Smashbox Limited Edition Heat Wave Palette Swatches & Review!

June 10, 2013 By StephanieLouise 414Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fsmashbox-limited-edition-heat-wave.htmlSmashbox+Limited+Edition+Heat+Wave+Palette+Swatches+%26+Review%212013-06-10+14%3A32%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fsmashbox-limited-edition-heat-wave-palette-swatches-review.html

I bought it. Affiliate links.

Like I said when I reviewed the Smashbox Pop of Pink set, Smashbox is infiltrating my beauty collection full force. The Smashbox Heat Wave palette is both new & limited edition. These aren’t shades I’d normally go for in a palette but I thought I could make it work. The shades are gorgeous. Keep reading to see swatches & review!

 photo SmashboxHeatWavePaletteReviewSwatches02_zps9b226627.jpg

Inside you find 10 shades, a nice double ended brush, & a full size mirror. This palette is medium sized & the outer packaging is a beige/silver. Very sleek looking. This brush is actually quite functional! I leave it inside the palette & use it on the shades when I apply them foiled/wet.

 photo SmashboxHeatWavePaletteReviewSwatches03_zps5fee31e6.jpg

Housed inside are 8 shimmers & 2 mattes. The shades are warm or neutral which is interesting. Normally there is a mix of warm/cool. This palette contains quite a few neutrals & the more colorful options are a bit subdued.

This palette actually contains 17 grams ( .59 oz) of product which is a lot! The $49 price tag might seem hefty but you are getting more than your average amount of eyeshadows. These shades can be used wet or dry which is amazing as well. I love foiling shades & having options. It is more like you get 20 shades.

 photo SmashboxHeatWavePaletteReviewSwatches06_zpsd8d89a6b.jpg

 photo SmashboxHeatWavePaletteReviewSwatches07_zps7f3a22c6.jpg
I wish these shades had names so I could describe them more easily but no dice! Here they are dry over Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer.
Top row: Matte peach, warm bronze shimmer, matte medium brown, warm coral toned pink with golden shimmer, metallic antiqued gold.
Bottom row: shimmery (nearly metallic!) beige pink, shimmery warm pewter, murky blue gray shimmer, darkened lavender that almost comes off plum, & a dark satin taupey brown.

 photo SmashboxHeatWavePaletteReviewSwatches08_zps78128440.jpg

& wet which is my personal favorite also over Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer.

Unfortunately I found that using them dry resulted in decent & noticeable fallout. I recommend applying your eyeshadow before your foundation. These shades are also pretty light on their own so I highly recommend using a primer as well. If you aren’t planning to use them wet then this might be a deal breaker for you. I’ve used them wet almost every time which results in a beautiful color so this doesn’t bother me a bit! This palette has some nice flexibility, especially for summer. I was afraid this wouldn’t work on my fair, cool toned skin but it has looked fab! I’ll have a tutorial up soon with a tropical eye look soon!

You can purchase the Smashbox Heat Wave Palette from Sephora, ULTA, Nordstrom, & wherever Smashbox products are sold. Like I said, this is a limited edition palette so if you want it you can’t wait too long!

Victoria’s Secret Limited Edition Eye Shadow Duo in Bon Voyage Review + Swatches

June 7, 2013 By StephanieLouise 420Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fvictorias-secret-limited-edition-eye.htmlVictoria%27s+Secret+Limited+Edition+Eye+Shadow+Duo+in+Bon+Voyage+Review+%2B+Swatches2013-06-07+12%3A29%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fvictorias-secret-limited-edition-eye-shadow-duo-in-bon-voyage-review-swatches.html

 photo VS-Duo-in-Bon-Voyage-Limited-Edition-02_zpsfd972d64.jpg
I bought it.

I am such a sucker for baked eyeshadows. You can use them wet or dry so it is like getting double bang for your buck. When I went into Victoria’s Secret I was actually seeking out a newer quad but this duo won out. The packaging is really cut, I have always liked the Victoria’s Secret baked eyeshadows, & it was limited edition so I couldn’t possibly miss out…right? Keep reading to see the swatches & review!
The exterior packaging on this baby is actually really cute. You have copper ropes creating an outline against a gradient blue background with a tinge of holo to it. Plus, a peek window so you can see what shade your buying & that it hasn’t been tampered with. Cheers to that.

 photo VS-Duo-in-Bon-Voyage-Limited-Edition-03_zps9f6f576c.jpg

On the back of the box:
Welcome to paradise, Bombshell. Dive into the glamorous life. Complementary shade duo for a custom eye look. Pigment-rich formula with a satiny texture drapes lids in pure color and an alluring finish.

