The Sephora Favorites or All-Stars kits are always some of my favorites. Remember this lip set I reviewed recently that was a total steal? Anyway if you love trying lots of new things at a great value these sets are often a steal. This Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip Sampler set in particular contains 4 FULL SIZED lip products! All together you get 16 lip products in lots of different shades, finishes, & textures. Lots of variety at a bargain? Keep reading to see what I think!

 photo SephoraFavoritesGiveMeMoreLipSetReview01_zps10b91c25.jpg
 photo SephoraFavoritesGiveMeMoreLipSetReview02_zps532b22ac.jpg

The packaging & entire idea behind this kit is really great. The cover is just a slip with some pretty cutouts to show the metallic pink box behind. You see all of the products on the front along with the price being $59 with an overall value of $209 US. There are 16 lip products total (plus a mini lip brush from OCC!) & they are grouped into 4 sets of 4 colors: red, pink, neutral, & berry. All of these brands are available at Sephora & considered prestige so there is a nice, wide variety.

The photos below are swatched on bare skin. The swatch photos below has the first in natural light & the second with flash. & yes, I really am that pale!

 photo SephoraFavoritesGiveMeMoreLipSetReviewSwatchesReds_zps417db969.jpg

Reds swatches left to right- Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Pomegranate, Hourglass Cosmetics Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon, Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural N45, Kat Von D Foiled Love Lipstick in Adora.

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Pomegranate is easily a favorite, these Bite pencils twist up & have a creamy pigmentation that I adore. These apply like a pencil so you have a lot of control which is great since it is a classic red. Lovely, I really want more from this brand.

The Hourglass Cosmetics Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon is my first Hourglass gloss that isn’t a nude/light shade which is exciting. The color is gorgeous & this liquid lipstick applies like a gloss making it really easy to get an even application. I prefer 2 layers, as shown above. This is a bit drying for me though so I definitely prefer it topped with a gloss.

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural N45 is way more sheer than I expected, I didn’t know Natural in the name went that light. Applies evenly but isn’t as comfortable as some although sheer. For something so light it actually lasts quite awhile! This might be nice for a party since I wouldn’t have to worry about it as much.

A shade I don’t think I’ll reach for much is the Kat Von D Foiled Love Lipstick in Adora. The sample is really small so I’m pretty scared of being clumsy & snapping it but mainly the shade doesn’t look great on me. This is a coppery metallic red. This isn’t a glossy shade, true metallic. I guess I could wear it to a holiday party but I don’t think I’ll reach more it much despite my love of copper.

 photo SephoraFavoritesGiveMeMoreLipSetReviewSwatchesPinks_zps2c296a0b.jpg

Pinks swatches left to right- Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream in Marshmallow Bunny, Kat Von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in Backstage Bambi, Smashbox Lip Gloss in Pout, Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Never Say Never.

The Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream in Marshmallow Bunny has been on my list to buy for awhile now & I’m super excited to own it now! This formula is moisturizing & very creamy making this pink extremely easy to wear & has nice gold metal packaging that has a bit of heft.

This is my first Kat Von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick & the shade is in Backstage Bambi. This is a really hot pink which is a light liquid formula & it dries down really quickly. Although it smells like plastic this one is pretty much kiss proof & has a really comfortable formula.

Smashbox Lip Gloss in Pout I actually have had a sample of before & although pleasant on the lips it doesn’t show up much. I use it more as a clear over other pinkish shades honestly.

Another full size is the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Never Say Never which is an awesome & very new to me formula. I have multiple Bare Minerals glosses…but no lipsticks like this! Really cool button opening, lovely shade that isn’t too bright or neutral for me personally, & actually smells pleasant. Hydrating formula but not too slick so it lasts quite awhile.

 photo SephoraFavoritesGiveMeMoreLipSetReviewSwatchesNeutrals_zps9fbc10cb.jpg

Neutrals swatches left to right- Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Nylon Nude, Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Naked, Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lip Color in Dolce, Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian.

I have lots of Smashbox love so the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Nylon Nude was exciting! This shade is very creamy & although it looks way too dark on me I find it a nice base for glosses or really sheered out. I wanted this one so I’m psyched this is a full size!

Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Naked is a sheer nude gloss but is super comfortable to wear & apply. I like it as a nude gloss topper since matte nudes tend to look flat on me personally. This would be a great purse gloss since it would slightly nude anything but not too intensely.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lip Color in Dolce is super long wearing…but just not attractive on my skintone. I have a red version & enjoy the ultra-light formula but this color can only be a base for me & the scent is really unappealing to apply.

The Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian is again a fabulous formula & the color is more of a pink toned milky shade. I don’t like milky lips on myself usually so I’ll have to play around with this a bit more.

 photo SephoraFavoritesGiveMeMoreLipSetReviewSwatchesBerries_zps7a8c7e6c.jpg

Berries swatches left to right- Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Sonya, Buxom Full-Bodied Lip Stick in Menace, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Strumpet, Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick in Inspired.

My least favorite sample packaging goes to the Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Sonya. Very small but also doesn’t twist all the way down (like the Fergie lipsticks) & it wasn’t secured into the tube very well. I assume that has something to do with the formula. I’ll probably break this, I won’t lie. I like this color & the feeling isn’t unbearable or anything but I was expecting it to feel more weightless & balmy while is feels heavier than most in this set.

The Buxom Full-Bodied Lipstick in Menace is more of a wine type berry which was a nice change in this set! I really love this shade, especially for fall, & it was comfortable as all get out without fading weird at all. I’d definitely consider keeping an eye out for a full size from this line!

I love Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics & was already planning to buy this Lip Tar in Strumpet! Money saved! If you aren’t aware, these usually come with a mini brush & you only need a tiny pinprick to cover your whole lips. I love the peppermint scent, ultra pigmentation, & these last really well on me as well. This is a more red raspberry type shade which I enjoy on my lips. My only issue with these is that you need to be PRECISE with application but it is totally worth it for me!

This Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick in Inspired is really comfortable to wear but doesn’t exactly…seem berry to me at all…kind of a mauve-y pink. The formula is what stands out but this sample is very tiny which is kind of cute but also frustrating to apply. I do believe these are supposed to be long wearing…but I only get a few hours.

Again, this set retails for $59 with an overall value of $209 US from Sephora. You can purchase this online at the Sephora website. With 4 full-sized lip products, I consider this a steal! Even if you just wanted a couple…how cool would this be to break up into gifts or give as a gift to a makeup lover? I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying this set!

What do you think of these shades? Any catch your eye? Anything you’d like me to include in a tutorial or video look? Hope you’re having an awesome day!

PR Sample. Affiliate links.

I’m really excited to show you the Beauty Box 5 box for this month, it is definitely one of my favorites! I have 5 items & they’re all things I’m interested in using which is always a plus! Plus…a full sized lipstick?! Woo! Keep reading to see what is inside!

 photo OctoberBeautyBox5UnboxingHaulBB5Review04_zps596bd398.jpg

This month we have a body lotion, toe separators (which I consider a tool), nail polish, lipstick, & some facial cleansing wipes. So that’s a body product, tool, nail product, makeup item, & a skincare item. Beauty Box 5 does a really great job with variety, always happy with that!

 photo OctoberBeautyBox5UnboxingHaulBB5Review01_zpsd6d93b0f.jpg
 photo OctoberBeautyBox5UnboxingHaulBB5Review02_zpsdf96f0e3.jpg

Here are the included cards for this month. If you click on the image it will enlarge so you can read them more clearly if you want more information.

 photo OctoberBeautyBox5UnboxingHaulBB5Review05_zps3db244b8.jpg

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion- This is a 1 fl oz lotion, great for my purse! It isn’t super thick or rich so maybe not best for my extra dry skin this time of year but nice for day to day. I also like that it is fragrance free, perfect for my purse since I’m usually wearing a fragrance of some kind.

Swissco Glitter Toe Separators- Really cute & super glittery! I already have some I’m using currently so I’m saving these for a little girl in the future. I’m constantly doing other people’s nails so these will be a fun surprise!

LA Fresh Travel-Lite Facial Cleansing Wipes- LOVE travel wipes. I’ve gotten quite a few from LA Fresh & have been saving them for travel. You get 8 in this pack & I keep them in my purse for melting makeup or touchups. Also great for post-workout!

