Tis the season to buy gifts! Frankly many of them are for myself but we don’t need to go there, right? Estee Lauder is a brand I tend to play around in when I go to certain stores but like many other similar brands I try to wait for a great deal. When I know a brand will put out an awesome holiday set I try to hold out as long as possible for hope’s sake that something I’ve been eyeing will be included. Without further chatter- here’s what is in this month’s holiday set!
I bought it. Affiliate links. This box is pretty gigantic & so is the case which I don’t mind at all. The packaging looks like a gift- who doesn’t love gifts? I found mine at my local BX but & actually don’t see it listed online anywhere yet…more on that below.
So this case is reallly big for what is inside- expect some serious plastic. Again I don’t mind because I think I might use this case for case products or even jewelry pouches when traveling. It isn’t super fancy but it has the navy & gold touches I expect from Estee Lauder.
This gift contained-
– One medium Estee Lauder palette with 2 blushes & 12 eyeshadows (more details below)
– One small Estee Lauder palette with 3 Pure Color lipglosses (more details below)
– 3 full-sized Estee lauder Pure Color Lipsticks (more details below)
– Full-sized Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara in Extreme Black
– A mini-sized Estee Lauder Pure Color Intense Kajal Eyeliner in Blackest Black
– Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair .24 fl oz sample
– Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme .24 oz sample
– Estee Lauder Gentle Eye Makeup Remover 3.4 fl oz size
This large palette is obviously what drew my eye first with the flashy gold & croc packaging. It feels really sturdy, is easy to clean, & has a nice mirror as well. The eyeshadows are quite purple/taupe leaning which I absolutely love. The blushes are both wearable & look like the slightest satin. I find Estee Lauder blushes to be easy to use & build up- these two are Rebel Rose & Exotic Pink which look lighter in person. I try not to buy full-sized eyeshadows because these palettes are a much better deal! From top row left to right we have Riviera Rose, Ivory Slipper, Sugar Biscuit, Nude Fresco, Wild Sable, Peacock Blue, Iridescent Violet, Sandbar Beige, Tempting Mocha, Lavish Mink, Amethyst Spark, & Wild Truffle. This formula applies best over a primer & need to be built-upon for full color normally.
The smaller palette contains 3 Estee Lauder Pure Color Glosses in Simply Pink, Magnificent Mauve, & Tempting Tearose. You can see in the video above that these glosses are sheer. I’m glad there is an applicator as I can’t see myself dipping my finger in again! I find these shades comfortable to wear & apply. They work well over lipsticks or on their own if you don’t mind the sheerness. Simply Pink leans very coral in my compact & Tempting Tearose leans brown. Applied over lipsticks they can adjust a color slightly. I think I actually like Magnificent Mauve the best- a comfortable amount of shimmer especially for the center of the lip.
Like I said in the video- lipsticks are my main reason for looking at these sets every year. The Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick formula isn’t my favorite but I do quite like it overall- but not anything like the Estee Lauder Pure Envy Sculpting Lipsticks you’ve seen here & here on the blog which I’m pretty obsessed with. From left to right we have Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipsticks in Candy, Rose Tea, & Vanilla Truffle. Now that I have them & have worn them a bit I like the shade Candy a lot more- it looks like kind of a sheer lipstick/gloss hybrid. Rose Tea is beautiful & I think my favorite of the three as Vanilla Truffle is too nude for me to wear alone.
So the thing is…I can’t find this exact set anywhere yet! BUT I have found one that is really close & actually contains a few more things! You can find their Estee Lauder Holiday 2014 set at Macy’s, Dillard’s, & the Estee Lauder website. I’ll try to update this post as I spot things like this becoming available!
Whose holiday sets do you keep an eye out for? Any high-end makeup sets like this? Favorite holiday packaging so far?
