I’m super into the whole messy curl trend but it doesn’t come without hardships. My hair is very thick & fine so I have to walk the balance between poodle & flat hair-topia. I’ve found that the best way to set myself up for curls that not only hold but look how I like in the front is by blow drying either the day of or day before for some extra oomph. Today I’m going to be talking about how I did it & the two tools I used- the CHI Dura 1 1/4 inch Titanium Infused Ceramic Curling Iron & the CHI Touch 2 Touch Screen Hair Dryer. Keep reading to check them out!
I want to start out with the absolute coolest blow dryer I’ve not only even owned but ever seen! Do you ever go to use your hot tools in the morning before your coffee & screw them up? I’ve done it multiple times to be honest. & it isn’t fun- especially when I’m a morning grouch. The CHI Touch 2 Touch Screen Hair Dryer has -you guessed it- a touch screen! Not just that but it holds your settings even after you turn it off- a big bonus since the first model didn’t.
This model also emits over 3 times more ions to reduce frizz. I get asked a lot about frizz from you guys so now you have some science! For others who are especially lazy in the morning (hi there soulmates!) you can actually place the back of this hair dryer on a flat surface for hands free drying. Yes please. You’d think with all this new technology this thing would weigh about 20 pounds…but it is actually lighter & more compact than the first model! That’s REALLY light in case you were wondering. It even has a more comfortable grip position! In the box you also get a free CHI Silk Infusion & CHI Iron Guard Thermal Protection Spray.
Here is the actual touchscreen! You can adjust the speed, temperature, & ion control. It just takes a few taps of the finger & you’re all set. If you do a similar style daily or use similar settings this will save you a bit of time in the morning since it will save it for the next use despite being off! It also provides moist heat & keeps a consistent temperature to aid in reducing thermal heat styling damage. Plus…c’mon guys this is an awesome invention! CHI hot tools I’ve had in the past really hold up well which means I already trust them with my hair investments.
Next up is my newest curling iron- the CHI DURA 1 1/4″ Ceramic Spring Curling Iron. I’m a big fan of the size especially- it really works well for medium to long hair which I can’t say for most curling wands. The 1.25 inch barrel gives me larger curls & with a few finger combs I have soft curls to waves. I also love the digital temperature control because obviously CHI has spoiled me now. You have + & – buttons that make it easy to adjust the temperature. This sweet baby heats up to 392°F/200°C which is really hot. It has really even heat too (I assume because of the ceramic?) which is awesome so my curls set throughout.
Have you tried any CHI hair tools? I’d love to hear about them in the comments below! What are your favorites? I am definitely looking into some more!
