When it comes to nail polish, color is king. I can work with any kind of formula for a great color. Then…there are those polishes that hit home in all of the areas. Beautiful formula, shiny finish, gorgeous shades? Lancome has me hooked. On top of that, these are blues & a purple…I couldn’t ask for more. Check out the swatches & review of the Lancome Vernis in Love polishes below!

 photo LancomeSummerNailPolish201301_zps50213db5.jpg
 photo LancomeSummerNailPolish201302_zpsee6752fe.jpg

These shades come packaged in your standard Lancome packaging, nice silver boxes. Unfortunately, that is the only location the polish name is located. I’ve included numbers next to the shades below for reference since the number is on the bottom of the bottle for shade reference.

From Lancome: Inspired by the new trendy Rouge In Love lip collection, Vernis in Love is a high potency nail lacquer perfectly themed to compliment every woman’s mood and style. With ultimate brilliance, intense color, and a mistake-free application, your nails will love the lasting shine and pop of color that stays put for days.

Ultramarine Green 521- A creamy blue leaning turquoise. Perfect shade. 2 coats. Part of the Lancôme Aquatic Summer 2013 Collection.

Aqua Bleu 545- Creamy cornflower medium blue. It looks brighter here than in person. Gorgeous. 2 coats. Part of the Lancôme Aquatic Summer 2013 Collection.

 photo LancomeSummerNailPolish201308_zps3f52c870.jpg
 photo LancomeSummerNailPolish201307_zps8db89c97.jpg

Midnight Rose 441- A beautiful red toned berry. 2 coats. Part of the Part of the Lancôme Fall 2012 Collection.

All three shades were pretty fabulous, from application to wear. Each shade is a lovely cream with an awesome brush. When I first opened the bottles I wasn’t impressed, the brush looks average. However, upon application, I was very happy. These applied like butter & leveled out beautifully. I wore the shades for several days with nice wear as well. I could have gotten away with one medium coat if I wasn’t doing swatches, they’re very nicely opaque. Very impressed overall.

Do you own any Lancome nail polishes? Any shades I need to scope out next?

Suave 24 Hour Protection Everlasting Sunshine Deodorant Review

It isn’t very often I show a deodorant on my site. There has to be something pretty exceptional about it. Personally, I walk in & pick my deodorant by sight & scent. I know I know… not the most scientific am I? But for me, those are what convince me to purchase. Suave Everlasting Sunshine Deodorant is affordable, promises 24 hour protection, & has a great, unique scent. Keep reading to find out if it is for you!
Nouveau Cheap reviewed this scent in body wash form over a year ago (check out her review here) & I’ve been wanting to try it ever since. A banana/passion fruit/vanilla scented product? The Suave Everlasting Sunshine scent also comes in a body wash, lotion, shampoo & conditioner that I might need to scope out.

The deodorant itself is a great surprise. It applies thin & evenly, none of that residue yuckiness. I like the basic twist bottom on this as well. I really smell the banana & tropical scent with a base note of warm vanilla. I love this scent for summer especially!

Have you used Suave deodorant before? Does Suave’s Everlasting Sunshine scent sound like something you’d enjoy?

When it comes to body products I tend to go by scent. I’m one of those girls that uses things seasonally, candy apple is for winter & coconut is for summer. So what product do I use year round that has exceptional scents? Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrubs! I received one around winter in a travel size & have been hooked ever since! I have 3 scents/varieties & I’ll definitely be checking out the rest. I need to scope out some of their other products as well…shame on me for not doing that already right? I’ll break down each scent for you a bit below. These scrubs are some of my absolute favorites because they aren’t too scratchy yet they manage to make my skin feel like butter. They exfoliate so nicely & leave my skin smooth.

Have you tried any Tree Hut products? What are your favorite scrubs? Which scent appeals to you most?

We See Beauty Faye Toogood Collection for MAKE Review & Swatches

We See Beauty has a lovely collection of professional & wild makeup that easily blends into any cosmetic routine (see my first review from We See Beauty here). This review is featuring items from the new Faye Toogood collection. If you are interested in achieving matte, dewy or both on your skin then this is definitely the post for you! There are some definite hits in this collection that I think you’ll love! Keep reading to see some seriously innovative products.

 photo MakeWeSeeBeautyNewReviewSwatches01_zpsbade0332.jpg

We Se Beauty Faye Toogood Collaboration:
Known for her stark and poetic creations, London-based furniture and interiors designer Faye Toogood turns her eye to makeup, collaborating with artist Ayami Nishimura for the concept collection for MAKE.

