One of the most depressing things about having a spouse in the military is never really feeling like your house is “yours”. I actually quite like our house but soon enough we will be off to a new base with a whole new floorplan & location. One important thing I’ve learned over the years is to buy things that make your space enjoyable but moveable if need be. Kleenex has a bunch of new styles- you to make this easy- keep reading to see them in action around our house!
One of my favorite hobbies is cooking & we’ve recently converted some bookshelves into nooks for all my odds & ends. Here are a few of my antique & modern plates displayed- they’re really pretty & I feel special every time I use one! Speaking of well-loved antiques- check out my gorgeous but ancient Betty Crocker Cookbook! This has been passed down multiple generations in my family & I absolutely adore it. Inside you’ll find how to greet your husband when he comes home (no really!), how to properly set a table, & how to be a good hostess. Okay…so maybe I’ll just look at the recipes & pictures? Notice my pretty but neutral Kleenex box kept in the front, I’m constantly worried about germs or dust so they live here happily.
Our downstairs bathroom is a half bath & extremely dark. The new Kleenex Cool Touch style is super cool- blue & metallic. I set up the bathroom with a lot of my childhood shells & such. Growing up in Hunting Beach, California I had my room done in ocean-type stuff pretty much up until adulthood. I love having my items in this small space because I think it helps brighten up the bathroom & it tends to be a conversation starter when we have company. This blue box totally fits the ocean/beach theme- & the Kleenex inside are cooling. When I’m sick I tend to stay downstairs more & these are super refreshing!
Although we have Kleenex spread throughout the house I wanted to show you one of my favorite areas in my living room- I call it the eclectic corner. The picture was painted by my grandmother Gloria. She’s a fantastic artist & I have multiple projects throughout my house from her. I used to summer with my grandparents in Colorado so this painting both reminds me of family & looks calming. The shelf holds random odds & ends…in rainbow bins! I’m big on patterns, I love to mix & match them! Our house can look quite dark so this helps to brighten it up! I love this pattern from Kleenex– simple pattern but it easily goes with the others for a playful vibe. Exactly what I like in our living space!
I’m really happy with the new designs- very modern which is what I tend to go for! They have TONS of options though- from rainbow to floral to knit to watercolors! You can check out the new Kleenex styles here– because everyone needs some!
