I love fair isle prints on socks and sweaters, so of course I could not resist putting the designs on my nails. I went with a traditional holiday red for a base shade (Paula Dorf Red Face), but you could easily do this on a forest green shade. The design itself was done with white acrylic paint, but you could use your favorite white polish. I wanted to keep it simple, so I went with snowflakes as my main design element. If my nails were big enough I would do a moose, but trees would also look very festive. Do you have a favorite holiday sweater?

The Zoya Naturel collection is right on trend & a blissful palette cleanser from all the bold & sparkling hues I’ve been swatching lately. Although I’m definitely more of an intense nail gal these shades definitely have their place in my collection.  These shades are neutral or rose toned, perfect for a pretty Naturel nail. Keep reading to see swatches & review!

I personally love this collection- neutral pinks like this are so in & I’m snapping them up while I can find them! Each was opaque in two coats & swatches are without topcoat. They’re all lovely but my favorites are Normani, Odette, & Brigitte. I wish I had a deeper skin tone, I think the lighter shades are just too gorgeous!

You can purchase this collection now from Zoya’s website for $9.00 per polish or as a full set.

Which shades catch your eye the most? Are you digging rose toned shades right now too?

Why yes, yes I do love metallic nails! This is the time of year when I reach for them most- doesn’t the holiday season scream for more sparkle & shine? I have 4 of the polishes from the SinfulColors Mirror Metallics line today including what might be my favorite green of the 2013 holiday season! Keep reading to check them out!

 photo SinfulColorsMirrorMetallicsNailPolishSwatches2013TriplePlatinum03_zps5136bb77.jpg

Sinful Colors Triple Platinum- Metallic silvered lavender. 2 coats. This looks close to silver in brighter lighting but in low light or indoors you can tell it is an icy lavender.

 photo SinfulColorsMirrorMetallicsNailPolishSwatches2013RedEye02_zps753217d8.jpg

 photo SinfulColorsMirrorMetallicsNailPolishSwatches2013PineAway01_zps826739da.jpg

Sinful Colors Pine Away- A brightened holiday kelly/pine green metallic. 1 coat. Much brighter on the nail than in the bottle. Also more complex looking in my opinion.

My favorite of this collection is Pine Away because I’m a total sucker for greens & this one is really more gorgeous on the nail than I had anticipated. Nice surprise! Red Eye was also an awesome look, so flashy! All of these shades are limited edition at the time of this posting so snap them up while you can!

Textured version is OPI Alcatraz…Rocks Liquid Sand Polish (2 thin coats)(full review here!) with OPI Solitaire Liquid Sand Polish on the ends. Then the two blended out a bit. Super easy to leave it here but in case you’re constantly looking to change things up…

& then with an overlay of Northern Lights Hologram Silver Top Coat from Out the Door. This honestly couldn’t get much more lovely for a look that is a bit softened & winter-y. Love. Which way do you prefer it- textured or holo-fied?

What kind of snow-y winter-y lovely looks are you loving this season? I just bought the most gorgeous blue eyeshadow, ’tis the season for icy looks no? What are you wearing on your nails today?

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway05_zps75a557ea.jpg

PR Sample.  Not Sponsored.

When it comes to splurge-worthy items hand care always comes to mind for me. I love doing nail posts for you guys but my cuticles do get try (especially with the cold weather!) & my nails do too. I work hard to take care of the skin on both my hands & feet but sometimes you need an extra boost! The gLOVE Treat products are a perfect fit & reusable! Keep reading to see my thoughts & TWO readers will win!

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway03_zpsc62b4368.jpg

If you’ve been following me for any length of time then you know I bettle dryness- eczema, dry skin, allergies, etc. I just have it all going on. On top of that, I have really sensitive hands & feet- as a child I never got to wear any fun shoes ever. They made me break out or cut in. I still have scars from my teenage years where I totally pushed it. Like an idiot. Anyway- back on topic- dry, somewhat sensitive skin.