Academically trained in the theory and practice of art, Faye collides a pure respect for the past and a self-expressed vulnerability of nature for the New Medieval Collection for MAKE. Sitting in her London studio, Faye shares her fascination with the unexpected destructive qualities of nature, the current flux of our society, and the way natural materials can convey a narrative of hope in color and textures.

 photo MakeWeSeeBeautyNewReviewSwatches06_zps40de39b2.jpg
 photo MakeWeSeeBeautyNewReviewSwatches07_zpsf83f10c8.jpg

Matte Finish Eyeshadows in Sulfur & Warm White- A matte primary vibrant yellow & a matte white with linen undertones. I loved the eyeshadows I reviewed here but these shades are just as gorgeous. I haven’t ever found a matte yellow (or possibly a yellow period) that I like this much. The white also makes a great base for brighter shades. I think maybe an eyeshadow look needs to happen with these two soon!

 photo MakeWeSeeBeautyNewReviewSwatches03_zps9c8d34bb.jpg

Custom Finish Effects Duo in Matte/Dew- Using your fingertips, apply peach formula to areas in need of shine control or matte finish, and the pink formula to areas in where you want moisture or a dewy finish. Can be used over makeup, and applied frequently without caking.

This is probably the most innovative summer product to cross my beauty desk in a long time. The ability to easily blend & apply a matte or dewy finish to the face with an ultra thin cream is amazingly easy. If you love both matte & dewy skin, this product is for you.

 photo MakeWeSeeBeautyNewReviewSwatches05_zps8de04f64.jpg

Make Face Gloss- Brightening and subtly illuminating Face Gloss refreshes tired and dull skin in a vitamin-rich formulation that is colorless, enhances skin appearance, balances and maintains moisture. Perfect for wearing on natural skin or as a soft luster finish over foundation and powder.

For those just looking for a glossy/dewy look, this product will be more your style. With a convenient squeeze tube you have lots of control for application. Applying with your fingertips lightly will help to warm up the product a bit for a perfect finish. You can go subtle or full gloss.

 photo MakeWeSeeBeautyNewReviewSwatches04_zps8e8e577a.jpg

Luminous Lip Gloss in Flesh- A warm salmon pink with a yellow undertone. Beautifully pigmented & gives my lips a flawless look. Really a standup gloss.

 photo MakeWeSeeBeautyNewReviewSwatches08_zpsd9e93697.jpg
 photo MakeWeSeeBeautyNewReviewSwatches09_zps54c92f9a.jpg

Swatches left to right- Custom Finish Matte/Dew, Face Gloss, Luminous Lip Gloss in Flesh, Matte Eyeshadows in Sulfur & Warm White.

You can purchase the We See Beauty Faye Toogood Collection items featured here on the website.

Want to see a polish that totally blew my mind? Feast your pretty eyes on Lush Lacquer’s Clowning Around. I bought this off Etsy because I absolutely needed it in my life. I’ve seen so many bloggers come up with beautiful combinations with this glitter combo but for these swatches, white was definitely the winner. Keep reading to see more pictures!

Lush Lacquer Clowning Around- A mixture of small, medium,  & large hexes in hot pink, lime green, bright blue, bright yellow, bright orange, & purple suspended in a clear base. All of the glitters pop neon & layer nicely because they are somewhat sheer. Seen here is 2 coats somewhat sponged on plus a top coat over Wet n Wild French White Creme.

 photo LushlacquerClowningAroundNailPolish02_zps6bc401ee.jpg
Love this combo. Obsessed. I bought mine off Etsy in a full size bottle along with a few other shades. I really like the bottle, it feels very professional & heavy. I also didn’t have an issues pulling glitter, tons of it in there & the base it is suspended it is great!

 photo LushlacquerClowningAroundNailPolish03_zpsb5d6efb3.jpg

This shade definitely pops the most over white but I can’t wait to try it over other shades! I think it is going to be really spectacular.

You can purchase Lush Lacquer’s Clowning Around & other shades on Etsy.

