I’ve been holding out on you. I purchased some seriously affordable palettes from Essence many months back & have been slowly working through each one. I picked these up from ULTA for around $5 & each mini palette contains a nice variation of shade. Pretty, affordable, & easy to get your hands on? Just keep reading to find out more & see these swatched!
Essence’s All About Eyeshadow palette is all about beautiful eyes: a gorgeous look is guaranteed by the eyeshadow palettes with six trendy colors each. The smooth texture of the eyeshadows contains shimmering, matte and metallic effects – for endless looks.
While Essence promises varying finishes, these are mostly shimmer & metallic. There are only 2 shades I’d consider a variation in matte & they’re both in the All About Nude Palette. Surprisingly there aren’t any duplicates either! There are two apricot shades that look the same but the reflective shimmer is totally different. Each theme is cute & definitely a bit fun. I like that none of these are super basic- they all have a bit of a twist.
Essence All About Candies Eyeshadow Palette–
This palette is a transformer- like this more expensive transforming palette I reviewed & demoed here! Most of the transforming eyeshadows I own are limited edition so I’m excited to have something you guys can get more easily! Basically you can use these shades on their own & they reflect different shades in the shimmer. The best way to use them is over a black base though! The shades pop like crazy & you can create really cool looks like the one here!
Top row: a golden yellow sheer shimmer, a cool-toned very light pink shimmer, & a lilac sheer shimmer.
Bottom row: a baby pink sheer shimmer, a baby blue sheer shimmer, & a seafoam green minty sheer shimmer.
Essence All About Sunrise Eyeshadow Palette–
This isn’t just an all shimmer palette but all metallic except for the last darkest brown which is a satin. Gorgeous sunrise-inspired neutrals & an especially lovely gold. The apricot shade is a bit flaky but when I apply it wet it really goes on dramatically smooth. Pair this with something matte & neutral & the looks you create will be stunners.
Top row: a satin/soft metallic off white, a champagne-toned bronze, & a a pinkish-toned bronze metallic.
Bottom row: a liquid gold metallic, a slightly chunky brightened apricot metallic, & a satin grey-toned brown with light golden shimmer.
Essence All About Paradise Eyeshadow Palette–
I freely admit I didn’t have high hopes for this set of colors. Brights seem to be really difficult to get right! Very rarely do you see colors like this at drugstore prices & even more rarely do they perform well on the eyes. I’m happy to say this one shocked me! All of these shades are blendable, buildable, & are definitely unique! My favorite is the mermaid/minty green- so pretty!
Top row: an eggshell shimmering satin, a pale apricot with pink shimmer, & a red-toned pink with pink sheen.
Bottom row: a bright yellow shimmer with yellow sheen, a minty mermaid teal-based green with teal sheen, & a brightened blue with silver micro-glitter.
Essence All About Nude Eyeshadow Palette–
The last palette is gorgeous & actually more pink/purple toned than nude! I love this so much for fall especially! The brown-based burgundy in this palette? OMG just let me live in this beautiful color all season! This is also the palette with two satiny mattes. Some of the shades are definitely more sheer but they build up on the eye & work wet as well.
Top row: a somewhat sheer white-toned beige, a pink-toned nude matte, & a very cool taupe metallic.
Bottom row: a neutral pink satin with pink shimmer, a grey-based satin matte brown, & a brown-based burgundy metallic.
You can pick these up on the ULTA website now but I’ve also seen them in the store if you want to go that route! Any of these little palettes catch your eye? Which shades are you most interested in? What are your favorite Essence products?
