Glossybox US February 2013 featuring Bvlgari, Da Vinci Cosmetics, &…Snail Slime!?

March 14, 2013 By StephanieLouise 503Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fglossybox-us-february-2013-featuring.htmlGlossybox+US+February+2013+featuring+Bvlgari%2C+Da+Vinci+Cosmetics%2C+%26...Snail+Slime%21%3F2013-03-14+19%3A48%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fglossybox-us-february-2013-featuring-bvlgari-da-vinci-cosmetics-snail-slime.html

So in case you missed my Glossybox US unboxing video (you’ll always see Glossybox on Youtube first because afterwards I review it here!) then you aren’t aware of the randomness. This is the February Glossybox which arrived kind of late but I liked it all the same. You’ll see some brands you recognize, some full sized products, & some snail slime. Why yes, you did read that right!

 photo DSCN5241_zps1867278f.jpg
 photo DSCN5243_zpsecbe696e.jpg

As usual, Glossybox includes the theme, products, & more information on their card. I love this layout & it feels well thought out. They also include a Glossymag with photos & tid bits about beauty & trends.

 photo DSCN5222_zps4fc3df95.jpg

Below you’ll find my thoughts on each product! To see my unboxing & first impressions, check out my youtube channel & subscribe!

 photo DSCN5230_zpsfbb84902.jpg

Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au The Blanc Soap- This is a nice sized soap sample & smells of the fragrance of Eau Parfumee Au The Blanc. This is 1.76 oz & a full size is 5.3 oz & retails for $30. This has a nice scent & lathers well. It was nice to add into my soap rotation but it isn’t something I’ll be running out to purchase.

 photo DSCN5235_zpsf708d6ce.jpg
 photo DSCN5234_zps994a407f.jpg

Da Vinci Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Champagne- This is a full size sample of a shimmering eyeshadow. I personally would have preferred something a bit more daring shade wise but I can see this appealing to a lot of people. This is a lovely beige/champagne & it applied rather sheer. I can foil it for a denser application. It says you can use it as a highlighter on the cheeks but I think it is way too shimmery for that! A full size is $15.

 photo DSCN5236_zpse2c6f2da.jpg
 photo DSCN5240_zpsd734ff58.jpg

Lisi Sheer Sparkle Lip Gloss in Battery Park- This gloss is available at a NY beauty boutique but unfortunately it didn’t blow me away. For one thing this gloss is so sheer that I might as well use a clear gloss with gold shimmer. It also boasts a “delectable scent” but I don’t smell anything but your average lipgloss in mine! Maybe I got a dud? This is a full size & it retails for $7 for .31 oz.

 photo DSCN5226_zps3319f8a5.jpg

Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Hydro Gel Mask- If you saw my unboxing video then you probably know how I feel about this sample! This is a full sized mask which retails for $6. Why haven’t I tried it? Well…I just can’t bring myself to put snail slime on my face. It says it is an Asian beauty secret that moisturizes, soothes, regenerates your skin, & is known to reverse skin damage with natural healing powers. I love you guys & you mean the world to me but I seriously don’t think I’m going to put snail slime on my face…& yes snail slime extract is in the ingredients list.

 photo DSCN5231_zpsd22bcc10.jpg

Nail Rock Nail Wraps in the design Metallic Stripe- I have shown these on the blog before & really love the idea of an easy to apply & use nail design at home. This design has black, silver, & gold metallic stripes & I love them! This is a full size & retails for $8 a pack for a full set.

All in all, a nice Glossybox! A lot of full sizes too! For $21 a month the Glossyboxes have been a nice value for me personally & this one was no different. To get your own box, sign up on the Glossybox site! What did you think of this box? Any products you’d like to see reviewed or to try yourself?

**This box was provided in hopes of review. I also order one of my own each month. All opinions are 100% my own. Affiliate links have been used.

Glossybox for January 2013 featuring TARTE, OPI, & More!

