March 17, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8512 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fst-patricks-day-5-green-eyeliners-i.htmlSt.+Patrick%27s+Day%3A+5+Green+Eyeliners+I+Adore2012-03-17+17%3A51%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fst-patricks-day-5-green-eyeliners-i-adore.html

Now that my camera is all charged (LAME) I can show you 5 green eyeliners you would look great in today!  I love all of these & they are all completely different in color & texture. Love!

Swatches from let to right: Wet n Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in 863 Turquoise, Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips in Green for Green Eyes, Wet n Wild  Color Icon Eyeliner in Cool Green, Milani Infinite Liquid Eyeliner in Eternal, & Essence Kajal Pencil in Scream Green.

Wet n Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in 863 Turquoise: Long wearing liquid liner in a very green toned turquoise.

Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips in Green for Green Eyes: A super long wearing automatic pencil in an olive shade with light gold flecks.

Wet n Wild  Color Icon Eyeliner in Cool Green: A minty green with light reflecting green flecks.

Milani Infinite Liquid Eyeliner in Eternal: A lime liquid eyeliner with a golden sheen. Extremely long wearing.

Essence Kajal Pencil in Scream Green: A chartreuse toned green kajal pencil with white reflection & lime undertones.

Can you tell I love long wearing liners? Honestly though, these are AMAZING. Every one of them gets lots of use from me!

Do you love greens? Have you tried any of these? Want to?

The Body Needs Eyeshadow Shots & Swatches + A Favor!

March 14, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8551 Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fbody-needs-eyeshadow-shots-swatches.htmlThe+Body+Needs+Eyeshadow+Shots+%26+Swatches+%2B+A++Favor%212012-03-14+16%3A16%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fthe-body-needs-eyeshadow-shots-swatches-a-favor.html

You know I really love a company when I continue to buy eye pigments online to add to my collection that could feed a small army. Are they edible? Not quite sure, but I think you get the gist. Right now they have a CRAZY clearance, I picked up 22 eye pigments for less then $20, & that’s counting shipping! Wowie! Plus, they let you pick up a pigment/glitter with ever order for only a penny! I’ve never spent a penny better. They all come sealed REALLY well. I recommend using tweezers to remove the sticker over the sifter then storing them face side up so you don’t get too much of a mess.

The pigments never disappoint & I have been loving on them since the beginning of my blogging days when I reviewed both the Eye Candy Collection & the Blackened Collection. This totally reminds me I should reswatch those BTW, let me know if you’d be interested in better swatches now that I have some more experience. Then something amazing happened. I won a contest with my Pirate Want A Parrot look & won a gift certificate. Here’s what I got!

First, before you ask, yes the lighting here is awful today. I don’t know why, I saved this because its supposed to be like 80, but that’s how it goes in Nebraska apparently! Boo! But I did my best to make these color accurate & to catch the differences.

Left to right: Aspen Gold, Rapture, Blue Brown Sparkle, Belladonna, Sage Matte, & Tropic Heat.

I really do love all of these shades & wish I had gotten more mattes because that Sage Matte swatched incredibly easy & smooth. Tropic Heat swatches a bit sheer but its buildable. You’ll be seeing it again soon, it matches my top nail polish pick for Spring which will be in an upcoming post! Blue Brown Sparkle is a really warm brown with blue micro glitter. I love this & will be sure to do an eye look so you can see it catch in the light. Belladonna is a mysterious lady color. A purple with tinges of gray, brown, & deep plums. Lovely. Rapture is a green toned yellow & unlike anything else I have! Aspen Gold reminds me a lot of one of the new Milani eyeshadows. An olive topped with a gold sheen, really gorgeous & a staple favorite of mine.

Here is my penny pigment from this order! This is Rose Glitter, a gorgeous eye-safe glitter. See how super fine it is? I like to apply it by patting it onto a cream shadow or mixing it a bit by topping a gel liner with it to get it to stick.

So, as a side note, I entered a contest through The Body Needs thanking our military for their service. Most of you probably know we’re military but for those who don’t, my husband is in the Air Force. I would be SO appreciative if you would vote for our picture together by CLICKING RIGHT HERE! I would so totally appreciate it! The winner gets a gift certificate so I could buy more stuff to use & swatch! Yay swatching! The picture is from his ALS graduation which I swatched & reviewed the Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow for! That’s the ever so gorgeous Perpetual Purple 🙂 Man I love that shade!

I’ve never been sent anything from The Body Needs by the way, although I hope someday to be their spokesperson & bathe in pigments. That’s what spokespeople do? Right? Anyone?

Please let me know if you want to see any of these in particular on the eye! What shades do you like the most? Any dupes you spot?

