Sephora Collection Outrageous Prisma Chrome Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe #6 Review, Swatches, & Eyeshadow Look

March 7, 2013 By StephanieLouise 513Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fsephora-collection-outrageous-prisma.htmlSephora+Collection+Outrageous+Prisma+Chrome+Metallic+Eyeshadow+in+Taupe+%236+Review%2C+Swatches%2C+%26+Eyeshadow+Look2013-03-07+13%3A51%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fsephora-collection-outrageous-prisma-chrome-metallic-eyeshadow-in-taupe-6-review-swatches-eyeshadow-look.html

Have you ever fallen in love with an eyeshadow? I’ve been there. & they so rarely break your heart (unless it is limited edition, breaks, or gets a formulation change…gasp!) I’m in love & it is limited edition so I’m informing you that you need to go get the Sephora Collection Outrageous Prisma Chrome Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe #6. This is apparently limited edition (I didn’t know that when I bought it) but when I saw it on Pink Sith’s blog post here was just too fabulous to pass up. She loves taupe too so we’re eyeshadow sisters.

 photo SephoraOutrageousTaupe_zps34e50f0c.jpg

You can see this doesn’t lean as brown in the pan but it comes out in the swatches. This comes in plastic packaging but it doesn’t feel cheap. I always like the clear window on top so I know what I’m looking for. The eyeshadow itself is quilted & it was a bit heartbreaking to ruin it. Pretty. I know this is $16 which I normally don’t pay for a single eyeshadow from a brand I haven’t played with in person but you also get 0.12 oz of product. For reference, that’s 0.05 oz in your common MAC shadow. Now $16 seems like a bargain eh? Especially because this is so pigmented that I barely need to use much.

 photo SephoraOutrageousTaupeSwatches_zpsef4309ad.jpg

Let’s talk about taupe. There is a lot of different kinds of taupe. This is glorious. This particular taupe is metallic & lays somewhere between cool brown & cool silver-y lilac-y grey. Its taupe, it isn’t hard to explain okay? What you DO need to know is how amazingly pigmented this is. I’ve swatched so you can see it both wet & dry.Top is foiled bottom is a light finger swatch.

 photo SephoraTaupePrismaEyeshadow_zps21320a4f.jpg
I did this eyeshadow look before filming my February 2013 Favorites video & my Glossybox February 2013 box video. You can check out how it looks on film there! & don’t forget to subscribe! I used it dry on my lid & dampened (or foiled if you prefer) on my crease. If it looks patchy at all it is because it is metallic & caught the light not because I go out lookin a hot mess.

 photo SephoraOutrageousTaupeface_zps7ac15bfb.jpg
 photo SephoraOutrageousTaupeface2_zps5b7e1dc0.jpg

Here it is…& yes the smile is real. Because I’m wearing taupe. A fabulous taupe. A taupe I wasn’t able to compare to any of my other taupes. TAUPE. It makes me happy.

So there you have it, a whole bunch of talking about this fabulous Sephora Collection Outrageous Prisma Chrome Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe #6 so hopefully you’ll appreciate it. The name is a bit ridiculously long, but I’ll allow it. After all, its taupe.

**I bought this shadow with my own money. Affiliate links have been used. I also linked to Pink Sith. She’s not giving me anything but she can if she wants to I suppose.

Urban Decay Glinda Oz the Great & Powerful Palette Set Review & Swatches

February 25, 2013 By StephanieLouise 523Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Furban-decay-glinda-oz-great-powerful.htmlUrban+Decay+Glinda+Oz+the+Great+%26+Powerful+Palette+Set+Review+%26+Swatches2013-02-25+23%3A36%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Furban-decay-glinda-oz-the-great-powerful-palette-set-review-swatches.html

 photo glinda1stphoto_zps1e53af52.jpg

Let’s start off with You need to buy this palette. Now that we’re off to a good start, let’s talk about why! This palette is from the Urban Decay Oz the Great & Powerful collection & there is also a Theodora set available which I’ll feature soon as well. I knew I needed both palettes & pre-ordered them. I’ve now had sufficient time to play with all of the shades & am excited to bring you my final thoughts. I also created an eyeshadow look on A Girl’s Gotta Spa featuring this palette so I urge you to check that out!

