NEW Jesse’s Girl Julie G Nail Polish (5 Shades!) Swatches

February 28, 2013 By StephanieLouise 519Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnew-jesses-girl-julie-g-nail-polish-5.htmlNEW+Jesse%27s+Girl+Julie+G+Nail+Polish+%285+Shades%21%29+Swatches2013-02-28+15%3A17%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnew-jesses-girl-julie-g-nail-polish-5-shades-swatches.html

So I was lucky enough to get my hands on 5 new Julie G Nail Polish shades. These are from Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics & I already knew I loved their formula. They know what they’re doing. I really want to get my hands on some specific shades but for now here are 5 of the new colors! I’ll also have some baby shower nail art one of you requested! Stay tuned for swatches!
Shades are with top coat except for A Star is Born & White Orchid. I don’t have a Jesse’s Girl top coat or base so I used one of my many Color Club top coats from numerous sets. I apologize in advance for my cuticles, I need to find a new nail polish remover that isn’t so harsh!

 photo DSCN4483_zps9b51dabf.jpg

Julie G Cabana Boy – A bright blue creme. This has been lightened from the brightness with the cream so it really gives this shade something different. 2 coats. Similar to Sally Hansen Pacific Blue but I much prefer this formula. Easily a favorite.

 photo DSCN4463_zps12e672a1.jpg
 photo DSCN4460_zps4ea6cebb.jpg

Julie G Shoe-A-Holic – Baby pink creme. If you like Zoya Shelby, you’ll really like this. 2 coats.

 photo DSCN4449_zpsb76f4196.jpg

 photo DSCN4447_zpsd107331f.jpg

Julie G Freshly Squeezed – Super sheer yellow/orange looking creme with lots of pink shimmer. This is 3 coats.

 photo DSCN4421_zps3d9f0bd0.jpg

Julie G White Orchid – A nice opaque white. 2 coats.

 photo DSCN4477_zpscde0a57a.jpg
 photo DSCN4466_zps15206e6c.jpg

Julie G A Star is Born – Micro, small, & medium silver hexes in a clear base. This is 2 very thin coats so I could get nice glitter layout. These do lay really flat & this is suspended in a nice, shiny topcoat.

So there you go! I am so excited for these new shades & I really like all of them! Like I said before, you’ll be seeing some in some nail art action soon. I really like Cabana Boy & I think it is definitely a must have. I think White Orchid is going to be an awesome white base, it isn’t drying like so many other whites that make my nails look way ridgey. Freshly Squeezed is perfect for spring, I might need to break out some spring nail art with it. I have a lot of silver glitters, but A Star is Born is a nice combination & leaves a nice shine. Shoe-A-Holic is one I can see being really popular & is a nice girly touch.

These retail for $3.99 & you can find them online on the Jesse’s Girl Website & also at Rite Aid.

There you go! I know since I posted a photo on Instagram you guys have been excited to see this! Which shades are you loving?

Alessandro Nail Polish Nagellack in Caramel Temptation Review & Swatches

February 26, 2013 By StephanieLouise 521Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Falessandro-nail-polish-nagellack-in.htmlAlessandro+Nail+Polish+Nagellack+in+Caramel+Temptation+Review+%26+Swatches2013-02-26+22%3A01%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Falessandro-nail-polish-nagellack-in-caramel-temptation-review-swatches.html

Alessandro is big in Europe so I’m terribly excited to be seeing it begin to pop up in the US. Today I get to show you one of their new shades, Caramel Temptation, but I really hope to show you more in the future! Keep reading to see swatches & a review!

From Alessandro International:
The new patented formula for even more brilliance on nails:

  • Incredible long durability
  • Fast drying
  • No chipping
  • Smooth & streak free application
  • High colour intensiveness due to UV absorber
  • Protects the nails
  • High gloss shine

In order to make the application of nail polish much easier, alessandro International even designed a special nail polish bottle. The alessandro nail polish bottle has a patented Quick Brush guaranteeing easy and perfect application, a wider bottle opening for easy use and a recessed cap grip for a perfect handling. Just perfect!

 photo DSCN4408_zpsb51c9382.jpg

Caramel Temptation- A very rosy based nude with a hidden shimmer that is somewhere between light reflecting white & light gold.

This isn’t my preferred type of neutral, I feel like this would look better on a warmer skintone. I found that his polish applied nicely & I ended up doing 2 coats. It was nicely opaque which is my preference. The wear time on this was good, I got about 4 days without chipping which is super rare. My nails shed polish & all the stuff I blog about eats it. It is inevitable. I found this to dry about average but it is thicker so I suppose it could have been much slower. I’d really like to get my manicured claws on these Crystal Punk polishes I spied on another blog & these gorgeous shimmering Alessandro shades!

