Stephanie Louise Telford & her guide on beauty, style, & glitter!

PINK by MAHYA- The Most Fabulous Glitters (including a holo!)

May 21, 2012 By StephanieLouise 7999 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F05%2Fpink-by-mahya-most-fabulous-glitters.htmlPINK+by+MAHYA-+The+Most+Fabulous+Glitters+%28including+a+holo%21%292012-05-21+00%3A51%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F05%2Fpink-by-mahya-the-most-fabulous-glitters-including-a-holo.html

Are you ready for a glitter extravaganza? I don’t hear enough wonderful things about Mahya, let alone about these incredibly gorgeous & versatile glitters. Mahya has a pretty wide range of shades including my personal favorite (Jewell) which is a fine holo. Endless options, fabulous glue, & the differences can all be found in this post! I can’t WAIT to get more to show you!

 From Mahya Minerals Website:

  • This is NOT your normal teenage glitter that leaves you looking like a disco ball!
  • Very adult, very sexy!
  • Add to you favorite shadow, blush, and lip color for added shimmer.
  • Add to your body lotion and apply to add stunning highlights.
  • Add to hair gel and apply, or sprinkle into you hair brush, brush through, and spray with hairspray to hold shimmers in.
  • Fun additions to your makeup case!
  • Cosmetic grade glitters to add flash and glam!
  • Each color is a multi-faceted explosion of colors!
  • Add to your eye-shadow for extra FLASH.

What I Say:

Let’s start off with the 4 glitters shall we? I have 6 items total (plus the Eye Glitter Gel!) but 2 are a different type. The glitters are all very different & finer than I had expected. Jewell & Citrine are noticeably finer than both First Date & Kisses. Don’t get me wrong, I like having multiple size options. If you guys want a comparison for the glitter size, I’ll be happy to do that as well. Because they are so fine, I recommend not removing the plastic sticker that goes atop the sifter completely. I use tiny scissors & only remove 1-2 holes so that I have better control of the glitter.

Now let’s talk about Starry Night & Twilight! These are from a different line called Glittery Minerals. These are basically eyeshadows mixed with glitters so they have a bit of both. I love these! Each has a base that covers the spaces that glitters often leave. This allows you to use them on their own, preferably under a base for tackiness. I do highly recommend the Mahya Eyeshadow base as its very tacky but using the Glitter Eye Gel in conjunction isn’t a bad idea either.

The Glitter Eye Gel I have is in a pot & you get a lot. It doesn’t dry out & seals really well. On the site, it is now available in a tube with a wand. I haven’t tried this method from Mahya yet but if I do, I will be sure to let you know which I prefer. This is incredible, not too thick or thin. I apply it with an angled eyeliner brush for a bit of accuracy. You can definitely dab it on & then apply the glitter when its tacky. This hold the glitter like crazy. I haven’t tried many glitter glue type products but this was definitely impressive in both ease of use & the longevity of wear.

Glitters:
– Kisses: A medium pink glitter.
– First Date: A medium purple glitter.
– Citrine: An gold toned bronze ultra fine glitter.
– Jewell: An ultra fine silver holo glitter.

Glittery Minerals:
– Twilight: A blurple (yes, blue & purple) powder that is so sparkling it looks to be glitter in a super fine form. This has a smoky base.
– Starry Night: A black/charcoal base with black & silver glitter.

So basically, you need at least ten of these. Maybe 50. I am now pretty obsessed & desperately need to collect every single one. There are so many I want now & I can’t wait to try these with clear nail polish! I mean, the possibilities are pretty much endless! From the Glittery Minerals line, I’m dying to try Radiant, Summer, & Sneaking Out. From the Glitters I think next I need to get my hands on Aquamarine, Ladies Night, Gem, & Sassy Brassy. After shopping around, I pretty much need them all.

To pick these items up, just check out the Mahya Minerals website. I am not an affiliate so the following links are a courtesy: Glittery Minerals, Glitters, & Glitter Eye Gel.

