Starlooks Starbox for September 2012 (My First One!)

October 1, 2012 By StephanieLouise 693Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F10%2Fstarlooks-starbox-for-september-2012-my.htmlStarlooks+Starbox+for+September+2012+%28My+First+One%21%292012-10-01+14%3A35%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F10%2Fstarlooks-starbox-for-september-2012-my-first-one.html

Photobucket

So if you haven’t heard the buzz about the Starbox from the makeup company Starlooks, it is definitely worth learning about! This is a subscription box for $15 a month that sends out FULL-SIZE products from the Starlooks line! If you haven’t seen their products before, I urge you to check out some videos on youtube. My favorite unboxing guru is thesassiwench who also has a blog as well! For the September box, I was incredibly blown away as it contained a product similar to one I had wanted to buy at IMATS but was sold out…read on, you won’t regret it!

Photobucket
Photobucket

So I was a bit thrown off when I got my Starlooks box because although I had never HAD one physically, I had watched numerous unboxings. Their packaging is now white, which threw me for a loop in the video so I hope that explains my mumbling haha.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Here’s a closer look at what the inside of my box looked like + the beautiful crystals. I had the hardest time photographing those tiny stones but PLEASE know they are absolutely lovely! I hope you can see the opal glow a bit!

Photobucket
Photobucket

Let’s look at the eye primer first! So this comes in a pot which I love. I know some people prefer eye primers in a tube but I actually love min in jars since I apply with a clean finger 99% of the time anyway. Plus, then you can take a spatula & get out every tiny bit as opposed to performing surgery on a tube as to not waste expensive product.

Photobucket

I’ve been using it for a few days now & I am quite impressed. As I stated in the video so eloquently (HA!) it doesn’t have that weird primer smell. WIN! It is a nice light primer, I can’t feel it on my lids at all after it sets up. It works as any primer does for eyes by making shadows last longer. The packaging is a nice, heavy glass which makes it feel more luxe.

Photobucket
Photobucket

I think I made it very clear that this palette is pretty remarkable in the video. Without repeating what I said 100 times again, this is definitely one of the things I’ve been looking for SO long. I just lucked into it, who would have thought? This is very similar to the very expensive NAKEDS stack I was planning to pick up at LA IMATS. When I had finally convinced myself to bite the bullet (ok it took maybe 2 seconds of convincing) they had been sold out since the day before.

Photobucket
Photobucket

I actually prefer this in a palette I think because you really won’t need very much. I think the swatches pretty much speak for themselves. I swatched each shade over a black gel liner then on its own to the right.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
This was just one quick swatch of each shade, no blending. Do pictures speak louder than words or what? These are just too beautiful. I mean seriously, I adore. In fact, I left them swatched for hours because I am that distracted by shiny, beautiful things. I hope these go up on their site for purchase because if they ever make more shades, I’d love to pick them up. They act as transformers (as explained in the video) so they are super versatile.

So all in all, I was really impressed with this box! For $15 a month, you KNOW you’re getting full sized products which is what a lot of people are asking me to find in a sample box. Although Starlooks is still a relatively new brand to me, I definitely think they’re on the right track. All of the packaging felt very sturdy & reminiscent of higher end brands. Some of the things I judge are the outside feel, if the labels seem like they will wear off, closures, & general logic of packaging.Plus, their added bonus items are lovely!

I love that they have their own store as well, but I haven’t found these 2 products on there yet. Maybe they came out in the boxes first? That’d be pretty cool. One thing to note is that until they sell out, you can purchase PAST boxes HERE. How cool is that? Because the $15 box is usually quite a bit cheaper than full-sized products. From what I’ve calculated, these boxes are a great savings. Obviously this is my first box so I’m not sure about the past boxes, but they seem to be on par with this one. However, if you buy a PAST box, it is $25 instead of the regular $15.

Who do I think will like Starbox? If you hate foil packets, want full sized products, & are looking to try ONLY cosmetics then this is what you have been waiting for! I am so glad to finally be able to show you girls an ONLY cosmetics box, whew! Been a long time coming eh? I hope you’ll check them out & feel free to post your first reactions below!