February 8, 2013 By StephanieLouise 552Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fglossybox-for-january-2013-featuring.htmlGlossybox+for+January+2013+featuring+TARTE%2C+OPI%2C+%26+More%212013-02-08+15%3A53%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fglossybox-for-january-2013-featuring-tarte-opi-more.html

 photo DSCN3311_zps2865073e.jpg

I love me some Glossybox & even though this one came a bit late….it was totally worth the wait! With items from two of my favorite brands (TARTE & OPI? It is Christmas again!) & a few other brands I like as well. Impressed ladies, very impressed. Keeping reading to see what was inside!

 photo DSCN3313_zpsaf43f03d.jpg

This was a collaboration Glossybox with an awesome blogger who created The Man Repeller so it came in a fancy gray box & fabulous black & silver star tissue paper. I love this look!

 photo DSCN3318_zps55aeb9ba.jpg

OPI Can’t Let Go Liquid Sand Nail Polish: I love this polish oh so much that I swatched it yesterday. Checkout my breakdown here! I love that they included a full size & from their current line, not something off trend. Last month a full size Zoya & this month a full size OPI? Full of win.

 photo DSCN3325_zpseb8c6c46.jpg

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara: I rather like Estee Lauder but I don’t think I’ve ever tried a mascara! Funny…I thought I’d tried everything! This is in Extreme Black (yay, I am so glad they don’t pawn off brown shades I’ll never wear) & I’ll give it a shot when I get through a few more mascaras.

 photo DSCN3327_zpsd82d402d.jpg

FRESH Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum: I don’t think I’ve ever tried this although I quite like FRESH as a brand overall. This sample is packed full to the brim & smells really earthy & natural. I haven’t tried this yet but I’m sure I’ll appreciate it when the heat comes around in a few months.

 photo DSCN3322_zps2cebea70.jpg

Le Metier de Beaute  Replenishing Daily Solution: I’ve never tried this but I’ve had it on my radar. This is supposed to be the creme de la creme & I’m excited to try it out. Yes, it is in a foil packet. With all the full sizes in this box….I won’t complain a bit.

 photo DSCN3320_zps879e2d5a.jpg

Naciso Rodriguez for Her Toilette Spray: I don’t think I’ve had this scent before but it smells absolutely lovely. Definitely feminine with some musk maybe? It doesn’t strike me as youthful but more sophisticated.

 photo DSCN3317_zps00195ffb.jpg

Sebastian Professional Potion 9: This is a really nice size sample! This is described as a wearable-styling treatment & smells like a high end salon. Oddly enough, this is peach in color which was unexpected. I’ve only used it once but it works well to smooth a style together. It left my hair & hands smelling magnificently clean & fancy.

 photo DSCN3330_zps7ec1ee59.jpg

TARTE Glamazon Pure Performance 12 Hour Lipstick in Fierce: I was praying this lipstick would come into my life & here it is. I love so many TARTE products but with my ridiculous lipstick stash I kept talking myself out of buying any of these. SEE? The universe wanted me to have it! Fierce, comfortable, & perfectly packaged. TARTE can pretty much do no wrong.

Want to see any of these products reviewed? Tutorials? Just let me know! What do you think of this Glossybox? Worth the price? I know I think so!

**This particular Glossybox was provided for review although I also purchased my own this month. Affiliate links have been used. All opinions are my own.

La Bella Box January 2013- A New Subscription!

February 1, 2013 By StephanieLouise 561Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fla-bella-box-january-2013-new.htmlLa+Bella+Box+January++2013-+A+New+Subscription%212013-02-01+17%3A47%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fla-bella-box-january-2013-a-new-subscription.html

Photobucket

I love trying new subscriptions! La Bella Box arrived while I was away & I’m so excited to show you what was inside! I’d describe this box as being a more useable wellness box because although it contains some beauty items it also had home items I’ll actually use!

Photobucket

The La Bella Box is a simply designed box perfect to store the small items & for regifting or storage. Since this is my first box, I’m not sure if the packaging changes but this is very nice. The items are placed on top of black crinkle shards & wrapped in antiqued gold tissue paper. Lovely presentation & it doesn’t feel cheap at all.

Photobucket

It comes with a standard card with information about the products. This feels & looks almost identical to those you’d find in Birchbox. They have the prices for each product which I really appreciate. When companies leave that off I have a bit of a gripe.