I have some eye looks coming up using these soon so stay tuned for those, they are quite lovely if I do say so myself!

These products were provided for review from Mahya Minerals but this in no way effects my review or opinions. These are my honest opinions.

3 NEW Vaseline Total Moisture Lotions + GIVEAWAY!

May 19, 2012 By StephanieLouise 80027 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F05%2F3-new-vaseline-total-moistures-lotions.html3+NEW+Vaseline+Total+Moisture+Lotions+%2B+GIVEAWAY%212012-05-19+15%3A40%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F05%2F3-new-vaseline-total-moisture-lotions-giveaway.html

When it comes to my cuticles, I am wildly addicted to my Vaseline Plus Cocoa Butter. Because I am such an addict (every night I rub it into my oh so valuable cuticles!) I jumped on the chance to review Vaseline’s 3 new lotions & they were kind enough to offer one to a reader! Let’s look at these 3 new formulations & hopefully you will find a lemming for at least one!

Vaseline Total Moisture Body Lotion:

This lotion smells like a lot of my all-natural products, definitely an oatmeal scent with a sweetness. This is the medium lotion of this trio. It isn’t ultra thick or thin, its a great daily lotion. This is the easiest for me as it doesn’t have a strong scent & is a happy medium type of consistency.

Vaseline Total Moisture Aloe Fresh Body Lotion:

I think I’ve been looking for this lotion all my life. There are so many heavy lotions out there, but not enough thin ones. In the humidity or high heat, I can’t use super thick lotion. I feel like it just slips right off or I sweat it off. Gross right? Well I’ve found the perfect active lotion! This is thin, aloe-cucumber scented, & moisturizes my skin to the right degree.

Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Radiant Body Lotion:

This scent is always going to be one of my favorites…something about cocoa butter. Why? No idea. This is the thickest & richest of all three options. I like this best when my skin is drier, especially on my legs! This is kind of the happy medium between my legs with lotion normally & my legs with bronzed lotion. Sometimes, because I’m so fair, the bronzed lotions can look harsh & way unnatural. I don’t have naturally tan commercial legs, there’s my deep dark secret…HA. But anyway, I do like this for its texture, cocoa butter scent, & it moisturizes my super dry areas like a charm.

GIVEAWAY:

Vaseline & RocketXL have been kind enough to offer one reader the chance to win one of these lotions! When they asked me which one I wanted to giveaway, I honestly couldn’t decide! What if they wanted a different one? What if they want the aloe for summer or the oatmeal for sensitive skin? After letting them know that we decided YOU will decide which one you want!

BzzAgent: Garnier Triple Nutrition Shampoo & Conditioner Review

May 14, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8033 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F05%2Fbzzagent-garnier-triple-nutrition.htmlBzzAgent%3A+Garnier+Triple+Nutrition+Shampoo+%26+Conditioner+Review2012-05-14+01%3A36%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F05%2Fbzzagent-garnier-triple-nutrition-shampoo-conditioner-review.html

I love trying shampoos & conditioners so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I agreed to participate in the Garnier Bzz Campaign. I have had a love hate relationship with Garnier over the years. I honestly don’t think I’ve had a so-so product, just excellent or awful for my hair. Its rare I declare a hair product excellent so I don’t mind doing the work to find it! Most of my beloved Garnier products have been discontinued over the years but I still await my next golden product.

Garnier Triple Nutrition Shampoo & Conditioner has been something I’ve been waiting to try because it claims to be great for dry/damaged hair. My hair tends to get dry & I do love my hot tools so this is what I tend to go for.

About Garnier Triple Nutrition:

  • Work best on dry or damaged hair
  • Nourish hair to the core so it shines from within
  • Formulated with Fortified Fruit Science – three weightless nutritive fruit oils (olive, avocado and shea)
  • Packed with ultra-rich and nourishing conditioners that rinse clean — we dare you to find something that treats your dry damaged hair better

My Take:
After I got this, I convinced my husband to try it with me. I always appreciate a second opinion & he’s pretty sensitive to scents in my hair…I’m way short haha. We both smelled it in the bottle & really liked it. In the end, we decided it smelled like melons & apples. YUM! So clean & wonderful smelling. All in all, things looked good. We especially liked how you popped the top: it has ridges which made it way easy to open in the shower. Big thanks to Garnier for that.

