Even in the depth of summer, my skin still tends to lean combo/dry. This can definitely be a problem. Skincare can be a difficult concoction- you want to get it just right! I think this collection of Paula’s Choice nailed it in terms of balance & I’ve worked these select items into my current skincare routine. Keep reading to check out my must-haves!
The Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Softening Cream Cleanser is an instant favorite- it reminds me of the texture of many high-end options! A creamy cleanser is essential for me because it won’t strip my skin & helps to retain hydration. This is perfect for sensitive skin as well with non-irritating ingredients, no added dyes, & it is also 100% fragrance free. This actually worked great with my eczema as well! I use this as a facial cleanser along with a makeup remover as step one in my skincare routine.
After toning in the morning I break out the Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum which is formulated with retinol. Again this is meant for normal to dry skin & promises to be non-irritating. It is a very thin serum that applies clear to the skin in a light layer before using moisturizer. Please keep in mind that retinol is something you often need to build up to but it really does make my skin look nice. I alternate this every other day with a non-retinol based serum for great results that work well for my particular skin.
At night I’ve been following up my cleansing & toner with the Paula’s Choice Resist Daily Smoothing Treatmeant with 5% AHA. This can actually be used during the day as well but because I worry about my skin being more sensitive to the sun, I stick to using it at night because of the acids. I advise you to try your own methods or consult with Paula’s Choice since they specialize in helping you get the perfect skincare routine. If you choose to use it during the day try to keep out of the sun & definitely use a great SPF afterwards! The benefits include reducing signs of aging, building up skin-firming collagen, & correcting uneven skintone. Making my skin look more even happens to my my #1 reason for loving AHAs for my skin! This applies in a very thin layer that doesn’t disrupt my moisturizer which I appreciate!
Last up is less of a skincare item & more of a summer must-have! The Paula’s Choice Sun Kissed Custom Color Bronzer is a duo containing two matte shades. This bronzer is for fair to medium skintones so it is right up my alley! These shades aren’t orange on my downright pale skin which is a huge relief! These are perfect with a big, fluffy brush for an all over bronzer or with a more precise hand for contouring.