Spookfest 2012: ELF Maleficent Sinister Smoky Eye Book Review + Swatches

September 28, 2012 By StephanieLouise 694Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F09%2Fspookfest-2012-elf-maleficent-sinister.htmlSpookfest+2012%3A+ELF+Maleficent+Sinister+Smoky+Eye+Book+Review+%2B+Swatches2012-09-28+19%3A36%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F09%2Fspookfest-2012-elf-maleficent-sinister-smoky-eye-book-review-swatches.html

Photobucket

So if you caught my post earlier showing off the Evil Queen Palette Book (Snow White’s Evil Queen!) then you already knew this what coming. What you might NOT know if that I’m a Sleeping Beauty Fanatic! I love pretty much everything about the movie/story/tale including the villain, Maleficent. She’s pretty tremendously awesome. Now this palette…well..it is too. Really. You have to check this out.

This is such an awesome mix of shades, especially for a smoky eye. I’m pretty sure there are some dupes in here as well. Not one of these shades is a dud either, woohoo! The only item I wasn’t crazy about was the glitter liner…of all the villains I think she deserved some fabulous liquid liner right? If you want to read about my thoughts on the Evil Queen palette/book, I also cover the basics such as the flap, the lip/cheek pencils, & some things I would have changed.

Photobucket
Photobucket
In comparison of one of my regular ELF books.

Now let’s look at the packaging which really is the star of these books right? I mean really, they are super. I am majorly impressed & love the fold out & flipping options. Win for ELF.

Photobucket

So like I explained in the Evil Queen post, the mirror page has different detailing. While the Queen had her apple, Maleficent has something a bit more sinister. Her saying below the mirror is Cast Your Shadowy Spell… & it has a dragon above the words & a crow on the upper right of the mirror. I love me some classics.

Inside you’ll find your day & night looks.

Photobucket

Day Evil- For a strikingly spellbound look

Photobucket

Night Villain- For a look that is ferociously fierce

Photobucket

Photobucket
Photobucket

Now onto the shades! Note the absolute fabulous-ness of the shade names! Maleficent indeed! I swatched ALL of these shades over the included primer. I rarely swatch shades over primer (unless I think they desperately deserve a chance) but since these kits CAME with a primer, I used it!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Left to right in the photo: The ELF Lip & Cheek Color (no name) blended, Spindle, Sceptre, Fog of Doom, & Fauna. Below is the ELF Lip & Cheek Color in one swipe.
DAY EVIL
Spindle- A pinky nude. This looks shimmery in the pan & nearly matte on the hand out of light. It has a slight sheen, very pretty.
Sceptre- Shimmering champagne taupe.
Fog of Doom- Looks blue in the pan but it is a blurple for sure. It isn’t very pigmented but it is buildable.
Fauna-  This one isn’t super pigmented either but it too is buildable. This is a grey toned cool medium green with small hints of silver.
ELF Lip & Cheek Color- Rosy mauve.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Left to right in the photo: The ELF Lip & Cheek Color (no name) blended, Misfortune, Forrest of Thorns, Deep Sleep, & Diablo. Below is the ELF Lip & Cheek Color in one swipe.
NIGHT VILLAIN
Misfortune- Wonderfully pigmented grayed silver. Metallic.
Forest of Thorns- Nicely pigmented medium gray with lots of silver shimmer. Bonus- You can actually see the silver sparkles!
Deep Sleep- A red based raisin/purple. It isn’t overly pigmented, but it is gorgeous.
Diablo- A seriously pretty black with pink/purple shimmers. You can SEE these shimmers, gorgeous.
ELF Lip & Cheek Color- A wearable purple toned medium pink. Kind of wish this was a vibrant plum! That’s totally on my list for Fall!

These are available at Walgreens for $10 each. I think it is a bit pricey, but that’s just how it is! Some quick notes: I wish it included a gloss for day or night! I actually like glosses normally so I wish we had gotten one. Also, a full sized eye primer! I mean, they are only $1 each full sized, why the mini? Sadly, I’m not a fan of the liquid liner…it just isn’t thick & I don’t think it will be all that noticeable on the eye. Plus…does Maleficent strike you as a snowglobe glitter type of gal?

These lashes are way different from the Evil Queen ones, they’re kinda huge! In fact, they’re so big I thought they were feather lashes. I haven’t applied them yet. I actually like the lip liner shades but kind of bummed they want them to double as cheek colors. I find lipstick or a stain works a lot better for this as rubbing in the harsh lines rubs away the foundation beneath.

Now, these have the official Disney label on them, much like the EOS Alice in Wonderland balms I reviewed earlier. I’m seeing more & more Disney drugstore collaborations…& I love them! MORE MORE MORE! I would absolutely go nuts if they released 3 palettes for the fairies in Sleeping Beauty, Flora, Fauna, & Merryweather. Would you guys dig that as well?

