When I think about my hair I smile. Seriously, I’m extremely vain when it comes to my hair. I’m truly blessed. When reading about Turban Diva & Laurie Andreoni I started to cry. I can’t imagine being diagnosed with cancer & losing something that is truly a part of me. I know for a lot of people being sick would be the biggest problem but to see myself day to day not looking like myself would be so tough.

Years after receiving a degree in Fashion Merchandising, I made a complete career change to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic West. Losing my hair brought me full circle to create something that heals on another level.

Clearly Laurie knew what she was doing because she’s built a busniess not just for women who have lost their hair but for women who really love her products. I personally used to wrap scarves around my fair colored scalp whenever we went to the beach…back when I laid out in the sun without SPF. I promise I haven’t done that since I was 16.

Here I am wearing a black headband with hot pink flowers. I love that this is soft & flexible. I don’t have many headbands I could fall asleep in! I also love the it can be washed & just looks cute on!

 photo TurbanDivaReveiwGiveaway03_zps8782a8f1.jpg

This is the basic black turban set. You get a little black cap that fits over your head securely (can also be worn alone) with a little bit of rouging. I personally wear it towards the back but do what you like! Next you wrap the second piece which looks a lot like a scarf but made of the same material however you like. I’ve always liked a twist in the front.

I also wanted to point out she takes requests & has tons of prints online to choose from. All of her pieces you can mix & match which leaves you with lots of variety. Turban Diva has made a special free standard shipping (within the US) code for orders over $49 just use code: STEPHANIE. Please note that this code does not apply to totes & cannot be combined with other codes.
So, on to the giveaway! You can pick up a sweet $50 gift card if you complete the entries below. You have LOTS of options so be sure to fill in as many as you can for your best chance of winning! As always, should you have any issues with the Rafflecopter widget please try to reload the page, try it on a different page, or shoot me a comment & we’ll work through it.
Good luck everyone & happy entering! Big thanks to Turban Diva for making this possible!

I’m celebrating my fifth year of thriving beyond cancer, sharing Titillating Turbans with women worldwide. I look forward to the day when the only reason women wear them is for fashion. In the meantime, it’s my mission to make the difficult ordeal of chemo, alopecia and hair loss less stressful.

Requested: Forehead Braid

July 30, 2013 By StephanieLouise 357Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Frequested-forehead-braid.htmlRequested%3A+Forehead+Braid2013-07-30+12%3A59%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Frequested-forehead-braid.html

 photo RequestedForeheadBraid05_zpsed7c1c4b.jpg

So awhile back I got what stuck me as a strange request. Sometimes you guys tweet me, facebook, or email me requests/questions. Normally I totally know what to say but this problem threw me for a loop.

“hi I love your blog and had a question. I’m going back to school soon and grew out my bangs. I feel like my forehead looks bigger and was wondering if you had a hairstyle that didn’t pull my hair tight. Thanks!” – Tammi

 photo RequestedForeheadBraid02_zps209506c0.jpg

 photo RequestedForeheadBraid01_zpsbef5efa7.jpg

Personally, I don’t worry about my forehead much. I had bangs as a kid & totally hated them. Too much work when I just want to throw my hair up too! I think in 10 years when I start really noticing my wrinkles I’ll probably try them out but for now, no thanks. However, my mom has always had bangs. I decided to do something that brings the hair forward instead of pulling it taunt. What do you think?

 photo RequestedForeheadBraid03_zps5fea6926.jpg

This is a basic braid that I started behind my ear & pulled hair to the front somewhat loosely. I came upon this by sheer accident so sorry my part isn’t straight! I really tried! I teased my hair a bit to make the difference look more dramatic. I thought it looked nicer & I got several compliments from strangers which is always nice.

Does anyone else have ideas to help Tammi? I’d love to see/hear them! I know how important a good hair day can be!

Infiniti Pro by Conair Auto-Rotating Curling Iron Review + Uses

May 29, 2013 By StephanieLouise 427Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Finfiniti-pro-by-conair-auto-rotating.htmlInfiniti+Pro+by+Conair+Auto-Rotating+Curling+Iron+Review+%2B+Uses2013-05-29+12%3A49%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Finfiniti-pro-by-conair-auto-rotating-curling-iron-review-uses.html

 photo Conair-Rotating-Curling-Iron-Review-02_zps01a5e7d8.jpg

PR Sample. Affiliate Links.

