlamourDollEyesOddityFlawlessampDowtownEyeshadowLook09_zpsfd511e69.jpg

I think this turned out so cool & I really enjoyed wearing it today! If you want to see it in action, check out my weekly favorites video that I posted today wearing this look! You can see the glitter coming through in Downtown.

What do you think? Is this a combo you’d wear or are you more subdued? I have gotten requests for more “wearable daytime” type looks & I promise I’ll have some coming up! Do you have any shades from Glamour Doll Eyes?

Too Faced Intense Eye Shadow in Violet Femme Swatches & Review

June 14, 2013 By StephanieLouise 405Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Ftoo-faced-intense-eye-shadow-in-violet.htmlToo+Faced+Intense+Eye+Shadow+in+Violet+Femme+Swatches+%26+Review2013-06-14+13%3A45%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Ftoo-faced-intense-eye-shadow-in-violet-femme-swatches-review.html

Love purples? Me too. In fact it is a bit unhealthy. I just adore purple everything. This is my first Too Faced single eyeshadow purchase & after much swatching I knew it needed to come home with me. There are some other shades I have my eye on but I’m happy to say this is my first. If you love purple, shimmer, & something a bit different you’ll likely dig Too Faced Exotic Color Intense Eye Shadow in Violet Femme too.

 photo DSCN6507_zpse879fc97.jpg
 photo DSCN6509_zps2911a8dd.jpg

The packaging itself is quite the standard from Too Faced. Ultra fair pink & gold is what I’ve come to expect. The eyeshadow itself looks like an abstract black flower. I definitely appreciate the peek window so I can see the shade. Pretty but simple. If you are used to square/rectangle shadows this might be a bit of a challenge to store. I took it showing my nail so you can see the size reference. This isn’t all that big.

 photo DSCN6512_zpsa8565818.jpg

When you first pick up this shade, it doesn’t look all that spectacular. It looks like a pretty violet with slight shimmer. Pretty but not out of this world.

 photo DSCN6521_zpse6d321a5.jpg
 photo DSCN6516_zps79433b1e.jpg

Swipe your finger over the shadow for the first time & you’re off to wonderland. The sheen beneath is absolutely crazy! When it hits the light there is not doubt that the gold shines through. It isn’t crazily pigmented but that is actually what I like about this particular shade.

 photo DSCN6528_zpse0caa27f.jpg
 photo DSCN6526_zps6cbb1b33.jpg

When applied, I find you get fallout. Both of the swipes above (one is a heavier swatch while the other is sheered out) are applied dry. I’ll be doing an eye look with this shade wet which is when it really shines. This shade in general applies better wet, spongetip, fingertip, or with a firm brush.

I seriously love this color & only wish I had bought it during spring! I think it is going to be really pretty with some of my bronze shades as well though!

Have you tried this color? Any other Too Faced eyeshadow singles I need in my life?

Tropical Heat Eyeshadow Tutorial using the Smashbox Heat Wave Palette!

June 12, 2013 By StephanieLouise 409Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Ftropical-heat-eyeshadow-tutorial-using.htmlTropical+Heat+Eyeshadow+Tutorial+using+the+Smashbox+Heat+Wave+Palette%212013-06-12+11%3A56%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Ftropical-heat-eyeshadow-tutorial-using-the-smashbox-heat-wave-palette.html

 photo SmashboxHeatWaveMainPhotoTropicalHeatTutorial01_zps5cdbb65b.jpg

When I reviewed the Smashbox Heat Wave Palette I had already decided a tutorial had to happen. I don’t do many foiled tutorials but they are always really pretty. This is a pretty easy tutorial & although it involves quite a few shades it is easier with a wet brush. At the end, you’ll have a lovely tropical eye look! Keep reading to find out how & a list of all products used!

 photo UsingtheSmashboxHeatWavePalette12_zpsa397e8d4.jpg

Get the Look:
I went ahead & took my swatches & labeled them. They are in the same order as in the palette. If you need a refresher on anything about the palette, check out my full review here!

I recommend doing your eye makeup before foundation to avoid fallout. Use an eyeshadow base, I used the Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer. Apply shade #2 foiled as your base shade. Blend out with a bit of shade #7 on the outer corner. Foil shade #4 & apply the inner corner & under the lashline about 1/3 of the way. Blend with a bit of dry up to the crease staying towards the front of the eye. Apply shade #8 along the base of your lashline for the outer 2/3 of your under eye foiled & flip the edge out a bit. Blend blend blend! Make sure you especially blend your lower lashline, use on of the shades dry if necessary for a clean line. Take shade #1 dry lightly & blend up onto the brow bone & along crease edges. Finish with liner & mascara.
