Spoiled Nail Polish I Only Eat Salads Swatches & Review

March 22, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8456 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fspoiled-nail-polish-i-only-eat-salads.htmlSpoiled+Nail+Polish+I+Only+Eat+Salads+Swatches+%26+Review2012-03-22+14%3A23%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fspoiled-nail-polish-i-only-eat-salads-swatches-review.html

So while I’m wearing my KISS Nail Dress in Bodysuit & testing out the wear, I thought I would show the the long awaited swatch of Spoiled’s “I Only Eat Salads” which is amazing. I used this in my Rainbow Sponge Manicure & it was a standout for sponging.

Spoiled Nail Polish in I Only Eat Salads: A yellow-green lime shade that’s a creme. No shimmer in sight.

The first coat was streaky, something about the brush, but the 2nd made is completely opaque. I love this polish!

I topped this shade with 1 coat of Seche Vite which glossed right on & made the finished product pretty stunning!

I picked this up at CVS for only $1.99. To see some other shades I picked up (gee I buy a lot!) just type a brand or color into my search bar or scroll down to the very bottom where you’ll see lots of clickable options!

Do you have this shade? Loving it for spring & summer especially!

Kiss Nail Dress in Bodysuit Review + 3 Ways to Use Them!

March 21, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8462 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fkiss-nail-dress-in-bodysuit-review-3.htmlKiss+Nail+Dress+in+Bodysuit+Review+%2B+3+Ways+to+Use+Them%212012-03-21+15%3A38%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fkiss-nail-dress-in-bodysuit-review-3-ways-to-use-them.html

So I love these types of products, but I always find myself wavering about them. From KISS to Sally Hansen to other decals, they cost about $8-$10, often more. I can get a sweet bottle of polish for that! So when I shell out the dough, it needs to be worth it!

When Influenster sent these to me to review in my Love Voxbox I was over the moon. The print, the shimmer, the metallic touches, …Ahhhh right up my alley! But what could I do to make them more original? How could I make my review worthwhile to readers? Then it came to me. If I want to most bang for my buck, wouldn’t you?

So you get 3 seperate sheets of decals in the package plus a nail file. When applying, they feel like super thin, slightly stretchy window decals. Easy to stick, I rub my finger over it to seal, & that’s about it. The idea is to file off the excess but I prefer cutting it close to my nail then filing. For each of the 3 methods, see below!

FROM ONE PACKET OF KISS NAIL DRESS:

1. Full Manicure. I was able to apply a full manicure to my hands with little to no mess. I had to cut a few to size because my nails are so small BUT I saved the excess so I could use them in step #3.

2. Pedicure. I was also able to give myself a full pedicure. Granted I have tiny nails, but heck, I’ll take it!

3. Lots left over for nail art! I saved the large pieces from my mani & pedi so I can use them later! Leopard tips? Stripes? Hearts? Who knows, but the options are endless!

Get what I’m saying? That’s a lot of bang for your buck! This set retails for only $6.99 & I got a manicure, pedicure, & extras for nail art! Can’t beat that!

Influenster sent me the option “Bodysuit” which is amazing. White base with hot pink & vibrant purple details. On top of that is a silver shimmer base that’s gorgeous, but not over the top. The last details are black & metallic silver leopard spots, rawr! Love how over the top & Jerseylicious it is!

You should be able to pick these up in this shade & many others (some with jewels!) for $6.99 from CVS, Walmart, & Walgreens.

*As I said this was provided from Influenster.

I Scored 99 cent Color Club Nail Polishes at my Walgreens?

March 20, 2012 By StephanieLouise 84710 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fi-scored-99-cent-color-club-nail.htmlI+Scored+99+cent+Color+Club+Nail+Polishes+at+my+Walgreens%3F2012-03-20+14%3A06%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fi-scored-99-cent-color-club-nail-polishes-at-my-walgreens.html

What’s that you say? I’ve lost my mind? Wait? I’ve gone….MAD? Oh no, this is not a dream.

So I’m hitting up Walgreens for the new Sinful Colors Girls With Pearls Collection (which they didn’t have) & as I am walking fown the aisle I see a bunch of Color Club nail polishes. Imposters? Oh no, because I bought a set in a collection! The glitters on the top row, I spent like $10-$15 on it when it was clearanced! So who is doing this? Who is standing in a corner giggling as I put all of these in my cart to have them ring up as $8? WAIT! THEY DIDN’T! 99 cents a piece people.

So what’s going on? I wanted to know the same thing, trust me. Would there be more? Should I be stalking them? Well here is what I figured out. Notice when I noted the collection I had already bought? Well here it is in a post I did in November, it is called the Glitter Vixen Collection. The mystery deepens no? Well, then I found some empty packages behind Mr. Bunny. Click! They are pulling past collections out, ripping off the packaging, & selling them as singles! You think I’m nuts? Ask Mr. Bunny, pretty sure he saw it all. There was a whole ‘nother wall of these too, but they were all repeat shades. I BELIEVE I got one of each color besides the clear top coat…& the ones I already have of course. I did buy 2 of one shade I already have though for gifts.