So, this is where things get weird. This shampoo is slippery…really slippery. I seriously almost ate it multiple times in the shower as did my husband. It was borderline scary to be honest. I used the average amount I do with other shampoos/conditioners, but this was crazy difficult to wash out. This took quite a long time for me, longer than average. This bummed me out.

After having this all out of my hair & my hair being dry, we did notice a difference though. Both of us started compulsively touching our hair: it was crazy soft. The scent was an issue though, hobby does not like it at all. It smells so different from it did in the bottle, more sour. I don’t hate it & it doesn’t bother me, but it definitely isn’t as nice as it was in the bottle. My husband did comment many times about how wonderfully soft his hair was for many days though, & so was mine!

I guess what I can say is that although this wasn’t for me in the long term, I can definitely see this being a favorite of others. My hair is really fine but very thick & the softness was truly awesome.

Where to Buy:
These have a suggested retail price of $3.99 (13 oz.) and $6.99 (25.4 oz & are available at grocery stores, drug stores and mass retailers like Target and Wal-Mart so they should be relatively easy to pick up!

Disclosure: I received free product samples from BzzAgent for the purpose of a review. All opinions and thoughts are mine and 100% honest.

Ulta Bargain: TARTE Amazonian Blush & Bronze on the Go + Review

April 27, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8154 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fulta-bargain-tarte-amazonian-blush.htmlUlta+Bargain%3A+TARTE+Amazonian+Blush+%26+Bronze+on+the+Go+%2B+Review2012-04-27+14%3A46%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fulta-bargain-tarte-amazonian-blush-bronze-on-the-go-review.html

I usually spring for full size items. I think “What the heck, that mini is a third of the size at half the price!” & often this is true. But I have been dying to try the Tarte Amazonian Clay products but I have a pretty extensive blugh & bronzer collection so I was timid. I picked this up a few weeks ago from Ulta for only $15 & I think it worked out great for me. If you are a person who often doesn’t finish a blush or bronzer, I think this would also be great for you! As far as the duo goes, these are each .11 ounces while the full size is .32 ounces. Price breakdowns are below as well as swatches at the end.

Love the packaging. Some people might be upset they don’ have mirrors but that doesn’t bother me one bit. Very sturdy, not overly messy like some mini size powder items, & most of all, adorable packaging that is very much a Tarte signature.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface
Artificial Light.
Flash.
This is the shade (along with Tipsy) that I was told I HAD to try. Life or death type thing. This is touted as lasting for 12 hoursbut the most interesting claim is that they are made for ALL skin types. I’m not sure if that’s true as I only have my skin, but i can tell you it lasted all day on my dry cheeks. It again lasted through some rigorous Red Rover we played the other day, never underestimate kids who want to win. I find it to be easily blendable & well pigmented. This color compliments me. It isn’t shimmery but gives a nice glow effect on the skin.
I found this easy to apply if I tapped my brush into the color, not swirled. Tapping got the pigment on my brush without breaking up the powder which is a bit soft. I think this is due to the moisturizing effect its supposed to give. The color Dollface specifically is quite pretty, but I don’t agree its a soft pink. I think of it more as a brighter light pink with cool undertones. This didn’t last a full 12 hours on me though, but maybe a brighter shade would? It did last well over 8.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes are $25 for .20 ounces. The mini is (I’m splitting the $15in half for these!) $7 for .11 ounces. Bargain much? Unless you feel you need a mirror, pick up a few of these suckers & enjoy the free bronzer!
Tarte Mineral Bronzer in Park Ave Princess
Artificial Light.
Flash.
I was most excited about the blush, but I also love me some bronzer. I’m fair so I do find it hard to find bronzers I feel compliment my skin without giving me that over-baked look. This one is quite shimmering in the pan so its likely I wouldn’t have looked twice at it in the store due to its price tag. I can find shimmering bronzers for a lot less.
Once again, Park Ave Princess would have to be the shade I’ve heard most about. Then again, there is only two shades so I guess that’s not saying much! Park Ave Princess is something I wouldn’t have picked up on my own & that would have been a mistake. Although it looks to be packed with shimmer, this gives a beautiful glow to my fair skin. Granted, you need to use a much lighter hand & its not a contouring bronzer. I love the healthy glow it gives & its pigments enough I only use the LIGHTEST touch. I don’t even use my regular brush but a less dense one. I also like this swiped across my collarbones for a night out.
Tarte Mineral Bronzers are $29 for .32 ounces. This mini (again splitting it in half) is $7 for .11 ounces. You can definitely save a few bucks if you don’t mind having a mini & not having a mirror!
Overall, I know a lot of people got these samples for free & if I don’t say something about that I know I’ll get informed of that. But for those of us who didn’t do gifts with purchase & such, this is the perfect sampler of each in shades that should fit many skin tones. I wish they had some darker options for deeper skin tones availible though. I would buy these every time they came out with them as long as they stayed at this value. This has me thinking I need at least one other blush, well done Tarte. No sane person needs another blush with the amount I have, so cheers to you.