 photo DSCN3190_zps93c622e9.jpg
 photo DSCN3201_zpsff112ee6.jpg

Let’s start with the fabulous packaging. This is a hard metal case with a big mirror. Although this mirror doesn’t stand upright on its own (like my beloved Urban Decay Vice palette) it is a nice sturdy packaging & convenient. This is the palette I’ve been waiting for now that Urban Decay has moveable eyeshadows. I didn’t want to pay for the empty palette so I’m really happy they offered this as an option instead of their average Build Your Own Palette.

 photo DSCN3202_zpscdde38de.jpg
 photo DSCN3206_zpsa7117a4f.jpg

This kit contains 6 single eyeshadows & 2 of them are duos. I adore these duos & I definitely hope this is a preview of Urban Decay collections to come because I’d rather have this type of variety. This palette also comes with a small Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Rockstar which comes inside the palette instead of an applicator or brush. The final piece of the kit is an Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Glinda.

 photo DSCN3210_zps36e65379.jpg

Tornado- Deep purple with shimmer. Has a satin like application. Wonderful pigmentation.

 photo DSCN3211_zps7c57dfd4.jpg

Aura- One side is iridescent with a pink shift while the other has a blue/violet shift. I absolutely love both of these & they can transform any shade into something more exciting. Applied over black or a dark shade, they change the shade into something fabulous. & boy are these packed with the pigment. Worn alone, they give a sheer flashy color.

 photo DSCN3212_zpsa09ac7b3.jpg

Magic- A soft orchid pink with cool undertones & gold shimmer. I love this shade & I’m not big into pinks.

 photo DSCN3214_zpsb28f42d4.jpg

Illusion- Pale satin peach. A perfect base shade, highlight, or inner corner shade.

 photo DSCN3215_zps0ad8df30.jpg

Oz- A gold & silver duo. The gold side is a cool toned gold with lots of silver & gold chunk glitter. Lots of fallout & much like the old Urban Decay shades before they were reformulated. The silver side is super metallic & pigmented with a bit of silver glitter. Much less fallout but there is still a touch of it. The gold side is the only flaw in this palette for me & that would have easily been a favorite had it not contained the glitter.

 photo DSCN3216_zpsf517f0f4.jpg

South- Shimmering warm grey with a touch of taupe. Love this & it pulls a bit more taupe on my lid.

 photo DSCN3266_zpsfd018ae7.jpg

Left to right is Illusion, Magic, South, & Tornado. At the base is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner in Rockstar.

 photo DSCN3268_zpseec628cf.jpg

The Urban decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Rockstar is just alright. It is a blackened purple with works well with this palette but it isn’t as pigmented as some of my other eyeliners. I love their eyeliner in Perversion & which they’d reformulate them all to match that fantastic pigment & formula.

 photo DSCN3275_zps7e011998.jpg

On the left is the Aura duo & on the right is the Oz duo. Below is a swatch of the Urban Decay Super-Saturated High-Gloss Lip Color in Glinda.

 photo DSCN3279_zps5ad714f7.jpg

Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Glinda is gorgeous. I love the formulation on this & I haven’t tried a lip product from Urban Decay in ages. Shame on me. This is a lovely neutral light pink. Swatching it was tough so check out my lip swatch on my tutorial for A Girl’s Gotta Spa.

Everything about this set is delicate, feminine, & beautiful. While I feel like the Urban Decay Theodora Palette is probably a bit more wearbale for me personally, but these colors really do compliment my hair complexion. I want to see like a billion more shadows like Aura as well….they remind me of a Naked Cosmetics stack I slapped myself for not buying at IMATs this year. It also reminds a bit of this palette from Starlooks I absolutely love.

All in all, go buy this while you still can if it even gives you a twinge of want. For only $49 you get 6 full sized, unique shadows, the Build Your Own Palette, eyeliner, & lip color. A steal in comparison to buying things on their own even though everything but the eyeliner is limited edition. I love it which is rare for a palette only containing a few shades. Normally I prefer bigger palettes. They did this one right.

You can purchase the Urban Decay Glinda Oz the Great & Powerful Palette Set from both Sephora & Ulta for $49.

Have you tried this palette? Are you a Glinda or Theodora? What are your favorite shades?