Photobucket

Little Blooms Handmade Elastic Knotted Ties(3 Pack worth $5)
I know some people aren’t a fan of these types of hair ties but I love them. I stack them with my bracelets & people never notice the difference! They’re flat, stretchy, & comfortable to wear both in my hair & on my wrist! These are made by an Etsy seller & I’m digging these wearable shades. She also has lots of glitter varieties…I’d love to get my hands on those!
Photobucket
Truffle Truffle Classic Milk S’more (Worth $2.75 each)
I posted a picture of the inside of this candy here & omigosh it is ridiculously tasty. Packed in layers & then covered in chocolate it is a magnificent treat. Check out my Instagram picture to see its chocolate-y yummy glory!
Photobucket
Kishr Ancient Wellness Beverage ( One satchel is worth $1.75)
I adore tea & this is definitely a different blend for me! I opted not to sweeten it (I pretty much never sweeten tea) & it was lovely with a bit of a kick from herbs I don’t normally sip. I liked it quite a lot!
Photobucket
Photobucket
Joe Jacket Reversible Eco-Chic Beverage Wrap (Worth $9.95)
Years ago I had planned to make one of these for myself…that didn’t happen! This wrap is really cute & I love that it is reversible. Although it isn’t the colors I would have chosen for myself (Seriously…white? Who can keep that clean?) I love the prints & that I can switch it over for a change on a day to day basis! From a fellow sewer, the stitching on this is great!
Total Overall Box Value is $19.45 (not counting tax/shipping/other fees if bought separately)

La Bella Box is $19 a month & $60 for 3 months. Was my box worth $19? Only because I thoroughly enjoyed everything in it. I happen to love tea, hair ties, bath melts, & coffee mug wraps. What can I say? Maybe I’m easy to please? For $19 if there had been one product I didn’t love it would’ve been a close call but I’m loving what was in the box. It is original, thoughtful, & feels like something a friend would put together for another friend.

It has a more comfortable, original feel rather than professional. With some items from Etsy sellers (which I love!) & other small businesses, I’m loving the feeling of supporting other creative types without having to search for them myself. I think this is a valuable service & fills a gap in the subscription service market which is pretty saturated with ideas currently. If you’re looking for something new, out of the box, with a personal feel then I think this could be for you!

What do you think of what was in this box? Have you tried La Bella Box? Would you be willing to give it a shot?

**This product was provided in hopes of review. I chose to show it you & expressed my own honest opinions.

OFRA 3D Loose Shadow in Diamond Glitz + My December 2012 BB5 Box

January 8, 2013 By StephanieLouise 575Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F01%2Fofra-3d-loose-shadow-in-diamond-glitz.htmlOFRA+3D+Loose+Shadow+in+Diamond+Glitz+%2B+My+December+2012+BB5+Box2013-01-08+00%3A04%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F01%2Fofra-3d-loose-shadow-in-diamond-glitz-my-december-2012-bb5-box.html

Photobucket

So for some reason I got my Beauty Box 5 Box really late this month & because it is decently into January I decided to combine it with an eyeshadow look in case you have seen lots of these. Trying to keep things entertaining! This box was ah-ma-zing & absolutely worth the wait!

Photobucket

What I got in my December 2012 Beauty Box 5 Box:

Photobucket

Jean Pierre Cosmetics Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Pads (Full Size): These are $1.99 for 16 pads which is a great deal. I haven’t used these yet but they look like they will be great for travel!

Photobucket
Photobucket

Everyday Minerals Flat Top Kabuki Brush (Full Size): Absolutely amazing. I love Everyday Minerals & I never get tired of them popping up in my BB5 boxes. This brush retails for $12.99 & is worth every penny! I used it to apply my Maybelline Dream Lumi Foundation here & amazing coverage! It isn’t too dense or too much like a stippling brush…this is the perfect in between!

Photobucket

MaskerAide Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask (Full Size): At $4.99 this is a reasonably priced one-time mask & has about the cutest packaging ever. With the beer can curls (yes!) to the pink boa…this image is full of awesome! I like that this is called “Party Prep” which can be used before going out. I haven’t seen anything like that specifically!