As I was checking out, the lady was shocked. I could tell she knew her nail polish….guess we know what she did after I left!

If you see ANYTHING like this in YOUR local Walgreens, PLEASE let me know! I want to know if this is like…because my Walgreens is a rebel or if this happens sometimes? Definitely news to me!

I will be posting pictures of all the polishes ASAP, first I need to find their names though & I wanted to get the word out first!

Mani of the Day: St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Sponge Gradient Manicure

March 16, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8534 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fmani-of-day-st-patricks-day-rainbow.htmlMani+of+the+Day%3A+St.+Patrick%27s+Day+Rainbow+Sponge+Gradient+Manicure2012-03-16+17%3A17%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fmani-of-the-day-st-patricks-day-rainbow-sponge-gradient-manicure.html

This has been in my dreams seriously. A rainbow sponged mani using all the colors at once? Truth! I saw this on another blog, LaynieFingers, so here is the link to that post! She only did one nail rainbow but totally shows the method & such. Hers is gorgeous!

What I Used:
Red- Sally Hansen xtreme Wear in “Cherry Red”
Orange- Essie “Vermillionaire”
Yellow- Color Club “Almost Famous”
Green- Spoiled “I Only Eat Salads” ( Full swatch soon, loving it!)
Blue- Sinful Colors “Why Not”

Purple- Color Club “Pucci-licious”

White Base- Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in “Whirlwind White”
Top Coat- Seche Vite

Obviously you can sub any of these shades but what I like about these are they are all close to or opaque in one coat & none of them have shimmer.

How to Achieve it: You paint all of the colors on a sponge in rainbow order then sponge on your entire nail! Wam bam thank you ma’am! Really, that’s it! No pesky layering, more control. I loved this method although I didn’t have a ton of time so I left some white. Next time, I won’t bunch up some of my colors either, they blend on their own anyway.

BONUS- My Seriously Creepy Attempt at a Leprechaun….EEEEEEK! ERASE ERASE ERASE!

Voila! I love this, really. My kids went nuts for it too which is always an awesome bonus! Do you have a rainbow mani? Feel free to link below, I’d love to see it!

Mani of the Day: Sinful Colors Olympia + a Few Flowers

March 12, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8572 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fmani-of-day-sinful-colors-olympia-few.htmlMani+of+the+Day%3A+Sinful+Colors+Olympia+%2B+a+Few+Flowers2012-03-12+16%3A05%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fmani-of-the-day-sinful-colors-olympia-a-few-flowers.html

I feel like this is the color of spring. Not grass green, not the lightest cream either, but a gorgeous creamy green that still has some color to it. Olympia is from the Sinful Colors Cast Away Collection & probably the one I was most excited about. It just looked so gorgeous in the bottle, my husband also said it was a cool shade. Ha. Okay so I made him say something about any of the nail polishes I happened to be hoarding that day & he picked Olympia. Semantics.

Olympia- A mix of mint & pea green paled down & with a creme consistency.

This actually didn’t apply as well as the others have, which is why I topped it with a coat of Seche Vite. It applied a little chunky/streaky in some areas, but it really means something that I still love it. This also looks great against my fair skin which doesn’t always happen with lighter greens. Sometimes I feel like they make my hands look super vein-y or pale in general. This one does not, woo!

The flowers are Sinful Colors Daredevil for the pink & Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Whirlwind White. Iused a regular ol dotting tool.

Also, this is said to be a dupe of Essie’s Navigate Her! So $1.99 & a little goopy as opposed to $8? You be the judge! I love this shade either way! Please forgive my SO DRY cuticles…I am having an allergic reaction that makes my hands dry as all heck & peel. Gross overshare but I don’t want you thinking you should have cuticles that look like mine!

Any recommendations on a fab hand cream? Do you love this shade by either brand? I sure do!

Mani of the Day: Sinful Colors in Neptune & Zoya Skylar

March 10, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8583 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fmani-of-day-sinful-colors-in-neptune.htmlMani+of+the+Day%3A+Sinful+Colors+in+Neptune+%26+Zoya+Skylar2012-03-10+20%3A48%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fmani-of-the-day-sinful-colors-in-neptune-zoya-skylar.html

So if you saw my haul of the Sinful Colors Cast Away Collection, then I bet it was hard to miss this beauty! Basically this is a deeper blue with silver shimmer…glitter…flecks? I am thinking flecks, but that’s me! Its lovely on the nail & was opaque in 2 coats. I did get some bubbling on my middle finger which is strange but I didn’t really notice until I was all ready to take pictures.

Sinful Colors Neptune: A rich, medium to deep blue with dense silver flecks that are very visible on the nail.

So when I saw this shade, I immediately thought back to Zoya’s Skylar. Even though that is a very gray toned blue, I remembered “blue with flecks of metallic” & my true love for this shade. Zoya’s True Collection was a definite favorite of mine & I find myself reaching for them frequently so even though I knew these two weren’t dupes, I thought I would compare them anyway! Skylar looks much more gold/silver next to Neptune, something I would have probably never noticed!

Do you own Neptune? Are you loving it as much as me?

