I love a great set of brushes…especially if they are in some shade of purple.I’ve been buying Crown Brush products for years after first seeing them at IMATS LA a few years ago. I always hit their booth since they have a crazy huge variety & very reasonable prices. Even my mom has picked up some brushes & she is a brush minimalist! I also use their brush cleaner which smells a bit like lemon cakes. When iFabbo gave me the opportunity to try & then review the Crown Brush HD Cosmetic Brush Set with Mirror & Tweezer I jumped at it & am now ready to share!
First let me tell you what this set contains: a set of tweezers, Detail Liner, Chisel Shadow, Crease Blender, Deluxe Contour, Tapered Blush, and Pro Powder & a zip around case which has a mirror. My set is purple with purple tips but there is also an orange set & a blue one both of which have coordinating colored tips. Cute.
These brushes are all vegan friendly, and can be used to apply liquids, creams, and powders. They are all also made with high grade synthetic fiber & after washing each of them at least twice I haven’t had any issues with shedding or the color on the brush tips fading or staining. The tweezers are actually pretty nice quality, perfect for applying lashes when traveling.
The Detail Liner Brush just isn’t my cup of tea. I find it small for eyeshadow but too big for gel or actual eyeliner. I’m actually trying to figure this one out still since I line thinner eyeliner personally. I’m wondering if it will make a nice lip brush? It is soft but firm & flares a bit at the end while most of my liners come to a more narrow point. The Crease Blender Brush is a nice size & softness, perfect for blending the crease shade. I’ve actually been using this almost daily, it really has a nice shape for my small eyes. The Chisel Shadow Brush has a similar story, nice softness & size. I’ve been using this more to apply & lightly fan out cream shadows.
For face brushes, the Deluxe Contour just barely made the cut. I couldn’t decide if it was more of an eye brush (which I have loads of) or meant for face. I decided face. I used it to apply a matte contour to my hollows & it worked quite nicely. Very soft & easy to add color as needed. The Tapered Blush Brush is a surprise because it is quite dense which means it can really load on the product! I think I would be able to use this for foundation in a pinch too. The Pro Powder Brush wasn’t a love match for me unfortunately. When I do wear powder I need a way bigger & fluffier (less full) brush. I did use this to apply a bit of bronzer to my outter hairline though & I think you could also swing a highlighter.
While this set isn’t a slam dunk for me personally, there are some awesome brushes here. I think this would be a really nice gift too, it even comes in a case so they’ve done most of the work! You can purchase this set from Crown Brush here.