NEW Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Sticks in Paranoid Purple, Blackmail, & Blamed Blue Review & Swatches

February 25, 2013 By StephanieLouise 524Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnew-rimmel-london-scandal-eyes_25.htmlNEW+Rimmel+London+Scandal+Eyes+Eyeshadow+Sticks+in+Paranoid+Purple%2C+Blackmail%2C+%26+Blamed+Blue+Review+%26+Swatches2013-02-25+20%3A52%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnew-rimmel-london-scandal-eyes-eyeshadow-sticks-in-paranoid-purple-blackmail-blamed-blue-review-swatches.html

 photo DSCN4318_zps3be3913a.jpg
Whew! Has this been a Rimmel lovefest lately around here or what? I am just so crazy impressed! I found 3 more shades of the Rimmel Scandal Eye Shadow Stick Crayons & these just might be my favorite shades yet! My prior review  swatched contained the shades Witness White, Bulletproof Beige, Gossip Green, Tempting Turquoise, Bad Girl Bronze, & Guilty Grey. Now we have what I think will be some of my most used shades!

 photo DSCN4311_zps50f656b0.jpg
 photo DSCN4324_zps2d1332d8.jpg
 photo DSCN4323_zpse8ff94ca.jpg

Blamed Blue- Shimmering bright darkened turquoise with teal shimmer. Possibly my very favorite shade because every time I look at it I’m hypnotized. Most opaque in 2 swipes.

Blackmail- A creamy matte black. This is most opaque in 2 swipes. Love this, it blows all of my kohl eyeliners out of the water for wear time.

Paranoid Purple- Blackened shimmering purple. Super smoky. Most opaque in 2-3 swipes. Super smoky. This shade seems to be softer than the other formulas so be careful when applying.

 photo DSCN4313_zps9563978e.jpg

Clearly…I love these. I also love the Rimmel Scandal Kohls Eyeliners which I originally reviewed here then reviewed more shades here. I actually finally got my hand on the shade (besides the nude shade which is life changing) that I’ve been waiting for. Blown away. These Rimmel Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks are good bases & fabulous eyeliners. The colors are stunning. I urge you to check these out.

 photo DSCN4327_zps2b4f6a07.jpg

I’ve found these at both CVS & Walgreens. It seems like they’re both getting some more stock here or there so if one store doesn’t have the shade you’re looking for yet, you might want to check another!

NEW Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Sticks Review & Swatches (6 Shades!)

February 16, 2013 By StephanieLouise 5361 Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnew-rimmel-london-scandal-eyes.htmlNEW+Rimmel+London+Scandal+Eyes+Eyeshadow+Sticks+Review+%26+Swatches+%286+Shades%21%292013-02-16+20%3A29%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnew-rimmel-london-scandal-eyes-eyeshadow-sticks-review-swatches-6-shades.html

photo 9e0233b2-c9d1-4d0b-98bf-9ab0c6a7f74b_zpsf21abc1a.jpgIf you’ve seen my first review of the 3 Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohls Eyeliners in some basic shades then you know I loved them SO much that I went out & bought a bunch more shades. In this new line & idea, Rimmel has come out with these jumbo eyeshadow pencils & I grabbed up 6 of them. I found these at Walgreens for approximately $5 each.

These pencils are supposed to be waterproof & last for 24 hours. I’m pretty impressed. Although I wish I had some matte/cream options ( I would KILL for the Nude Rimmel Scandal Eyeliner Pencil in a jumbo stick!) these are a wonderful starting point color-wise. I prefer all my jumbo eyeshadow pencils to be long wearing which is why I haven’t invested much into NYX shadow bases & why I love the Milani Shadow Eyez. These aren’t as thick as the Milani Shadow Eyez but I find them a lot easier to use because they’re thinner. They fade a bit around the 6-9 hour mark but not dramatically.

 photo DSCN3706-Copy_zps0cd36e11.jpg
These colors are all beautiful & I honestly think they’d each work on all skintones. Do be aware that they do set so if you want to blend, do it directly after application. These work well as bases but I especially love them under my lower lashline because my watery eyes don’t break them down. You will need a good eye makeup remover to get these off!

 photo DSCN3346-Copy_zps5523cfeb.jpg

Witness White: Frosty white. Not as opaque as the others. Better coverage with 2 layers.