Photobucket

OFRA Cosmetics 3D Eyeshadow in Diamond Glitz (Full Size): Whaaat! Hello gorgeous! First of all, 4 grams of products…that’s a lot! For $19.90 I’m willing to dish out the cash. For reference, Bare Minerals loose shadows contain .57 grams of product. Now this color is absolutely gorgeous & is a brown/green duochrome. Love. This is one of my favorite combos ever & pictures really can’t do it justice. Perfection.

Photobucket

Demeter Roll On Perfume Oil in Cherry Blossom (Full Size): Let me just say I would have never ever even picked this shade up. I very rarely go for Asian scents they just don’t appeal to me. I would have been missing out! This has the cleanest, juciest scent & although it is definitely a delicate floral the fruit shines through on my body chemistry & smells amazing! Um, I now need a full size. This rollerball is only $10.00 & I can see it lasting a very long time!

Photobucket
Photobucket

So for this eyeshadow look I used Too Faced Show Insurance, Covergirl Lashblast 24 Hour in Black, Jordana FabuLiner in Black, Milani Liquid Eye Pencil in Black, & of course OFRA Cosmetics 3D Eyeshadow in Diamond Glitz.Swoon swoon swoon!

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty subscription service & man did it impress me! Check it out & snag your own! I can’t get over this eyeshadow, seriously, swoon.

**BB5 sends me their subscription monthly in hope of review. This in no way guarantees a review or a positive opinion. Affiliate links have been used.

Glossybox USA for December 2012 featuring Zoya, Jewelmint, & More!

December 29, 2012 By StephanieLouise 593Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fglossybox-usa-for-december-2012.htmlGlossybox+USA+for+December+2012+featuring+Zoya%2C+Jewelmint%2C+%26+More%212012-12-29+15%3A52%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fglossybox-usa-for-december-2012-featuring-zoya-jewelmint-more.html

Photobucket

This Glossybox was pretty fab! Full size items galore & items I will actually use…joy! December & January subscription boxes are always some of my favorites & they seem to go all out. To see what was in this Glossybox, keep reading!

Photobucket

Photobucket

So the card this month was a bit different & showed visuals of every product. Love this! I’m totally a visual person so this is great for me. Technically you get 7 items this month, but one is a foil packet & one is a perfume sample. This WOULD bother me except that 4 were full sized items!

Photobucket

Jewelmint Necklace/Pin: Jewelmint is one subscription service I still haven’t tried. I absolutely love jewelry but $29.99 per item is a bit steep when I can usually find gold/sterling silver for that price. i haven’t seen some items I really liked so I might take the plunge someday. I know everyone got different items from Jewelmint & I quite like mine. This is a gold necklace that feels sturdy & the pendant can also be removed from the chain & used as a pin. I love multi-taskers! I’ll probably put this pin on one of my hats ๐Ÿ™‚ This item alone paid for this box in value.

Photobucket

Heartland Frangrace Co White Tea Bath Salts: This one isn’t a full size, but it is a nice handful. You can see it in comparison to the other items in my first photo. I personally love epsom salts, bath melts, bath bombs, pretty much anything like that so I know I’ll always use them. I used these last night & white the scent is a bit light for me these were a nice treat!

Photobucket

Forrest Essentials Luxurious Ayurveda Bath & Shower Oil in Madurai Jasmine & Mogra: Wow is that a long title or what? This oil is heavenly but that is because I’m a jasmine fanatic. Seriously. I love a nice scented oil after getting out of the bath or shower so this is perfect. My only issue with this product is the way to get it out…you don’t get a squeeze or anything. That’s pretty dangerous with straight oil. This is a 1/2 size but I’m considering it a full one because it is so big! This same is worth $11.

Photobucket

Zoya Nail Polish in Electra: You guys know I adore Zoya & loved this polish from their winter collection. To see swatches, check out my original post here. I was more than happy to get a 2nd bottle because this is an awesome layering polish! This is a full size & worth $8.

