Awhile back I was playing with the Zoya Paradise Sun Collection that I swatched & reviewed here. I was trying to decide what kind of nail art I was going to do first & settled on a water marble. There’s this new waterless technique (well new as in I didn’t know about it until the past year…) that I’ve been really liking so I figured I’d give it a go. Keep reading to check it out!
To create these “decals” all you need as a tool (toothpick, dotter, pen tip, whatever) & a small plastic cup. You should also use bottled or room temperature water but the opinions on water greatly differ so I advise trying different types until you get your desired effect. I use the smallest Dixie cups (I bought mine here because we couldn’t find them locally) & a flat surface that won’t be disrupted overnight. Create your watermarble in the cups the traditional way then don’t dip your finger in to apply. You let them dry overnight! In the morning you remove it (I use tweezers) then using small scissors I cut them to kind of fit each finger with some overhang. I apply a top coat to my nails then place the decals on & clean up around my nails. Boom. Keep in mind I’m still new to this method- thus not as clean as I would have hoped this go!
When I was done I looked down at my work & thought “huh, that could be kind of fall too?” for some reason. & that’s how this post was born. Maybe it is just me? As I was looking at the colors I thought that it could be for either season though so I figured “Summer into Fall” was appropriate?
So what is your favorite way to water marble that you find easy? Ever tried making your own decals? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
