She Wears It Well Palette from Anastasia of Beverly Hills Swatches & Review
This nude eyeshadow trend is taking over & I’m bathing in it. Seriously. Shimmery, matte, metallic…I’ll take em. Nudes are just so timeless, I urge you to find a more classic look with eyeshadows that can be worn day & night, work & play, & everywhere in between. Go nude or go home.
The She Wears it Well kit from Anastasia of Beverly Hills is no exception to the obsession & has some unique additions as well. First, these shades can be worn dry OR wet giving you 18 shades instead of 9. Woohoo! Double your money & color selection. Another note is the brush which is what I’ll be using to create my eye look from this palette this week/ I honestly love it. Its small, precisely what a palette needs, & is anything but a throwaway.
From the Anastasia of Beverly Hills site:
Classic Hollywood glamour with modern moxie. Nude meets knockout with these nine pigment-rich, matte and shimmer shadows that give your eyes enough sophisticated smolder to woo them, every time.
No matter how you wear them, you’re sure to wear them well.

Glow- shimmering (almost metallic even dry) golden bronze
Latte- shimmery peachy nude
Foxy- shimmering (again almost metallic even dry) coppery brown
Sunset- a shimmering gold with bronzey hues
Frosting- shimmery pink
Almond- a very light nude…its more pigmented but honestly blends into my skin
Onyx- a matte black (any shimmer you see is overspray from other shades)
Toffee- a rich medium brown

Please keep in mind all swatches are on BARE skin, NO primer. Each applied like butter. Almond was a bit less buttery but still easy to apply & blend. Great base shade for my coloring. The shadows make my blue eyes pop like crazy! First photo is dry swatches & second is wet ones after they’ve dried. I swatched them as they appear in the palette. At $34 the She Wears It Well palette is more reasonable than many others out there currently. The shades are versatile & I love that they can all be worn wet or dry. I especially love using wet shadows as a liner, pigment galore.I think they really listened to what feedback was given for other palettes because 1/3 of the shades are matte including a black. This was a common complaint. Also, I love that Sunset is large since I always fear “running out of that main shade” & then the palette becomes less inviting to use. The huge mirror, pigmentation of shades is superb, & the packaging is sturdy while still being different from everything else I own. If you love nudes as much as I do or if you’ve been looking for a palette that makes getting ready effortless, I urge you to check this out.
The She Wears it Well Palette from Anastasia of Beverly Hills is available from their website & Sephora.
First Look: Coastal Scents Creative Me #1 Palette Eyeshadows!
So this isn’t a review..yet. This is one of many of my Coastal Scents palettes involving the “hot pot” method & I haven’t shown them yet. I’m slowly but surely testing them out but I want to show you the basics. This is the Creative Me #1 Palette from Coastal Scents & it really is lovely.
So why am I showing you this? When I went to IMATS LA 2012 I passed by the Coastal Scents booth & bought this palette. I also checked out all the new single hot pots coming out & was impressed. Not all of them were as pigmented as I’d like but some of them blew my expectations out of the water. Basically, I have a new single eyeshadow obsession. I have a huge amount of Coastal Scents palettes now including one just for singles. Excited to share them with you!

So what do you think of the shades in this palette? Have you tried any Hot Pots from Coastal Scents yet? There are tons of colors & pre-made palettes available on their website which is where I bought mine! Look for a detailed review with swatches coming up! XO
Review: Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat from Anastasia Beverly Hills
Have you ever gotten a product & thought to yourself: Where have you been all my life? That’s pretty much what happened when I started testing out Lash Genius from Anastasia Beverly Hills. When I explain this product to you its totally one of those “how is it this hadn’t been invented until now?” moments as well.
From Anastasia Beverly Hills: “Waterproof when you want it to be. Lash Genius Clear Waterproof Topcoat instantly waterproofs, refreshes, and protects any mascara all day, without the typical drying or clumping. It’s advanced, lightweight formula glides on smooth, dries quickly, and gives your lashes a touchably soft lacquer finish that lasts all day. Dermatologist-tested. Hypoallergenic, Paraben Free, Fragrance Free.”
What it is: A clear, waterproof top coat that transforms ANY mascara you’re wearing into a waterproof wonder.
I love this. Its lightweight so it doesn’t mess around with my mascara & it doesn’t add that weird shine I don’t like either. As much as I love eyelash primers, I oh-so rarely use them because I feel like the white is never COMPLETELY covered. Clear. Brilliant.
I have put this to the test with some of my favorite mascaras that aren’t waterproof & it definitely held up its end of the bargain! I don’t always love waterproof mascaras, sometimes they just don’t feel right. Know what I mean? My lashes looked fab morning to night, even through a chick flick or two. Plus, it didn’t bother my poor allergy eyes. Impressed? Yes, yes I am.
Where you can get it: I believe this is available at Sephora but since I don’t shop there I recommend getting the Lash Genius off the Anastasia Beverly Hills website. Its $21 & worth every penny. Whether you use drugstore mascaras or high-end, I find many waterproof versions just aren’t good. This totally saves me touch-ups, money, & lots of frustration. Worth. Every. Penny.