If you are digging this palette/book, snag it while you can! It is limited edition (from what I’ve read) & they have definitely been selling out at many Walgreens stores. What do you think of these? Do you like the Evil Queen or Maleficent book better?

Spookfest 2012: ELF Evil Queen Devious Dramatic Eyes Book Review + Swatches

September 28, 2012 By StephanieLouise 695Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F09%2Fspookfest-2012-elf-evil-queen-devious.htmlSpookfest+2012%3A+ELF+Evil+Queen+Devious+Dramatic+Eyes+Book+Review+%2B+Swatches2012-09-28+16%3A11%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F09%2Fspookfest-2012-elf-evil-queen-devious-dramatic-eyes-book-review-swatches.html

Photobucket

If you love villains, you need to start stalking your Walgreens! This is the “Evil Queen” edition but I also picked up the Maleficent (my favorite!) one which I’ll be showing you later on today. There was one other book as well which was Cruella…which I passed on. I think it will be really popular because it is so neutral but I didn’t feel like it was super special. Now let’s see what is inside the Evil Queen book!

Photobucket

So, let’s look at the packaging! I think that is what this palette is all about right? Besides the eyeshadows of course! The front is adorable with a great picture of the Evil Queen. I also left the sticker of the inside contents on it as well. Something to note is the little bands at the opening corners. LOVE THESE. I so wish all their books had them so you could keep them closed!

Photobucket

Inside, you have the mirror which isn’t fabulous but I still like it for what is underneath. Below the mirror it says “Mirror, Mirror on the wall…” with some little drawings. Each book has it’s own special touches on this page which you will see in Maleficent.  This one has an apple & a curly Q below the mirror. There is also a clear plastic sheet to keep the makeup from spilling everywhere.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Next to one of my original ELF Encyclopedia books for size reference.

Inside you have 2 complete directions for looks, one for day & one for night. In the middle is a picture of the queen on a clear sheet which you can flip to see each look.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Photobucket

Day Evil (for a deliciously enchanting look!) is so pretty. I love that it still has a wearable quality without being all pastels. In 5 steps, you can create this look.

Night Villain (for a look that is sure to make you the fairest one of all!) is so up my alley. Love that you get to have a darker look complete with a red lip. Who doesn’t love a red lip?

So now onto the shades! Note the absolute fabulous-ness of the shade names! Evil Queen indeed!I swatched ALL of these shades over the included primer. I rarely swatch shades over primer (unless I think they desperately deserve a chance) but since these kits CAME with a primer, I used it!

Photobucket

Photobucket
Left to right in the photo: The ELF Lip & Cheek Color (no name) blended, One Bite, Vanity, Narcissistic, & Potion. Below is the ELF Lip & Cheek Color in one swipe.
DAY EVIL
One Bite- A golden-shimmering off white. LOVE THIS. If you love gold shades, this pretty much makes the palette worth it. I wish they sold this as a single!
Vanity- A matte nude that actually goes on smooth. I was shocked folks. It blends in here a bit too much (sorry!) but it really is a lovely light nude.
Narcissitstic- A light pink toned lilac. This looks brighter in the pan but swatches a bit more frosty.
Potion- A medium toned red based purple with nearly a metallic finish. This is SO pretty & unexpected.
ELF Lip & Cheek Color- A mauve toned pink.

Photobucket

PhotobucketLeft to right in the photo: The ELF Lip & Cheek Color (no name) blended, One Bite, Vanity, Narcissistic, & Potion. Below is the ELF Lip & Cheek Color in one swipe.

NIGHT VILLAIN
Fairest of the Land- The perfect sheer, frosty white. This can be WAY sheered out which makes it the perfect highlight!
Majesty- A medium purple with kind of a lavender sheen. It is really lovely & cool toned.
Peddler’s Cloak- A medium brown packed with gold shimmer. SO pretty.

Poison Apple- In the pan, (after removing overspray) it looks like a satin finish black. Clearly it is an absolute dud, I mean, this is even over primer!
ELF Lip & Cheek Color- A hot red with pink tones.

Sadly, I’m not a fan of the eyeliner applicator…it just doesn’t give an even stroke. Bummer. It IS however very black & didn’t budge on me so it is worth a try with a liner brush!

I love that they included some fierce lashes though! The band is a bit thick but worth it for a dramatic look. I actually like the lip liner shades but kind of bummed they want them to double as cheek colors. I find lipstick or a stain works a lot better for this as rubbing in the harsh lines rubs away the foundation beneath.