With all of the fabulous blushes on the market today, how do you choose a new one? I go for color, pigmentation, & wear. Does it blend out evenly? Will it last through the winter wind & the summer heat? Is the color a good match for me or just something I’ll reach for here & there? It Cosmetics managed to create a powder blush stain that has impressed me majorly. Keep reading to find out why!
From It Cosmetics: Vitality Cheek Flush is a cheek stain infused into a powder! Developed with plastic surgeons, this hydrating, brightening, and antiaging blush gives the perfect naturally pretty flush of color to the cheeks and lasts. This truly innovative formula contains It Cosmetics’ Hydra-Luxe technology, including ingredients such as plum oil, cherry oil, hyaluronic acid, pomegranate, seaweed extract, grape seed, aloe, and jojoba that all work together to treat, hydrate, condition, and nourish your skin. Plus, Vitality Cheek Flush is packed with antioxidants, including vitamins A, C, and E, acai, green tea, and white tea. Talc, paraben, sulfate, mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrance, and phthalate free. Hypo-allergenic and non-comedogenic. Made in the USA.

 photo ItCosmeticsVitalityBlushSweetApple06_zps805a74f9.jpg

 photo ItCosmeticsVitalityBlushSweetApple01_zps9c8a53b1.jpg

The packaging on these blushes are quite nice with a black rubber type finish (similar to NARS) & is compact enough for travel. You get 3.87g of product & it is made in the USA. You also get a nice little mirror inside the compact.

 photo ItCosmeticsVitalityBlushSweetApple05_zps5ac049be.jpg

I really like using the It Cosmetics French Boutique Blush Brush to apply & blend out the blush. The bristles are dense enough to pick up the product but not too dense that you apply too much. It is really soft & not too big either. I also love the packaging, so nice!

 photo ItCosmeticsVitalityBlushSweetApple03_zpsb872820b.jpg
 photo ItCosmeticsVitalityBlushSweetApple02_zps65b6e720.jpg

This is a very pigmented red toned pink. The other 3 shades in this line are all shimmers so if you want a matte, this is the one for you! This blush lasts ages & doesn’t make my dry skin look dull even though it is matte.

It Cosmetics Vitality Cheek Flush Powder Blush Stain & Brush retails for $24.00 and is available on the It Cosmetics website as well as at QVC and in Canada at theshoppingchannel.com.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish Swatches + Review Part #2

June 14, 2013 By StephanieLouise 404Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fsally-hansen-sugar-coat-nail-polish_14.htmlSally+Hansen+Sugar+Coat+Nail+Polish+Swatches+%2B+Review+Part+%2322013-06-14+17%3A42%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fsally-hansen-sugar-coat-nail-polish-swatches-review-part-2.html

 photo SallyHansenSugarCoatsSwatchesPart2MainPhoto_zpsa0ee3a20.jpg

So if you saw my swatches from the first half of this collection then you know I really enjoy them. There are some drawbacks but nothing that keeps me from using them. I even have some nail art coming up! These 4 shades from the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polishes are the primaries: red, blue, black, & white. Keep reading to see swatches & thoughts!

 photo SallyHansenSugarCoatsSwatchesPart201_zps68b731c0.jpg
 photo SallyHansenSugarCoatsSwatchesPart202_zpsdfc8cf72.jpg

Sugar Fix- Excellent bright white. 2 coats. Super easy to apply. I’m actually really excited…I didn’t expect it to apply this nicely.

 photo SallyHansenSugarCoatsSwatchesPart206_zpsad67c44e.jpg
 photo SallyHansenSugarCoatsSwatchesPart206_zps1cd46a6d.jpg

Razzle-berry- Brightened medium blue. 2 coats. This is a lovely shade & it is brighter than it looks here in photos. This stained around my cuticles.

 photo SallyHansenSugarCoatsSwatchesPart208_zps4b658d9c.jpg
 photo SallyHansenSugarCoatsSwatchesPart207_zps4cf19710.jpg

Lick-O-Rich- A rich black. 2 coats. Perfection. Sorry it looks a bit shiny. Without lighting/flash you couldn’t really see the texture. This one applies really nicely.

 photo SallyHansenSugarCoatsSwatchesPart204_zps31a6b6ea.jpg
 photo SallyHansenSugarCoatsSwatchesPart203_zps9ec375b4.jpg

Cherry Drop- A bright warm red. 2 coats. This one seemed thinner (notice the VNL) & for some reason it took forever to dry down. This might just be my bottle but it dries down better when I use it in nail art than in actual swatches. This shade also stained around my cuticles.