Bulletproof Beige: Nude champagne slightly metallic. Nice pigmentation.

Gossip Green: Cool sage green with light sheen. Not as reflective. Great coverage.

Tempting Turquoise: Bright aqua with slight white shimmer. Not as reflective. Good coverage, 2 swipes for opacity.

Bad Girl Bronze: Warm chocolate with warm bronze shimmer. Great coverage.

Guilty Grey: Gunmetal grey with silver shimmer. Great even coverage.

For something bright, the Tempting Turquoise is impressive & the shade reminds me of my first Tarte purchase so long ago. Witness White & Bulletproof Beige both make awesome highlights & bases. I see myself using Bulletproof Beige more just because I totally love this shade & coverage. I love Gossip Green, it is super wearable & perfect for any season. I see myself rocking this a lot this spring. Bad Girl Bronze is the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze only warmed up & summer perfect. I’m so excited for this shade when it warms up some! For now, awesome liner shade & it makes my blue eyes pop! Guilty Grey is a great gunmetal (a shade I normally prefer to silvers) & makes the perfect base or liner for a smoky eye. Beautiful.

I know you guys have been excited to hear my thoughts on these so I hope you enjoyed the swatches & post! These are great drugstore additions & I honestly think they’re a steal for the price. I’ve spotted them in permanent display slots at Walgreens so you probably don’t need to track down any specialty displays! I’d love to hear what you think of the shades, jumbo pencils, & this line overall! Feel free to comment below!

Wet n Wild Flora & Fauna Overview & Swatches

February 13, 2013 By StephanieLouise 5434 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fwet-n-wild-flora-fauna-overview.htmlWet+n+Wild+Flora+%26+Fauna+Overview+%26+Swatches2013-02-13+15%3A06%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fwet-n-wild-flora-fauna-overview-swatches.html

I know this has been all over the blogosphere so I won’t go into too much detail. I picked mine up at Walgreens as I don’t live anywhere near a Rite Aid. As the packaging says, these are only $4.99. These are limited edition from Wet n Wild although a few items can be purchased from their displays. All of these were taken with artificial lighting. I wanted to show each item next to each other because if you just want one collection I figure this will make it easier to compare.
Let’s start with the 2 WnW Fast Dry Nail Colors as I was terribly excited for these. On the left is a brand new polish called Twining Vines. This appears to be a fierce green foil! On the right is Teal or no Teal which is part of the regular line.
Next are the two new trios. From left to right the trios are called Fauna & Flora.
Fauna has all shimmers including a champagne, blue that looks teal in certain lights, & purple that leans a bit lavender. I love these shades & although the purple isn’t as pigments I think I could easily apply it with more of a packing motion to achieve the color in the palette.
Flora has what appears to be a matte tangerine/orange, a medium shimmering green, & a lime/grass green packed with shimmer. Super creamy & pigmented.
Wet n Wild has had some form of tube gloss since I can remember…I think… These are Wet n Wild Glassy Gloss Lip Glasses in Mow the Glass & Glass Confusion.
Left to right are swatches of Glass Confusion & Mow the Glass.
I love Wet n Wild blushes so I was happy to have these smaller sizes.
Left to right: Fauna came with Pearlesant Pink & Flora came with Mellow Wine.
So what do you think of these collections? Has Wet n Wild wowed you? I’m glad I picked both of these up, especially for the price! Which set are you most interested in?

Valentine’s Day: These Are a Few of my Favorite *Pink* Things!

February 8, 2013 By StephanieLouise 550Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fvalentines-day-these-are-few-of-my.htmlValentine%27s+Day%3A+These+Are+a+Few+of+my+Favorite+%2APink%2A+Things%212013-02-08+23%3A26%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fvalentines-day-these-are-a-few-of-my-favorite-pink-things.html

photo PicMonkeyCollagepinkfavs_zps8852bd09.jpgThroughout the year, I’m not a hardcore pink gal. I look fine in pink, love me some pink cheeks, & I don’t have a bad relationship…we just aren’t besties. However, when Valentine’s Day rolls around, I embrace it. The softness of baby pink, the flash of hot pink, & the ease of neutral pinks are absolutely perfect for the holiday. I thought it would be fun to show you some of my favorite things…all of them pink of course. I tried to link to reviews & such for your convenience too so that’s what they will link to. Keep reading to see my picks for eyes, lips, cheeks, fragrances, nails, & more!