What do you think of this shade? I’d love to see what some brighter colors look like! Are you excited to try this for yourself?

Sinful Colors Sugar Rush Collection Swatches & Review

February 21, 2013 By StephanieLouise 531Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fsinful-colors-sugar-rush-collection.htmlSinful+Colors+Sugar+Rush+Collection+Swatches+%26+Review2013-02-21+17%3A36%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fsinful-colors-sugar-rush-collection-swatches-review.html

photo PicMonkeyCollagesfco_zps0581301c.jpgIt has been a very long time since I covered Sinful Colors on this blog. After the big blogger fiasco, I silently bought a few polishes here & there but without much love. I was angry, as a customer & a blogger. Now, going into a new year, I’m going to start covering them here & there. To my knowledge, they have resolved things with the bloggers previously involved. Here’s to a lesson learned I hope. Keep reading to see swatches of each of these lovely shades!

With that, I bring you the Sugar Rush Collection. With lots of hidden shimmers & gorgeous spring ready shades this has me prepped for spring. All of these swatches are without top coat or base.

 photo DSCN4047_zps8a05ae39.jpg

 photo DSCN4041_zps50ad59c2.jpg

Sweet Nothing- Creamy pastel blue with hints of turquoise. 2 coats. A bit thick.

 photo DSCN4074_zps34dab892.jpg
 photo DSCN4069_zpsfb7a35d1.jpg

Unicorn- Pastel yellow cream. Harder to manage & patchy. 4 thin coats. This is the only shade from this display that is actually permanent. It became easily clear that the formula has gotten much better!

 photo DSCN4089_zps1d7b30e7.jpg
 photo DSCN4092_zps114927ba.jpg

Sweet Tooth- Warm pastel lavender with hidden shimmer. Sheer first coat. 3 coats.

 photo DSCN4101_zps916f91a5.jpg

 photo DSCN4108_zpsb908aebb.jpg
Sugar N Spice- Creamy hot pink with hidden shimmer. 2 coats opacity.

 photo DSCN4121_zps579842c7.jpg
 photo DSCN4122_zps09c91b12.jpg

Candy Coated- Pale pastel super blue toned lavender with hidden shimmer, barely visible. Sheer first coat. 3 coats. More purple than in the photos.

 photo DSCN4142_zps7f4c1715.jpg
 photo DSCN4141_zpsd3e029a4.jpg

Sugar Rush- Light pastel blue cream, no shimmer. 2 coats opaque. I’ll need to swatch this with some other similar colors. I know I have something similar but it is absolutely lovely! Color corrected because it is pretty much white with a drop of blue.

 photo DSCN4188_zps1a3ab42a.jpg
 photo DSCN4185_zps60525e28.jpg

Orange Cream- Pastel creamy tangerine orange with hidden shimmer. 1st coat sheer, 3 coats to opaque. Probably one of my very favorites, it is lovely.

 photo DSCN4205_zps48ae7c56.jpg
 photo DSCN4207_zpsc5fb4546.jpg

Cotton Candy- Light cool pink cream with hidden shimmer. 3 coats to opaque.

There you have it! I really hope you’ll stick around & follow to see the collection I am most excited for. The Almost Famous Collection from Sinful Colors is full of glitters & some of them are just terribly awesome. I’ll be showing those to you soon! What do you think of the Sugar Rush swatches? Any shades you’re interested in?

I also wanted to note that with the Walgreens deal going on this week, I snapped all of mine up for $1. Most people are saying you can only get 3 at that price but for some reason…it worked at my Walgreens!

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer in Spoiled Brat & The Queen’s Jewels Swatches & Review

February 19, 2013 By StephanieLouise 533Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fpomegranate-nail-lacquer-in-spoiled.htmlPomegranate+Nail+Lacquer+in+Spoiled+Brat+%26+The+Queen%27s+Jewels+Swatches+%26+Review2013-02-19+16%3A48%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fpomegranate-nail-lacquer-in-spoiled-brat-the-queens-jewels-swatches-review.html

 photo DSCN3871_zps38821087.jpg
I am so excited to be bringing you these swatches today! When I got the press release for Pomegranate’s Royal Fairy Tale Collection, I immediately knew which two shades I wanted. As I browsed through the new shades (all of which are absolutely gorgeous & so want to come home with me!) one very dreary day here, I immediately grasped on to “lime green jelly” & “jewel glitter” in the description. Sold. Keep reading for some seriously happy swatches!