Eyes: Mahya Barbie, Candy Girl, & Jewell Holo Glitter!
I finally have a hot pink Barbie worthy look…using a pink that’s actually called Barbie! Mahya Minerals is a favorite of mine & definitely sparked a lot of interest with readers when mentioned. Jewell took me awhile to put into a look I really love, in case you missed it swatched here with the other Mahya glitters. Candy Girl was only used as a sheer highlight but its lovely as well 🙂 On my lips is Mahya Mineral Lip Shine in Candy Girl.
So holo eye glitters are difficult to photograph, but I did my best! It really came out lovely & vibrant. I used the Mahya Glitter Adhesive in little dots & tapped Jewell onto those areas, pressing lightly with my pinkie. This is seriously an amazing glitter glue.
What do you think of this look? How about holo eye-safe glitter, are you lemming for it? All of these products mentioned are available from the Mahya Minerals site. They are also running a 30% off for 4th of July!
Mahya Minerals Sugar Plum & Starry Night Eyeshadow Look
Wow! I didn’t expect Twilight to be this big of a hit with me but man did it blow me away! Sugar Plum is ridiculously stunning, very much like dragon scales. It goes on a lot like something I expect from a gothic collection, devastatingly beautiful. Its a deep well marooned red with a bit of a green iridescence. Its also insanely pigmented, especially over the Mayha eyeshadow base which I used here. I applied Starry Night in the outer corner. In case you missed my review & swatches of the Mahya Glitters this is one that is mixed with pigment. It is a blackened grey, smoky pigment with silver & dark grey/pewter glitter. This also went on seamlessly. Love love love everything about this combo. & now for pictures!
So what do you think of my combo? Would you rock it? Are you feeling the somewhat goth vibe? Would you rock these shades?
Anastasia See & Be Seen Kit Review & Swatches
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to play with & review the Anastasia Beverly Hills See & Be Seen Kit. This is a Limited Edition set so I URGE you to pick it up ASAP if you like what you see! You only have a few weeks so jump on it! This set is worth $80 but you can pick it up for only $44 right now! You get 2 full size glosses, tinted brow gel, & an eyeshadow duo. Keep reading for swatches & overall thoughts!
I love this duo! These shades are very smooth & easy to blend. Far right swatches are one swipe & the 2 on the left are blended. These are super pigmented & because the colors are so wearable, these will look fab on everyone. I love the golden bronze shade especially, my blue eyes do too! The warm, shimmering taupe is obviously a winner for me…hello…taupe. The duo is called “On Set” & is totally worth checking out.
These Hydrafull Glosses are INCREDIBLE. The top shade is Heiress & the lighter shade is called Plastic. These are EXCLUSIVE to the See & Be Seen Kit so if you love them, this kit is a must have. These glosses are really pigmented, gorgeous shades, & really comfortable to wear. These somehow manage to be way moisturizing while also being long-wearing. On a random note…I never knew I loved a paddle applicator so much! It makes it so easy to apply!
The Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel was kind of a random addition to this kit but it works well for me. Some of my darker haired beauty blogger friends are upset though, hello, not the right shade! I hope maybe next time they will include clear or something more versatile? Anyway, onto the product! This is wonderfully lightweight for a gel, it almost feels kind of like a mousse. This was really long lasting as well. It left my brows in place but not with a sticky texture.
So that is the Anastasia See & Be Seen Kit in all of its glorious-ness! Its gorgeous, varied, & has the perfect shades for summer! What do you think of this kit? Have you tried any Anastasia products? What are your faves?
NEW L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow Shades in Endless Sea, Bottomless Java, Golden Emerald, & Glistening Garnet Swatches (PIC HEAVY!)
Ready for a serious case of the “I Wants”? Ever since other people have started getting their hands on the 6 new shades L’Oreal released for summer from the Infallible Eyeshadow line I’ve been cursing to be without them. In person, I passed on 2/6 which were the shades Liquid Diamond & Smoldering Plum. I passed up a purple? I know I know hold your sighs & shock until the end though! The Liquid Diamond shade was a silver-y lilac type shade & I liked it but didn’t NEED it. Smoldering Plum was DARK & because I already have Perpetual Purple which is absolutely stunning, this one didn’t blow me away.
This left me with Bottomless Java, Golden Emerald, Endless Sea, & Glistening Garnet. All of these are MUST-HAVES & absolutely, incredibly, undoubtedly stunning. These have been spotted at many locations but I personally found mine on a wall display (NOT a shelf display!) at Walgreens for $7.99 each.
So, somehow beyond me, I’ve only featured Perpetual Purple from the L’Oreal Infallible line on my blog as a main post! & I did it TWICE! Once was for my Birthday Smoky Eye & the 2nd was the actual test for my husband’s military ceremony. SHAME on me! So I will go into more detail about these for those unfamiliar & do a FULL collection review when I get back. How’s that sound? Fair?