Photobucket

Mark Luxe Lipstick in m.powerment Petal: I haven’t seen packaging on a lipstick that really struck me as being lovely in a long time but this one hit home. Metallic light pink tube with holo mark around the tube. This feels light but very sturdy & “clicks” closed with a magnetic pull. I think I’m in love. This shade is also pretty great & is a universal cool rose pink that is super easy to wear. it is that great mid-point of moisture & long wear so it is comfortable. It also feels light on the lips because it is nicely pigmented. These are $12.

Photobucket

I’m just putting these 2 together. You get a tiny sample of Wella Velvet Amplifier Style Primer & a fragrance sample of Pleats Please which is a fragrance from Issey Miyake. From Amazon: Pleats Please is a joyful, optimistic and exuberant fragrance of “vertically pleated” flowery, fruity and woody structure signed by perfumer Aurelien Guichard. Its opening splashes with Asian hybrid fruit Nashi, generated by crossing apples and pears (pear flavor is the one that dominates). The heart symbolizes femininity with floral accords of peony and sweet pea, while Indole molecule provides freshness and vigor to the composition. The base is generous with intensive accords of patchouli, cedar, vanilla absolute and white musk.It smells super floral & woody to me but I actually kind of like it. It isn’t for me personally just because it is pretty overpowering.

I loved this box & I think they hit it out of the park for me personally. Last month’s Glossybox didn’t blow my mind but they totally made up for it this month! As far as I’m concerned, they can throw in as many foil & perfume samples as they want as long as they keep hitting home with those full sized items! The Jewelmint alone paid for the box but everything really came together nicely. Very impressed!

To get your own GLOSSYBOX, check out their website! You can also earn GlossyDots which go towards a free box. If you have any questions, just let me know! You can also search for GLOSSYBOX in the top left of my blog to see what past boxes have contained. What do you think?

**This box was provided in hopes of review. I also buy my own each month. All opinions are my own. This is not sponsored. Affiliate links have been used.

SquareHue December Nail Polish Box (New Subscription Service!)

December 28, 2012 By StephanieLouise 594Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fsquarehue-december-nail-polish-box-new.htmlSquareHue+December+Nail+Polish+Box+%28New+Subscription+Service%21%292012-12-28+16%3A05%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fsquarehue-december-nail-polish-box-new-subscription-service.html

Photobucket

So besides Julep, I can’t think of another worthwhile nail polish subscription. While I like Julep alright, I haven’t liked it enough to subscribe. SquarHue is pretty new & also pretty fabulous. This is my first box, but the fabulousity is in the details. Keep reading to find out why I’m giving it a thumbs up!

Photobucket

The bottles are really sleek & modern looking. Square with a white “hue” on one side & a white lid. I love the feel of these glass square bottles!

Photobucket

The labels on the bottom have to be my favorite part though. Here you will see the name of the shade & also the date you received it in your box…brilliant! I can’t believe no one else has come up with that idea!

Photobucket

Each box contains 3 full size ( .5 fl oz) bottles nicely packaged in a simple box. Because this is monthly, you will recieve 3 very “now” shades. These polishes are big 3 free, not tested on animals, & just look so lovely up on my nail polish shelf. Let’s see how I like the formula shall we?

Photobucket

Champagne Toast- A gorgeous champagne metallic. This applied like a dream. Here is 2 even coats.

Photobucket

Holly Berry- A shimmering nearly metallic red. Gorgeous. Perfect application. 2 coats.

Photobucket

Sugar Plum- Another nearly metallic that is a vibrant plum purple. So me. This has great dimension. 2 even & easy coats.

These shades are amazing & were perfect for the holiday season! Interested in subscribing to this new monthly nail polish subscription? Check out SquareHue here for yourself! I think it will definitely be the new IN polish subscription! For only $21 a month, I’m way impressed!

**Box received in consideration of review. All opinions are my own.

December Starlooks Starbox Review + Swatches!

December 26, 2012 By StephanieLouise 598Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fdecember-starlooks-starbox-review.htmlDecember+Starlooks+Starbox+Review+%2B+Swatches%212012-12-26+17%3A40%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fdecember-starlooks-starbox-review-swatches.html

Photobucket

I‘m so sorry this has taken so long to get up! My Starbox had to be resent & then the snow delayed it! Darn Nebraska! Anyway, I have swatches on this post & an eye look which I should have up later today! Excited!

