Textured nails have been a hit for me. They wear really well & I am loving having something a bit different. Sometimes you just need to switch it up! Sally Hansen Sugar Coat nail polishes have been a fun way to dive into this trend. If you caught Part 1 ( check out these pastel/springy shades!) & Part 2 (primary & basic shades!) then you noticed none of them had any shimmer. Today I fix that! I picked up two containing shimmer (like OPI Liquid Sands or Zoya Pixie Dusts which I also reviewed) & then two original shades without shimmer. I finally found a gorgeous purple, stunning teal, & two unique shimmers. Keep reading for the breakdown!
I applied 2 coats of each shade, no top coat for each shade except Royal icing which required more. 

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish in Royal Icing- Sheer light blue with fine pink/gold shimmer. This is a pretty sheer shade, this is 3 coats. I will definitely use a base next time. This is the sheer, textured version of Sinful Colors Cinderella. Much more impressive in person.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish in Spare-A-Mint?- A perfect teal. I feel like this one has a really nice texture & was pretty opaque! You might be able to get away with one coat but 2 thin ones lends better texture.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish in Pink Sprinkle- A cranberry jelly type base with irregular glitters that look gold & copper/light bronze. I love this one, such a gorgeous combo for fall!

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish in Gummy Grape- A medium grape purple with cooler tones than most of my other purples.

I’m really happy with the 4 shades I picked up from this new collection! I found mine at Walgreens on a specialty display. As far as I know these are all limited edition so if you want them, you’ll have to snap them up! What do you think of these shades? Do you prefer textured polishes with shimmer or without?

So I’m way late. I took a bit of a break to enjoy the holiday & time off with my husband for the holiday. 4th of July is probably the most special holiday with him so it is really personal. It sounds kind of funny, I doubt most people are the same way! If you know us, my husband is in the Air Force but it really doesn’t have anything to do with that. The 4th of July is the ONLY holiday since we got married that he has been home for EVERY year! Now that is special! Okay, enough mushy stuff, check out this amazing manicure from Shimmer Polish!

I absolutely love this polish! Nichole is so patriotic & really catches the light insanely well for not being packed to the brim with holos. Flashy & screams USA (or UK!) for me without being any work at all! Pretty much effortlessly awesome! This applied nicely & the glitter disbursement was top notch as well.

The Revlon Brilliant Strength™ nail enamel line looks similar to the ColorStay bottles except with white lids. They have a nice wide brush that makes application easy & is meant to strengthen nails to combat breaking & brittleness. One of the things that draws me to these shades the most are the built-in base & top coats. You’ll see these swatches without either & they are quite nice & shiny! They also have a nice wear time & with 24 shades to choose from you’re bound to fall for at least a handful! (Ha…handful?)

Coming in a wide range of colors & variations you’re bound to find at least one that suits your fancy. In fact, you might even find one of your namesake. Today I’m showing you Leslie. Shimmer Leslie- A light blue & lavender small hex base with scattered medium blue hexes, hot pink, silver, & silver micro hexes, & various like blue/periwinkle shimmer. When you hold your hand out, it looks like it shifts with dimension from more of a periwinkle with a slight lavender tinge. 2 thin coats over Lancome Aqua Bleu (see full swatches here) & a top coat.

Overall I think this is a really lovely shade & it would look nice over anything. I picture it as kind of delicate & feminine, likely because I’ve been wearing so many neon glitters lately. I put it over another shade that is also pretty & soft to kind of go with the flow. I think this would be stunning over black or a deep berry or plum as well this fall.

When it comes to nail polish, color is king. I can work with any kind of formula for a great color. Then…there are those polishes that hit home in all of the areas. Beautiful formula, shiny finish, gorgeous shades? Lancome has me hooked. On top of that, these are blues & a purple…I couldn’t ask for more. Check out the swatches & review of the Lancome Vernis in Love polishes below!

These shades come packaged in your standard Lancome packaging, nice silver boxes. Unfortunately, that is the only location the polish name is located. I’ve included numbers next to the shades below for reference since the number is on the bottom of the bottle for shade reference.

Midnight Rose 441- A beautiful red toned berry. 2 coats. Part of the Part of the Lancôme Fall 2012 Collection.

All three shades were pretty fabulous, from application to wear. Each shade is a lovely cream with an awesome brush. When I first opened the bottles I wasn’t impressed, the brush looks average. However, upon application, I was very happy. These applied like butter & leveled out beautifully. I wore the shades for several days with nice wear as well. I could have gotten away with one medium coat if I wasn’t doing swatches, they’re very nicely opaque. Very impressed overall.

Want to see a polish that totally blew my mind? Feast your pretty eyes on Lush Lacquer’s Clowning Around. I bought this off Etsy because I absolutely needed it in my life. I’ve seen so many bloggers come up with beautiful combinations with this glitter combo but for these swatches, white was definitely the winner. Keep reading to see more pictures!

Lush Lacquer Clowning Around- A mixture of small, medium,  & large hexes in hot pink, lime green, bright blue, bright yellow, bright orange, & purple suspended in a clear base. All of the glitters pop neon & layer nicely because they are somewhat sheer. Seen here is 2 coats somewhat sponged on plus a top coat over Wet n Wild French White Creme.

Love this combo. Obsessed. I bought mine off Etsy in a full size bottle along with a few other shades. I really like the bottle, it feels very professional & heavy. I also didn’t have an issues pulling glitter, tons of it in there & the base it is suspended it is great!

This shade definitely pops the most over white but I can’t wait to try it over other shades! I think it is going to be really spectacular.

So if you saw my swatches from the first half of this collection then you know I really enjoy them. There are some drawbacks but nothing that keeps me from using them. I even have some nail art coming up! These 4 shades from the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polishes are the primaries: red, blue, black, & white. Keep reading to see swatches & thoughts!

Sugar Fix- Excellent bright white. 2 coats. Super easy to apply. I’m actually really excited…I didn’t expect it to apply this nicely.

Razzle-berry- Brightened medium blue. 2 coats. This is a lovely shade & it is brighter than it looks here in photos. This stained around my cuticles.

Lick-O-Rich- A rich black. 2 coats. Perfection. Sorry it looks a bit shiny. Without lighting/flash you couldn’t really see the texture. This one applies really nicely.

Cherry Drop- A bright warm red. 2 coats. This one seemed thinner (notice the VNL) & for some reason it took forever to dry down. This might just be my bottle but it dries down better when I use it in nail art than in actual swatches. This shade also stained around my cuticles.

Don’t forget to check my swatches of the more spring-y shades. I like these shades more for the nail art perspective while I wear those on their own. I hope they come out with more from this line with this formula. I’d love to see some shimmers like the Zoya Pixie Dust shades I love so much!

I stick by what I said in my last review: These are very textured, apply grainy, & definitely won’t be for everyone. You apply them without a top coat to keep the texture but I haven’t had issues using a light base coat. It is totally necessary if they are staining shades as well. Again, these shades last very nicely but I don’t keep them on for more than 2-3 days even if they still look good. I find stuff clings to them & if you bake/paint/do something else a bit messy you really have to work to get these clean because it embeds itself a bit. Ew. Just keep that in mind.
