What says spring to you? I really get into the “spring spirit” when I break out my pastels- eyeshadow, lipstick, nail polishes, & even hair accessories. To get into the springtime spirit I opted for a hairstyle that is easy with a bit of fun. I’ve had this idea for awhile so I’m excited to share it with you today! I also used my new favorite curling wand from NuMe– check out my thoughts below!
While you can definitely pull this style off with straight hair, I personally prefer it with a bit more texture. My favorite curling wand for that touseled look is the NuMe 32MM Classic Wand. I have very thick, fine hair & this iron really does the trick! The barrel is a 100% tourmaline-infused with ceramic coating & it heats up to 410 degrees F. I actually tend to use the heat-resistant glove included as well since I can get lazy with my curling- especially with wands because it is so easy.
I curl my hair in varying directions too so my hair doesn’t all look the same. Here’s what my hair looks like partially done. To keep my hair protected I used some of the NuMe Argan Oil as well.
I added a bit of wax to get that piece-y look. So into hair wax lately! The one I’m into currently is right here. I then mussed it up a bit with my hands for more va-va-voom.
To create each rosette you need small elastics (I prefer clear ones like these) & a strand of sequins (I got mine in a variety pack here for a great price!). Attach each strand to the elastic by running it through the elastic by half. You don’t need to tie it or anything. Create a small ponytail below your hair so that the starting point won’t show. I like to put it beneath a small poof of hair for a bit of volume but you can also brush it flat to the heat before placing.
Begin braiding the strands into the hair & secure at the base with another elastic. It especially looks good if you’re able to beef up the braid a bit by tugging & loosening.
To create the rose is easy! You want to create a swirl with the braid holding with your fingertips as you go. Pin with bobby pins & tuck them under so they’re hidden from view.
Then you repeat on each side! I love the look of three but if you want a complete updo you could even do 5 or 6. One is also an option in the center! Sequins aren’t quite as easy to remove as ribbon but they aren’t really difficult either. Just take your time so you can reuse them over & over! I love the sequin look because it really catches the light.
If you’re interested in the 32mm NuMe Classic wand– it is actually on sale right now for $19.99 with the code HAPPY5YEARS! I highly recommend it because it doesn’t leave my hair damaged or dull. You can also check out any NuMe set including the Octowands (code:ANNIVSETS ), Silhouette straighteners (code:ANNIVIRONS ), & other magic wands (code:ANNIVMAGIC ) on sale as well!