Nubar Alter Ego Nail Lacquer in Kristal- How pretty is this polish!? I love the iridescence & the formula is nice & even when applied. I swatched it below next to the lipstick so you can see how pretty it is!

 photo OctoberBeautyBox5UnboxingHaulBB5Review06_zps2dd2a30e.jpg

Model Co Lipstick Couture in Sunset- A full sized lipstick? This pays for the box this month already! Retailing for $17 this is a really nice color as well. I love the mirror on the outside & the white plastic packaging is sturdy. This is a muted orange toned coral which makes it easy to wear pretty much year round. I consider these types of lip colors neutral perfection for fall because it isn’t too bright & is moisturizing. No shimmer in this, just moisturizing & semi-sheer with buildable coverage.

 photo OctoberBeautyBox5UnboxingHaulBB5Review07_zps4bb46325.jpg

How pretty are these swatches? Lovely right? Really a very “me” box this month, very happy overall!

You can subscribe to Beauty Box 5 monthly for $12 a month, $30 for 3 months ($10 a month), or even $99 a year (only $8.25 a month!) which is a pretty darn good set of deals if you ask me! You receive 5 samples monthly & it has helped to introduce me to lots of new brands to play with!

What do you think of this box? Anything you want full reviews on? What did you get in your box this month?

Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette Swatches & Review

October 18, 2013 By StephanieLouise 286Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Furban-decay-vice-2-palette-swatches.htmlUrban+Decay+Vice+2+Palette+Swatches+%26+Review2013-10-18+20%3A09%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Furban-decay-vice-2-palette-swatches-review.html

 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewSwatchesMainPic_zps7d9f16df.jpg
I bought it. Affiliate links.

Urban Decay kills it when it comes to eyeshadows in my opinion. I own quite a few palettes from the brand but one of my absolute favorites is the original Urban Decay Vice. I haven’t heard anything but regrets from people who didn’t pick it up & I honestly use it so much more than I thought I would. I’m pretty sure Urban Decay was bombarded with demands for a 2nd version & they delivered! Hoorah! All hail the Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette! From the packaging to the pigmentation to the shades themselves…I have a lot of thoughts on this palette so keep reading!

 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewPackagingOrchid_zpsd3d683f8.jpg
 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReview03_zps6a66efa9.jpg

If I had to pick something about the original Urban Decay Vice palette that I’d change it would have been the exterior packaging. I love the push button open & the fact that the mirror area actually stands up instead of going limp. I know a lot of people are big fans of Nars-esque type packaging which is probably why they went with it. I find that it attracts more dust/fallout so when I heard about this new palette I crossed my fingers. Prayers granted!

Not only is this packaging more sleep (in my personal opinion obviously) but also it is completely original! Every single palette is different because they used a special printing process so your palette is one of a kind! Plus…ORCHIDS! For those that don’t know, I absolutely adore orchids & even have them tattooed on my shoulder. Love it! Plus the bejeweled UD is just a fun touch. The first photo is of the cardboard exterior packaging & the purple is the actual palette. Yours won’t look exactly like mine because they’re all unique but you get the idea! If you look closely you can see some of the petals & the layering is just lovely.

 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReview05_zps06f610e5.jpg
 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReview04_zps3c235ab6.jpg

I’m not going to compare too much between the original Urban Decay Vice because I’m planning on doing a complete post on that but this is definitely more of a smoky palette. You have 20 eyeshadows, a very generous mirror, & a very useable double-ended eyeshadow brush. The first photo above is in natural, slightly shaded light & the second is with flash.

I find these eyeshadows really look different with flash & allow you as a reader to really see the details like the shimmer & such. You’ll see my photos of the eyeshadows on the left is is natural light & on the right with flash so you can see the differences since many of these shades have shimmer that is a bit hard to catch just in natural light. You see these kinds of shifts a lot more on the eye obviously since it moves & hits different angles. You’ll notice some swatches have angled shots & some don’t, for me that is to shoot the shifting shades correctly so you can see all their glory!

 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewSmokeoutLovesickPrankampMadness_zps94786426.jpg
 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewSwatches01_zpsbbebca52.jpg

Swatches left to right: Smokeout (very deep blackened brown satin), Lovesick (matte brown with silver micro-glitter), Prank (deep matte navy with lots of turquoise shimmer), & Madness (metallic medium blue).

I really like Smokeout & when i compare it to other shades you can see more of the brown. My favorite thing is the pigmentation & texture. Lovesick is just okay, not as silky & has some glitter fallout. Prank is definitely a favorite & feels like a more refined & smoky way to play with a mermaid-esque shade. Madness looks way lighter in these pictures because it catches the light, it is a lot more wearable in person.

