Merry Christmas- if you celebrate! If not…well check out a new favorite way to rock a red lip! I wore this look to our Vegas Lifestyle Influencers Christmas in Paris dinner at the Oh La La Bistro… & fell in love! Normally when I rock a red lip, I go more for a neutral or smoky eye…but I swung this burgundy base on a whim & I’ll be repeating this again for sure! I bought Makeup Geek eyeshadows AGES ago…do you guys want to see more using them? I don’t have any of their new releases so let me know if they’d even be of interest! So for those who don’t know- I run a lifestyle blog called Home in High Heels. Sometimes people find Home in High Heels first (or @homeinhighheels on instagram!) & I’ve really enjoyed building that channel where I cover fashion, food, travel, pets, & pretty much anything else I find interesting! All Things Beautiful XO will always be my baby. When I knew I wanted to cover lifestyle content I was able to make a choice- switch to blogging lifestyle with beauty thrown in or start a secondary blog. & that’s why I have two! The only thing I knew about my night is that I needed to rock a long-wearing red lip. Our Christmas in Paris dinner was a themed black, white, & red party so it needed to be perfect! Normally I start with my foundation or eyeshadow details…but not this time! The lip was the most important part of this look! This is Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in the shade Rock Steady. & I’ve worn it basically since the chill hit the air here in Vegas. This is one of my favorite liquid lipstick formulas & one of the few I trust not to flake off while eating! You’ll notice I wear these a ton to events…because I don’t want to look ridiculous while eating in front of people. The Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in Rock Steady is from the Gwen collection & is my perfect brightened, cool red with a matte finish. I find this shade does best in two thin layers just for best wear & coverage- it layers up beautifully & quickly.

Like I said above- this isn’t my normal eye look when going with a red lip. Recently I pulled out my custom Z-Palette with shades from Makeup Geek I picked out years ago. I really enjoyed them but I honestly never launched into them. I sat it on my desk to make sure I dove in a bit deeper. & this is the result! But I did have to sneak in one cheater shade…

Starting out with an eyeshadow primer, I used the Original Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Next- the Makeup Geek Eyeshadows! Starting with Vanilla Bean as a base color, I added a bit of Peach Smoothie into my crease just to give me a soft transition area. On a crease brush, I took Bitten into my outer crease & worked it into a smoky eye. Then I place Burlesque across my lid & worked that a bit into my crease. Afterwards, I added a bit more Bitten for depth. Then I placed my Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Fireball along my inner corners for the movement with the duochrome flash. I blended out the edges again a bit with Peach Smoothie & added a touch of Shimma Shimma to my browbone. On my lower lashline I smudged a touch of Bitten then topped with Burlesque all the way over to my inner corner where I filled out a bit with Urban Decay Fireball Eyeshadow.

On my brows I’m still using my Urban Decay Naked2 Ultimate Basics Palette along with this angled brow brush. Yes- I use powder eyeshadow on my brows! I also set with this NYX clear brow gel which I’m completely obsessed with but need to find a new tube of! For eyeliner I used my Smashbox Always Sharp 3D Waterproof Kohl Liner in Raven Black along my inner rim & in the tightline. For liquid liner, my Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black is absolutely on its last legs. On my lashes is my go-to for all of 2017- my It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara which I can’t seem to get enough of!

My foundation here is a mix of my It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream & my Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation. For powder I’ve been reaching for my It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder™ with SPF 50+ & then for concealer I’m trying out the Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full-Coverage Concealer. Not sure if this concealer is as good as my Urban Decay Naked Concealer but I’m giving it a fair shot! & my nails are RIGHT here from imPRESS by Kiss!

On my cheekbones & in the C-Shape on my face is my favorite highlight combo of the year! I reviewed this GORGEOUS collab from ittse & Jess from Love for Lacquer here! This is a mix of the shades Goal Digger & Run the World applied on my It Cosmetics ULTA Airbrush Radiance Fan Brush #116. If you love highlighter- this brush is a must!