VS TIP: For the perfect blend, wear the lighter shade all over lids, all the way up to the browbone. Wear the darker shade on lower lids, concentrating application in the crease for added depth.

 photo VS-Duo-in-Bon-Voyage-Limited-Edition-04_zps726f1e30.jpg
 photo VS-Duo-in-Bon-Voyage-Limited-Edition-06_zps5f9b48bb.jpg

You get 3 grams of product which is actually pretty descent since they are nicely pigmented & can be used wet/dry. For reference, a MAC single pan eyeshadow contains 1.5 grams for $15 & this has 3 grams for $15. The packaging the shade itself comes in is a lovely copper crinkled foil plastic packaging with a peek window. Quite striking. The packaging is more true to color in the 2nd photo, the copper was really reflective!

 photo VS-Duo-in-Bon-Voyage-Limited-Edition-05_zpsda7caf1a.jpg

The lighter shade in this duo is a bare warm vanilla with blue/silver veins & golden satin shimmer. The darker shade is a very cool brown with a bit of taupe with bronze shimmer. Both i consider a satin finish & there really isn’t much fallout if any when I use them dry. None when i use them wet.

 photo VS-Duo-in-Bon-Voyage-Limited-Edition-01_zps85085b0c.jpg
 photo VS-Duo-in-Bon-Voyage-Limited-Edition-07_zpsbbba66f1.jpg

Swatches left to right: light shade dry, light shade wet, dark shade dry, dark shade wet.

Sadly this duo has sold out online so if you want to grab it you’ll need to go into your local Victoria’s Secret. They had other shades that were limited edition as well but this was the one that spoke to me. I love the packaging, the shades themselves are lovely, & I think it is a nice value. I see myself reaching for this a lot this summer.

What do you think? Have you tried Victoria’s Secret eyeshadows? Do you like baked shadows? If you want to see a quick tutorial with this duo just let me know in the comments!

Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palette in Mint Jolie Swatches & Review

June 3, 2013 By StephanieLouise 424Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Flancome-color-design-5-shadow-liner.htmlLancome+Color+Design+5+Shadow+%26+Liner+Palette+in+Mint+Jolie+Swatches+%26+Review2013-06-03+14%3A41%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Flancome-color-design-5-shadow-liner-palette-in-mint-jolie-swatches-review.html

 photo Lancome-Mint-Jolie-Color-Design-Palette-06_zps46d7da7e.jpg

Birthday gift. Affiliate links.

If you happened to catch my ridiculously spoiled birthday haul from this year then you probably caught how much I wanted this beautiful palette from Lancome. The Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palette in Mint Jolie looks youthful but sophisticated. This was my first Lancome Color Design 5 palette although I had swatched it in stores (pretty much every store I went into…) for a very long time. The shades go together beautifully, you can create looks year round that are on trend, & they honestly feel amazing. I’ve been really excited to share my swatches & review with you so here it is!

 photo Lancome-Mint-Jolie-Color-Design-Palette-08_zps9ddbf3a2.jpg
 photo Lancome-Mint-Jolie-Color-Design-Palette-09_zps3d218292.jpg

So in a weird twist…I can’t find other reviews on this palette. I find this odd since it is not only on trend but from such a popular brand. Hopefully if you were searching for swatches or a review like I did before purchasing you’ve had better luck. Apparently this is an unsung palette! This palm sized palette comes in the usual grey-silver Lancome packaging with the iconic rose. The palette itself is simple black, sturdy packaging with again the silver iconic Lancome rose symbol.

 photo Lancome-Mint-Jolie-Color-Design-Palette-07_zps2a4844d3.jpg

The Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palettes all come set up the same way. You get 5 shades total, each with a different suggested purpose. Shade 1 is an all-over base shade, 2 is meant for the lid, 3 is for the crease, 4 is a highlighter, & 5 is meant to be a liner. In the photo you see a clear insert labeling each shade which is easily removed. This diagram also appears on the back of the palette for reference.