These have wonderful packaging for me personally. Although I like the normal square or circle packaging, these have a very stable base & lid. I also REALLY like being able to see the shade on both the top label & the window on the bottom. Makes finding these 110% easier. These come with a little push-down things (shown in first picture in post) that you keep inside that re-condenses the products after it becomes loose. Brilliant.
Here is the product itself in each color. First picture is in natural shade, second is with flash to bring out tones you can’t really see otherwise in the packaging.
ENDLESS SEA: An aqua shade that leans turquoise when heavily applied & in darker areas. Glimpses of blue, gold, green, & even lavender can be seen. Perfect name for this shade as it reminds me of the Greek Isles or the Caribbean.
BOTTOMLESS JAVA: A deep brown laden with bronzey shimmer. The second picture is actually way more accurate to the swatch than the first which looks creamier. This looks RICH. When swatched, I actually catch some purple/pink tones up close. Greens too. VERY complex.
GOLDEN EMERALD: A kelly green with heavy doses of gold. Gorgeous! Ultra rich & looks like the gold is glitter its so pigmented. When it catches the light, you can catch all the different shades of green that make up the shade & the gold is breathtaking.
GLISTENING GARNET: A very red based pink with a lilac flash in sunlight. This has been described as everything from a pink to a burgundy to a red in some case. People aren’t making up their minds! Check out the difference here & how gorgeous & different that purple sheen is!
For reference: NONE of the swatches have been color corrected or such edited at all other than cropping. They really are this fantabulous.
Can you tell I love them? That they’re gorgeous? That these shades are instant favorites? What do you think? Will you be searching for them? I’m NOT sure if they are Limited Edition or if they will be added to the core shades..but as soon as I find out I will let you know! Any favorites?
Review: Frownies Combo Rose Water Hydrator Spray & Eye Gel Patches
I have been fighting the dark circles. No wait, battling them! They keep popping up probably due to stress. I’ve had a lot going on lately & there they are to prove it. I recently received a kit from Frownies to review (more on the rest of it later on) & these were the stand out product. I wanted to review them earlier but reminded myself it needed a bit more time.
From the Frownies Website:
Eye Gels: Use your first set of Eye Gels three night in a row, then use them once a week for best results.
With one 30 minute treatment 100% of women testing Frownies eye gels saw a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and dark circles.
Eye Gels can be reused when kept moist with Rose Water Hydrator.
Rose Water Hydrator: Frownies’ Hydrator Spray can be used as a daily beauty plumper and toner. After cleansing use Rose Water on the entire face, neck and décolletage to prepare skin for other products or cosmetics. Rose Water Hydrator Spray will compliment the pH balance of the skin and further reduce the appearance of pore size as it begins to plump fine lines and wrinkles. Rose Water from essential oil of rose is an antibacterial wrinkle treatment and helps prevent blemishes on the skin. Rose Water Hydrator with hyaluronic acid is a wonderfully refreshing pick up after exercising, during air travel or anytime a warm dry environment threatens to dehydrate and age skin.
You get them in a foil packet (shown above) then after your first use you place them back inside, mist it with with included Rose Water Hydrator spray, pop it in a plastic bag, & then store it in your fridge.
I must admit, I didn’t have high hopes for this product. I stick to cold, raw potato slices normally. Its no wonder cold helps as it reduces swelling. To my surprise, these feel wonderful. The gel sticks under your eyes although it is already a formed shape. These eventually slowly disintegrate after many uses (I used them 6-7 times) & in between you simply store them until the next use. They are nice & cool but not as harsh as ice cubes. They definitely help with swelling & I did notice my undereyes to be a bit less blue.
The Rose Water Hydrator is the standout for me. I love refreshing spray to make my makeup look less “done” & this has added benefits for all kinds of skin ailments. I didn’t notice it helping me with breakouts but it did make my skin feel lovely! I found my skin hydrated & feeling nice & supple. Love this product! Much better than your average water spray 🙂
Eyes: Mahya Turquoise & Fairy Tale + Citrine Glitter
Here is my first eye look featuring the Mahya glitter I reviewed & raved about a few days ago. I’m also using Mahya eyeshadows in Turquoise & Fairy Tale. The glitter featured is Citrine which is probably the most muted of the bunch.
First, let’s look at these two shadows without the glitter. I love Turquoise & I always feels so ethereal wearing this shade. The color shift is gorgeous & Fairy Tale is blended lightly as my highlight. I love this combo! The 2nd 2 photos were taken in shade so you an see Turquoise shifts in pretty much any lighting…woo!
Citrine was applied only to the bottom portion of my eye with the Mahya Eye Glitter Gel. This held wonderfully & I used an angled eyeliner brush that isn’t stiff enough to apply the glue to the exact area while not applying too much or too little.
What do you think of this eye look? Don’t forget, if you have an color requests to pair with the glitters just let me know! How do you wear glitter usually?