MyGlam Bag April 2012…Underwhelming but Funny.

April 19, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8197 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fmyglam-bag-april-2012underwhelming-but.htmlMyGlam+Bag+April+2012...Underwhelming+but+Funny.2012-04-19+13%3A43%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fmyglam-bag-april-2012-underwhelming-but-funny.html

If you saw my April Birchbox review/unboxing, then you know I wasn’t impressed. Then I opened my MyGlam bag (also $10) & was underwhelmed. Again.

At this point I feel like I’m getting a MyGlam bag just to be let down. For one thing, they don’t address customer issues the right way. I feel like they have tried sweeping things under the rug & making big excuses instead of just doing the right thing & straight-up apologizing. Here’s what I’ve been hearing:

“Aren’t the brushes nice? She went all the way to another country & hand picked them for you!”

Eh, they’re okay. Still smell a bit funky. I don’t see a difference from the two brushes in this bag & my ELF ones. Except that ELF packages them for me so they arrive in good shape.

“What about the eyeliner! Its Urban Decay!”

Yes, I know this! I do love Urban Decay! However, I have this shade & although I love it, wish I had gotten something else. I don’t hate this pencil, I just already own it. In a full size.

“Okay, well everyone loves false lashes!”

You know what, I do like false lashes sometimes. Not often do I wear a full set, but I do like them. You know what I don’t like? That the only thing I can read in English on this whole package is what I assume to be the brand name & the following phrases:

1. Yellow Haunt. WTF IS THIS?
2. Kevin. Um okay Kevin, what can you tell me about these lashes man?
3. Gamma Ray Sterilization. …WHAT?
4. Natural Soft Comfort. Natural for who? No, really?
5. We love the Earth. Me too man, internet high five.

“Wow, you guys are hard to please! Here’s a FULL SIZE lippie from Dermstore!”

Let’s get this straight, I love Dermstore. Really I do. But this lip quench was NOT created for me. It feels like I put silicone directly onto my lips & its wicked thick. The shimmers isn’t bad but the smell is. I say it smells like some kind of chemicals. Husband said it smelled like rotten skittles. Either way, not sexy.

Below are the swatches of my Urban Decay pencil in Radium & the Dermstore Lip Quench . You can see the lip quench is super heavy & thick in the middle. I smoothed out the edges so you could tell how thick it is.

So there you go! That’s my MyGlam bag summed up in a more entertaining form. What did you think of yours? Am I being a negative nancy? What issues have YOU had with MyGlam?