 photo DSCN3568_zps566e102c.jpg

Eyes: Some of my least worn eyeshadows are pink. I feel like they can be super tricky. When I want a perfect pink, these are the shades I real for. The Coastal Scents Palette is called Think Pink. A dozen beautiful shades & 8 of them are pink. The black is a favorite, it has pink shimmer. I didn’t swatch it but check out this eyeshadow look I did here using this palette that is definitely gloriously pink.

 photo DSCN3573_zpsde748534.jpg

Left to right: Jesse’s Girl Eye Dust in Pink Glitz, NYX Single Eyeshadow in Hot Pink, L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Glistening Garnet, & Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked in Pink.

 photo DSCN3538_zpsabe8a49e.jpg

Lips: Can you tell I love pink lips? I could show you half a billion lip products but instead I’ll show you some of my favorites of the moment…with swatches!

 photo DSCN3594_zps220113ae.jpg

Left to right: NYX Lipstick in Strawberry Milk, Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart, Maybelline Vivid Lipstick in Pink Pop, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Pretty Boy, & Victoria’s Secret Lip Liner in Tickled Pink.

 photo DSCN3605_zpsdb2ad379.jpg

Left to right: Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in Hope, Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Passion Fruit Pop, Anastasia Hydrafull Gloss in Heiress, & MAC Lipglass in Steal my Heart.

 photo DSCN3545_zps5bbc36ee.jpg

Cheeks: Pink cheeks? Of course! Here are 3 lovely shades each with a bit of a different tone. You’ll find one more fuchsia & deep, a shimmery neutral, a self adjusting hot pink, & the perfect everyday fair pink.

 photo DSCN3586_zps6b87052b.jpg

Left to right: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Flush, Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural, Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface, & (this one is much hotter in person before it adjusts!) Stila Custom Color Blush in Self-Adjusting Pink.

 photo DSCN3566_zps23bfd7c2.jpg

Fragrance: Aquofina Pink Sugar, Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Temptation, & Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola! perfumes. All of these are pink, girly, & super different. Pink Sugar is totally sweet & will make you smell like the best candy/baked good/sugary treat ever. VS Very Sexy Temptation is my newest aquired fragrance & boy is it aptly named! It smells so sexy & feminine, perfect for a date night! Oh, Lola! from Marc Jacobs is positively bright & perfect for daytime wear.

 photo DSCN3554_zps17025a5a.jpg

Nails: LEX Cosmetics Tuilleries, China Glaze Strawberry Fields, Zoya Chloe, & Milani Hot Pink. I’ll be swatching Strawberry Fields from China Glaze soon because it is a newer favorite but click the links above for swatches of the other 3!

 photo DSCN3560_zpsd472273b.jpg
Miscellaneous:

Carol’s Daughter Ectasy Shea Souffle: I got this in a Glossybox awhile back & although I didn’t think much of it at the time…I’ve since come to terms with my love. This smells like innocence with sugared strawberries. I’m absolutely in love & the texture is divine. This super light scent is perfection. I’ll be picking up a new container & also a fragrance soon!

Beauty Blender: I don’t think I need to explain this fabulous pink sponge soon! This is a backup as I use them until they completely beg for mercy & just seeing it in all that hot pink glory makes me oh so happy. The perfect way to apply foundation, sheer out thick foundation, & give a natural look. I haven’t found a dupe…& you know I’ve tried.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush: I love dry shampoo. When my fine hair just won’t do what I want it gives me volume. When I have extra oils, it eliminates them. & honestly, it often just makes my hair look generally better. Batiste Dry Shampoo is fabulous in every scent but Blush is really something special. Super feminine & floral it will instantly make you feel all girly inside.

Anastasia Hypercolor Hair Powder In The Pink: I love this color so much & I feel so rocker glam when I use it. I’m not even going to talk about it anymore…GO LOOK HERE!