Pomegranate Spoiled Brat- This is a granny smith green creme jelly hybrid. Love. This is 2 even coats but 3 would give a bit brighter appearance. I love the shine & jelly finish with the easier coverage. This shade is different, the base seems a bit more neutral of a green but it has a wicked brightness. Gorgeous.

 photo DSCN3879_zps6f8d5398.jpg
 photo DSCN3874_zps8afa5c73.jpg
 photo DSCN3863_zpsdb2ee1a6.jpg

Pomegranate The Queen’s Jewel- A clear base packed with medium silver hexes & small orange, silver, green, light blue, brilliant purple, & red glitters. There’s also another layer of even smaller hexes ( I call them micro hexes) in red, green, & light blue. I thought this was going to be more jewel toned ( a bit darker in shades) but I love it none the less. Seen here is 2 coats over Pomegranate Spoiled Brat.

 photo DSCN3862_zps7ffbdb95.jpg

I absolutely love both of these polishes & instantly smile when I see them. Spoiled Brat has be 100% ready for spring time, sunshine, & new grass. The Queen’s Jewels? Hello, it is a multi-colored glitter. If you aren’t a frequent reader…it is a need to own all the glitters. ever. & this one has a lovely mix with interesting sizes that translates well on the nail. I’m happy with the wear time as well & this polish holds together beautifully.

You can find Pomegranate Nail Lacquers by visiting their site & I urge you to check out more of these new shades. I’m seriously lusting after Damsel & Storm the Castle as well! Are you loving these shades? What polishes are you craving from the Royal Fairy Tale Collection?

Nails: China Glaze Strawberry Fields Swatches & Review

February 13, 2013 By StephanieLouise 541Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnails-china-glaze-strawberry-fields.htmlNails%3A+China+Glaze+Strawberry+Fields+Swatches+%26+Review2013-02-13+17%3A47%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnails-china-glaze-strawberry-fields-swatches-review.html

 photo DSCN3112_zpse0a82bd0.jpg

Let’s talk about favorite polishes shall we? I wait until Valentine’s week every year (until I see sunshine & love is in the air) to break out China Glaze Strawberry Fields. This is one of the China Glaze core polishes which is a good thing…this is my 2nd bottle. When you have a stash like mine & buy a 2nd bottle of something you know it is a big deal.

 photo DSCN3106_zpsa1bf8bc2.jpg
 photo DSCN3113_zps75808c7b.jpg

 photo DSCN3110_zps2a202a2b.jpg
China Glaze Strawberry Fields– A slightly hot medium warm pink jelly with golden glass flecks. 2 coats, no base or topcoat.

I would be most upset if this wasn’t part of the core line because this polish simply makes me entirely too happy. Every year I know it is Strawberry Fields time about this time in February. With nail art or by itself this is a stunning jelly packed to the brim with shimmer. It has a lit from within look that is absolutely stunning. There isn’t anything about this polish I don’t absolutely love.

Do you own Strawberry fields? What will you be wearing on your nails tomorrow? Any other shades from the China Glaze core line you consider must haves?

Wet n Wild Flora & Fauna Overview & Swatches

February 13, 2013 By StephanieLouise 5434 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fwet-n-wild-flora-fauna-overview.htmlWet+n+Wild+Flora+%26+Fauna+Overview+%26+Swatches2013-02-13+15%3A06%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fwet-n-wild-flora-fauna-overview-swatches.html

I know this has been all over the blogosphere so I won’t go into too much detail. I picked mine up at Walgreens as I don’t live anywhere near a Rite Aid. As the packaging says, these are only $4.99. These are limited edition from Wet n Wild although a few items can be purchased from their displays. All of these were taken with artificial lighting. I wanted to show each item next to each other because if you just want one collection I figure this will make it easier to compare.
Let’s start with the 2 WnW Fast Dry Nail Colors as I was terribly excited for these. On the left is a brand new polish called Twining Vines. This appears to be a fierce green foil! On the right is Teal or no Teal which is part of the regular line.
Next are the two new trios. From left to right the trios are called Fauna & Flora.
Fauna has all shimmers including a champagne, blue that looks teal in certain lights, & purple that leans a bit lavender. I love these shades & although the purple isn’t as pigments I think I could easily apply it with more of a packing motion to achieve the color in the palette.
Flora has what appears to be a matte tangerine/orange, a medium shimmering green, & a lime/grass green packed with shimmer. Super creamy & pigmented.
Wet n Wild has had some form of tube gloss since I can remember…I think… These are Wet n Wild Glassy Gloss Lip Glasses in Mow the Glass & Glass Confusion.
Left to right are swatches of Glass Confusion & Mow the Glass.
I love Wet n Wild blushes so I was happy to have these smaller sizes.
Left to right: Fauna came with Pearlesant Pink & Flora came with Mellow Wine.
So what do you think of these collections? Has Wet n Wild wowed you? I’m glad I picked both of these up, especially for the price! Which set are you most interested in?