Physician’s Formula pH Matchmaker Blush in Natural Swatches & Review

April 18, 2012 By StephanieLouise 821Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fphysicians-formula-ph-matchmaker-blush.htmlPhysician%27s+Formula+pH+Matchmaker+Blush+in+Natural+Swatches+%26+Review2012-04-18+13%3A51%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fphysicians-formula-ph-matchmaker-blush-in-natural-swatches-review.html

Physician’s Formula pH Matchmaker Blush is similar to the pH lipgloss in light pink I reviewed in a few ways: the pH color matching system, the lighting, & I love it. Just like the gloss, this blush was created to be able to transform into the perfect shade for your skin tone within 60 seconds.

The packaging on this was fabulous. The black case is very sturdy & the compartments don’t pop open or flip-flop around like some of my blushes do. I don’t usually use brushes that come with products (what would be the point of buying my own?) but I honestly quite like this one. Its somewhat stiff so it applies the color perfectly. The lights on this one are just as bright as on the gloss but much more usuable to me. If you look on the right side of the mirror you will see the TINIEST of switches to turn it on. Some people might complain about how small the switch is but I think its perfect. If it was big it would pick up excess blush & get in my way.

As you can see, the swatch is beautiful. The silver shimmering dots along the edges add some silver spark to this swatch. The silver dots of shimmer on the blush can be wiped off if you don’t like them which is a plus as well. After the silver is wiped off, its gone. This color is a warm pink with very coral undertones. I was suprised this was “Natural” because normally that’s just a pink. I look much more natural in corals so this was a big bonus.

As for the color changing aspect, I found it lacking. You could visibly SEE my gloss change remember? So I thought this would work along the same lines. I am sad to report I didn’t notice it adjust. Here they are swatched the one on the right after 2 minutes & the one on the left immediately after application. Bummer right?

Well, not really. I love this blush. Its silky & smooth when applied. This color looks gorgeous on & I can build it if I want. Plus, its drugstore afforable which I always appreciate! On top of that, I really do love this packaging. In fact, I like this shade so much I want to check out the other shade in this line available which is called “Rose” when I can.

You can pick these up at your local drugstores for around $12.95 but, as always when I review Physician’s Formula, I recommend waiting for a bargain. CVS often has some amazing deals that will reduce this by around 50% if not more. If you don’t want to wait, I honestly don’t blame you. This shade really is that gorgeous.

Mani of the Day: Jersey? Sure! Hand Mixed Polish from NailsByLaura

April 17, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8222 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fmani-of-day-jersey-sure-hand-mixed.htmlMani+of+the+Day%3A+Jersey%3F+Sure%21+Hand+Mixed+Polish+from+NailsByLaura2012-04-17+14%3A26%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fmani-of-the-day-jersey-sure-hand-mixed-polish-from-nailsbylaura.html

Today we have a shade from Laura of Nails By Laura. You can find her on Etsy under the shop name NailsByLaura & her facebook page Nails by Laura. Definitely follow her on facebook because she has had some big things in the works both nail polish-wise & business-wise! If you remember WAY back to Halloween 2011, I showed you two of her pigments I used in my eyeshadow look using Witches Brew & Toil & Trouble. Clearly, her true passion is nails, & boy does it show. She has some greats in her shop including some inspired collections from Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, Twilight, & lots of original designs. She will also make you a CUSTOM nail polish which is very cool!

Today I’m showing you Jersey? Sure! which is possibly one of my favorite nail polish names of all time. I mean, really? Laura, you crack me up!

According to Laura’s Etsy description of the polish, this is described as: “Jersey? Sure!” is a shiny, honey colored polish, hand mixed by me, and part of my “WanderLust” line of polishes.” My description is below.

 Ottolight.
 Shade.
Sun.

Jersey? Sure! from Nails by Laura- A bronze toned champagne that I classify as a soft metallic shimmer. Non-streaky, easy to apply, & opaque in 1-2 coats.

Here is Jersey?Sure! next to my Zoya Wednesday for size reference.

I have to tell you guys, its my dream to name nail polishes. I feel like I need a nail polish company JUST to name them honestly! When reading the name, I expected it to be a bit more orange but this is so wearable that it would even be office appropriate. Its buttery when applied & completely smooth. No streaks here! & you can see the finish has shimmer visible under direct sunlight & ottolight that is more multifaceted. Its not just silver or gold.