Rave Review: Reviva Labs Vitamin E Stick

March 13, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8564 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Frave-review-reviva-labs-vitamin-e-stick.htmlRave+Review%3A+Reviva+Labs+Vitamin+E+Stick2012-03-13+18%3A26%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Frave-review-reviva-labs-vitamin-e-stick.html

I’ll admit, I didn’t expect this to make it into my tight-knit beauty raves. I mean, its cool, really it is. Somethign you can use pretty much anywhere that’s natural & good for your skin? Cool. But is it exciting? Meh. WRONG! I was SO wrong! If you want to know why, keep reading!

What Reviva Labs Says: Lip and under eye protection was never this convenient and effective! Reviva’s Vitamin E Stick–in its handy lipstick type tube–moisturizes, soothes and protects against dryness and sun or wind damage. Features SPF15 sun protection with vitamin E, allantoin.

My Take: So basically, this saved my face when I was sick. Like, no joke, SAVED my face. Here’s the lowdown! I had some kind of flu which developed into some kind of cold/cough/dying thing. Unpleasant to say the least. My eczema then began acting up like crazy around my eyes, probably from my eyes tearing up. Eczema always makes its rounds for me so it stinks, but its not uncommon every few months.
On top of that, a new issue. I guess this is kind of gross, but its something I would want to know about! So my nose got all dry & cracked from sneezing to the point where I was bleeding! OUCH! Then my Reviva Labs box arrived! I immediately started applying this Vitamin E Stick remembering back to winters in harsh wind where my mom & I would use something similar. It has a waxy feel, but its thin. I’m sure some people will mistake this as being greasy, but its not! My skin gets crazy oily when I’m sick & this didn’t break me out or add to oil production whatsoever.

Within 2 days, my nose was healed. Completely healed! No more cracks, no more dryness, & no more itchy skin! Granted, I applied this like a crazy person but it felt so good. I could FEEL it working! So then, within 3-4 days, my eczema cleared up! I was able to apply concealer comfortably over the product during the duration of me using it which was really important, normally my skin can’t get enough moisture for me to do that. I also applied it throughout the day lightly with my finger (as to not transfer makeup directly on the stick) & it looked fine. I have to say I’m not POSITIVE it cleared up my eczema, BUT it totally made that 110% more bearable than usual!

Overall, I’m crazy impressed. I don’t know how I lived without this product & I only wish I had a drawer full of them before winter had begun. I would’ve handled it so much better! It is pretty rare I label something a “RAVE” review, so this is a big deal. I love it & can’t wait to try it more ways like on really dry lips or maybe even scratches & such.

Where You Can Get It: At the time of this posting, these are on sale for only $4! You can pick them up by going to the Reviva Labs website.

So what do you think, would you like to try this product? How would you use it? PS how do you like my nails? I have a post coming soon, these are my St. Patrick’s Day manicure, well one of them. Kids loved them!

So I don’t normally cover the awards shows but I think this time I’ll chime in! Oh how I love Jane Seymour, she’s a fabulus actress & all around beauty. Her eyes look stunning…but does anyone else hate the feather-looking lashes? I think they are a bit too noticeable! Love it or hate it?

Naked 2: YDK, BootyCall, & Half Baked Quick Eye

February 22, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8661 Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F02%2Fnaked-2-ydk-bootycall-half-baked-quick.htmlNaked+2%3A+YDK%2C+BootyCall%2C+%26+Half+Baked+Quick+Eye2012-02-22+17%3A57%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F02%2Fnaked-2-ydk-bootycall-half-baked-quick-eye.html

So I have been loving my Naked 2 palette but haven’t posted about it yet! Shame on me! This is going to be a quick post but if you want to see swatches or a comparison with the first Naked palette, do let me know & I will put it together.

I used YDK all over my lid but noted some fallout because I was trying to apply it quickly. I topped it with a bit of Half Baked & then Bootycall for a brow highlight which I really like.

Final look with mascara & all was easy & wearable although my inner eyeliner is something new I’m finding I don’t like. More on that in another post perhaps!

Do you have Naked 2? Want it? How do you like it compared to the first Naked Palette?

Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Perpetual Purple Test

February 16, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8684 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F02%2Floreal-infallible-eyeshadow-in.htmlLoreal+Infallible+Eyeshadow+in+Perpetual+Purple+Test2012-02-16+15%3A53%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F02%2Floreal-infallible-eyeshadow-in-perpetual-purple-test.html

So I have picked up quite a few of these eyeshadows lately. They are vibrant, super shimmery, & easy for me to apply. I use my finger then blend a bit with my Sonia Kushak blending brush. I use my angled eyeliner brush to sweep color along my lower lashline. I’ve photographed this on two separate occasions to test out & show you guys!