If you are digging this palette/book, snag it while you can! It is limited edition (from what I’ve read) & they have definitely been selling out at many Walgreens stores. Are you loving it or leaving it? Stay tuned for my favorite, Maleficent! I think you’ll love it!

Mary Kay Fall 2012 Reviews + Swatches! & a GIVEAWAY!

When I was younger, I truly hated fall. Everything dying made me so sad. Now that I’m older, I actually enjoy it quite a bit. The leaves with their array of falling colors, putting on a gorgeous coat, & wearing bold but simple makeup simply makes me oh so happy.

When I had the opportunity to review some new products sent to me from Mary Kay for you guys, I knew it was a must! Growing up with Mary Kay in my mom’s stash spoiled me quite a bit. She would let me pick out a few things here & there for special occasions. My first red lipstick was from Mary Kay. I’ve pretty much been hooked ever since! Whether you’re new to the brand or an avid Mary Kay lover, this Hollywood Mystique Collection is mighty impressive.

Fall 2012: Bronzed Cranberry Eyeshadow Using BH Cosmetics Tropical Shimmer Palette

September 23, 2012 By StephanieLouise 704Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F09%2Ffall-2012-bronzed-cranberry-eyeshadow.htmlFall+2012%3A+Bronzed+Cranberry+Eyeshadow+Using+BH+Cosmetics+Tropical+Shimmer+Palette2012-09-23+17%3A25%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F09%2Ffall-2012-bronzed-cranberry-eyeshadow-using-bh-cosmetics-tropical-shimmer-palette.html

Photobucket

I did this look for the last day of summer. Ironically, it uses my most used shade for summer (bronze) & my most anticipated shade for Fall (cranberry) in one look.
I’ll admit, the shade I used in the Tropical Shimmer Palette looked plum, but after swatched it gives off the best cranberry sheen. I don’t use the Tropical Shimmer Eyeshadow 88 Colors Palette from BH cosmetics often, but now I probably will. Many of these shades are practically metallic & so so so gorgeous. I think it got lost in my stash but I have rediscovered it!

After picking up this palette again, I’m reminded how much I love these shadows…& I think I need more from BH Cosmetics. Anything in particular you guys would recommend?

Would you guys like a review on this palette? Do you like this combination? What are you most looking forward to for Fall?

Victoria’s Secret The Nakeds Review & Swatches

September 21, 2012 By StephanieLouise 707Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F09%2Fvictorias-secret-nakeds-review-swatches.htmlVictoria%27s+Secret+The+Nakeds+Review+%26+Swatches2012-09-21+13%3A17%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F09%2Fvictorias-secret-the-nakeds-review-swatches.html

PhotobucketI’ve had this for awhile & honestly kept pushing back this review until I had ample time to test the shades. I actually picked this up from the Victoria’s Secret store as opposed to online…since there was absolutely no information online about it. WTF VS! Clearly this goes along with the whole neutral palette trend but this one is a bit different! I think you guys will really appreciate it so do keep reading!

Photobucket
Photobucket

Photobucket

So this comes in just a plain plastic sleeve with the price in the corner….meh. I DO like that it is clear so you can see the exterior packaging (which I also like…it’s pretty!) but mine was all scratched up. Inside was a card with the shades + their names (the only place the names are shown) & on the other side it has 2 separate looks. They’re pretty & simple.
Photobucket
The packaging is impressive, much nicer than their usual black plastic packaging with plain lettering. Win for Victoria’s Secret. This palette has a magnetic closure that just curves closed. The exterior has a big metal plate on top that says “The Nakeds” & Victoria’s Secret. The rest of the outer packaging is a textured metallic champagne shade. I love that it wipes clean!
Photobucket
There is a mirror inside that it about the width of a credit card but about an inch longer. Mine was clearly cracked but it was the last one & I didn’t open it before buying it. Whatever. I’m just leaving the plastic on it. If I desperately need it, it’ll work. Inside its a black plastic housing the shadows & tools but it doesn’t look cheap. It isn’t all that noticeable at all.
Photobucket
Along with the 10 shades, you get a black pencil eyeliner & a double ended brush. The brush is…one of the most awful like ever. Maybe I’m horribly spoiled by the Anastasia of Beverly Hills brushes, but this one is cheap, stiff, & the SAME on both ends. WTF? I digress I digress.
So before you swatch any of the shades, they all appear shimmery. They definitely all have that “shimmer cast” that you often get with blushes. What I mean by that is that SOME of these aren’t as shimmery as they appear. They mostly are though haha.
Photobucket
Photobucket
The texture of these shadows are seriously smooth. Love it actually! They aren’t as cream to powder as their eyeshadow singles, but they are really soft & creamy. Two shades stand out in particular for the shimmer quality that buffs away: Brown Sable & Charcoal Black. Brown Sable looked shimmery but after you remove that light top layer it is actually a really soft metallic, not shimmer at all. Charcoal Black is a nearly matte but feels super creamy. I love this black!

