I was really on a mission this year not to buy TOO much at IMATS LA for 2015. We know we’re moving in about 6 months (squeeee) so I’m both trying to save money & also purging a ton in my office. But could I go & not buy anything? Don’t be crazy. I picked up a few other items but I thought I’d just show the 4 palettes I purchased quickly. Full reviews will be swinging your way in the future but enjoy the sneak peek for now!
Let me start out with the palette I’ve been dreaming of creating for years &…years. That’s a long time for me to hold off on something! I’ve been wanting to invest in some INGLOT eyeshadows for a really long time…but when they came out with the Rainbow Freedom System I knew that was right up my alley. Each pan contains 3 complementary shades & they have varying finishes as well. I picked up the palette as well but I might pick up single pans next time for a Z-Palette.
My shades I chose from left to right above are INGLOT Rainbow System Eyeshadows in 107r, 108r, 109r, 115r, & 135r. & they’re gorgeous. I had some issues with the girl working the booth who couldn’t give me the correct change several times but I lived.
The Saucebox Cosmetics Temptation Palette wasn’t on my list…but I loved it when I saw it in person! I really wanted the stunning Forbidden Fruits Palette but it was completely sold out! Boo. I also really love the look of the Etude Palette so maybe I will be able to get my hands on it someday! Isn’t all of their packaging cute?
Inside the Temptation Palette we have 4 shades- each can also be pulled out in pan form. The beautiful detailing is also inside. Normally I prefer a clean mirror but this is quite cute.
Inside we have 4 ultra-pigmented shades. One is matte, two shimmers, & one glitter. So gorgeous. I can’t wait to play with this! The booth was gorgeous & they were really helpful! They actually let me know that they’re reformulating their eyeshadow singles & packaging & I really hope I can get my hands on some!
BH Cosmetics is super affordable but I don’t own a ton from them. I bought some items from them last year that I really loved so my mom & I were excited to hit up their booth again. I picked up the Wild at Heart Palette & my mom picked up Wild and Free Palette. The packaging is again, really cute, & it includes a mirror inside.
For some reason this collection of baked shades really appealed to me. Pinky shades are hard to love for me sometimes but these seemed really pretty so I took a chance. I love that orchid shade in the back & the taupe in the front! Pretty right? I’m interested to see how I like this formula because there are quite a few other BH Cosemtics items I’d like to try.
The biggest surprise for me that I picked up was this jumbo palette from Senna Cosmetics called the The Envelope Brites…but I am super confused by it. I actually really like this palette but I have no idea how to recommend it to you since the palette looks totally different online. Like completely different. When I review this palette I’ll have to go through & tell you what each shade is individually since I got a printout with it. Not sure why it is this way…but there ya go.
I actually bought this palette specifically for a few colors. I walked up to the Senna booth & fell in love with this purple eyeshadow with copper/bronze glitter in it. The other shade that mainly caught my eye is right next to it- a blackened shade with blue shimmer. The girl told me each shade was $12 on its own but the whole palette it came with was on sale for $50. I loved a few of the other shades as well so I splurged. I will say I had some issues with the girl working the booth though- when people grab my hand & put things on it without permission? Yeah I really hate that. She also pointed something out about my skin color…which I’ll talk about below.
On one side we have 16 eyeshadow singles in varying finishes. Really pretty shade selection & a lot of these will be gorgeous for spring too.
& on the other side we have quite a few blushes & other face products. Both of the large shades are supposed to be setting powders but clearly that won’t work for me. As the girl working the booth explained that…things got kind of rude. She looked at me sympathetically & said,”Oh well I guess that would be a bronzer for you huh? Yeah….” & my mom just widened her eyes to dinner plates. I’m fair…not diseased! I literally just wanted to buy my palette & get out of there. Normally I’d just walk away from the booth altogether but I figured I’d give the brand itself the benefit of the doubt. For now.
So what do you think of the palettes I picked up? Anything catch your eye? Which palette would you like to see reviewed first?