The first was a casual look that I wore to work. I run around a lot at work but I was also cleaning at home. Put it to the test! I didn’t apply it as heavily just to make sure I could in the first place. I wanted to make sure a more sheer application would even translate & it did!

The second test was my husband’s military event. I had to be there RIGHT after work so I had to apply it at lunch then wear it well into the night. Success! I did use Skindinavia’s makeup setting spray that night but not heavily on my eyes. It wore great & I got lots of compliments. It stayed on through work then throughout the night. These pictures with my husband were taken at the end of the night!

I love purples so it makes sense I adore this one so much. I love the different shimmers in this which play off lights beautifully. I see myself reaching for this shade whenever I want a dramatic purple eye or as a crease color. This vibrant hue puts off a fab metallic shimmer and shine so its moved into my “Favorites” drawer recently!

Have you tried any of these shades? Are you a purple fiend too? I’m sorry I didn’t get an up close from the fancier eyeshadow look, let me know if you want to see one next time!

Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liner for Glam Hazel Eyes

February 4, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8753 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F02%2Fphysicians-formula-shimmer-strips.htmlPhysician%27s+Formula++Shimmer+Strips+Custom+Eye+Enhancing+Gel+Cream+Liner+for+Glam+Hazel+Eyes2012-02-04+22%3A11%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F02%2Fphysicians-formula-shimmer-strips-custom-eye-enhancing-gel-cream-liner-for-glam-hazel-eyes.html

So today I have for you Physician’s Formula  Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liner for Glam Hazel Eyes. I picked this up from CVS during their buy $10 worth get $7 back thing. I always consider that a bargain.

I have almost all of these, seriously I really do. Sorry for the bad picture of the packaging, but the lighting here is less than lackluster today. I buy these up like candy or gum, I just love everything about them. They are the perfect consistency for me & I love to wear them on the waterline. I tend to use these as my blacks. Normally the black has micro shimmer while these have bigger more visible pieces.

From top to bottom: Antique Gold, Metallic Amethyst, and  Black & Gold Shimmer.

Antique Gold: A lightened gold with a touch of sage undertone.
Metallic Amethyst: This reminds me of a metallic lavender. I don’t have anything like it.
Black & Gold Shimmer: Their usual black with a heavy dose of gorgeous gold glimmer.

In the Container:

Up Close Look at the Shimmer & Glitter:

I have another trio to show you soon plus I’m using this in a makeup look. What do you think? Are these shades you would use?

Taupe Eyeshadow Look for the Every Day

January 27, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8784 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F01%2Ftaupe-eyeshadow-look-for-every-day.htmlTaupe+Eyeshadow+Look+for+the+Every+Day2012-01-27+16%3A55%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F01%2Ftaupe-eyeshadow-look-for-the-every-day.html

When I think of a great work shade, taupe is the first. Its neutral but has lots of variations from shimmers, to mattes, & beyond. So, if you’re a taupe lover for all occasions like me, I think you’ll like this wearable look. Keep in mind none of these pictures are edited other than cropping & were taken indoors with natural light.

Bare lashes AKA prior to mascara.

I created this look using 3 shades from the Victoria’s Secret Palette I reviewed yesterday titled as ‘Victoria’s Secret Party Perfect Makeup Kit Palette Review.’ For reference, I used the first 3 shades in the 3rd row going down. The lightest in my inner corner & as a highlight, meduium over the lid, & deepest to darken the crease a bit. I paired this with a quick swipe of my L’Oreal  Carbon Black for mascara & my Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Eyeliner in Black for Blue Eyes. Also, the green shirt is a PJ top 🙂

So would you wear this to work? I can do shimmer for work, can you?

Victoria’s Secret Party Perfect Makeup Kit Palette Review

January 26, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8792 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F01%2Fvictorias-secret-party-perfect-makeup.htmlVictoria%27s+Secret+Party+Perfect+Makeup+Kit+Palette+Review2012-01-26+18%3A46%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F01%2Fvictorias-secret-party-perfect-makeup-kit-palette-review.html

I picked up this palette when it was on sale after Christmas. I wasn’t really sure what I was getting honestly, but I have had really good experiences with Victoria’s Secret Brand eyeshadows so far. The palette is mostly neutral/smoky eye based which works fine for me. It has just enough shades to give yourself a pop of color with your usual smokey look. Personally, I like that look better, I feel it looks edgier & more fun. This palette has zero matte shades though so if that’s all you wear, its not for you! All of these shades are satins/shimmers.