Photobucket
Photobucket
Now let’s dive into the shades! I swatched them by the top & bottom row. That’s also how I swatched them for convenience sake.
Top Row left to right:
Barely Pink: Super fair shimmering pink, perfect highlight!

Copper Sand: A warm light peach with gold shimmer/sheen. So pretty, my favorite light shade in the palette.
Graystone: An icy light blue toned gray. Perfect with the blacks for a quick & simple smoky eye. Very pretty, especially when wet.
Brown Sable: Cool toned taupe-y brown. Light on its own, even better wet. Love these types of shades.
Sparkling Black: Such a pretty shade! This is a dark charcoal but it has slightly blue toned silver shimmers. Unfortunately, this swatches super sheer. I recommend using this one wet or just to darken another shade. The shimmer DOES remain though! It is an interesting shade although definitely flawed because it comes off so sheer. Totally with working with if you’re going to use this palette though.
Bottom Row left to right:
Warm Vanilla: Perfection!Love this shade, its a warm white with a slightly yellow tone. Great for your browbone, inner corners, even a touch on the cheeks or cupid’s bow. This one does have some shimmers that it leaves behind even when buffed so keep that in mind!
Tawny Pink: Kind of a mauvey/peachy far pink. It swatches sheer which is fine with me. I don’t do pinks are a main shade. I love this as a highlight which puts it a safe distance from my eyes as well.
Smoky Lilac: A greyed out lilac with a hint of pink warmth. This one swatches a bit sheer, but it sure is pretty!
Sparkling Brown: This is a cool toned greyed brown with bronze microshimmer. Applies beautifully & evenly. This one is more of a metallic when swatched & is kind of a neutral. The warm shimmer with the cool base. Lovely color. I think it would look good one everyone because of its versatility. The combo comes off kind of khaki toned.
Charcoal Black: I actually wouldn’t even call this Charcoal…just black! I’m so impressed! This one is so soft too. It may look like there’s a bit of tiny shimmers in there, but it is absolutely not visible on the eye. I call this one a matte leaning satin.
Photobucket

Photobucket

All of these were taken WITHOUT primer…clearly it is more pigmented over primer but these are really pretty on their own! The stripe down the middle is the liner that came with the palette which is labeled as just a VS Eyeliner in Extreme Black.

Overall, I’m impressed with this palette. Way better than expected. If you aren’t into deeper shades, you’ll love it. So many more options for daytime looks. With the 2 highlight shades & even a few that can be sheered into a highlight, this also has more options for lighter looks. Love the black obviously & both the Charcoal Black & the Sparkling Black can take any of the looks from day to night in a hurry. They’re rather soft so pay attention to that by using a dense brush if you want a lot of color. I found that applying the lighter shades as a base with my finger was super easy. I kind of treat them like cream shades.

I picked this up for $28 at my local Victoria’s Secret store. I think they have samples out you can swatch now which is nice. I sure hope my review helped either way!

What do you think? How many “naked” type palettes do you have currently? Interested in this one?

PhotobucketSo, summer brought about many things: our first summer in Nebraska, my first summer not visiting home, & the horrible humidity. What does this mean to you? I’ve searched far & wide for the best of the best long-wearing eye products. Here is my current favorite duo: Milani Shadow Eyez 12 Hour Wear Eyeshadow Pencils & Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoos. I love all of the shades in both ranges, but blue & bronze are just so fun.

I wore this look out 3 times so far to active events! Bowling, intensely competitive laser tag, mini golf, & just general living in humidity proved it to be a winner. I mean it, I put it through the ringer. I was nice kind & I am overly judgmental. I am so impressed. I didn’t use eye primer at all & did use Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup which I’m reviewing soon. Milani Eyez will be reviewed sometime next week! The Anastasia of Beverly Hills Lash Genius is another miracle product, it makes ANY mascara waterproof! Hello holy grail item!