Well there we have it!  Turns out…I kind of love pink! What are your favorite pink products? Are there any int his post you’d like to try? What makes you think of Valentine’s Day?

**Some items were sent for consideration of review while most were bought with my own funds. All opinions are my own.

So I’m hoping you caught my original post where I reviewed the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners in Black, Brown, & Sparkling Black because they are simply the bee’s knees. Seriously, they are no joke & have quickly found their way into my daily stash. Keep reading to see swatches of these much more colorful shades!

Now if you are anything like me, you’ve been on the hunt for the perfect eyeliner (under $15 preferably) that can do it all. Creamy enough for the waterline, long lasting enough that it doesn’t need touched up, & intense enough to satisfy my obsessive need for a great line. These totally blew me away. Seriously, look back at how black that black is! Plus, these can be found for around $5.

Nude: A super creamy warm peachy nude.

Silver: Metallic silver, can be opaque. No glitter.

Purple: A medium purple, not quite as opaque as the others. Light bits of silver shimmer.

Turquoise: A cool light blue with a slightly frosted metallic finish.

My favorite of all 4 shades is definitely the nude, I feel like I’ve been looking for it all my life! This super creamy shade reminds me of NARS Rue Bonaparte with a much easier to manage price tag. I have used this liner multiple times but much prefer the Rimmel version. It is creamier & lasts longer. If you look dull around the eyes (often an issue for me) then this will be a major find for you. Don’t freak if it looks odd up close because ones you step back from the mirror you’ll see it brightens rather nicely.

The silver is a close second because it is super creamy & blendable but sets magnificently like all of these shades do. The purple is sheerer than the others but you can apply a second layer for full opacity. Turquoise (which I definitely feel leans more light blue) is a nice shade for a pop of color. I can see this getting a nice amount of use this summer!

I purchased these from Walgreens on a permanent display. That’s super exciting because it was the first time I’d seen them there on the wall instead of on a single display with the jumbo sticks. I’ll be showing those to you next…you’ll love them I bet! For such a small price, these are a serious find. I’ve been impatiently waiting for these ever since UK bloggers (who get Rimmel products first) shared them. Rimmel is quickly becoming my favorite brand!

NEW Styli-Style It’s A Breeze! Cooling Gel Eye Shadow Pencils Swatches & Review

So far I’ve covered these awesome blush sticks & the long-wearing semi-permanent eyeliners from Styli-Style & now I have some shadow sticks! While both products prior were definitely something I feel like drugstore brands are lacking, these shadow sticks are a total blast from the past! Read on for swatches & a comparison to an old favorite!

When I think back to middle school, blue eyeshadow was all the rage. My weapon of choice? Maybelline Cool Effects Shadow Liner in a VERY frosty blue variety. Man, that’s the stuff. Nostalgia all the way. I haven’t seen anything since that even remotely compared to those pencils but Styli-Style has managed to recreate a similar product with vast improvements!

Top is Styli-Style Cooling Gel Eye Shadow in Aqua Forever & bottom is Star Bright.

Aqua Forever: Described as “Teal” on the site I find it is much more than that! The base is definitely teal but it almost has a seafoam green quality to it. There is a fair green/gold shimmer deep beneath. It translates as a satin.

Star Bright: This is described as a”Gold” but I see this more as a warm vanilla. Perfect base or inner corner highlight. Translates a semi-metallic satin.

There are so many differences between these & the Maybelline CEs but the standout is definitely lasting power. When applied, this is very cool. Not cool as in hip & with it but icey. Neat feeling really & much like my old crush from Maybelline. This is a sharpenable jumbo pencil with a plastic cap. You can see the shade on the cap so you can find them easily. That’s where the similarities end though because Styli-Style blows them out of the water.

After applying, you have a bit of time to blend these whether you’d like a sheer base or to blend with other shades. After about 1-2 minutes though, these actually set! You can rub your finger against them when swatched on your hand & there is a light shimmer transfer but the color remains sturdy. They aren’t so long wearing that they are difficult to remove & if you have oily lids I recommend a base if wearing them alone. I really love these 2 shades & definitely want to check out some more!

Do you remember Styli-Style? Do you use jumbo eyeshadow sticks & if so, how? I have more to show you including some more eyeliners, lip paints, & glitter lip stains!
