Pixi is one of those brands I recommend to everyone. You can pick it up at Target, it is affordable, & it tends to perform like something you’d buy at a high-end store. From the cute but functional packaging to innovative products most people can afford, Pixi tends to really impress me. Check out some new-to-me products from Pixi including the nail polish shade Gilded Garnet, Correction Concealer in Brightening Peach, & more! [Read more…]
Have brow problems? Me too. It is a sad fact but I try to be as upfront about it as I can on the blog especially. Because you guys understand me. I’ve tried & reviewed so many brow products recently (check out a bunch here) but I seem to be always on the lookout for the very best. & when it comes it beauty I always recommend It Cosmetics. As a brand It Cosmetics is a league of beautifying scientific geniuses so when I had the opportunity to check out the new-ish It Cosmetics Build-A-Brow Waterproof 5-in-1 Micro-Fiber Creme Gel Stain & It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Build-A-Brow Brush #12 I was all about that eyebrow life. I don’t review extremely disappointing products often…but when I do I tend to rock out to angry music & really throw a tantrum. With all the beautiful makeup available in every single price range, I tend to get a bit angry when I spend money on garbage. & it is rare I call something trash or garbage too. Because of my DIY nature, I tend to go with the “make it work” anthem we learned so long ago from Project Runway. But sometimes…sometimes you just need to throw things. Meet the LA Girl USA Beauty Brick Eyeshadow Collection in Neons. [Read more…]
What are you up to this year for New Year’s Eve? Normally we celebrate in a pretty laid back way- but of course I like my makeup to look FIERCE!
When I think of NYE, I always want to bring out my best features. You’re probably thinking, “Stephanie, shouldn’t that be all the time?” & okay you might have a point. What I mean is that NYE tends to be the closest I get to “clubbing” since we’re such lame 20-somethings. I love the lighting & the glitz- much of which tends to reflect highlighter like the best spotlight ever. Using some items from the Mirabella Beauty Faerie Holiday Collection, I’m going to demo how to really get your glow on & especially make blue eyes pop- because that’s what I love to do.
In anticipation of travel, I’ve been trying to sift through new & standby products for more compact face options. I recently made a huge Sleek order & picked up a lot of palettes…including the one I want to chat about today!
I bought it. Affiliate links.
One of the items I most wanted to try was the Sleek Face Form Contouring & Blush Palette in Light. I had seen someone say that the shade “Fair” had a blush that barely showed up so “Light” was the next option for my pale skin. [Read more…]
I didn’t grow up on Clinique products but they have certainly grown on me over the years. Since finding my absolute favorite moisturizer in their brand I’ve started branching out through their skincare & into makeup. Slowly but surely I knew I would make my way to the cult favorite shade Black Honey in some form…& today I’m sharing with you quite a few! After reading a bit about the history of the specific shade I thought a linkup with other beauty lovers would be amazing- different looks & different ages all showing how we wear Clinique’s Black Honey. Since this shade is supposed to be flattering on everyone I thought we would put it to the test!
For a bit of background, Clinique’s Black Honey is their best selling shade of their Almost Lipstick line ever. In fact, Clinique ships one tube of this lipstick every 2 minutes. EVERY 2 minutes. There is a lot of history behind this shade but also a good bit of logical science. Black Honey has remained a best-selling shade for the past decade but was actually released first in 1971. The shade was added to the Clinique Almost Lipstick range in 1989 (the year I was born, were we meant to be or what?) & has spanned generations of women. The color itself is comprised of red, blue, yellow, & orange pigments that mix in a sheer base despite the deep shade you see in the tube. Each woman should have her very own custom color straight from the tube- for every age & ethnicity. With well over 1,000 reviews on Makeup Alley I just had to see why this shade has endured. Have you ever gone through a string of absolutely terrible skin days? I have had a rough skin month or two. More like two. I’ve really needed to subdue redness but I don’t always like the look of full coverage. The Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation is my answer to the redness while keeping my skin looking like…skin! Check out my full review & demo below! [Read more…]
This little baby has been on my brows a lot lately- & with good reason. The NYX Eyebrow Gels are not only the first of their kind from the drugstore…but also a close dupe to the pricier Make Up For Ever options. I’ve actually had this shade for months & it was perfect in the humid months- they really last! I’ve found my favorite way to apply & lots of details which will be below! [Read more…]
I’ve been on the hunt for new foundations for some time now. My skin changes pretty drastically season to season & more recently I’ve been dealing with some new issues. & not the fun ones. I’ve been getting awful dry patches, my eczema has been flaring something fierce, & on top of that my pores aren’t looking too hot. Not exactly a dream come true when combined with the whatever the heck it feels like weather going on around here lately either. Then in walks in the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation– & she has rocked my world.