 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewRadarDamagedDopeampToxic_zps9e2b3d23.jpg
 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReview022_zps8b7053a2.jpg

Swatches left to right: Radar (metallic rich brown with micr-shimmer), Damaged (vibrant emerald shimmer with a smoky base), Dope (slightly peach toned champagne satin), Toxic (metallic copper/pink).

Radar looks kind of odd in the pan but I assure you it applies incredibly smooth, not sure why it is visibly different. Damaged is incredible, so vibrant while being very smoky. Dope is the perfect highlight for both the browbone & inner corners. It draws light but doesn’t have fallout or glitter. Not over the top. Toxic is such a unique shade & is probably on of the few copper/pink shades I’ve seen.

 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewShellshockCoaxStrikeampStash_zps2098cb32.jpg
 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReview021_zps70c9ec15.jpg

Swatches left to right: Shellshock (vibrant metallic silver), Coax (medium soft pink with golden shimmer), Strike (antique pale yellow gold shimmer), Stash (medium olive green with multi-colored shimmer).

Shellshock is a crazy pigmented silver & has great application. Coax is a pink I actually like which is rare in an eyeshadow! Strike is a nice gold that is a lot more user friendly than a bright gold. Stash is the perfect olive shimmer & looks so beautifully fall.

 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewVoodooBetrayalHabitampAmbush_zpsbb88d00e.jpg
 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewSwatches02_zpsb97b7207.jpg

Swatches left to right: Voodoo (smoky purple base with purple micro shimmer), Betrayal (vibrant purple satin with a blue shift), Habit (matte creamy light nude), & Ambush (metallic bronze shimmer).

I absolutely love purple so I was excited that they put two in this palette that are completely different! Voodoo is a smoky, sultry shade while Betrayal is more fun with that vibrant shift! Habit is just the best shade for me, very similar to my Wet n Wild Creme Brulee which can be used as a matte highlight or base shade. Ambush is a gorgeous brown with a great formula that looks more metallic on the eye.

 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewX-RatedDerailedPoisonampRewind_zpsc4e8e528.jpg
 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReviewSwatches03_zpsbef89b30.jpg

Swatches left to right: X-Rated (baby pink satin), Poison (charcoal metallic with multicolored shimmer), Derailed (medium metallic taupe-y brown), & Rewind (medium brown matte).

X-Rated is just a shade I won’t really use, it isn’t a bad color I just don’t reach for baby pinks on my eyes. Poison is a really great shade & I reach for it a lot more than Lovesick. Derailed is taupe therefore it is probably the most used non-basic shade for me. Taupe fo lyfe. & last but not least, Rewind is an awesome matte brown that goes with pretty much every shade.

 photo UrbanDecayVice2PaletteSwatchesampReview018_zps2a3f638d.jpg

Overall I’m very happy with this palette! It does cost $59 but wait! You might be thinking “Wow Stephanie, that’s crazy!” but this is honestly worth every penny for me! If you figure that every eyeshadow cost about $2.95 each & you don’t count the one of a kind packaging, big mirror, or the double ended brush that is more than reasonable for me. Personally, the only shades I don’t really see myself using are X-Rated or Lovesick but 2/20 really isn’t bad. My most used shades over the past 3 weeks are definitely the 2 matte shades Habit & Rewind & also Derailed, Dope as a highlight, & Stash because it really feels fall. Along with those particular shades some favorites are also Damaged, Voodoo, & Prank for some sultry pops of color.

You can purchase this palette from the Urban Decay website, Sephora, Ulta,& Macy’s for $59. This is a limited edition & will likely sell out so snap it up if you’re interested!

Udderly Smooth Kicks Dry Skin Out of the Picture!

