I had to break up my Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter collection into 3 parts & today I will be bringing you the pinks! Since this is the first post I’ll also delve into the texture & packaging. Pinks are normally the colors I am asked most about when it comes to the Lip Butter range so it was a natural place to start!
Packaging:
These come in a more cheery version of the Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks which have black quilted packaging. These have a window on top to see the shade, cute names with coordinating colored stickers on the base, & coordinating tubes these are wonderfully easy to differentiate. I can easily grab whichever shade I’m looking on without having to dig around reading names or opening up lots of tubes. These have silver packaging around the product itself & twist up easily for use. They are an average square shape overall & aren’t awkward to store. Plus, they’re just plain cute.
You can see in the swatches that these have a lovely pigment & in the other photo you can see the moisture from the light hitting them. This translates onto the lips to make them look fuller & more moisture rich. You’ll see I say below a few shades are more opaque but this is with a few swipes. It just means you can build up a nice opaque shade.
Sugar Frosting- This is the sheerest of the pinks & you can barely see the pink as a base. What you DO see is an awesome ultra-fine super light pink shimmer. I like this alone & also over another shade to punch it up or rehydrate my lips.
Strawberry Shortcake- The perfect light, wearable pink. This is very cool & doesn’t have the brightness that the Sweet Tart shade has.
Sweet Tart- A bright light pink. Lovely & not so bright that it isn’t an easy to wear pink.
Pink Truffle- This is an awesome blend of pink & nude…it is almost an even mix! No shimmer, gorgeous. I love this as a neutral shade & if it didn’t have “Pink” in the name, I likely would have put this in with my nudes! One of the more opaque shades.
Lollipop- A bright medium fuschia with blue/purple shimmer. I love this shade & wear it often year round. One of the more opaque shades. I get lots of compliments on this color. The shimmer isn’t really visible on the lips but you can see it under the lighted swatches.
Overall:
I am definitely a Lip Butter fanatic. Although some feel they are over hyped or just don’t work well, these are definitely must have products for me. The texture, wear, color selection, packaging, & wide availability come together to make this product easily one of my favorites. I have 1-3 of these on me at any given time. They go on soft & work well on my sometimes dry lips. I find them to be just moisturizing enough to be a bit more than a moisture rich lipstick. These also last nicely on me & don’t wear off unevenly.
The pink shades especially are top notch & I feel like they are all different enough to own. Clearly, there are more options in the store but I find any of these 5 work well in any “I need a pink!” instance. The Lip Butters themselves are usually pigmented enough to wear alone but the variety of shades is what makes these unique. For instance, Sugar Frosting is super sheer & just leaves a hint of pink sheen/shimmer which looks great alone or over any shade I might be wearing. Lollipop I often wear on its own. I have a nice variety of neutral to light to bright pinks here.
These feel like balms, look like a balm/lipstick hybrid, & just look great. I love them. What are some of your favorite pink Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter shades?
Stay tuned for the rest of the shades tomorrow & Thursday! Friday you’ll be seeing my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains…highly requested!
