Has anything hit harder in the lip arena lately than the matte trend? Matte lipsticks are so hard to get right. For my dry lips I have to pay attention to moisture content & something that glides on beautifully. I need something that is beautiful, easy to apply, & won’t make my lips look like the Sahara. Is that too much to ask? Is it really?
PR Sample. Affiliate links.Butter London has solved so many issues for me including not having very many matte lipsticks to recommend to people. Butter London has some of my favorite exterior packaging ever with cute nature touches. You will be able to see close ups of the Butter London Lippy Moisture Matte Lipstick shades below including swatches & lip swatches below!
The packaging on these is super sleek & black. They are plastic with a decent weight. Each shade is angled & contains 4 grams of product. I have 5 shades here & they’re all completely different. I love that because I need lots of options for my spastic lip choices. I’m crazy like that.
From ULTA: Make it matter with Butter London LIPPY Moisture Matte Lipstick, rich colour that glides on with ease. This buildable formula smoothes and moisturizes with vitamin E and triple butter complex for comfortable long-lasting wear.
Swatched left to right we have Butter London Lippy Moisture Matte Lipsticks in Macbeth, Mush, Ruby Murray, Old Blighty, & Abbey Rose. I even swatched them closely so you can see how creamy & blendable they are!
On my lips left to right we have Butter London Lippy Moisture Matte Lipsticks in Abbey Rose, Ruby Murray, Old Blighty, Mush, & Macbeth.
Abbey Rose is a super wearable soft, rosy pink that I’ve found to be a great fallback matte shade. Ruby Murray has this beautiful richness to it as a berry & I think looks flattering on me for colder weather. Old Blighty is a shade I don’t own in my collection very often- a true brick shade. Mush is a creamy peach that almost doubles as a nude for me. Macbeth is a dramatic name & a bright, satin-like coral. These shades are all super creamy & full coverage. They aren’t super matte but the longer you have them on the more they dry down. These all stain my lips as well so even after they fade I have pretty coloring. These are the longest wearing moisturizing matte shades I currently own.
You can purchase the Butter London Lippy Moisture Matte Lipsticks from the ULTA website as well from Butter London themselves. There are currently 12 shades available & I can’t wait to get my hands on a few more like Come to Bed Red, Primrose Hill, & Toff.