Let’s start off with I love me some gorgeous curls! Waves, big, spiral, anything. Because my hair is stick straight (with irritating waves in the back under layers) curling my hair is a special treat. So why don’t you see it all that often? Because I have tons & tons of hair. Tons. My hair is very fine (hello baby hairs, I hate you) but ultra thick so it takes me quite awhile. Plus, with that much hair, it is hard to make curls look natural. The Infiniti Pro by Conair Auto-Rotating Curling Iron is kind of crazy when you first hear about it but honestly, you’re going to love it.

 photo Conair-Rotating-Curling-Iron-Review-03_zps91c532b5.jpg

 photo Conair-Rotating-Curling-Iron-Review-05_zps41b5d176.jpg

Press a button to rotate the barrel & the curling iron rolls your hair up. Push another & it unrolls. It is actually really simply to use & gives nice loose curls to my hair. Well, cool but how is that more than one type of curl? The clamp is so thin that not only does it not leave a mark but I can use it like a clipless curling wand. That’s what I did for this look. I used it as intended & as a clipless wand alternating to make my style more natural. I absolutely love this wand & that I can get so many different looks with only one tool!

 photo Conair-Rotating-Curling-Iron-Review-01_zpseb8ec497.jpg

From the Ulta site abut the Infiniti Pro by Conair Auto-Rotating Curling Iron:

  • Auto-rotating clamp holds hair and spins around to create the perfect curl
  • 1-in. tourmaline ceramic barrel for smooth, shiny, silky curls
  • Bi-directional rotation
  • No-slip silicone strip for deep shine
  • Less damage & zero hot spots
  • 400 degrees F high heat
  • 30-second heat up
  • Auto-off
  • Limited five-year manufacturer’s warranty
 photo Conair-Rotating-Curling-Iron-Review-04_zps2bba94d3.jpg

I haven’t been so impressed with a curling iron in a long time &  it is definitely original! I do want to urge you to pay attention to your timing though! You need to make sure you don’t leave it on so long because this curling iron can get hot! It will leave your hair shiny which is awesome,  just don’t get distracted! I also noted that I have to use a bit thicker sections of hair or else it slips a bit. The barrel is ultra hot & smoothe so it just means it takes less time for me to curl. I love that I don’t burn my fingertips rolling & unrolling…maybe this deadness in my fingertips from years of hot tools will heal? Either way, I’m glad I have the Infiniti Pro by Conair Auto-Rotating Curling Iron added to my arsenal.

Birchbox for May 2013 featuring Sumita, Coola, & a Video!

May 21, 2013 By StephanieLouise 433Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Fbirchbox-for-may-2013-featuring-sumita.htmlBirchbox+for+May+2013+featuring+Sumita%2C+Coola%2C+%26+a+Video%212013-05-21+23%3A17%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Fbirchbox-for-may-2013-featuring-sumita-coola-a-video.html

 photo BirchboxMay201301_zps117ee2ac.jpg

Birchbox has just been okay in recent months. It hasn’t been terrible but it also hasn’t been able to touch Ipsy (check out my May 2013 Ipsy bag here!) so I am on the fence. The reason I like Birchbox (referral link!) so much is the points. For every item in your box (usually about 5 items a month) that  you review on their site with a super quick survey the will give you 10 points. 100 points is equivilant to $10 to spend on Birchbox. Because the Birchbox store has things I actually want to buy (like Zoya polishes, theBalm blushes, etc.) I find that the boxes really only cost me $5 in the end. So that is how I think of it!

 photo BirchboxMay201303_zps0df27eda.jpg

 photo BirchboxMay201302_zps236c4e1e.jpg

Items in my Birchbox for May 2013:

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle- At first glance in the video this was a nice sized sample. Upon trying to use it…I can’t even get it to spray! I eventually gave up  & put it in my bare hands. It smells really nice like coconuts but it didn’t do anything all that great for my hair.

Coola Classic Sunscreen for Face Moisturizer SPF 30- I love Coola & reviewed this product specifically here. I like the size & plan to save it for travel! Their products also don’t break me out & since I liked this it will be perfect for my next trip!

Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum- Nice but didn’t blow my mind. The first notes it says are mandarin & rose but it definitely pulls more musky on me. I might actually have picked some up but it is way too expensive for me to be iffy about!

Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner- This doesn’t have a shade on it but if you look at the video it is lovely! I haven’t worn it on my eyes yet but it did set nicely & had a very comfortable texture that reminded me a bit of the NYX pencils. This doesn’t have a name because they’re being sold as a set of 4 mini liners on Birchbox shop.