I don’t go to the salon or have services done very often. I’m very particular about my products & have had bad reactions in the past. Plus, I can’t justify getting my nails done with the 2,000+ bottles of polish in my stash. My husband would kill me! I work hard to maintain my skin but I have been needing something intensive. Something new. & something that wouldn’t totally kill my holiday fund. Glove Treat came by just in time & I’m so excited to show you the results!

 photo GloveTreatProductBoxandBooties-1_zpsc89c0a2d.jpg

From gLOVE Treat– Tired, dry and aging hands and feet are a thing of the past with gLOVE Treat. gLOVE Treat is a revolutionary paraffin wax treatment for hands and feet that delivers instant results with long-term, anti-aging benefits. A patent-pending formula and application process, gLOVE Treat is unique, quick, and easy to do and use. Because itโ€™s a hygienic single application, thereโ€™s no mess, no fuss.

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway04_zps06b1f956.jpg

So let’s start with the basics since both of these products are VERY similar! One is for hands & one is for feet but the overall concept is identical!

The Formula-
So basically these are big plastic gloves or booties filled with high quality ingredients. You’re looking at some virgin coconut oil (great for dry skin!), multiple types of cosmetic grade liquid paraffin & wax, essential oils, & nothing harsh. They are paraben & sulfate free. They also contain no faux fragrance. The fragrance itself is delightful & something I lean towards naturally. The formulas contains both coconut & lavender oils which just smell so comforting to me. If you’ve ever stayed at my house then you know my bedroom always smells of lavender because I have anxiety & it helps me sleep! This is a combination I feel good about putting into my skin.

How to Use Them-

1. Each set comes in a sealed package. Rip that baby open & check them out. They’ll feel firm because they’re room temperature. Don’t bother cutting the opening for your hands/feet just yet. Note the heart on the exterior, that will be coming up next! You’ll also have a little baggie with some bands & clips inside, just set those next to where you’ll be doing your treatment since you’ll want them later.

2. March over to your (CLEAN!) microwave & place both of them inside. Microwave them on high heat for 90 to 120 seconds. Remove them & sit them next to each other in the are you’ll be sitting. (I assume you’ll be sitting but if you’re actually doing yoga or something….more power to you?)

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway06_zps1ef915f0.jpg

3. You want to wait until the hearts on the front turn back to a dark shade meaning they’re ready to apply. While you’re waiting for them to cool off a bit, I recommend grabbing a big pair of socks or even towels to wrap around your hands or feet.

4. When the heart is dark, cut off the very tops of your boots/gloves with scissors. Use the elastics (or velcro if you have the gloves) to fasten them closed around the wrist/ankle.

5. Leave the treatment on for 15 minutes. It is going to cool down & like cooling paraffin it will become more malleable. This makes removal easier than expected.

6. Once the gloves are removed, rub in the excess oils into your skin with your hands.

To Store & Reuse- They come with small clips that you can also leave on when microwaving so you won’t have a mess. Store them with the clips somewhere out of the way until your next treatment. Recommended use is once a week.

Availability- You can purchase both of these sets from the gLOVE Treat website here.

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway01_zps22070aa5.jpg

Let’s break down the reason I really enjoyed both of these product & I’ll throw in some tips because I’m just that great, okay? I love that these are absolutely affordable treatments for me. If you break down the cost, you’re looking at $40 for one month which is 4 uses. That’s only $10 a pop! If you have dryness on your hands or feet & have looked at salon treatments before then you probably already know that’s a bargain & a half. I also found the treatment very relaxing & could really see the results afterwards- even in the days to come. The photo above is of my nice (now smooth!) hand 2 days after my treatment in between doing dishes & typing all day. I just had to stop & snap a picture, it is that impressive!

 photo gLOVETreatHandampFootParaffinwaxtreatmentreviewgiveaway02_zps9b3de195.jpg

My Tips:

– Definitely use some kind of socks or towel with the booties! Both the gloves & the booties are rather large because they’re one size fits all (which is awesome because you’re getting a ton of product!) but this helps seal in more of the heat during treatment. Note Cobo above telling me how nice my booties smell beneath my mismatched socks. I know- I’m stylish.

– Apply after removing polish & cleansing hands/feet. The oils will really help treat dry nails & will help with texture issue. Most people don’t even realize their nails/cuticles are dry until this time of year but this will fix that!

