I was really surprised when checking in on the ULTA site because I know I saw the Laura Geller Baked Stackable Macaroons Set come out sometime last year! I did a bit of searching & indeed- it looks like it came out for Holiday 2013 but is now on the ULTA site. I’m not sure if I missed it or if it made a comeback but I was keen to check them out for myself! Keep reading to see all nine shades- 3 for eyes, 3 for cheeks, & 3 highlight shades!
From ULTA: A delightful assortment of Baked confections awaits! Swirls of liquid pigments are baked on terracotta pans for 24 hours and finished by hand to create three complementary NEW shades each of blush, highlighter and eyeshadow in soft washes of silky, long-wearing color. Inspired by luxurious, light-as-air sweets, these gorgeous goodies are perfect for creating unlimited looks for the face and eyes.
I was honestly hesitant to buy this set because I didn’t see people leaning one way or another in the reviewer section. They seriously love or hate it which, although likely completely true, is confusing as a customer. I don’t know how long this set will be availible but I figured for everyone else out there considering purchasing this post would be helpful to decide if it for you or not. I’m personally pretty familiar with Laura Geller baked products- some contain glitter, some glow, & some are nearly metallic. You won’t find matte in this collection so I won’t even go there on this one!
I think the packaging is adorable- a sweet macaroon inspired gift box with a trio of boxes topped with a macaroon containing your shades. It is simple & clean so it isn’t too young or mature feeling but somewhere in-between. Each shade comes in a nice sized compact housing1.8 grams of products each- which will last you ages since it is baked. I have a few eyeshadows & these are the same- half the top is clear plastic & the other half is an interior mirror.
All swatches are foiled on bare skin. Applied dry they’re softer & not as pigmented but I wanted to show what you can get at full pigmentation. Possibilities are endless really because these are baked- your shades might lean a bit more one way or another. The only shade I really take issue with dry I’ll address below.
Aren’t these swirled shades beautiful? Honey Lavender has the most gorgeous swirls of lavender throughout it. Toasted Coconut is an amazing beige, so easy to wear & the perfect highlighter for all over the face & eyes. Dulce de Leche is also beige but more brown toned & deeper. I have to have a careful hand with this one on the cheeks but I love it on the eyes!

I think this is my favorite trio & the most expected! Gingerbread is a surprise hit- in the pan it was hard for me to see how it would look on my cheeks but the copper-y shade is lovely! Lychee Rose is an amazing coral pink- really stunning. Cassis Violet is a beautiful plummy violet with a sheen & smoothness that applies perfectly.

I honestly think these could have been bronzers & been a trio of face products but since they can be used all over the face I think of them as multi-purpose. Orange Blossom is the messiest of the bunch- the gold flecks looked like this before I even touched it. I have a really hard time applying this dry though so I recommend using it wet to avoid lots of fallout. Mocha Latte is more of a red based brown & applies well wet or dry. Very even in texture. Chestnut could have been in the highlighter category for me actually & it’s a very light taupe-y beige. This one also applies well & is definitely a multi-tasker shade.

I think this set of nine is an excellent value- this is set is also available online only for $49. Laura Geller baked products (& usually any baked products) take a nice, long time to get through. They also have the benefit of being used wet or dry. All of the shades are beautiful most have multiple uses as well. If you’re interested & know that these are all going to contain shimmer then I recommend checking it out for yourself while it is still available.