Acroball Pure White Pen from Pilot- Nice extra but not something that made me go “Wow I’m so glad they included that!” I’m really into eraseable pens from Pilot right now though. This is a pink pen & I’m sure I’ll end up using it!

Overall, just an okay box. Am I thrilled paying $10? Probably not this month. However for $5 like I explained above I’m happy. I like the Sumita eyeliner quite a bit actually & Coola is a brand I enjoy overall. You can sign up for Birchbox by using my referral link here: https://www.birchbox.com?raf=csrwo I’ll get points for referring you & I’d appreciate it! For only $10 a month I have a good time & look forward to receiving it.

Scunci Hair Chalking Kit Review & Giveaway!

May 10, 2013 By StephanieLouise 449Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Fscunci-hair-chalking-kit-review-giveaway.htmlScunci+Hair+Chalking+Kit+Review+%26+Giveaway%212013-05-10+12%3A15%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Fscunci-hair-chalking-kit-review-giveaway.html

 photo Scunci-Hair-Chalk-Kit-01_zpsdff66a81.jpg

PR Sample.

I love color in my hair (planning on putting something more permanent in soon!) but hair chalking kits are starting to pop up here & there in all price ranges, shades, & setups so it is hard to choose just one! The Scunci Hair Chalk kit comes with 2 shades & an applicator that resembles a small hair straightener. With the phrase “Easy to use!” & ringing in under $10, you have to be curious to try it out right? Keep reading to find out what I think, how it looks, & enter for your chance to win one!

 photo Scunci-Hair-Chalk-Kit-03_zps1d8bb766.jpg

These packs come in two shade options: Pink/Green & Purple/Coral. I’ll be keeping my eye out for the other duo but I have the Pink/Green option today. If you’ve never used hair chalk before, it is actually pretty easy & I found this method quite a bit less messy with this first application using the Scuni tool. To change colors all you have to do is slide the chalk out of the holder & slide the other shade in. I am a bit worried what will happen when I use the chalk down to a nub or if I crack it though. When/if that happens I’ll just place it between my palms & use it the way I normally use brick hair chalk I suppose!

 photo Scunci-Hair-Chalk-Kit-02_zps4caffd41.jpg

Some things to remember about hair chalking:
– It will be messy but it will also wash off!
– Dampening hair will make the color significantly more intense.
– You can layer more chalk on if you want more vibrancy.
– I’ve found a touch of hairspray definitely helps color stay in.

 photo Scunci-Hair-Chalk-Kit-Pink-02_zpsc1f35c96.jpg
 photo Scunci-Hair-Chalk-Kit-Pink-01_zps2e75ad8b.jpg

This black hair straightener-esque tool kind of works like pinchers grasping onto hair while you apply pressure. You can apply color pretty much however you want root to tips, streaks, just tips, ombre, etc. I went with bigger streaks so you can really see the color. There was a bit of tugging in some areas but that’s just the learning curve. I eventually found the right angle & twist motion.

 photo Scunci-Hair-Chalk-Kit-Pink-and-Green-04_zps5bd2339b.jpg

 photo Scunci-Hair-Chalk-Kit-Pink-and-Green-01_zpsf1ce3363.jpg

Overall I didn’t find this difficult to use but I’ve also worked with hair color before. The pigmentation isn’t out of this world but it is buildable so I like it. I really liked both of these shades on me as well & I think they held up the same as other, more expensive hair chalking kits. This has me really looking out for the purple/coral type set since I think those shades would be really pretty together! I think this is really fun, especially for summer hair fun! I also think this would be easier to use on children since you have a bit more control. Who doesn’t want a bit more control when doing children’s hair?

 photo Scunci-Hair-Chalk-Giveaway_zpsba6945d5.jpg

I haven’t done a giveaway recently but I have a TON coming up & Scunci has offered to be the first! You’ll win the exact hair chalking kit I’ve reviewed here! I’ll e-mail the winner so please be sure to double check when entering your information into the rafflecopter widget! Remember I’ll be checking entries so double check that you are following this blog via GFC, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Bloglovin, Youtube, etc. before saying Yes! It will only take a moment! How to Get Beachy Waves for Long Hair (Heat & No Heat!)

May 2, 2013 By StephanieLouise 457Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Fhow-to-get-beachy-waves-for-long-hair.htmlHow+to+Get+Beachy+Waves+for+Long+Hair+%28Heat+%26+No+Heat%21%292013-05-02+20%3A29%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F05%2Fhow-to-get-beachy-waves-for-long-hair-heat-no-heat.html

Sponsored.