So for this month they had a truly amazing box, a full palette with a wide array of glorious shades! This is definitely my favorite December box because I love the way they put the colors together. They used inspiration from the colored lights on a Christmas tree…brilliant! I love it so much & it is perfect for all year.

Photobucket
This box was a faded red with a gold holographic logo. Lovely! I keep all of these boxes to regift or store items.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Here’s the pretty sparkly snow insert (fun!) & the card that came with the box this month!

Photobucket

This palette is lovely & definitely a great representation of classic Christmas tree colors! Each color is set into the palette so there is no wiggling of these shades. The cover is clear with the Starlooks logo.

& here are the swatches! These shades are amazing but my favorite is definitely the light gold/white shade. I adore these types of shades as a highlight or to layer over another color for the perfect touch of gold…I’m totally in love! These shades are wonderfully rich & have a variety of finishes.

Photobucket
Photobucket

For only $15 a month, the Starlooks Starbox is a steal. If you love makeup (which if you’re here, I’m guessing you do!) then this is definitely an excellent option. You receive full size makeup products & no foil packets hurrah! So there it is! If you are interested in signing up for a Starlooks Starbox, you can visit their site here. This isn’t an affiliate link but I’d appreciate it if you let them know I sent you their way! This box was provided for review, but as always my opinions are 100% my own! If you got other shades in your Starbox…I’d love to see them!

Birchbox for December 2012 featuring Model Co

December 16, 2012 By StephanieLouise 609Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fbirchbox-for-december-2012-featuring.htmlBirchbox+for+December+2012+featuring+Model+Co2012-12-16+20%3A28%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fbirchbox-for-december-2012-featuring-model-co.html

This is my December Birchbox! I received a product that I actually got in my Beauty Box 5 box last month which is the Model Co gloss. Everything else is new to me though!Just click on the photos below to enlarge them!
Photobucket

Photobucket
Photobucket

This box was just okay. I’m not unhappy but I’m also not blown away.I was really excited to get the Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream because apparently I’m a big time BB Cream fan. I’m been wearing this today & it has a nice finish. I don’t have enough to do a full review though, sorry. The Keratase Thermique packets aren’t getting used anytime soon…I just have loads of haircare to get through. This lipgloss isn’t my favorite but it is a pretty shade, a sheer berry. I am counting the lotion packet with the lotion sample. This is a good sized sample but the lotion is just okay. The scent just isn’t for me. I don’t usually go for energizing scents, more sultry or floral.
I just want to say that I consider the InStyle card a throwaway. I’m not into Rent the Runway type services. I’d rather just buy something I can keep. I don’t feel like it adds any value to the box either.
So that’s what I got! Not awful, not great. I count this box as being $5 & with the full sized gloss & decent size of the lotion I’m pleased. Why do I consider a $10 to be only $5? Because for every product you get in your & review, you get points. 10 per product. Then you can use them to purchase items in their store which I really like! They often have exclusive colors or products.
What do you think of this Birchbox? Are you subscribed? Any other boxes you like?
**I purchase Birchbox with my own funds. Affiliate links have been used. All opinions are my own.

Glossybox for November 2012 featuring Illamasqua, Kryolan, & More!

December 7, 2012 By StephanieLouise 622Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fglossybox-for-november-2012-featuring.htmlGlossybox+for+November+2012+featuring+Illamasqua%2C+Kryolan%2C+%26+More%212012-12-07+14%3A18%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F12%2Fglossybox-for-november-2012-featuring-illamasqua-kryolan-more.html

So normally I love to do a video open box for my GLOSSYBOX supscription but that just isn’t happening. I am so sick guys. Seriously. No one wants to see this. I’m still working hard to bring you the best in beauty but there is no way you want to see me on camera. A blog post only will simply have to do!

Photobucket

I know some people weren’t thrilled with this GLOSSYBOX & while I don’t think it was the best I certainly didn’t think it was a bad box. With 2 makeup items, one nail item, one hair item, & one skin product I thought it was decently rounded out. One of the products alone nearly paid for the box.