Here are some random swatches. The neutrals are similar but different enough to build depth so I mostly swatched the colors. I figured this would give you a look at which shades you have an option to meld into your natural/smoky eye.

So far, I find these shades very wearable. I can see this being an easy palette to transfer from day to night. The taupes & neutrals would make great day looks, even for a professional. Then we have the gold & silver for a metallic look. Browns for a natural or smoky eye. Colors that can be used on their own or separately. See where I’m going with this?

A few had a little bit of fallout when swatched with my finger, but not in a bad way. The reason I had fallout at all was because they were satin & on the lid they blend beautifully.

The blush & bronzer are alright. Overall I love the subtle shimmer which give it more of a “glow” look. The bronzer is too orange for my skin tone & when blended it made me look near deathly. The blush is a really pretty shade though. I normally don’t reach for “pop out” extras like these, but I guess that’s not their fault right?

I’m pleased with this palette, especially since I rarely buy Victoria’s Secret eyeshadows outside of singles & duos. This means I probably will look into buying some more! The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was it was kind of hard to open & super static-y. Random? You bet! But I hate when dust is literally drawn to something I need to keep clean!

Do you ever buy Victoria’s Secret brand makeup? Have you had some duds?

Mahya Mineral Eyeshadows Swatches & Review

January 9, 2012 By StephanieLouise 887Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F01%2Fmahya-mineral-eyeshadows-swatches.htmlMahya+Mineral+Eyeshadows+Swatches+%26+Review2012-01-09+15%3A45%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F01%2Fmahya-mineral-eyeshadows-swatches-review.html

These eyeshadows are a whole new realm for me. They are vibrant, cruelty-free, & are the first mineral eyeshadows I’ve seen that I can use on more than just my lids. Whether you’re a Mahya fan or new to the brand, read on for more information & stunning swatches.
About Mahya-
Mahya grew up in Europe where her family owned and operated several successful beauty spas. Applying the secrets of the European beauty industry, she introduced her own line of pure mineral-based cosmetics after moving to the United States. The success of her cosmetic line was in part attributed to the testimonials of her clients professing that the all natural and nourishing cosmetic base left their skin feeling healthy and vibrant. Mahya has been in the Dallas area selling her line of cosmetics since 2001. Her dedication and commitment to her cosmetics has resulted in a superior quality product line that has expanded to include cleansers, lotions and bronzers.
So now that you know a bit about the woman behind the brand, jump down to the coolest things about the brand. I could write it out in my own words, but they seriously nailed it on the website.

Mahya Minerals Eye Shadows come in Lustrous Minerals (Ultra fine shimmers), Two Tones Lustrous Minerals (Pearl with Multi Effect Shades), Glimmering Minerals (Sparkly) and matte blends that accomplish any look you want.

 -Like jewels for the eyes
–Less expensive and much more fun!
-Mix and match your favorite shades and create new eye colors.
-Matches to every mood, every occasion, everyday. -Multi-tasking: use as an eye shadow, eyeliner, lip gloss, nail polish. -Create your own color.

So seriously, how cool is that! They not only have the most gorgeous shades, but they also encourage you to find varying uses! For instance, you can also buy all the blushes as eyeshadows. I also like using Fairy Tale as a lip highlight, so I definitely love the many uses. I mean, I do it anyway sometimes, but knowing its safe is even better. One thing I regret is that none of my shades are matte. Maybe next time!

Now its time for swatches! Each of these were done on bare skin AKA no primer. I seriously only used the TINIEST bit of each for this great color payoff.

Shade
Flash
From top to bottom we have Fairy Tale, Deep Sea, Grass, Turquoise, Barbie, & Sugar Plum.
Overall, these eyeshadows are fab. These are extremely buildable but messy, like all loose shadows. As always, tap off excess & build until you reach your desired shade. French Kiss makes a great highlight, I’ve been using it quite a bit. Then again, I always love sparkly neutrals. Deep Sea & Sugar Plum make gorgeous eyeliners as well, I just use a slanted eyeliner brush to apply. I picked Barbie because I can never find fab pink eyeshadows for a reasonable price but I haven’t put it to the test yet. Clearly Grass & Turquoise are right up my ally. Besides not getting any mattes, I so wished I had gotten a purple. Gorgeous!

If you have tried matte shades or any of these shadows, please do share! Which shades are your favorite? For more information, feel free to visit www.mahyamineralmakeup.com ! Stay tuned for upcoming eyeshadow looks as well as a review on Mahya eye primer, concealer, foundation, blush & bronzer! I feel a full Mahya tutorial coming on!
