It is December…has it been a shock to anyone else that in less than a month it will be January? Where did the time go? Get Old is an initiative developed by Pfizer to challenge people of all ages to rethink what it means to Get Old and take a more active role in their health and quality of life at every age. I’d like to share with you some of my resolutions this year that I’ve been thinking of which I think is an awesome way to think about changing things up for 2014! Keep reading to check it out!
With a new year well within sight I’m trying to come up with some resolutions and ideas to make my life better overall. I’m trying to really think ahead and come up with things I need to change or improve on, for both my life and my home.
1. Get up & get moving.
I think this is an obvious one right? I spend way too much time behind a computer screen (or applying eye shadow) and need to get a whole lot more active on a regular basis. This really hit home with me this year as we start talking about our next big military move and having a kid someday. I need to not just make this a more active year but every day needs to be more active. I really want to find a routine that works for me and my schedule. We only have one body apparently so I need to get on this!
2. Actively be more positive & less pessimistic.
This is constantly something I’m working on! I’m an admitted worrier- I think a lot about the “what if” which definitely causes some unnecessary stress and also triggers my anxiety. I’ve been looking up some methods on how to take a few moments to take myself out of a negative place and to shock myself into remembering to be more optimistic. I’m hoping these things will really benefit me in the coming year and for many years to come!
3. Take care of my skin, nails, etc. every night, not just when I remember!
I have two types of night routines- the one when I’ve got lots of time/energy and then the sloppy I-want-to-go-to-bed-NOW routine. Yeah I admit it again, I can be lazy. Can you really blame me after a long day? Well even if you won’t I will! I need to take the time to keep my skin and body in check…I only get one after all!
4. Get a menu plan down pat.
There are so many amazing things about cooking at home: the taste, the money you save, the leftovers… Seriously, we love eating at home. I just really need to manage my time better and plan out my meals in a way I can really stick to them week to week! I definitely think setting strict business hours will help and hopefully that will free up some time to make some homemade pasta, wontons, and start having more thought out dinners at home. Plus, it will definitely help us get healthier and feel better. Eating at home always does that for us!
5. Be better prepared business wise!
I’ve been doing so much last minute planning, writing, scheduling, and accounting because I put off so much this year! Honestly I don’t do this with everything but when it comes to my tax information for my business, setting up my filming schedule, and just random things like that. This can’t be good for my skin right? Am I seriously giving myself wrinkles over this? Psh I need to get it together from Day #1 this year!