Here’s the Glossybox Magazine that comes with every box. Always in color, beautiful, & a nice read.

Illamasqua Lip & Eye Medium Pencil in Honour: This pencil is a not too soft not too hard medium-dark brown. I realize this isn’t something I will be rocking on my lips but I HIGHLY appreciate them letting me know I can. When looking through my stash for Halloween tutorials & dramatic looks it was hard to find a liner that was super dramatic yet still lip safe.  This is a full size & retails for $20 so it nearly paid for the $21 box itself. This is creamy & blendable but doesn’t blend away. Looks nice on my eyes!

INCOCO Nail Polish Applique Strips in Sinderella: I love nail strips & these are a welcomed addition to my stash. These are meant to be used on bare nails & contain both a base & top coat. This is kind of a cranberry red looking shade but nice & bright. I might bring these with me on vacation!

Kryolan for Glossybox Blusher in Gloss Rosewood: I know I read & saw some complaints about this blush but I personally like it. It is supposed to apply lightly & indeed it does. It looks healthy & it is easy to apply. It says cream powder formulation but I’m really not feeling that.

Nume Style Arganics by NuMe Argan Oil: This really doesn’t feel or smell like argan oil, great for those looking for an oil without the strong smell or the oil feel. This feels almost sticky or stringy at first which had me super hesitant to put it on my hair. It smells like a shampoo kind of? Not that strong Argan scent I was expecting at all. Once applied, it soaked into my hair, nothing stick about it.

Skin & Co Roma Truffle Serum: This is a Hydro-Toning Daytime Face Serum which is meant to “slow down the signs of aging” & contains lots of good-for-your-skin ingredients. This is clear & sinks in. It is like a gel but definitely soaks in to the point where I can’t even see I have applied it. I definitely detect a scent…but sadly being sick I can’t tell you what that scent is. Sorry ๐Ÿ™

Here are swatches of the Illamasqua Lip & Eye Pencil & the Kryolan  for Glossybox Blusher in Glossy Rosewood.

Overall, I liked this box. This didn’t blow my mind but these are products I was happy to try. The blush is a nice size, I think it is an easy shade to wear too. Perfect for travel. I really like the Illamasqua Lip & Eye pencil too. Nail Polish Strips always make me happy!

Beauty Box 5 for November 2012

So sorry about the lateness! Beauty Box 5 arrived a week ago but I didn’t have a card to go with it. I did get one sent to me through e-mail & have tried everything in my box so I am now ready to share! For those who don’t know, Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty based subscription box. For price breakdowns, check out Beauty Box 5‘s website because you can snag some sweet deals.

Again, this box had a nice mix of products including some full-sized products.

Swagger Eyeshadow: I didn’t know where this eyeshadow was from (clearly) & now I know it is from Swagger. It doesn’t have a shade or label on it so I have no idea what shade it is. What I DO know is that it is very pretty! This shimmery taupe is a nice addition to my collection & had nice pigmentation. I might even check out some more from the brand.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion: Like I said in the video, I had never tried this before! I full admit to being SICK sick sick & I can’t smell anything so I have no idea about the scent. It honestly didn’t blow me away but it is kind of hard to tell from a sample size. It seems like it would be good for normal skin types.

Envie De Nuef Eye Mask: These are wonderfully saturated! Really great when your under eye area needs a little TLC.

Model Co Lip Shine in Tease: This is a nice sheer pink with a bit of shimmer to it, basically something I would use atop a lipstick. It comes out of the tube a bit stringy almost thick? But it applies super moisturizing & lovely. Not sticky at all. I know some people had something to say about the scent of these…but I’m sick. Sorry guy. I’ve got nothing.

Global Goddess Upgrade Complexion Face Primer: This is the only foil packet (I don’t count the Eye Masks because those are pretty much full sized) & you get 2 of them. I tried one & it felt just okay, kind of in the middle of thick & thin. Even being sick I could detect a slight scent that kind of reminded me of hair products.

Of course, I love that this box was mostly makeup, always a plus for me!Have you ever gotten a Beauty Box 5 Box? What do you think of what I got this month?