– If you have long nails (hopefully on your hands…sheesh) have something to clean beneath your nails after the treatment like an orange stick or cuticle pusher. This will also help with your nail beds if you push cuticles afterwards.

–  Apply before bed so your skin can really soak up all of the residual oils. Obviously you can do it anytime you want but I found it most relaxing after I had brushed my teeth & washed my face so I knew I didn’t really have to do anything else for the night!

– Convince spouse they need to rub your feet or else it won’t feel enough like a spa treatment. I’m just kidding but if you can con yours into it like I did mine then you’re totally set.

 photo Glove-Treat-for-Hands-and-Feet-Bundle2-510x652_zpse9b1245b.jpg

Now onto the giveaway! Thanks so much to Deanna Montrose who is the creator & founder of gLOVE Treat! I’ll be giving away a gLOVE Treat Enhanced Paraffin Wax Hand & Foot Treatment (that’s two different treatments, 8 in total!) to TWO winners! This giveaway is US only. Good luck everyone! XO

Yes, I really am swatching this oh so popular OPI Nail Polish in You Don’t Know Jacques. I’m fully aware you’ve likely seen it before but just in case you haven’t (& because eventually I’d love to swatch everything in my collection eventually!) I figured I’d whip this out & give you my thoughts!

OPI You Don’t Know Jacques– Classic brownish taupe. 2 coats with topcoat.

Even if you’ve seen this shade a million times I still think is is awesome. So neutral, so wearable, & so effortlessly chic. This shade also makes an awesome base for glitters or nail art! I reach for this whenever I don’t want to think or need a palette cleanser. She’s gorg. This was released way back in 2008 as part of the OPI Fall Collection called La Collection De France. I can’t believe it has been that long & at the same time it seems like it has been around ages.

Do you own OPI You Don’t Know Jacques? Do you love it or is it just not a you shade?

I love easy fall nail art! Fall colors are just so rich & fabulous. I wanted to show some really easy nail art & stuff doesn’t get much easier than these random length & width stripes. I picked some fall-ish colors & had to use Sally Hansen Gold Roses as a background. I still just love this color & hate that it is limited edition! If you haven’t seen my swatches of this shade check them out! & without further chatter here are my easy shiny & matte fall brush strokes nail art!
I’ll link the shades I’ve swatched below in case you want to see them on their own! I love all of these shades & the way they came together.

& here it is mattified! I used Butter LONDON Matte Finish.

Surprisingly…I totally dig this matte! I think it adds more interest to the stripes since you honestly can’t keep that gorgeous rose gold base shade down, it is vibrantly awesome & truly rose gold no matter what! Love!

I hope you guys enjoyed this, I’ve been trying to come up with some easier nail art (as you guys have requested!) so I hope this was quick & easy! I’d love to see if you try something similar & I think I might try a holiday version later on as well!

Color Club Blue & Gray Fall 2013 Glittered Abstract Feathers Nail Art

November 18, 2013 By StephanieLouise 250Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fcolor-club-blue-gray-fall-2013.htmlColor+Club+Blue+%26+Gray+Fall+2013+Glittered+Abstract+Feathers+Nail+Art2013-11-18+13%3A51%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fcolor-club-blue-gray-fall-2013-glittered-abstract-feathers-nail-art.html

 photo ColorClubFall2013FeathersNailArtBlueGrayGlitter03_zps26e4b9c4.jpg

I bought it. PR Sample.

I wanted to create some nail art using the new Color Club Fall 2013 shades I reviewed here. This is what I came up with! Check out what I used & more photos below!

 photo ColorClubFall2013FeathersNailArtBlueGrayGlitter05_zps58e6a39e.jpg

Base color is Coor Club Silver Lake & feathers are Color Club Williamsburg (full review on both of these Fall 2013 shades here). I added a tough of gray to darken up the centers a bit with Color Club Muse-Ical. The glitter is Color Club Magic Attraction which I’ve had for ages.