Photobucket
No liner or mascara.
Photobucket
Liner added to inner rims & done very close to the lashes in a thin line.

Photobucket
See how close it is? I only apply it this one so it will last much longer. Note I also don’t always go to the inner corners.

With mascara. The finished look.

On the eyes: Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze, Milani Shadow Eyez 12 Hour Wear Eyeshadow in Aquatic Style, L’Oreal HIP Cream Eyeliner in 905 Black, L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara, & Anastasia of Beverly Hills Lash Genius.

5 products total, not bad! What do you think? Do you dig the blue & bronze? Have you tried any of the Milani Shadow Eyez Pencils out?

July 2012 Glossybox USA: I HAVE THEM BOTH!

Yes. This is very VERY late. Why? Because I have 2 Glossyboxes & before I showed them to you guys, I wanted to know why? Turns out I bought one (which is the given answer since I have been for awhile) & was sent one. I didn’t know I was getting it clearly. The cool thing? I got one of EACH of the varieties instead of 2 of the same one. Full of win about that, seriously. I think this is like my 3rd month of GLOSSYBOX? Maybe? Either way I’ve been happy with it & their customer service has been fab. Shelling out $21 hasn’t been easy though, I must admit, especially when Birchbox & MyGlam have both stepped up their games. This month, both boxes were pretty great though, read on to find out why!

Here is the front card which is the same for each box, only the contents were different:

GLOSSYBOX #1 THOUGHTS:

The Sebastian Color Ignite Multi Tone shampoo & conditioner are both packaged really nicely, perfect for travel. They both also smell great, that clean scent some hair products have. Haven’t tried them yet! The Alessandro International Pedix Heel Rescue Balm is a freaking delight. I seriously love it. SO minty & energizing smelling & works great on my constantly-sandaled feet.

The Figs & Rouge Lip, Face, & Body Balm has a sweet geranium scent that doesn’t seem strong but honestly lasted hours. I haven’t used it on my lips, but works great on my cuticles/elbows/hands. I haven’t opened the Blushed fragrance towelette from Ruddy Water yet because honestly, you guys have me scared too. I really haven’t heard many good things about it & my office is an enclosed space so…

The Senna Cosemtics Mineral Eyes Shadow (yes read the card, its written like that) Trio I got is in Satin Doll. Unfortunately, these are just not my colors but I saw some that others got that would have interested me. These are all mauve/raisin toned. Meh. They feel nice though, not chalky but almost too soft.

GLOSSYBOX #2 THOUGHTS:

I’m not going to repeat my opinions so let’s look at the 3 products I got in this box & not in the Glossybox #1. The Caswell-Massy Hans & Body Emulsion in Almond & Aloe is amazing, I really love it. These two packets were extras but I’m totally hoping they have deluxe samples from them in the future. I’m kind of an almond lover though, so perhaps I’m a bit bias. The OFRA Eyebrow Pencil in Universal is a nice pencil. I actually like the waxy base but if my brows were darker, I worry it wouldn’t be so universal on me. This is a tad dark so I use a light hand then brush it through well. The Senna Cosmetics Double Dose Lip Lacquer in Dreamglow isn’t something I would have ever picked out for myself, but its nice. The mauvey side is packed with silvery shimmers. The very golden pink side almost looks coral on because of those two shades. Both are pretty sheer & not long lasting. I prefer a more opaque gloss or a more sheer gloss whereas this hits somewhere in-between. Its noted to be moisturizing & conditioning but I don’t feel it doing anything special.

Overall, I would have been happy with either box. I haven’t tried the shampoo/conditioner yet but the packaging is nice. I’ve had a few people tell me the textures are weird but I say bring it on. I’ve tried some wacky hair products in the past that have done freaking wonders so I’m up for it. The Senna products were both pretty, but maybe the colors just weren’t for me. I see them as being wearable across the board though! Everything else I like so far, especially the cuticle balm. Oh, its a lip, face, & body balm? Right, well now its a cuticle balm. You’re not the boss of me.

The UK boxes this month had products from all over the world, kind of like the press box I received in the beginning so I’m really hoping our next GLOSSYBOX is fabulous. I also have a $10 off coupon on the lower right of my blog if you’re interested in signing up! Its pricey but if you like what you see, totally worth it!

So, sidenote…I love the Glossyboxes themselves. In fact, I’ve been saving them all because I just know I will use them for something wonderful. They are sturdy, classy looking, & nice quality. What would YOU use them for?