 photo Lancome-Mint-Jolie-Color-Design-Palette-05_zps8b567336.jpg

Let’s look at the specific shades you’ll see in the palette. The photo above is with flash. You can see the shades in natural lighting below.

 photo Lancome-Mint-Jolie-Color-Design-Palette-04_zps12e88d0f.jpg

1. is the All-Over Base shade & it is a shimmery vanilla.
2. is the Lid shade & is a pastel mint with soft gold shimmer.
3. is the Crease shade & is a beautiful taupe with nice pigmentation.
4. is the Highlighter shade & is a beige crushed glitter which means it is slightly flaky. The flakes themselves are a very soft gold. You’ll get a bit of fallout with this shade if you use it dry & it will look more metallic when used wet.
5. is the Liner shade & it is a smoky black base packed with emerald shimmer. I really prefer this shade wet as it is more pigmented.

 photo Lancome-Mint-Jolie-Color-Design-Palette-02_zps7d0b17d1.jpg

Swatches left to right on bare skin (no primer) are all done dry. You can also wear these shades wet.

 photo Lancome-Mint-Jolie-Color-Design-Palette-01_zps1b1337a8.jpg

You can see the taupe changes a bit depending on the lighting. This makes it a true taupe! Love! The mint also shifts a bit as the gold sheen catches the light.

 photo Lancome-Mint-Jolie-Color-Design-Palette-03_zpsde8e979b.jpg

This liner shade is definitely blacker when used wet & more pigmented. I wanted you to be able to see the emerald shimmer though, it is really lovely! I’d love this shade in a stick form!

I really love this palette. You can create multiple looks with these shades from day to fun to night time sexy. I can’t wait to get some tutorials up for you guys because I definitely think these shade look better on the eye. All of the eyeshadows are very soft. I can see some people complaining that they aren’t pigmented when using a brush so I wanted to give you a tip. Use a firm brush, sponge applicator, a damp brush, or even your fingertip. This really helps to deposit the color beautifully onto the lid. This also helps to prevent fallout.

Stay tuned for tutorials! You can purchase the Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palette in Mint Jolie for $49 from the Lancome website. You can also purchase this palette where Lancome is sold since it is part of the core line.

What do you think of this palette? Are these shades you would wear? When it comes to the tutorial would you like to see a day, dramatic, or smoky look?

Fake a Taupe Eyeshadow Look with Lorac Pro + Rimmel Show Off in Nova Tutorial

May 28, 2013 By StephanieLouise 428Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Ffake-taupe-eyeshadow-look-with-lorac.htmlFake+a+Taupe+Eyeshadow+Look+with+Lorac+Pro+%2B+Rimmel+Show+Off+in+Nova+Tutorial2013-05-28+17%3A22%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Ffake-a-taupe-eyeshadow-look-with-lorac-pro-rimmel-show-off-in-nova-tutorial.html

 photo Rimmel-Nova-and-Lorac-Pro-Taupe-Tutorial-07_zps4fdd698b.jpg

If there is one look I create over & over it is a taupe eyeshadow look. Taupe makeup just makes me happy year round & I think it can really make my eyes pop when done a certain way. I love my Lorac Pro palette so much lately but I don’t find it has a true taupe that is taupe enough for me. What is a girl to do? Create one of course! Obviously I’m not a scientist but I’ve found that when you combine shades that you often see in shades of taupes correctly…it will look a bit duochrome or like a taupe itself. Ah, the eyes. So crazy. I’ll also be showing you how my first day of testing the new Rimmel Show Off (or Apocolips in the UK) in Nova looks! If you haven’t seen these yet, I showed you the displays popping up here! Every product used is listed below!

Eyeshadow Tutorial:
Apply a primer first. Today I used the Lorac Eye Primer. Apply Taupe to the crease & blend well. You want to outline where your darkest shade will be. Mix a bit of slate & Pewter on a fluffy brush & work into outer corner. Blend, blend, blend. I brought it in pretty far for a dramatic look. Mix a bit of purple & black on the very outer corner if desired & bring down to create a slight V. Apply Pewter to lid & blend up lightly to merge colors. Apply a bit of Lt. Bronze directly to middle of lid to create a brightening, light catching look. Blend. Apply Cream to browbone foe highlight. Under your eye drag pewter on the outer half & Lt. Bronze on the inner blending well for a seamless transition. Apply a light touch of champagne to inner corner for brightening. Apply liner & mascara.

