Valentine’s Day holds a special place in my heart. My parents were married on this day so its always been extra love-y in my house. I’m a military wife so I have spent Valentine’s Day alone. This year I’m not so its especially special! Whether you call it a greeting card holiday or if you cherish this day of love, its one of my favorites in spirit.

Holiday manicures are always tough for me. I get so excited & plan out tons of designs then I tend to get super busy. This year was no different. I finally found all of my stamping tools since moving & knew I needed to stamp! I picked up Sinful Colors Daredevil a few days ago & decided a vibrant hot pink would be perfect. I adore hot pink with black so it all blended well.

This is actually 3 coats but I might have been able to get by with 2 medium ones. I am impressed and really love this color. Now onto the bad. SO HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH! You’ll see some shimmer here and there due to lighting but in person its not there. I think it more comes off as the shine.

I feel like this captures the color while other pictures pick up the brightness.

I love these roses. They really show up great. The black polish is a rather ancient Wet n Wild from I don’t even know how long ago. One is from a Red Angel Plate & the other is from a Bundle Monster Plate.

I love this shade. It will be gorgeous on my toes & hands, especially for summer! Its so hot!

 Cinderella by Sinful Colors: A sheer, pale blue creme shade with pink glass flecks that shift from pink to silver to slightly golden.

I picked this up from Walgreens & fell in love. Although Aurora AKA Sleeping Beauty is my favorite princess, Cinderella will always hold a special place in my heart. The girls at school insist on reading it at least once a week! This shade is a bit sheer on its own, but over a blue creme it would be ideal! The glass flecks are densely packed enough that one or two coats over the blue creme would give a better effect than the 4 coats I have here. It also applied a little lumpy in some areas but I love the color!

I label this as a must have! If you love Cinderella & are fascinated by her gorgeous gown, for only $1.99 (or $1 on sale this week!) you can own it! Are you loving this shade? Planning to pick it up?

 So, this is love? Yes I do believe so. What is it about red glitter when its not in a holiday collection that entices me so? Mixed with black, this turns into a pure siren call. Wet n Wild (AKA the owners of Spoiled) released Behind Closed Doors as part of the On the Prowl Collection which is VERY similar. I was unable to get my manicured claws on it, luckily fellow blogger I Am Definitely Addicted… was able to! I wanted to make sure you could see the difference between these two as in essence they are identical. Turns out, Ants in my Pants is even more impressive!

Spoiled has opened up some interest possibilities in drugstore nail polish. While I am the first to admit drugstore nail polishes are my main choice, I am very grateful to see a line catering to what works. Behind Closed Doors was a VERY hard to find shade when released as was Cougar Attack, now you can pick them both us as part of a core collection! Thanks for listening Wet n Wild!

So when I heard the new Spoiled line polishes were all popping up online, I was excited. My CVS had some good ones a few weeks back, but not every bottle I wanted! Before I placed my order online I thought I’d give my local CVS one more shot. These were ALL requested at one point or another so I hope you guys really enjoy them! Luckily they came through! Here are the 5 I picked up in no specific order of awesomeness:

Spoiled Nail Polish in Pet my Peacock

Although I don’t love ALL of the names, I am wild about these shades! Have you picked up any of these? As always, anything in particular you want to see swatched before the others?

I got a request to swatch 10 Professional in Creamcicle so here it is! I picked this up because it looked good and sheer for french tips perhaps?

 Creamcicle by 10 Professional: A mix between a jelly & creme in texture. This shade is what I think of for a peach or orange sorbet. This is definitely a peach with a nude undertone. Glossy finish.

I got this on clearance at CVS along with the rest of the line. I really love this, so creamy! One coat would give me the look I want for french tips but the 3 coats (which doesn’t dry heavy) dries super smooth & way shiny! I am not wearing a top coat, just a base which I didn’t clean up nearly as well as I should have! Sorry about that!

I picked this up in my Walgreens Haul because it was a really interesting color mix. In store under the dreadful lighting for makeup, I honestly couldn’t even decide what all was in it! But overall its gorgeous and unlike any of my other glitters I currently own.

 Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in Rockstar Pink. Shown here with 3 coats. Little to no visible nail showing afterwards! It really did coat well. Its drying, like all glitters, but I do so love  it. This is without a top coat.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in Rockstar Pink has multiple shades of glitter in it. Most bloggers are saying its mainly pink, but I honestly see tons of red too. Next down the line is this gorgeous electric blue and last there is a superfine gold glitter/shimmer.

With a tiny price tag, I think this is a bargain. To get rid of some of the graininess I’ll probably  apply 1-2 coats of Seche Vite. Personally though, I don’t mind it. What do you think of this color combo? Have you seen it before?  Are you looking to pick this up? I think next time I’ll wear it on my tips!

So the big excitement of my haul from Walgreens was this beauty, Milani Nail Lacquer Jewel FX in Hot Pink. As requested, here is this stunner in swatches. I put 2 coats of it over Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Black Out which only took one medium coat. I topped it with one coat of Seche Vite. If you notice any tiny glints of glitter, I’ve been working on a very special project which I’ll be showing you soon!

Milani Jewel FX in Hot Pink is a mix of two hex glitters suspended in a nice clear base. So one type of glitters are distinct holos. These are brilliant and although they can be mistaken for silver from a distance, they are magnificent. Because of their larger size, you really see the reflections of rainbows varying from piece to piece. The other shade is what I imagine Milani feels is a hot pink whereas I see it as more of a dark pink bordering fushia in certain angles. These hex glitters are at what I would call a larger size, but that is just my take on it.

Application is like any larger size glitter, some assembly required. You always have to do some wiggling and such. I do love the clear base though, it was just the right consistency! 

So did it live up to the hype? This was the most requested when I hauled it, will you be in search of it? I personally love it, especially over black. I think for spring I’ll put it over a nice lime or neon blue.

 After starring at Lilac Chantilly on its own for quite awhile, I decided I would go more towards winter. It already has this awesome silver undertone so it got me thinking of snow. Granted, we haven’t had any decent snow here, but still I dream of snow. So immediately I thought of Sally Hansen Glass Slipper! I bought this quite awhile ago and used it maybe once before I got sidetracked. I can’t believe this is its debut on the blog as its such a popular shade, but here it is!

Glass Slipper is from the Sally Hansen Diamond Strength line which has been redesigned. I do love the new bottle, but I’ll get a better shot of that with a shade that’s easier to capture. Glass Sipper reminds me of a flakie without the color change. Flecks of white, icy flakes of varying sizes. Its way hard to photograph, but maybe over a darker shade it’ll be easier? I’ll have to do some testing.

This is 2 coats of gorgeous. I am totally loving this effect which mimics some high-end shades.

  So..this is one of those good news bad news nail polishes. I got requests to swatch this (which I’m always more than happy to do!) except then I lost it in my house. As lame as this sounds…seriously its entirely possible & happens rather frequently. So, then I found it! Yay! Now onto the good news bad news of the actual polish.

Lilac Chantilly is a gorgeous metallic in the bottle. A blue toned lavender…which means right up my alley. Anything purple…I want. This has a spectacular mix of silver-y sheen. So what’s the issue? I don’t know if you can tell, but its crazy drying! This is 3 coats. I can see every ridge in my nail which isn’t what I’m wanting when I apply polish. I’ve had some issues with Sally Hansen metallics in the past & it seems to be a repetitive issue. The dryness.

So although that’s clearly the bad, here’s the good. I think I can salvage this. This is going to have to be a base color or go over 2 coats of seche vite for a smooth application, but I will save it. Its a color I like enough to take the time to make it work, which is rare honestly.