Compare Sinful Colors Be Happy, Greek Isles, & Athens

March 6, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8603 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fcompare-sinful-colors-be-happy-greek.htmlCompare+Sinful+Colors+Be+Happy%2C+Greek+Isles%2C+%26+Athens2012-03-06+17%3A48%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fcompare-sinful-colors-be-happy-greek-isles-athens.html

So when I posted about the Cast Away Collection from Sinful Colors, I let you know this was coming. Normally I don’t have to compare colors that are all in the SAME collection, but this was pretty neccessary no? They are really close! I thought a look at all 3 side by side would help show differences.

In the bottle, Greek Isles & Be Happy are super close. I honestly double checked to make sure that I didn’t have two of the same shade before I left the store! They have a few differences though, which I outlined when I did the bottle shots in the prior post. Still though, to be in the same collection, I think they should have done something a little different with those two. Athens is different enough for me in the bottle & definitely different on the nail! In fact, I love Athens.

Pointer- Be Happy   Middle-Greek Isles   Ring- Athens

Pointer- Be Happy   Middle-Greek Isles   Ring- Athens

Pointer- Be Happy   Middle-Greek Isles   Ring- Athens

Pointer- Be Happy   Middle-Greek Isles   Ring- Athens

On the nail, these 3 shades are very different…luckily.Be Happy is clearly a shade or two lighter, but honestly most people probably won’t need Be Happy & Greek Isles. Athens is a gorgeous murky shade I love that definitely plays more on the green side of the spectrum. These are all 2 medium coats with no top coat. Nice shine right?

What do you think? Would you want all 3 or just 1-2?

Sinful Colors Cast Away Nail Polish Collection

March 4, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8616 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fsinful-colors-cast-away-collection.htmlSinful+Colors+Cast+Away+Nail+Polish+Collection2012-03-04+21%3A58%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F03%2Fsinful-colors-cast-away-nail-polish-collection.html

I think I’ve made it pretty clear I love Sinful Colors, especially everything they’ve been doing lately. For only $1.99 at my local Walgreens, I can pick up some seriously gorgeous shades. Cinderella? Daredevil? So it shouldn’t surprise anyone I picked up the entire Cast Away Collection when it became available to me. This collection consists of 8 shades that all remind me of ocean/beachy shades. Although 3 of these are really close in the color family ( Be Happy, Greek Isles, & Athens) I didn’t even care because I can’t get enough teal, blue, cream shades like this anyway. They are coming up tomorrow though, so I’ll hush on that till then. All of these are a bit too light to be color accurate which of course I couldn’t see till they were all up here. Darn natural light. Don’t worry, when swatched I’ll get them all color accurate & such this week.

Neptune: This is a purple toned blue in real life packed with silver micro shimmers. A sister to Zoya Skylar I believe, we’ll have to see it on the nail. Note its darker than it appears.

Pandora: A very dusty peach with pink/orange sheen. I don’t know if it will translate onto the nail or not. I have to admit, the name for this one is definitely not what I would have picked.

Grecian Sun: A true blue shade that reminds me of a lighter version of what most people think of jean blue. I love this shade even though its way too light in this picture. I see myself wearing this a lot this summer especially. No shimmer here.

Zeus: Of course I needed this as one of my pups is named Zeus! This is a really dusty purple with a bright purple sheen. I’m praying this translates well on the nail.

Olympia: I think I could sustain myself on green cremes for Spring, seriously. I love these types of shades. I don’t have Essie’s Navigate Her but I wonder how they compare, anyone have a thought on that? Either way a gorgeous light green that I’m sure to worship.

Be Happy: A super light creme with some super light visible silver/white shimmer. This leans light blue with a hint of green.

Greek Isles: VERY close to Be Happy in the bottle WITHOUT any shimmer. Slightly darker.

Athens: Like Be Happy & Greek Isles, but much darker & murkier. This reminds me of almost a teal seaweed type of color but lighter. I’d say this one might lean a bit more green.

Have you picked any of these shades up? Are there any must haves for you or have you seen them all before?

Mani of the Day: Kissy by Sinful Colors

February 23, 2012 By StephanieLouise 865Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F02%2Fmani-of-day-kissy-by-sinful-colors.htmlMani+of+the+Day%3A+Kissy+by+Sinful+Colors2012-02-23+16%3A37%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F02%2Fmani-of-the-day-kissy-by-sinful-colors.html

Let’s start off with if you have been reading my blog, you know teal makes appearances rather frequently. What can I say? I’m a mermaid at heart perhaps! This is gorgeous & although this is only 2 coats, I took a REALLY long time to capture its true beauty. Lots of colors to see! Please forgive my ring finger I jammed recently…ouch…

Kissy by Sinful Colors- A blue & turquoise base packed with micro flecks of lime, gold, green, blue, & teal. This appears both blue & green with flashes of a lime toned gold depending on the light.

This has been compared to Zoya Charla & I have to say I might even prefer this shade!

The formula on this is great. I did 2 coats so I still have VNL (visible nail line) but I’ve worn it for a week without chipping with no top coat! That’s insanity for me! This is available at Walgreens for only $1.99.

Have you picked this up? After seeing pictures, are you interested?