Glamour Doll Eyes Eyeshadows in Phyrra, Oddity, Downtown, Veteran, Flawless, & Strawberry Cupcake!

May 17, 2013 By StephanieLouise 436Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Fglamour-doll-eyes-eyeshadows-in-phyrra.htmlGlamour+Doll+Eyes+Eyeshadows+in+Phyrra%2C+Oddity%2C+Downtown%2C+Veteran%2C+Flawless%2C+%26+Strawberry+Cupcake%212013-05-17+22%3A14%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Fglamour-doll-eyes-eyeshadows-in-phyrra-oddity-downtown-veteran-flawless-strawberry-cupcake.html

 photo GlamourDollEyesEyeshadowsMainPhoto_zpsed2d2e04.jpg

PR Sample. Affiliate links.

Glamour Doll Eyes has been on my “I have to try this!” list for a long time now. Their shadows are gorgeous & unique..plus some of my very favorite bloggers do tutorials with them frequently! Notice the first shadow mentioned is Phyrra as in my friend Phyrra who I adore so much right over here? Indeed! I’ll be doing some tutorials with these shades soon so definitely stay tuned for those…but in the mean time enjoy the swatches & color breakdowns!

 photo GlamourDollEyesEyeshadows01_zps324b5904.jpg

Each eyeshadow comes housed in a plastic container with a lid. There isn’t a sifter which doesn’t bother me but I thought I would mention it just in case! You can get shadows with sifters but you get less product. On the back you’ll find the shade name, size, ingredients, if it is lip safe, & if it is vegan. I wish all containers came with this! When I’m doing more creative looks I always have to look up if I can use something as a lip color or liner. These also come sealed so no spilling while it ships! I’ve had some messy orders from other brands so this was excellent. You can also order samples of the shades & they have deals too.

From Glamour Doll Eyes: A sample baggie comes with .5 gram which is 1/8th of a teaspoon. A sample jar comes with 1 gram which is 1/4th of a teaspoon and a full jar comes with about 2 grams, which is a half of a teaspoon. I never level out the spoons, so most of the time, it is flowing over so you receive a bit more than what is stated. Please note, some shadows have different textures so the jars might not look as full as others, it doesn’t mean that there is less shadow.

 photo GlamourDollEyesEyeshadows02_zps3d0cab03.jpg

Row 1 left to right: Phyrra, Oddity, & Downtown.

Row 2 left to right: Veteran, Flawless, & Strawberry Cupcake.

Italics are the shade descriptions from Glamour Doll Eyes site & then my notes are below! These can also be foiled. If you want to see them on my eye foiled or any color combinations just let me know! The first photo is natural light while the second is with flash to make some of the shimmer pop. Swatches are at the end.

 photo GlamourDollEyesEyeshadowsPhyrra_zps278165c9.jpg

Phyrra- is hot pink with aqua sparkles.
Of course this is stunning! This is a cool pink that leans purple in some lights. I love the aqua sparkles! They look electric! (Lip Safe/Not Vegan)

 photo GlamourDollEyesEyeshadowsOddity_zps718ef78f.jpg

Oddity- is a very unique blend of shimmer and matte. This is a lime green but almost looks duochrome as well!
Definitely a different shade of green! I am digging this shade so much & it walks that line between apple &  olive drab green that appeals to me year round. (Not Lip Safe/Vegan)

 photo GlamourDollEyesEyeshadowsDowntown_zps1f5276b2.jpg

Downtown- is a medium tone brown with aqua sparkle.
This is so much better in person than it was online! The sparkles in this are insane, they flash beautiful making this an edgy neutral I’ll be reaching for a ton! This definitely has a taupe-ness that is amazing as well! (Lip Safe/Vegan)

 photo GlamourDollEyesEyeshadowsVeteran_zpsd4ccdf11.jpg

Veteran- N/A because it is out of stock.
This is a dark navy with red/bronze shimmer. I love it. I plan to use it on 4th of July & it holds a special place since my husband is in the Air Force. Love this shade, so pretty. (Not Lip Safe/Vegan)

 photo GlamourDollEyesEyeshadowsFlawless_zpsca6bf253.jpg

Flawless- is a light beige/pink with subtle turquoise and gold shimmers.
I wanted a ice neutral to use as a highlight/base & flawless was an awesome choice. Beautiful, easy to blend, & I can sheer it out or layer it depending on what I’m looking for. (Lip Safe/Not Vegan)