Don’t forget to check my swatches of the more spring-y shades. I like these shades more for the nail art perspective while I wear those on their own. I hope they come out with more from this line with this formula. I’d love to see some shimmers like the Zoya Pixie Dust shades I love so much!

I stick by what I said in my last review: These are very textured, apply grainy, & definitely won’t be for everyone. You apply them without a top coat to keep the texture but I haven’t had issues using a light base coat. It is totally necessary if they are staining shades as well. Again, these shades last very nicely but I don’t keep them on for more than 2-3 days even if they still look good. I find stuff clings to them & if you bake/paint/do something else a bit messy you really have to work to get these clean because it embeds itself a bit. Ew. Just keep that in mind.

What do you think of these shades? Do you prefer them to the spring ones? Are you over texture polishes yet?

Too Faced Intense Eye Shadow in Violet Femme Swatches & Review

June 14, 2013 By StephanieLouise 405Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Ftoo-faced-intense-eye-shadow-in-violet.htmlToo+Faced+Intense+Eye+Shadow+in+Violet+Femme+Swatches+%26+Review2013-06-14+13%3A45%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Ftoo-faced-intense-eye-shadow-in-violet-femme-swatches-review.html

 photo DSCN6517_zps54ef4603.jpg
I bought it. Affiliate links.

Love purples? Me too. In fact it is a bit unhealthy. I just adore purple everything. This is my first Too Faced single eyeshadow purchase & after much swatching I knew it needed to come home with me. There are some other shades I have my eye on but I’m happy to say this is my first. If you love purple, shimmer, & something a bit different you’ll likely dig Too Faced Exotic Color Intense Eye Shadow in Violet Femme too.

 photo DSCN6507_zpse879fc97.jpg
 photo DSCN6509_zps2911a8dd.jpg

The packaging itself is quite the standard from Too Faced. Ultra fair pink & gold is what I’ve come to expect. The eyeshadow itself looks like an abstract black flower. I definitely appreciate the peek window so I can see the shade. Pretty but simple. If you are used to square/rectangle shadows this might be a bit of a challenge to store. I took it showing my nail so you can see the size reference. This isn’t all that big.

 photo DSCN6512_zpsa8565818.jpg

When you first pick up this shade, it doesn’t look all that spectacular. It looks like a pretty violet with slight shimmer. Pretty but not out of this world.

 photo DSCN6521_zpse6d321a5.jpg
 photo DSCN6516_zps79433b1e.jpg

Swipe your finger over the shadow for the first time & you’re off to wonderland. The sheen beneath is absolutely crazy! When it hits the light there is not doubt that the gold shines through. It isn’t crazily pigmented but that is actually what I like about this particular shade.

 photo DSCN6528_zpse0caa27f.jpg
 photo DSCN6526_zps6cbb1b33.jpg

When applied, I find you get fallout. Both of the swipes above (one is a heavier swatch while the other is sheered out) are applied dry. I’ll be doing an eye look with this shade wet which is when it really shines. This shade in general applies better wet, spongetip, fingertip, or with a firm brush.

I seriously love this color & only wish I had bought it during spring! I think it is going to be really pretty with some of my bronze shades as well though!

Have you tried this color? Any other Too Faced eyeshadow singles I need in my life?

Joyful Noise Cosmetics Firefly Nail Polish Collection Swatches & Review

June 13, 2013 By StephanieLouise 4061 Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fjoyful-noise-cosmetics-firefly-nail.htmlJoyful+Noise+Cosmetics+Firefly+Nail+Polish+Collection+Swatches+%26+Review2013-06-13+13%3A45%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fjoyful-noise-cosmetics-firefly-nail-polish-collection-swatches-review.html