 photo ColorClubFall2013FeathersNailArtBlueGrayGlitter06_zps97d12c45.jpg
 photo ColorClubFall2013FeathersNailArtBlueGrayGlitter02_zps5c4ec39b.jpg
 photo ColorClubFall2013FeathersNailArtBlueGrayGlitter04_zpsdb97adec.jpg
 photo ColorClubFall2013FeathersNailArtBlueGrayGlitter01_zps0a51dc69.jpg

This manicure was absolutely inspired by @thary_xoxo on Instagram. I pinned this photo (see it here!) ages ago but I thought I’d try more of a watercolor type feel since I wanted to use grays & blue. I think the glitter adds pizazz (duh, glitter!) but I think the pink/holo is also a nice accent without being too crazy. I topped it with Color Club top coat as well.

 photo ColorClubFall2013FeathersNailArtBlueGrayGlitter07_zps099987a6.jpg

It doesn’t look nearly as “feathery” this close up but further away it looked pretty cool! ๐Ÿ™‚

I really like it! I think it is really pretty & although most of these shades are fall releases I think it would be pretty for winter too. What do you think? Have you done any feather inspired nail art? I’d love to see it!

Butter London Ice Duo- Bluecoat & Leccy Swatches & Review

November 13, 2013 By StephanieLouise 257Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fbutter-london-ice-duo-bluecoat-leccy.htmlButter+London+Ice+Duo-+Bluecoat+%26+Leccy+Swatches+%26+Review2013-11-13+14%3A12%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fbutter-london-ice-duo-bluecoat-leccy-swatches-review.html

If you love flakies then you’re in the right place! This is my first flakie from Butter London actually! Recently they released two duos, one Ice & one Fire. The Butter London Ice Duo contains Bluecoat & Leccy, both of which are quite lovely & perfect for winter. More information & swatches after the jump!
From Butter LONDON:
These lacquer duos will add a spark to your life with innovative overcoats that transform your lacquer with a festive look.

Bluecoat Nail Lacquer: Opaque, navy shimmer. A twist on the traditional style of dress in British private schools.

Leccy Overcoat: Sheer, blue opal fleck overcoat. Brit slang for electricity.

 photo ButterLONDONBluecoatNailPolishSwatches01_zps1f4bb39b.jpg
 photo ButterLONDONBluecoatNailPolishSwatches02_zps5c792327.jpg

Butter London Bluecoat- Lovely brightened navy shimmer. First coat was a bit patchy but the second coat evened out beautifully. 2 coats.

 photo ButterLONDONBluecoatampLeccyNailPolishSwatches03_zpsccd9b02d.jpg
 photo ButterLONDONBluecoatampLeccyNailPolishSwatches01_zps037a6239.jpg
 photo ButterLONDONBluecoatampLeccyNailPolishSwatches02_zpsbfae8331.jpg
 photo ButterLONDONBluecoatampLeccyNailPolishSwatches04_zps19ff1975.jpg

Butter London Leccy- A shard flakie top coat with flashes of blue, green, purple, & orange. One medium coat. This was a bit thick but that is what makes it easier to grab the pieces I believe. If you’re used to flakies this won’t be a problem to apply at all, nice formula actually!

Overall, a very pretty duo! You can pick this up from ULTA, Macy’s, Nordstom, or the Butter LONDON website for $24, that is a nice deal since polishes usually retail for $15 each!

What do you think of this duo? Winter-y right?  Looks snowy to me ๐Ÿ™‚

Sinful Colors Laced Up- This is what I’d call a poppy red which to me always looks more orange. This is one coat & it does dry matte. I wanted to shoe it with topcat as well, it is truly a beautiful shade.

The directions from Sinful Colors was to add stripes of top coat at varying lengths to make the finish look more like leather. What do you guys think? I think it had kind of a cool effect but I prefer it matte or shiny. I also took another photo which is the first one in the post!

Sinful Colors Strapped- This is a really unique shade, kind of a cool toned jade. I really love it! With topcoat you can see it shines a bit more green! Again, this dries matte.

I really like these shades & am definitely interested in checking out some more! I especially love Strapped, such a gorgeous shade! If you’ve been wanting to try some new matte shades then I found the formula on these really lovely, the dry down is pretty much perfection, no unevenness at all!