Do you have dry skin? Maybe even eczema? Are you looking for something with little to no scent? Well then this review is definitely for you! Udderly SMOOth (ha that name lawl) products were originally designed for dairy cows but were so fabulous humans stole them for personal use. Okay…maybe that is extreme but really humans can’t let anyone have anything to themselves huh? All of the products I’m showing you today kill dry skin & totally saved me over the past few weeks. Keep reading to find out why you need these in your life!

 photo UdderlySmoothLotionsforDrySkinReview02_zpsaddd85b8.jpg
 photo UdderlySmoothLotionsforDrySkinReview04_zps5468f4a1.jpg

Udderly Smooth Udder Cream– This is an ultra thick cream with barely any scent. I use this on my elbows & any spots that are ultra dry or have eczema. This cream doesn’t irritate the skin at all & actually soaks into the skin instead of sitting on top like some balms do. The bottle size is somewhere between a hand cream & body lotion size so I can throw it in my bag & will definitely be needing it for the cold, dry months ahead. Also…weird note…I’ve been nauseous & semi-sick recently (not pregnant, promise) & anything scented really made my head hurt. This was perfect!

 photo UdderlySmoothLotionsforDrySkinReview03_zps6eef4645.jpg

Udderly Smooth Body Cream– This is similar to the Udder Cream above but a bit thinner & in the tub format. I like this type of packaging for right after the shower when my hands are wet & I don’t need tubes flying out of my hands & all over the bathroom. This doesn’t leave me greasy & I actually don’t have to use as much product as some of my others to get better moisturization. This also has a really light & neutral scent so it doesn’t clash with perfumes & such.

Udderly Smooth Shea Butter Foot Cream– So rich & thick! This cream is an amazing overnight treatment with some fuzzy socks! I’ve been trying to repair some of the summer sandal damage so this was a savior. The scent is neutral so if your spouse happens to need some too…no problemo! If you happen to have a significant other like mine you might have to wait until they are dead asleep but this product definitely works while being a very neutral scent.

You can purchase Udderly Smooth products from Walgreens, Drugstore.com, & the Udderly Smooth website. Everything is really reasonably priced so these are a bargain. Who knew cows had such great taste?

I feel like copper can totally be a year round shade but I break it out a lot more during the fall. Doesn’t it just go with all of the fall shades perfectly? Did you see my post on Sephora by OPI in Lights, Glammer-a, Action! If you did then you probably know about the amazing sale currently on this line at Sephora & how much I love the jewelry topcoats. Today I show you a shade that is both a bargain & really pretty!

Here it is with some Butter LONDON Matte Finish Topcoat. Pretty & crisp for fall! By the way, my base shade is from the Tracy Reese Fall 2013 Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Collection & is called Malbec. I reviewed & swatched it here along with Gold Roses with is a stunner!

I love this polish so much! Most shades that promise to be copper lean rose gold or bronze. Rose gold is great & so is bronze but they just aren’t copper! This shade specifically isn’t availible at the moment on the Sephora website BUT that doesn’t mean it won’t come back! There are lots of lovely polishes in this line & the current 3 bottles for $10 deal is definitely worth a look! If you have your heart set on this shade I suggest picking it up at your local Sephora store!

Cargo Limited Edition Vintage Escape Eye Palette Swatches & Review

October 11, 2013 By StephanieLouise 2922 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fcargo-limited-edition-vintage-escape.htmlCargo+Limited+Edition+Vintage+Escape+Eye+Palette+Swatches+%26+Review2013-10-11+13%3A17%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fcargo-limited-edition-vintage-escape-eye-palette-swatches-review.html

 photo CargoVintageEscapeEyePaletteFall2013EyeshadowsMain_zps1381376d.jpg

I bought it. Affiliate links.

On the search for fabulous fall eyeshadows I came across the Cargo Vintage Escape Eye Palette. She screams fall & if the shades themselves don’t give that away color names like “Hot Cocoa” or “Rustic” or even “Withered Leaves” should be a direct giveaway. With some matte shades, some shimmer, & satin I saw a nice variety with a pretty foolproof array of colors. Keep reading to see what I think!

 photo CargoVintageEscapeEyePaletteFall201301CamelLeatherPackagingExteriorCase_zps2aef8abf.jpg

The palette itself has really simple packaging. The exterior is a camel colored leather with a magnetic strip closure along the front to keep it shut. It doesn’t feel like it closes super securely but a lot better than nothing there at all. I like that it curls over the top which feels like a bit of extra grab. Cargo Cosmetics is printed in the right corner on the front in silver. The back has a clear, removeable sticker with basic information that can be removed. I do wish the actual palette name was printed somewhere.

 photo CargoVintageEscapeEyePaletteFall201303_zpsd7f3e641.jpg
 photo CargoVintageEscapeEyePaletteFall201302_zps0cd5a651.jpg

Inside there is actual black plastic casing around the eyeshadows. Most palettes use foam or cardboard so that was a pleasant surprise. This is way easier to clean. Each eyeshadow has the shade name printed below which I totally appreciate. No silly plastic coverings to hassle with or having to look somewhere else to see what shades I’m using. Inside you get a medium sized mirror, could be bigger but have definitely seen smaller. Inside is a double ended brush, one side an angled eyeliner/shadow brush & the other is kind of a small, thinner c-brush. It is an okay brush but not mind blowing. While traveling, this would be a decent nook for an eyeliner.

