Books, face masks, & chocolate. That right there is the magic trio! Chocolate is an obvious one right? I usually opt to sip on coffee mixed with chocolate creamer or chocolate soy milk. That’s my preference. I think then I can drink at my own pace & really enjoy it. Sometimes food just doesn’t sound good you know?

Books are another easy option- it just depends if I’m in a visual or audio mood. I tend to use my Kindle so I keep a variety on hand. Sometimes I can’t stand to stare at the lit screen…so I go for an audio book. Other times I need the quiet so I go for a traditional bound book or a Kindle edition. Either way it helps me forget my body hates me and gives me something more fun to focus on…usually involving vampires or hauntings. I’m pretty predictable.

Last is a face mask. I’m big into masks- I even started my #MaskWednesday on Instagram since that is when I tend to take some to do a facial pick-me-up during the week. One of my favorites during my TotM is very simple- lemon juice & honey. I usually use about one teaspoon of each, more or less depending on the honey density. The honey automatically makes you skin feel smoother and because my skin is combo/dry that’s important. The lemon helps lighten dark spots and exfoliates a bit. Sometimes I add in a pinch of sugar (if my skin isn’t feeling sensitive) to give a bit of a scrub upon removal. This mask is seriously so easy and I don’t find the smell offensive every when my senses are in hyper drive…does anyone else get like that?
