Pixi is one of those brands I recommend to everyone. You can pick it up at Target, it is affordable, & it tends to perform like something you’d buy at a high-end store. From the cute but functional packaging to innovative products most people can afford, Pixi tends to really impress me. Check out some new-to-me products from Pixi including the nail polish shade Gilded Garnet, Correction Concealer in Brightening Peach, & more! [Read more…]
What are you up to this year for New Year’s Eve? Normally we celebrate in a pretty laid back way- but of course I like my makeup to look FIERCE!
When I think of NYE, I always want to bring out my best features. You’re probably thinking, “Stephanie, shouldn’t that be all the time?” & okay you might have a point. What I mean is that NYE tends to be the closest I get to “clubbing” since we’re such lame 20-somethings. I love the lighting & the glitz- much of which tends to reflect highlighter like the best spotlight ever. Using some items from the Mirabella Beauty Faerie Holiday Collection, I’m going to demo how to really get your glow on & especially make blue eyes pop- because that’s what I love to do.
Today I wanted to take a break from holiday posts just for a moment to bring in a post I’ve had waiting in the wings since before I even cut my hair. I took these photos when I realized I was using some of my favorite products in my collection & realized this would probably be helpful to share. My collection is pretty vast so the go-to items are really important to me. & some have been around for ages. I just love favorites don’t you?
Have you ever picked up a lipstick & thought “I could wear this with everything…”? It is rare for me. I really do switch out lip colors seasonally & quite often so it is a pretty big deal. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile now then you likely know I grew up raiding my mother’s Lancome stash. It was a pretty big deal. Although I know for a fact I’ve been using this lipstick for 5 years at a minimum…it is likely more like 10. I think it was 3-5 years ago that my mom & I randomly started a conversation talking about our favorite purse lipstick…& it was the same one. The one I’m wearing above is Lancome Color Design Lipstick in Love It! which is probably the best thing ever. I mean- that name? Was it not meant to be a favorite? This is the perfect, creamy pink & you’ll find it in my purse at all times. [Read more…]
When I’m traveling I have to severely limit my beauty hoarding. I do my best to avoid bringing unnecessary items that I normally use & instead opt for multi-taskers. Q-tips cotton swabs are an easy addition- I use them for a ridiculous amount of things. Both affordable & disposable, Q-tips are must-haves which I’m trying to get ready during the holidays. When I’m at someone else’s house I try not to leave a mess & they definitely help! Today I thought I’d show you my easy manicure routine that normally consists of many various items that I whittle down to my beloved Q-tips® Precision Tips™. [Read more…]

Covergirl will be donating $50,000 but if you want to win a $25 Walmart gift card from Covergirl keep reading & check out my eye look!
I’ve been using Covergirl products for…forever it seems like. Here I’m sharing some completely new ones to me to spice things up a bit. I also did an easy look that can translate into fall easily. & a lip color that is an instant new favorite.
The Covergirl Eye Enhancers Quad of eyeshadows in Sugar Coated is unlike any other shade selection I own from the drugstore- which is of course why it was the first one I grabbed. From left to right we have a warm honey neutral, softened sky blue with a touch of golden sheen, cool plum-toned brown, & a green-toned blackened teal. All of these shade contain shimmer but with a small array of neutral mattes it gives you some lovely options.
I haven’t tried a Covergirl blush in a long time so I opted for an old favorite- the Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Rock ‘n Rose. The pigmentation is soft & easy to blend so it works great on my fair skin. I actually don’t mine the touch of sheen other- I think it comes off as a healthy glow to further up the value of this rose shade.
I own quite a few Covergirl lipsticks but Euphoria has been on my list for some time! My local stores are always sold out but I snapped it up last time I was at Walmart! This is a pink-toned berry shade. It has an underlying brightness but is still so seasonally appropriate. Isn’t this color pretty?
Last up is the only Covergirl mascara i haven’t tried- Covergirl All-in-One Professional Mascara in Very Black. I’ll admit my love for Covergirl mascaras to random strangers but I love a more dramatic lash. If you like more natural looking lashes then this is quite nice & I think with some drying out it would layer up nicely. You can find the Covergirl #GirlsCan displays in the cosmetics section at Walmart for both the Profession & the Flamed Out Mascara.
Covergirl has graciously offered my readers a $25 Walmart Gift Card! Please enter using the rafflecopter widget below. This giveaway is open to US residents only. Please leave me any comments below telling me how you’ve turned a “can’t” into a “can” because I’d love to read them! Thanks so much for being awesome readers & good luck!
I didn’t grow up on Clinique products but they have certainly grown on me over the years. Since finding my absolute favorite moisturizer in their brand I’ve started branching out through their skincare & into makeup. Slowly but surely I knew I would make my way to the cult favorite shade Black Honey in some form…& today I’m sharing with you quite a few! After reading a bit about the history of the specific shade I thought a linkup with other beauty lovers would be amazing- different looks & different ages all showing how we wear Clinique’s Black Honey. Since this shade is supposed to be flattering on everyone I thought we would put it to the test!
For a bit of background, Clinique’s Black Honey is their best selling shade of their Almost Lipstick line ever. In fact, Clinique ships one tube of this lipstick every 2 minutes. EVERY 2 minutes. There is a lot of history behind this shade but also a good bit of logical science. Black Honey has remained a best-selling shade for the past decade but was actually released first in 1971. The shade was added to the Clinique Almost Lipstick range in 1989 (the year I was born, were we meant to be or what?) & has spanned generations of women. The color itself is comprised of red, blue, yellow, & orange pigments that mix in a sheer base despite the deep shade you see in the tube. Each woman should have her very own custom color straight from the tube- for every age & ethnicity. With well over 1,000 reviews on Makeup Alley I just had to see why this shade has endured. Today I bring you a post I’ve been beyond excited about writing. A tale of dupes…a story of matte…& an eye look I’m in love with. On top of all that I’m talking about a bargain! If you love neutrals & snagging a great deal then you’re in the right spot!
I bought it. Affiliate links.
When it comes to neutral palettes Urban Decay is still likely the most well-known popular brand. From their trio of Naked palettes to the ever popular Naked Basics…Urban Decay is pretty much a no-brainer. I stumbled upon a few palettes at Beauty Brands recently on display & immediately saw some serious similarities. I picked up the Beauty Brands Matte Mini Color Collection & the Beauty Brands Neutral Mini Color Collection. There was also two other palettes which I’ll discuss below! [Read more…]
Have you ever picked up a palette & immediately thought of a certain season? The Smashbox Cherry Smoke Photo Op Eyeshadow Palette is limited edition for Fall 2014 which is just so fitting- this palette is so stunningly autumn. I normally try to do lots of Halloween tutorials…but this year it has been crazy busy. With the new site & lots of life stuff I haven’t gotten to share as much as I’d like. Today, however, I get to show you a tutorial I absolutely fell in love with! I used a variety of products (all broken down below) but it doesn’t have to just be Halloween either. The eyeshadows I used mainly are from the Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette which I’ll be reviewing soon- & this look is just a favorite! Love my purples! Keep reading for the products & application tutorial! [Read more…]
This little baby has been on my brows a lot lately- & with good reason. The NYX Eyebrow Gels are not only the first of their kind from the drugstore…but also a close dupe to the pricier Make Up For Ever options. I’ve actually had this shade for months & it was perfect in the humid months- they really last! I’ve found my favorite way to apply & lots of details which will be below! [Read more…]
