Have you ever used Ruby Wing nail polish? Color Club’s sister brand has created shades that change color in sunlight which is just too fun. I’ve always loved the idea of color shifts but sadly I haven’t had much luck. Ruby Wing blew my mind in comparison to all the others I’ve tried & I’m super excited to show you these fall perfect shades! I used Color club base coat & no top coat for thee swatches below.

Ruby Wing Color Changing Polish in Doux- 3 coats. Sheer color. I really should have put this over white or maybe a lavender but I wanted to show it on its own so you can get a feel for the shade. It is really pretty in person but I’ll definitely layer it next time!

Ruby Wing Color Changing Polish in Strawberry Shortcake- 2 coats.I really absolutely love this shade. Nice glitter coverage & an even application, no balding which is often found in shades like this. I love it in the shade or sun & it definitely feel wonderfully fall! The holo beautifully pops!

These both smell SO good! To me, Strawberry Shortcake smells like my old school Strawberry Shortcake scented dolly & Doux smells like sweet fruit of some kind. I know that sounds a bit odd but I really like it! These are my first shades & I’m so happy with the shift, it is really fast once you hit the sunshine! The change is so fast which is completely different from the few other brands I’ve tried. Definitely impressive!

Color Club Fall 2013 Silver Lake- An easy, very light grey cream. 2 coats + Color Club top coat.

Color Club Fall 2013 Williamsburg- Dark navy base with blue glass flecks throughout. It looks almost black but the flecks are a nice bright blue. 2 coats + Color Club top coat.

Williamsburg is a new favorite, totally stunning. Absolutely glowing & classy. Silver Lake is so light I thought it was actually white when I first saw it! Nice shade to add to a collection. I really like the formula on both of these which is great, often lighter grey type shades aren’t my favorites!

I tend to really love the limited edition shades from Sally Hansen (I just recently reviewed Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Fall 2013 Nail Polishes in Malbec & Gold Roses!) so I guess it isn’t a surprise I already have two more to show you. These are 2 of the Fall 2013 Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polishes in the shades Chop Chop Copper & Jet Set Jade. Keep reading to see what I thought!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish in Chop Chop Copper- A bronze toned copper metallic with pink shimmer.3 thin coats to opaque. Seche Vite topcoat. 

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish in Jet Set Jade- An teal toned emerald with a blue leaning shimmer. 2 coats to opaque. Seche Vite topcoat. 

Overall, I’m pretty happy with these shades! They were were thin & had me worried on the first coat but the 2nd fixed it! I didn’t see any other shades I HAD to have but if you dig fall metallics there were quite a few more availible! I’m a sucker for copper & emerald so these called my name! Plus, the both have a nice & somewhat unexpected shimmer! Divine!

When you say “FLAKIE!” I say “YES!” so obviously I had to snap up these two matte flakie toppers from Orly. I believe these are limited edition & yes, they do dry matte. If you love glitter, fairies, whimsy, or flakies then you really should keep reading 😉

When swatching flakies I think it is really important to show them over black so you can really see the shift as much as possible since that is what a lot of people prefer. On my pointer & middle finger I used 1 even coat then on my ring finger & pinky I used 3 coats over Color Club Where’s the Soiree.

Up close you can see these are really nice “shattered” type flakies which I like. You can see Pink has pretty much every color in there where Green to me should’ve been named blue since it leaned that way the majority of the time. 3 coats was a bit goopy but I think if I had been more precise they would have been more even.

I really love the look of these over black but I thought it would be nice to show them over some fall type shades as well & with top coat. Enjoy!

Orly Matte FX Nail Polishes in Pink Flakie Topcoat- A flakie topcoat that flashes shades of pink, tangerine, green, purple & dries matte. One medium coat over Essie Vested Interest.

Personally I prefer them with top coat because that makes them really flash but matte is fun too. Again I call that Green a BLUE but whatever man, whateves. Pretty shades of flakie glory, I’m a happy girl. These are limited edition & I found mine at Sallys.

Zoya did something that made me SO happy this year- they went with more of a winter theme than a holiday one. Now don’t get me wrong, I love reds & greens. Really, I do! But sometimes collections for winter/holiday feel repetitive & this one doesn’t. I love the icy nature & how each shade is still seasonally appropriate without screaming a specific holiday. Love. I added top coat with all of these shades out of habit but hey were also lovely without. Opaque-ness varied shade to shade so check the descriptions on that.

