When I was swatching & testing out the KBShimmer Nauti by Nature Collection (see swatches & review here btw!) …I fell into a deep obsession with “The Girl is Tiki” specifically. It looks different on different skintones from what I’ve noticed but on me it is just the most spectacular holographic coral!!! & when I think of coral…I think of summer. & when I think of summer… you see where I’m going with this right? One day when I put this shade on I decided to throw down a pineapple for each hand as well & this post was born!
SHADES USED:
The holographic coral base shade is KBShimmer The Girl is Tiki
The holographic yellow shade used for the pineapple is KBShimmer Copa-Banana
The holographic green shade used as the pineapple leaves is KBShimmer Keep Palm & Carry On
The top coat used here is KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat
The black is an old nail art polish with no name! (see more swatches & review of these shades in my post here!)
Creating freehand decals is so much easier than actually freehanding straight onto the nail for me. My nails are super curved & although I frequently freehand with ease…decals are often more fun for me. Many people use stampers only for decals…but why not try freehand & get practice too? I personally use a silicone mat (like this one which is less that $4 on Amazon!) but if you prefer more nail art details & guides this one also from Amazon is pretty rad. Either way- same method. I throw down a little base coat to dry. Then I do my art. Then I add top coat! I let it dry fully then pick it up & place it on my tacky nail with tweezers. I just use a touch more of a thin top coat to adhere them. That’s it!
Be sure to keep up with Christy at KBShimmer to see when this duo goes live here: KBShimmer site, Instagram, Twitter, & Facebook. You can purchase this collection directly on Amazon as well!
Ever made your own decals? Have I tempted you yet? What nail art do you look forward to for summer especially?
