I have definitely been on a glitter craze…. I’m sure you’ll be seeing that this month & next! This is the Glitter Vixen Collection from Color Club.
Spookfest Day 29: Wet n Wild Blue Moon + Nubar 2010
Spookfest Day 28: Princess Fairy Nails with Nail Art
Spookfest Day 27: Revlon Scented Mon Cherry + Pumpkin Stamping
Spookfest Day 11: Facets of Fuchsia from Revlon
Comparable to Deborah Lippmann’s Bad Romance. I actually think I like Revlon’s a tad better, and I definitely like the price better!
Seen here as only 1 medium coat of LA Colors Black on Black! I seem to prefer black jellys over a black base but that is just my personal preference. For opacity without a black base, you will be looking at 3-4 coats. No top coat so this is the original shine. I applied my Seche Vite before work for a high gloss finish, but honestly, kind of wish I didn’t. The original look was perfect.
If you follow me on twitter, then you saw my technical difficulties last night and know why I couldn’t get this up last night! Anyway, sorry, but 2 nail pols will be up today so no worries!

Green Lantern Manicure
Oh Ryan Reynolds, how I adore thee.
I decided to do a manicure dedicated to Green Lantern since I love the color green and the posters were great. Here is how it all turned out and the products I used!

Here is a close up of Femme Couture Nail Laquer in Garland. It looks almost black in the bottle but really has a beautiful deep green shine. For this manicure I used the sponging technique. Basically, you paint your nail with a base color (Sinful Colors-Innocent) then you let that dry. Next comes the sponging! You can use pretty much any type, but they WILL give you different effects. If you use a large pored sponge, simply cut of the corner and dip in polish or paint heavily. Expect a messier application and bigger marks. You can also use smaller pored sponges with handles on them, found in discount stores for cheap. You can also pick them up in the craft/painting section of craft stores or Walmart/Target. I prefer to use smaller pored sponged simply because I like the effect better.
For this look, I decided to do an accent nail. This one happens to be on my ring finger using a darker base coat for a little bit of villainous appeal.
For that nail in particular I used the following nail polishes in the following order: Covergirl Boundless Color in Midnight Magic (applied to whole nail on top of base coat), Milani Holographic 3D in High Tech (Sponged 2/3 of nail from top to bottom), and lastly LA Colors Color Craze in color #571 (Sponged at the tip). The silver is highly metallic and has great coverage.

This picture is before I touched them up, but it captured the shimmer and brightness really well. |

And lastly, my manicure with my bottle of Milani 3D Holographic in High Tech, which is spectacular. |
For a base coat I used Magnetico by Borghese and my top coat (applied lightly) is Mega Shine Extended Wear Top Coat by Sally Hansen.
June 2011 Birchbox
Oh Birchbox, you have outdone yourself. No knowledge of this beauty holy grail? See my overall explanation and review RIGHT HERE.
I tell myself every month, “I shall not sneak peek my box. I shall not watch other haul videos or read blogs that will ruin the surprise.” So of course, that never lasts. I am one of the last to get my box and I get quite impatient. Obviously, I was psyched about this months box after seeing others receive the full-size Laura Geller product. & I am no less happy now that I have received it.
Let the haul begin!!!
So happy with
the items I recieved! Here is the breakdown:
ITEM-BRAND-AMOUNT IN SAMPLE-PRICE AND FULL-SIZE OF PRODUCT
1. Blow Up Daily Volumizing Shampoo-BLOW NY- 2FL OZ – $16 for 9 FL OZ
2. Twirl-KATE SPADE – .05 FL OZ -$65 for 1.75 FL OZ
3. Baked Blush N’ Brighten-LAURA GELLER-FULL SIZED SAMPLE- $29.50 for 0.32 OZ
4.Molecular Mist-SIRCUIT COSMECEUTICALS- 8 ML- $36 for 2 OZ
5. Stripper to Go Nail Lacquer Removers-DEBORAH LIPPMANN- 2 Mitts- $12 for 10 Mitts
Impressions: I love the Blush, which I feel is more of a bronzer. Nice shimmer, love that it is full sized, and I have been wanting to try it for the past few months. Shampoo has kind of a fresh and herbal scent. The bottle is good quality, will travel well. The nail polish mitts will be lovely to travel with too. Twirl by Kate Spade is tiny. I wish it were larger so I could try layering it with other scents, on its own, its not for me. They make it seem like its going to be fruity, which I love, but it doesn’t to me. NOTE: This could be my skin chemistry. Last, the Molecular Mist. I have been wanting to try a product like this so I’m so happy it was included. It is actually a decent size, smells nice and herbal, but not too strong. I think I will be loving it this summer. I might even buy a full size!
Overall: Very happy. You can’t beat the price. $10 for the box, when the Blush N’ Brighten in Honey Dipped alone is about $30. Very satisfied.
Sinful Colors Nail Polish
BlSinful Colors is a nail polish brand that only a few years ago most hadn’t encountered. Now it is popping up quite a bit and a lot of people ask me about it. Personally, I find mine at Walgreens for $1.99, but I know other similar stores carry them.
I find that these are much better quality than most cheaper polishes. One thing to keep in mind is that these polishes don’t appear to be thick and if you only want opaque polishes, these will usually take at least 3 coats. If you like the glitz and glamour but don’t want to buy OPI or China Glaze, these are great to try out. You might find you like or dislike certain colors and not everywhere will take them back!!! Keep in mind, I have applied more than one coat of each, which I will detail below. These are my top 5 most used Sinful Colors. What are some of yours?
All from Sinful Colors, colors in order from pinkie to thumb. Each has no top or base coat. 2 heavy coats each.

Mint Apple (thumb) is a beautiful muted teal with a golden shimmer. It is subtle and easy to apply. Hazard (pointer) is a coral I use very often. No shimmer, dries with a shine, and is wonderful for summer. Social Ladder (middle) is a great all around neutral. In the bottle it looks pink than on the nails. It shines pink, purple, blue, and green but in a VERY muted way. I have worn it to weddings. Innocent (ring) is my favorite lime green. It is extremely easy to apply and fills in all my ridges smoothly. No shimmer. What’s Your Name (pinkie) is very hard to photograph. I love it. It is black with micro blue glitter. If you used to rock black nail polish in your younger years, this is the perfect way to gracefully move from the harshness to something with an undertone. Looks thin, but goes on surprising well to make a nice clean manicure.
If you have any questions let me know! What are some of YOUR favorites? I’d love to hear them!!!
NOTE: I have not received any kind of payment for any of my references or reviews.