I swatched each eyeshadow below on bare skin. I apologize for the imperfections on my hands…new kitten wounds. I really wish I had another way to swatch but this is my spot 😉 The photos of the shadows themselves are grouped in sets of 4 from left to right in the palette. The first photo on the left is in natural light while the one on the right is with flash. Because these shades are more muted than a lot of those I feature (what…no teal or hot pink?!) I thought showing them both was really important because sometimes the light is what helps the shimmer hit the surface.

 photo CargoVintageEscapeEyePaletteFall2013EyeshadowsHarvestMoonCuddleCrispampHotCocoa01_zpsba8ee9cb.jpg
 photo CargoVintageEscapeEyePaletteFall2013Swatches01_zps75de3fb2.jpg

Swatched left to right: Harvest Moon (a very light cream satin & feels almost matte), Cuddle (neutral toned pink satin), Crisp (iridescent gold shimmer that applies like a satin), & Hot Cocoa (neutral milk chocolate matte).

Harvest Moon is clearly suuuper close to my pale skintone & works amazing in the inner corner for subtle highlighting or on the browbone. It doesn’t look shimmery & is just barely not completely matte. Cuddle is probably the only pink I’ve considered a neutral in ages since it doesn’t make my eyes look red & actually works with this palette. Crisp is fabulous & although it looks white in the palette it comes off as gold in the swatch & on the eye. Beautiful to highlight or top another shade with. Hot Cocoa actually looks warmer in the swatch for some reason but it is a basic, easy to use matte brown.

 photo CargoVintageEscapeEyePaletteFall2013Swatches02_zps97c0d27c.jpg

Swatched left to right: Frolic (taupe-y grey brown shimmer), Cinnamon (warm coppery brown shimmer & wet it is more metallic), Autumn (matte peach), & Withered Leaves (brown/green base packed with green shimmer).

Frolic is a nearly metallic taupe so obviously I absolutely love it. Cinnamon is really pretty & doesn’t have fallout. Autumn is a great matte shade which I can sheer out as a highlight or load onto the lid for a base. Withered Leaves is the only shade in this palette I don’t consider neutral because twig is more gunmetal to me. It is absolutely stunning & actually appears more complex on the eye.

 photo CargoVintageEscapeEyePaletteFall2013EyeshadowsTwigsBlackCrowRusticChestnut01_zps0236792b.jpg
 photo CargoVintageEscapeEyePaletteFall2013Swatches03_zps7090e8a9.jpg

Swatched left to right:  Twigs (blue toned grey metallic), Black Crow (soft matte black), Rustic (metallic copper), & Chestnut (deep matte brown).

I think Twigs is a beautiful gunmetal-esque shade but the name doesn’t seem fitting? Black Crow is the only dud in this palette for me because it just isn’t as smooth or pigmented. It does alright for darkening outter corners but not something I’d reach for often since it isn’t all that dark or easy to use. Rustic is easily one of my favorite shades in the palette, copper? Why yes, yes I do love that shade for fall! Plus it has great pigmentation. I didn’t have much hope for Chestnut after Black Crown but it is actually quite soft & pigmented. Nice dark shade that blends out or sets liner nicely.

If you’ve been looking for the perfect palette for fall that is mostly neutral, contains no glitter, & has mattes this could be it. The shades for the most part are buttery & easy to use. You can easily create work or fun looks that stick to the neutral side of things without having to think about it too much. With the exception of Black Crow, the mattes in this palette were a joy to try out. This is my first Cargo palette & I’m quite happy with the outcome!

This palette has a $140 value but retails for $39. For 12 nice sized shades of quite nice quality I think it is on par with other pricing. If you’re looking for something other than an Urban Decay Naked type palette I think you’d dig this as well. Keep in mind my swatches are without primer so they look even better with some!