Zoya Seraphina- A white/silver metallic base with silver shimmer. 3 coats. Probably could have gotten away with 2 if I wasn’t taking photos. Very metallic & looks like glittering snow, so winter appropriate! 

Zoya Cassedy- Metallic pewter with a green/teal tone. 1 coat to opaque. Completely unique shade & totally opaque. This is an expected winter shade but I think it works.

Zoya Belinda- Royal purple (leans a bit less cool toned in real life) with fuchsia & purple-y blue shimmer. 2 coats.

Zoya Payton- Rich slightly plum toned cranberry jelly packed with holographic shimmer. 2 coats. My favorite of the collection! Totally stunning & the holos really packed a punch!

Zoya Dream- A deep blue jelly packed with holographic shimmer. 2 coats. Could’ve done 3 for photos but looked fine in real life. I’d do 3 next time for sure. I love this one as well but I think the shimmer is more prominent in Payton.

Zoya Mosheen- Icy blue topper shade crammed full of iridescent shimmer & bar glitter. 2 coats over Belinda. 1 coat over Seraphina. A very pretty shade & definitely says winter.

I’m pretty excited to show you the two Fall 2013 Tracy Reese Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polishes I picked up in Malbec & Gold Roses. This was a really pretty collection in person & these were the two that I had to have for fall. One is a stunning purple & the other is a rose gold…not surprised? Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Malbec- A beautiful red toned medium plum. 2 coats.


This is a lovely purple that is just so fall. I love red toned purples like this that have a lovely wine base. Purple is definitely my color so I never cringe at collecting another in a great shade & formula.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Gold Roses- Metallic true rose gold. 2 coats.

I’m calling this one a must have. You NEED this shade! Most rose gold shades lean more gold or even bronze but this has the perfect pinkness that makes it a true rose gold. So gorgeous & rose gold is still so on trend. Personally, I think metallics like this are timeless.

These shades? Winners. Absolutely. The Sally Hansen Tracy Reese collaborations are always stunning & this season is no different. What do you think? Have you picked up any polishes from this Fall 2013 collection?

Halloween is just around the candy corn-er, my favorite time of year. The pumpkins are singing, skeletons are dancing, & candy is copiously eaten. Black Mamba is from the “A Snake On the Hand Is Worth Two On The Toes” Halloween 2013 collection from SoFlaJo. This collection is based on slithering snakes which is a fun take! I keep thinking about the new season of American Horror story since one of the covens is from Louisiana & I imagine them rocking some eerie snakes. Okay, now onto the polish!

SoFlaJo Black Mamba- A black jelly base packed with emerald green medium & small hex glitter, shimmer, & scattered small holo hexes. 3 coats seen here but it was opaque in 2.

With Butter LONDON Matte Finish Shine Free Topcoat. I’ve been really digging glitters matte lately & I think this time of year is the best for it.

With Seche Vite topcoat. Glossy is probably my favorite for this polish, pretty right? The holos really come out to play.

Love. This polish is love. But I am indeed getting ahead of myself. The OPI San Francisco collection didn’t blow my mind. I’m from California so I was quite excited but there just wasn’t a wow factor for me personally. Except for OPI Alcatraz…Rocks. This was the polish I wanted most & I went on a hunt. But it wasn’t easy. I hit at least 5 different OPI retailers without luck. It seems a lot of places got the core shades but not the OPI San Francisco Liquid Sand Shades. It made me very angry. But now that I have it & am having a serious affair…I’m ready to share it with you guys!

OPI Alcatraz…Rocks Liquid Sand Nail Polish- A cool toned navy base packed with multi-colored shimmer mainly green, purple, & gold. 3 coats, no topcoat. Textured finish.

This dried wonderfully fast & I’ve been wearing it for 3 days now. I just adore it. Barely any wear except a bit on my pointer which is likely from typing & kitchen counter cleaning. This is easily one of my favorite textured shades I’ve tried yet…this combo is just fabulous & so fall/winter appropriate. I love the different shades of shimmer, lots of depth. This is also an excellent layering shade, just put it over another shade for a seriously cool textured result.