One of the things I like most about this video is that the model has thick hair & he lets us know it. I feel like sometimes beachy waves are overlooked for us! But hey! I like them too! I really like that the stylist goes over each step carefully so you don’t miss a thing too. Sometimes videos say “Okay I added A, B, & C off screen” & I’m like…HOW? How did you do all of that! Helpful!

Remember to watch the entire video (and enter the sweeps at the end!)

Sometimes though I need a no-heat style & if you have the time to let your hair dry…here is my method!

 photo DSCN7755_zpsb9172ac5.jpg

 photo DSCN7771_zps18453bf9.jpg

Step #1 Apply a detangler & brush or comb out your hair.

Step #2 Apply a beach wave spray from about the bottom of your ear down. I like the kind that contains salt because it really gives my hair that perfect beachy texture! Scrunch a bit with your hands to work it in.

Step #3 Roll your hair & pin into pin curls. Because my hair is more straight in some areas this really helps me! You can also twist the hair & pin for a different look. If you want Day #2 beachy hair you can pull your hair back into a large bun or 3 smaller spiral buns. Take it down the next day for easy, beachy waves.

Step #4 I like to add a bit more beach spray if neccessary. For the front of my hair I also add a bit of pomade so that my baby fine hair lays a bit flatter where I want it to. I all twirl certain sections around my finger with the pomade (wax works too!) to give it a bit more oomph.

Easy right? How do you create beachy waves? Are you as ready for sunshine as I am?

Dear Wonderful Readers…My Hair Needs Your Help!

April 3, 2013 By StephanieLouise 486Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F04%2Fdear-wonderful-readersmy-hair-needs.htmlDear+Wonderful+Readers...My+Hair+Needs+Your+Help%212013-04-03+13%3A02%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F04%2Fdear-wonderful-readers-my-hair-needs-your-help.html

So it is officially time for my hair to get a change. I’ve worked really hard to grow all the dye out of my hair (because purple & teal weren’t quite up to teaching standards!) but now I can do whatever I want! I really want to do what I did years ago with chunks of deep purple & teal in my hair & keep the rest natural. My hair is also a bit long for me & I’ve let my layers grow out. I have thick, fine hair for reference!

Woohoo! Back to thinking about damaging my hair. Since it has been years since I have dyed it or bleached out chunks to prep for bright shades, I don’t have the color safe product mojo anymore. What are the best products out there right now to help keep my color brighter longer? What are you doing with your hair this summer? &…how short to go?

I’m really excited to color my hair again but also nervous…hopefully it is like riding a bike? My plan at the moment is to dye my hair blonder to hide the distinct highlights I get during the summer which will lighten it then add the chunks of teal & purple. Go big or go home right? I’m nervous about how it is going to look but also really excited to have the freedom to do so!

So there you have it! I figure I’ll cut it first then dye it…because this is just too much hair as it is! Ch-ch-changes! I’m excited! What are you changing up for summer?

You’ll notice a contest on this video, here are the Sweeps Rules & the Prizes & Promotions page! I wish you lots of luck when you enter! This is a sponsored post but obviously all opinions are definitely my own! I really want to hear your tips & tricks as I embark on this new hair journey!!! XO

Why I Love Batiste Dry Shampoos in Original, Tropical, & Blush

March 11, 2013 By StephanieLouise 5082 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fwhy-i-love-batiste-dry-shampoos-in.htmlWhy+I+Love+Batiste+Dry+Shampoos+in+Original%2C+Tropical%2C+%26+Blush2013-03-11+15%3A10%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fwhy-i-love-batiste-dry-shampoos-in-original-tropical-blush.html

 photo DSCN5077_zpsc7667127.jpg

So I’ve been trying out Batiste Dry Shampoo (3 different varieties) for awhile now & it is finally time to tell you guys what I think! I spotted them at my local Walgreens (which means they’re likely everywhere else since my Walgreens is always the absolute last to know) so you can pick them up locally. I’ve also spotted them at ULTA. I know there are some other varieties & I definitely want to try them out to but for now I get to show you the Batiste Original, Blush, & Tropical varieties.