In honor of the name, here is my favorite body tanner which I absolutely swear by, especially in the summer months. Its the only one that isn’t stinky & makes me look healthy!

I can’t wait to show you my other polish I currently have from Nails by Laura & more in the future! I’d love to see a full summer line expansion with funny names like “Fake n Bake” & “Tee Shirt Time” to mimic Jersey Shore. What can I say? I’m a sucker for a good name slapped on an excellent polish!

*This polish was provided for review however that in no way impacts my opinions.

Wet n Wild Mega Shield Lip Color SPF 15 in Peachy Keen, Ring Around the Rosy, & Birthday Suit Swatches & Review

April 16, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8231 Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fwet-n-wild-mega-shield-lip-color-spf-15.htmlWet+n+Wild+Mega+Shield+Lip+Color+SPF+15+in+Peachy+Keen%2C+Ring+Around+the+Rosy%2C+%26+Birthday+Suit+Swatches+%26+Review2012-04-16+13%3A26%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Fwet-n-wild-mega-shield-lip-color-spf-15-in-peachy-keen-ring-around-the-rosy-birthday-suit-swatches-review.html

So here are the first 3 Mega Shield Lip Colors I picked up & I liked them so much I have picked up 2 more. Because these were the first its only fair you see them first right? All 3 of these are gorgeous.

Wet n Wild Mega Shield Lip Color SPF 15 in Peachy Keen- A peachy bronze frost that gives off the warmth of gold without being too over the top.

Wet n Wild Mega Shield Lip Color SPF 15 in Ring Around the Rosy- A rose shade that leans a bit raisin. This one is creamy & without shimmer. Very wearable.

Wet n Wild Mega Shield Lip Color SPF 15 in Birthday Suit- A pink toned nude with a frosted finish. For those who were digging my lip color for my Purple Smoky Eye Post I did for my birthday, this was the lip color used. Although its a frost I find it really easy to wear.

So what makes these so great? Besides their price tag, color selection, & being from a brand I trust, these are great lip colors overall. Moisturizing but will last longer than other moisture rich shades. I love the feel on my lips as they aren’t thick or slick, two things I’m not interested in for summer. Plus…SPF! I LOVE that! I’ll be wearing these more in videos & pictures so stay tuned if you want to see them with a full face. All three are lovely against my skin tone & I can’t imagine them not working on someone else really. These also swatched easily & although they are buildable I can also wear them sheer because they are well pigmented.

A negative? Yep. The packaging on these is just …weird! The two photos above comes on each single tube. I’ll let my girl Kelly at Vampy Varnish explain because she does it so eloquently. Done ready? Okay so these are picking up fuzz like crazy around where the sticker was. So annoying. Other than the whole sticker dilemma, I rather like the tube. It feels sturdy & such.

These are $2.99 each but Wet n Wild is often sold in stores with great sales so be sure to check that out before you hunt them down. I believe I picked mine up from CVS or Walgreens. Have you tried these? What shades are you loving?

Little Black Bag March 2012 Unboxing + Review

April 10, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8293 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Flittle-black-bag-march-2012-unboxing.htmlLittle+Black+Bag+March+2012+Unboxing+%2B+Review2012-04-10+14%3A15%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Flittle-black-bag-march-2012-unboxing-review.html

I don’t always post my videos here on the blog (which is why you should also follow me on Youtube!) but this one definitely needed to be on both! Little Black Bag is a monthly subscription service For $50 you will receive 2-4 items worth AT LEAST $100. Now that you have chosen your main item & received your bonus items, the fun can really start! This is the first service I’ve tried where the customer can barter with others to create the ultimate end result. For instance, you’ll see in the video above I received 2 bonus items & I wasn’t crazy about one. So then I started getting tons of offers to trade for other items! I also go offers on the other items I had but opted to keep them. Instead of getting something I liked & would have used rarely, I got to barter for earrings that I have a sick obsession with! Good trade right?