 photo GlamourDollEyesEyeshadowsStrawberryCupcake_zps85c84e45.jpg

Strawberry Cupcake- is a pretty pink color, not too bright and not too light!
This was the only shade I wasn’t sure about when I was looking online…but it is awesome. This is a cross between a softened hot pink & tangerine. Holy moly! This is gorgeous & I can totally see myself using it on my cheeks, lips, & of course my eyes! (Lip Safe/Vegan)

 photo Glamour-Doll-Eyes-Swatches-03_zps0d262255.jpg

 photo Glamour-Doll-Eyes-Swatches-01_zps4dd49c4b.jpg
 photo Glamour-Doll-Eyes-Swatches-02_zps2ac2d483.jpg

Swatches are over primer & were done with a dry fingertip.

Row 1 left to right: Phyrra, Oddity, & Downtown.
Row 2 left to right: Veteran, Flawless, & Strawberry Cupcake.

Each of these shades retails for only $6 & because they’re so pigmented it will take a long time to get through these! Each shade is love so I definitely need more. I’m working on putting together some eyeshadow loos/tutorials so if you have any requests, just let me know! I definitely need to show some of thee foiled. Each shade is completely unique to my collection…& I have a lot of eyeshadows. They come out with a lot of specialty collections as well.

There are seriously so many more shades I want! Check out Bruised, Immature, Stellar & Tattooed are definitely all on my list! Do you have any shades from Glamour Doll Eyes? Anything you think I need to get my hands on next time?

Can I just start off by saying how much I love this eyeshadow look? I mean really, I do intensely. Everything about this says summer to me & it just makes me so darn happy! On my eyes:
Too Faced Summer Eyes Palette: Coral Crush on the lid, Plumeria in the crease, Seashell as a highlight, & Chocolate sun run along the lashline. These shadows are very easy to over blend so I definitely used the patting motion & I think primer is probably necessary.

Too Faced Summer Eyes Palette Swatches & Review

 photo DSCN7997_zpsfee677dd.jpg

I bought it. Affiliate links.

I am so in love with Too Faced lately so I knew I had to pick up the new Too Faced Summer Eyes Palette. I passed on this palette last year & regretted it…boy am I glad I did! Now I get to have it in this nifty tin which I so prefer! This palette has some beautiful browns, perfect base shades, & some lovely pops of color. I’ll have an eyeshadow look coming up with this palette soon & if you follow me on Instagram (if not just look to the left!) then you have already seen a sneak peek!

 photo DSCN8000_zps266b23c4.jpg

Too Faced- Our hand-picked collection of nine summertime ready shadows are just the right addition to your faux bronzed glow, and fresh sunny highlights. These exclusive resort-inspired eye shadows will be your temptation to take a vacation. This palette is cruelty-free.

 photo DSCN8003_zpsb9a21ede.jpg

I love this tin & inside you’ll find 9 eyeshadows (3 of which are larger sized) & a get the look card. I like these cards but I prefer the mirror behind them! The Boudoir Eyes just came with the “Get the Look” card & no mirror so this was a happy surprise! This doesn’t come with primer or brushes.

 photo DSCN8009_zpsdcb8404c.jpg

 photo DSCN8015_zps0fdc68df.jpg

Swatches are over primer & they are in order as seen in the palette.

 photo DSCN8019_zpscbb85e94.jpg

Day: Seashell, Plumeria, & Cocoa Beach.

Seashell- Pastel peach with great coverage. Matte.
Plumeria- Medium girly pink shimmer. Nice pigmentation on this.
Cocoa Beach-Warm medium brown with golden shimmer.

 photo DSCN8018_zpsb12c1e44.jpg

Classic: Peach Fuzz, Coral Crush, & Chocolate Sun.

Peach Fuzz- Pale yellow/beige with fine gold glitter. Pretty but you’ll see the glitter more than pigmentation
Coral Crush- Orange leaning coral with gold glitter. I love this shade but wish it didn’t have gold glitter in it since 2 of the highlights have it as a main component.
Chocolate Sun- Very pigmented chocolate brown with gold glitter.

 photo DSCN8017_zps053b8c02.jpg

Fashion: Sunbeam, Mermaid, & Toasted Coconut.