Nails: Revlon Girly Swatches & Review

February 12, 2013 By StephanieLouise 545Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnails-revlon-girl-swatches-review.htmlNails%3A+Revlon+Girly+Swatches+%26+Review2013-02-12+14%3A45%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnails-revlon-girly-swatches-review.html

 photo DSCN1896_zpse66e0aea.jpg

I found Girly & Heavenly (my favorite of the two, swatches here) before a lot of people but I only got around to trying girly as a full manicure recently. My nails are stained currently (helllllo green!) so I opted for a white base. This is a very thin milky glitter & I honestly couldn’t get it to look quite right so this might be a reswatch later on.

 photo DSCN1884_zpsac365667.jpg

 photo DSCN1887_zps7f3bc75e.jpg photo DSCN1877_zpsa4865c9f.jpg photo DSCN1876_zps30ba05be.jpg photo DSCN1870_zps9e49253d.jpg
Revlon Girly- A pink/lilac milky base packed with light pink, lavender, & fuchsia medium hexes along with pink, lavender, & lightly holo small hexes.

I totally regret using the white base, I think it would have looked way better without. Even with a base, I should’ve gone with a pink or lavender. I love the polishes from Revlon, especially lately. This doesn’t look like a drugstore polish but looks more like an original indie. I love drugstore polish, this just isn’t something you see often.

Have you picked up this polish? Do you like milky polishes? Love it or leave it?

Nails: Mineral Fusion Nail Polish in Sizzle Swatches & Review

February 12, 2013 By StephanieLouise 546Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnails-mineral-fusion-nail-polish-in.htmlNails%3A+Mineral+Fusion+Nail+Polish+in+Sizzle+Swatches+%26+Review2013-02-12+00%3A05%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnails-mineral-fusion-nail-polish-in-sizzle-swatches-review.html

 photo DSCN3105_zps9281b25a.jpg

Every time I stumble upon a new nail polish brand I get excited. Something new! Mineral Fusion may be new to my stash but they have been around since 2007 & make a whole lot more than nail polish. With a full cosmetic line, body care, hair items, & skincare I’m surprised I haven’t tried anything before.

 photo DSCN3096_zps85e1faf3.jpg

 photo DSCN3093_zpscbc7e367.jpg

Mineral Fusion in Sizzle: A very pink raspberry toned shimmering red. Nearly metallic in some lights. 2 coats. No base or topcoat.

This is a really different bottle & completely unique to my collection. The bottle base is slightly oval & then it gets thinner to the top of the lid. The lid is a long oval shape & is a light chocolate-y brown. Sturdy bottle. The brush fans a bit at the bottom & is a bit fluffy. It provides decent application. I like this color quite a bit as well.

From Mineral Fusion: Long lasting, chip-resistant formula. Formaldehyde, toluene, camphor and dibutyl phthalate free. Custom, extra thick brush for flawless application

When looking for a nail polish…I don’t often think of Whole Foods. Do you? Well that is one place you will be able to find the Mineral Fusion Nail Polish line! You can also buy them online from Mineral Fusion directly but since I so rarely send you guys to Whole Foods for nail polish, I definitely needed to point that out!

What do you think? Have you tried Mineral Fusion nail colors? Are you rocking a red for Valentine’s Day?

Nails: OPI Wocka Wocka! Swatches & Review

February 9, 2013 By StephanieLouise 549Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnails-opi-wocka-wocka-sawtches-review.htmlNails%3A+OPI+Wocka+Wocka%21+Swatches+%26+Review2013-02-09+16%3A42%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnails-opi-wocka-wocka-swatches-review.html

There are very few shimmery reds that I used outside of November but OPI’s Wocka Wocka! is one I find appropriate for the upcoming holiday. Although I normally throw down pink or purple nails for Valentine’s Day but sometimes a good red is absolute perfection. Keep reading for a few photos & find out how you can get OPI polishes & other beauty items for a great discount!

 photo DSCN3118_zps058bb5b2.jpg

 photo DSCN3126_zpse50ba5f6.jpg
OPI Wocka Wocka! : A shimmery blue based red. The flash I notice most is pink with a note of gold. 2 coats opacity.

I was lucky enough to receive this polish to try from Cut & Blow, a hair & beauty private sales site. They carry loads of brands you’re familiar with & that are featured here on the site (OPI, China Glaze, Pureology, Clarisonic, & more) along with some brands I’d be happy to try out or have had my eye on. All you need to do to have access to deals is sign up much like other deal sites. For instance, the entire OPI Germany Collection is only $5.50 per polish. Sweet!

**This polish was sent for consideration. Affiliate links have been used.
