I refuse to be the only person that doesn’t own one of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors so a few months ago I snapped up two- because I’m an overachieving beauty hoarder. The Becca brand has really made a name for themselves in the highlighting department & I actually own some of the liquid products as well. Because I have & actually love the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector liquids in a few travel sizes & love them I was feeling pretty confident. In the end I picked up the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors Pressed in Opal & Rose Gold. Check out my thoughts & what they look like on my skin below!
Becca has pretty simplistic packaging on their powders- & that’s fine by me. The grey-toned brown areas have that NARS-esque rubber feel while the ton has a metal detail. Will these get dirty? Yep. Show fingertips? You bet. For some people that might be a real hassle but I’ve had these for a quite awhile & they’re still in great shape even knocking around with my other products. The metal on top is easy to clean which is a bonus.
I wanted to start with the texture here because I don’t have any powders that are quite the same. Both shades have the same texture which is quite soft without being too soft for brushes. A small amount of product goes a really long way & when swatched these can look darn near terrifying in terms of pigmentation. I highly recommend applying this formula very lightly since you can build it up easily. You’ll never go disco ball because it doesn’t have glitter but more of a metallic sheen. I find mine wears pretty well all day but then again I’m dry so take that as you will. When these do begin to fade I don’t find they get splotchy at all & still look how I’d like.
These highlighters are seriously difficult to photograph due to their stunning sheen so bare with me while I try to explain the shades! I actually find the photo above to be the most accurate color-wise while the photos below show the sheen/reflection the best.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal– This shade is a light to medium champagne with golden tones. For my skintone Moonstone is likely the more popular choice but when I swatched them in store I found this was a bit more demure. For some reason it spoke to me? I don’t have anything close to this shade & I love that it isn’t too white, pink, or gold.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold– You case see this is a true rose gold! I love this shade so much but because I’m so fair it really don’t look right used all over the face. I love this as an eyeshadow & as a blush topper. Sometimes I use this as a highlight on my cheeks as well & really blur the line between my highlight & blush. This shade is very unique to my collection.
Here I’m wearing the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal on my cheekbones very lightly so you can see it looking a bit more natural. I also have the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold on my inner corners of my eye look. I reach for this all the time lately as my inner corner pop that isn’t so white or stark! I’ve purchased both of mine from Sephora here.
Have you tried any of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors? I see they have a new Poured version HERE that I’m very intrigued by! What are your favorite highlighters? Do you have any with rose gold tones?