Sunbeam- Pale yellow with gold glitter. Again, I see more glitter when I use it than pigmentation.
Mermaid- Shimmering deep, smoky turquoise. I like this shade a lot but I wish it was a bright shade.
Toasted Coconut- Warm shimmery brown. This isn’t a gold shimmer though which is nice.

I really love this palette but there are some things I’d change. I wish only one brown had the gold glitter since I could easily use the highlights to make them golden. Maybe one with a blue or green sheen would be cool? I also really love Coral Crush but again wish it didn’t have the gold glitter because I like to use “topper” shades for more options. Despite these things, I am very happy with this palette. The packaging is wonderful, it has a mirror inside, perfect for travel, great quality shades, everything about it is very nice! I’ll talk about how I apply these shadows in an upcoming post because there are some little tips!

Have you picked up the Too Faced Summer Eyes Palette yet? Do these shades say summer to you? Do you like the tins better than the original packaging?

photo DSCN78112_zpsc1641267.jpgI absolutely love the Milani Shadow Eyez but a common complaint is “I want more neutrals!” & I’m definitely one of those hoping for more! Milani recently released a set of neutral shades called Naturally Chic but they’re all limited edition (BOO!) so I tried to choose some I knew I would use. I passed on a few shades: Golden Bronze, Cafe Au Lait, & Black Ink. I ended up picking up 3 shades & I’m really happy with them! I thought I’d compare them to some permanent jumbo eyeshadow sticks in my collection in case you wanted to get something similar or see what the difference was.

I sincerely love the formula of all the Milani Shadow Eyez pencils I own & use them as both eyeliners, eyeshadows, & sometimes as bases. I don’t have very oily lids but these last all day for me & I frequently use Champage Toast as my inner corner highlight. I really like this line & hope they made some of the neutrals permanent & maybe even come out with some more wild shades…like maybe a hot pink or a lilac?

These shades are all very creamy & pigmented. These blend nicely if you work quickly but they do completely set & become pretty much an immoveable force. Work fast!

Milani Shadow Eyez in Almond Cream- A matte vanilla/nude shade. I love this as a neutral base & it will help make eyes pop.

Milani Shadow Eyez in Sand Dunes- A soft champagne metallic. Pretty & different enough from my other highlights that I think it is a must have.

Milani Shadow Eyez in Espresso Lane- A rich matte brown. Possibly my favorite because it is so dark, rich, & just beautiful.

The Rimmel Scandal Eyeliner in Nude is my go-to shade to brighten up my eyes on the waterline so I was really excited to see a concealer-like shade to use as a  base. While very similar in texture, the
Milani shade is definitely cooler & more on the vanilla shade while the Rimmel has more yellow tones.

There are clear differences here but I wanted to show them side by side in case you were looking for a non-matte version or had the Rimmel & wondered how they compare. Besides the obvious finish difference the Milani is also darker & more dense.

I use the Milani Shadow Eyez in Champagne Toast all the time so I figured I couldn’t be the only one! Sand Dunes makes it look more rose gold. Sand Dunes is actually a bit thinner & more similar to the Pixi Pencil which I consider a thinner texture. You can build up the opacity it is just something I noted!

I am not positive but I assumed the Milani Liquid Eye Pencil in Black is probably similar to the jumbo eyeshadow stick in Black Ink from this Limited Edition collection. Because the liner is pretty much the same creamy texture & sets the same…I’m just going on assumptions. If you like this liner (or are interested in Black Ink) Rimmel has a permanent jumbo eyeshadow pencil in their Scandal Eyes line in the shade Blackmail is pretty similar. They both set & wear the same for me. I think the Milani liner might be a hair darker but they are very similar!

Overall I really love these shades! I might go pick up the other 2 shades besides Black Ink because I think the Rimmel Scandal Eyes is a close enough match for a black. Have you picked any of these shades up? Are you planning too? You can purchase these from the Milani website if you can’t find them in a store near you as well!

NEW Maybelline Color Tattoo Shades for Summer 2013 Swatches & Review

If you read my post on the new limited edition Maybelline Color Tattoo in Precious Pearl then you knew this post was coming. Maybelline Color Tattoos are just plain awesome, the only bad thing about them is that they can’t call be permanent! This collection brings about duochromes…let those angels sing. I passed on two shades (a yellow & an icy lavender) but I did pick up 5 which you can see below! [Read more…]