Confession: I’m totally obsessed with Nathan Fillion. From his stint on Buffy to his current role on Castle he’s just too amazing. One of his best projects was Firefly ( & later on, Serenity) & although it was cut short…it holds a special place in my heart. When Laura of Joyful Noise Cosmetics asked me if I’d swatch her trio I was thrilled. I am late late late with these swatches…but I sure hope they were worth the wait!
Each shade is named after a quote from Firefly. If you haven’t seen the show & you’re into scifi (or Nathan Fillion….) then jump into that & educate yourself! All three of the shades definitely have their own personality. Besides these shades being from the same collection…they’re all vastly different! Each of these shades is a mini but they’re also available in full sized bottles.

 photo FireflyTrioJoyfulNoiseSwatches012_zpscc6fc5a0.jpg
 photo JoyfulNoiseFireflyTellMeImPretty_zps52b22f9f.jpg

Tell Me I’m Pretty- A semi sheer bubblegum pink base with a scattering of holo dust & varying micro to medium shades of pink hexes. 2 coats over Essie Fiji. Very girly & oh so pretty. I like it over a base best & Essie Figi is perfect, super fair & doesn’t alter the polish shade.

 photo FireflyTrioJoyfulNoiseSwatches011_zps252fb2b4.jpg
 photo JoyfulNoiseFireflyShiny_zpsae74d96f.jpg

Shiny- Multi colored ultra fine shimmer that leans more blue/purple/pink that comes together as an opal finish. I’m not usually a big fan of opal finishes but I actually really like this one. It flashes more over black but I am really digging it over white! Pointer & pinkie are 3 coats, middle is one coat over black, & ring is one coat over white.

 photo FireflyTrioJoyfulNoiseSwatches013_zps1153ffff.jpg
 photo JoyfulNoiseFireflyBurntheLandBoiltheSea_zps0c159602.jpg
 photo FireflyTrioJoyfulNoiseSwatches015_zpseff7fb54.jpg
 photo FireflyTrioJoyfulNoiseSwatches014_zpsbca223c8.jpg

Burn the Land, Boil the Sea- Medium very reflective silver holo hexes, fine blue glitter, & holo dust in a  sheer blackend base. 2 coats over black. My favorite because I’m such a sucker for super holo glitter. Along with the layering of blue & fine holo dust this polish is gorgeous. Boil the sea indeed!

For those of you who don’t know, Joyful Noise (formally Nails by Laura) was the first indie polish brand I’ve ever reviewed. I think we were both newish to our professional passions & I feel like we’ve kind of grown together. I now consider her a friend which is how she even knew I dug Firefly. To be fair, I was one of the people chanting for her to start obsessing about Dr. Who. I sincerely hope she’ll create a Dr. Who inspired line…& maybe even let me help! As into makeup & fashion as I am I am definitely a geek girl at heart.

To purchase Joyful Noise Cosmetics nail polishes ( & other beauty items like lippies & bath products!) you can visit her store on Etsy. She has quite a few new polishes that I’m jittering over! Summery too! She has these 3 shades labeled as limited edition so if you want them grab them while you can!

Which shade is your favorite? Are you a Firefly fan? What show/books/movies would you like to see turned into a polish line?

Ready for a nail polish indie? It has been awhile hasn’t it! This was the first polish I ever purchased from Mod Lacquer & I’m quite happy that I get to share it with you tonight. I don’t think I need to explain what drew me to this polish…I just love it. This is bright summer lights in a bottle!

Mod Lacquer Technicolor Noise- Micro hexes in bright blue, lime green, extra small hexes in tomato red, then small to medium lime green, bright blue, & hot pink hexes suspended in a clear base. Top coat is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri & the black base is Wet n Wild Black Creme.

The first thing I want to say is wow. It is gorgeous & I seriously took like 50 photos. Application was a breeze. This is 2 coats over black with a top coat. I did a few light sponging here & there for perfect glitter placement. I’ve had this shade for almost a month & it hasn’t settled. I am so impressed with this base.

This glitter combination is absolute perfection & the red really makes it pop. I would’ve never thought to add it myself! The bottle shape & brush are also quite nice. You can see other shades I hauled in this post along with some Shimmer Polishes.

I am wowed. I am more than happy. & I had a really hard time taking it off not because it is a glitter but because I could wear it for ages. You can purchase this shade & others from the Mod Lacquer Etsy shop. I bought a full size but she also has minis available. She also has a new summer collection which I’d really love to get my claws on! There are also some stunning shimmers although I am just head over heels for the glitters.