For reference here is my original Little Blag Bag:

BCBGeneration Pattern Foldover Clutch in Azure

LYDELL NYC Double Horn Necklace

‘ZAD Set of 3 Hammered Bracelets

& then I traded the horn necklace for these Disney Couture Hook Earrings!

Is it pricier than Birchbox or MyGlam or Beauty Army? You bet. But there is a good reason. Instead of throwing away $10 on a box full of samples I MIGHT use, you can spend $50 for some seriously high-quality pieces. I didn’t end up with makeup this time, but if I had wanted some Cargo cosmetics I could’ve gotten them at a great price! Right now, Little Black Bag has some other beauty options including Mineralogie & ncLA Nail Polish, both brands I would love to receive. I am totally into the Cargo eyeshadow quads as well! If you’re not interested in cosmetics, some items I am loving include the Betsey Johnson sunglasses, Vince Camuto crystal bangles, & (no surprise here!) the fab BCBG purses they have available.

I still love my $10-15 a month subscription services, but I think everyone will like Little Black Bag. Most of the complaints I hear would be solved with this kind of idea! What do you think of this subscription concept? Would you be interested in getting or giving this as a gift? Plus, which items on the site are you digging?

You can check out the Little Black Bag site here & see all of their current stock right now!

Reviva Labs 5% Glycolic Acid Night/Day Cream Review

April 9, 2012 By StephanieLouise 8302 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Freviva-labs-5-glycolic-acid-nightday.htmlReviva+Labs+5%25+Glycolic+Acid+Night%2FDay+Cream+Review2012-04-09+15%3A57%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2012%2F04%2Freviva-labs-5-glycolic-acid-nightday-cream-review.html

I am the first person to yammer your ear off about how skincare containing beneficial acids have completely changed my skin. Firmer, more balanced, & most importantly, much less acne & skin imperfections overall. Do I still get bumps here & there? Yep but nothing like before I introduced these products into my skincare routine. I wholeheartedly believe in the benefits!
That being said, as I think it needs to be, this product is fabulous. Light, effective, & didn’t harm my skin at all. In fact, it made it even better. I normally use a 10% cream so I was worried this wouldn’t be as…combative as I want. Although I now want to try the 10% cream, the 5% definitely did an amazing job of keeping my skin supple, moisturized, & removing that grime acids have a way of removing that nothing else can. Oh acids, I don’t care how crazy it sounds, acids make my skin much prettier.
What Reviva Labs says: (5% Glycolic Acid) An advanced glycolic acid (from sugar cane) that has been acclaimed for action on sun damaged skin and for improving skin texture. 100% natural. With unique glycolic polymer, used by professionals.

What I Say: Keep in mind that if you haven’t tried a skincare regime with some sort of acid in it, you can’t start at 10% because your skin has to build up a kind of tolerance to it. Why go with Reviva Labs? This doesn’t have any of the sneaky fillers like many other I’ve tried. It is 100% natural which is very important with this type of skincare item for me. With acidic products they often douse them in fragrance because the smell isn’t great. Not strong, but not great. Well, fragrances are about the only thing that tend to make me break out & you never know what will set it off. Well, & extremely oily products but that’s another story!
You can pick up a jar of Reviva Labs 5% Glycolic Acid Night/Day Cream off their website here. You get 1.25 oz for only $25 which will last you a crazy long time. One thing I’ve noticed with all my acidic cremes is a little goes a long way as you only need a then coat. I prefer to use this at night.

In case you guys are interested, here are all the ingredients for this product: Purified water, 5% glycolic acid polymer (extracts of sugar & rhubarb), extracts of pumpkin, peach, sage, comfrey, chamomile, witch hazel, vitamins A, D, E, safflower oil, & sunflower oil.
I would LOVE to hear about what some of your favorite skincare items are! Have you tried anything like this? I am completely addicted! Moisturizing my combo skin while battling breakouts can be oh so tricky!