How I Use It:
I have pretty normal hair with ends that are a bit on the dry side. My hair looks so much better on day 2-3 & also holds a style tons better. My hair is very thick but it is also very fine. I use the dry shampoo by shaking the can a bit, aim for my roots, & spritz where needed. I then take clean hands & fluff up my hair a bit to work it into my roots. Pretty much automatically my hair gets nice & big. Sexy volume hair. No more residue of any kind. Sometimes I use it in the afternoon to re-volume up my hair for the evening. Works like a charm.

Batiste Original- This has that clean original scent that is perfect to start with if you aren’t big on scents in general. It smells clean but also very light & fades nicely. I love the striped can too, looks so classic.

Batiste Tropical- My personal favorite, this smells like drinking coconut drinks on a sandy beach. It smells divine to me & I reach for it the most. This can is bright & cheery, like a vacation in a can should be.

Batiste Blush- I like this one a lot for daytime use because it is a flirty floral. It isn’t too heavy though so don’t think old lady perfume, it has a nice feminine balance.

I am now officially dying to try a few of the other scents I haven’t had the opportunity to try yet! Wild, Cherry, & Lace are especially intriguing…I really want them! Because Batiste originated in the UK I’m not sure how hard it will be to get my hands on them but I’m up to the challenge!

Have you tried Batiste Dry Shampoo? Do you like dry shampoos? What kind of scent do you looks for?

Valentine’s Day: These Are a Few of my Favorite *Pink* Things!

February 8, 2013 By StephanieLouise 550Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fvalentines-day-these-are-few-of-my.htmlValentine%27s+Day%3A+These+Are+a+Few+of+my+Favorite+%2APink%2A+Things%212013-02-08+23%3A26%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fvalentines-day-these-are-a-few-of-my-favorite-pink-things.html

photo PicMonkeyCollagepinkfavs_zps8852bd09.jpgThroughout the year, I’m not a hardcore pink gal. I look fine in pink, love me some pink cheeks, & I don’t have a bad relationship…we just aren’t besties. However, when Valentine’s Day rolls around, I embrace it. The softness of baby pink, the flash of hot pink, & the ease of neutral pinks are absolutely perfect for the holiday. I thought it would be fun to show you some of my favorite things…all of them pink of course. I tried to link to reviews & such for your convenience too so that’s what they will link to. Keep reading to see my picks for eyes, lips, cheeks, fragrances, nails, & more!

Eyes: Some of my least worn eyeshadows are pink. I feel like they can be super tricky. When I want a perfect pink, these are the shades I real for. The Coastal Scents Palette is called Think Pink. A dozen beautiful shades & 8 of them are pink. The black is a favorite, it has pink shimmer. I didn’t swatch it but check out this eyeshadow look I did here using this palette that is definitely gloriously pink.

Lips: Can you tell I love pink lips? I could show you half a billion lip products but instead I’ll show you some of my favorites of the moment…with swatches!

Fragrance: Aquofina Pink Sugar, Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Temptation, & Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola! perfumes. All of these are pink, girly, & super different. Pink Sugar is totally sweet & will make you smell like the best candy/baked good/sugary treat ever. VS Very Sexy Temptation is my newest aquired fragrance & boy is it aptly named! It smells so sexy & feminine, perfect for a date night! Oh, Lola! from Marc Jacobs is positively bright & perfect for daytime wear.

Miscellaneous:

Carol’s Daughter Ectasy Shea Souffle: I got this in a Glossybox awhile back & although I didn’t think much of it at the time…I’ve since come to terms with my love. This smells like innocence with sugared strawberries. I’m absolutely in love & the texture is divine. This super light scent is perfection. I’ll be picking up a new container & also a fragrance soon!

Beauty Blender: I don’t think I need to explain this fabulous pink sponge soon! This is a backup as I use them until they completely beg for mercy & just seeing it in all that hot pink glory makes me oh so happy. The perfect way to apply foundation, sheer out thick foundation, & give a natural look. I haven’t found a dupe…& you know I’ve tried.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush: I love dry shampoo. When my fine hair just won’t do what I want it gives me volume. When I have extra oils, it eliminates them. & honestly, it often just makes my hair look generally better. Batiste Dry Shampoo is fabulous in every scent but Blush is really something special. Super feminine & floral it will instantly make you feel all girly inside.

Anastasia Hypercolor Hair Powder In The Pink: I love this color so much & I feel so rocker glam when I use it. I’m not even going to talk about it anymore…GO LOOK HERE!

Well there we have it!  Turns out…I kind of love pink! What are your favorite pink products? Are there any int his post you’d like to try? What makes you think of Valentine’s Day?
