This whole moving thing is for the birds. I’ve been totally drained & my anxiety is sky-high. You’d think I’d be better at moving after being married to someone in the military for so long? Well apparently being stationed here for four years straight really spoiled us! A military move is really involved- you have to go to classes, organize through about 100 different channels, & then sit around until everything somehow concludes itself. Seeing as I suffer from both high anxiety & OCD, I’m totally losing it! Tazeka Aromatherapy oils wandered into my life at exactly the right time- & today I’m sharing how Peaceful Slumber, Meditation Guru, & Nonstop Thoughts have been helping to keep me semi-sane.
Each Tazeka blend contains 100% organic, unsprayed, or wild-crafted pure essential oils, pure organic jojoba wax, and natural tocopherols. (That means vitamin E. It’s a great natural preservative—both for your skin and for our blends!) We use only the highest-quality, ethically-farmed and harvested ingredients, sourced from farmers and distillers we trust. We don’t want any synthetic additives coming between you and the power of the plants, and we stand by the integrity of our products.
Each Tazeka blend comes with it’s own simple set of instructions but all of the oils are designed to be rolled right onto your skin—this means your pulse points, wrists, neck, temples, chest, inner elbows, the backs of your knees, and your ankles. I use each one a bit differently myself so I’ll go into that a bit more as I break down each mix.
This deeply restorative blend calms your body and soothes your spirit so you can rest better at night, and move with more peace and poise during the day. Citrusy Bergamot is a sedative and tonic essential oil, and its effects are enhanced when combined with sweet, woody sandalwood. Together, they gently balance and relax your body’s systems to support natural healing during sleep.
I am so into this blend to help you sleep! Many sleepy blends are super floral & can actually give me a bit of a headache so this was a breath of fresh air…literally. The combination in Peaceful Slumber is cedar, neroli, lavender, & I also pick up sandalwood. You can view the full list of ingredients here but I wanted to go off the main notes I react to! I find the woody additions so calming & really soothing. This pretty blue bottle lives on my nightstand & I usually apply to my temples. As the night goes on & I roll around it makes my pillowcase smell lovely!
We channeled centuries of spiritualists from Ancient Egypt, Israel, Rome, Greece, and the world over to ask about the best essential oils for meditation. They told us the answer lies within. So we opened our third eyes and created a sweet, resinous, woody blend of frankincense and sandalwood. Frankincense has been used for ages to encourage serenity, center the mind, and expand awareness, while sandalwood reassures your spirit and eases anxiety. Meditation Guru is a deeply supportive blend that integrates your spirit with your senses.
While I actually dig yoga & all that jazz, I haven’t practiced it in years. Usually my me-time is spent painting my nails, doing a facial, or actually stretching out my body. I’ve been applying Meditation Guru before I stretch out at night- I took years of dance & cheer so this helps relax my body & mind. The notes I pick up most here are frankincense, myrrh, & ylang ylang (all ingredients here!) & it is stronger than my other blends a bit I think. That or I’m more sensitive to it- I do find myself more sensitive to frankincense so this wouldn’t be a surprise. I usually apply this in the crooks of my elbows & knees as well as on my chest very lightly.
Are you a perfectionist? A work-a-holic? A go getter that doesn’t know how to slow down? Your brain doesn’t come with an “off” switch. But you can roll on Nonstop Thoughts to power down and get a little perspective. This blend is designed to calm and tone your mental muscles. Cardamom and myrrh essential oils support your intellect, clearing out stagnant energy and circuitous thoughts. Nonstop Thoughts is especially helpful in “hamster wheel” situations—when you can’t stop running to get ahead…but in fact you’re just spinning your wheels and not experiencing real growth.
This won’t come to anyone as a shock- I site in front of a computer screen & type for a living. I mean- I also take photos, create things, etc. but a lot of my time is spent bridging ideas to make them come to life. I really pick up the cardamom, Hawaiian sandalwood, & citrus notes here (view all of them here because there’s more!) & it is a lovely mix. Nonstop Thoughts goes right on my wrists & I tend to reach for it when I am having a heavy case of writer’s block & I think the citrus notes help rev me up again after being frustrated!
You can purchase Tazeka Aromatherapy oils from their website here. I really want to try Confidence, Concentrate, PMS Rescue, & Aphrodite next!