This is a limited edition palette & I’m not finding it being sold everywhere currently. I did find the Cargo Vintage Escape Palette available from the Cargo website & Macy’s but you might check in stores since I bought mine at Ulta.

What do you think? What is your favorite fall palette this year? Have you seen anything similar?

Claire’s Graffiti Nail Polish Swatches & Review

October 10, 2013 By StephanieLouise 293Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fclaires-graffiti-nail-polish-swatches.htmlClaire%27s+Graffiti+Nail+Polish+Swatches+%26+Review2013-10-10+13%3A47%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fclaires-graffiti-nail-polish-swatches-review.html

 photo ClairesGraffitiNailPolishSwatchesReview02_zps2e2dcfbd.jpg

I picked this shade up at Claire’s awhile back on sale, I’m guessing they consider it a summer polish. Not me! I totally love neons with black & white glitter so this is just too cool to pass up. Keep reading to see more detailed swatches!

Claire’s Nail Polish in Graffiti- A neon highliter green based yellow packed with black micro hexes, small hexes, medium hexes, large hexes, black bar glitter, & white large hexes. 2 coats over OPI Alpine Snow. Dries matte so swatches include one coat of Out the Door.

I love that this base is sheer so I can go back & layer. I honestly didn’t have to do much, the glitter didn’t clump up all that much or leave many balding spots. Claire’s polishes can be hard to pin down so if you want this shade or something similar I suggest checking out your local Claire’s store. I’ll probably never get over the black & white glitter trend so I’m always excited to add something new to my collection!

Products for this post were provided by Revlon. All opinions are my own.

Ready for a Revlon overhaul? Revlon & BlogHer were kind enough to send me some products to review & demo for your guys. I have some nail products, eye shadows, eye liners, and foundations. After putting them through the ringer, putting together a pretty fall look, and playing around I have some final thoughts & lots of pictures to share! Oh…and a sweepstakes at the bottom! Woohoo! Keep reading to see more and participate!

Revlon ® ColorStay™ Longwear Nail Enamel
“Gel-like shine, no light required.”
I am a big fan of the Revlon ColorStay Longwear line (check out my past review + nail art!) and was more than happy to add some new shades to my collection. When using the Revlon ColorStay Gel-Smooth Base Coat & Gel-Shine Top Coat you can get up to 11 days of color then use your regular nail polish remover effortlessly. Presto chango & you’re on to a new shade without any damage to the nail! I love the base & top coats & use them frequently. The aforementioned shades are Sequin, Bold Sangria, & Red Carpet. All 3 apply effortlessly ( I used 2 coats but can usually get away with one!) over the base coat & have a brilliant shine after the topcoat.

On my index finger & pinky is Sequin (metallic silver), on my middle finger is Red Carpet (raspberry toned red), & Bold Sangria (red toned wine) is on my ring finger.

Revlon ColorStay™ 16 Hour Eyeshadow
“All day luxurious color that doesn’t crease, fade or smudge.”
I received three quads in the shades Sun Swept, Harmonious, & Free Spirit. While there is varied pigmentation & formulas, I find these are nice for daytime use. They seem to be very buildable so I recommend using the applicator included for denser application & then blending or highlighting with a fluffy brush. My personal favorite is Harmonious, which totally screams fall! Tutorial at the end of this post!

Revlon ColorStay™ Eye Liner
“Beautiful color that lasts all day.”
I have used Revlon ColorStay eyeliners for years, especially on my waterline. The formula is a bit stiff compared to some but that is what makes it so perfect to seal in for a long wearing look. You can create a fine or thick line, comes with a sharpener, & (my favorite part!) it is an automatic pencil. This is a steal for an eye liner that glides effortlessly on the waterline & I always have the shade “Black Brown” on hand.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped™ Crème Makeup
“Flawless finish, all day wear.”
This formula is whipped & buildable to full coverage. Promises all day comfort & 24 hour wear. If you know me then you know I absolutely love this foundation. I use this year-round for an easy full coverage look that doesn’t cake. Having combination/dry skin is really tough because most long wear type products cater to oily but this somehow keeps both spectrums of skin healthy! I can’t rave about this enough & I’ve bought 3 jars so far. Yes. Obsessed. This foundation also comes in a nice glass jar with a stopper (pictured above) to help keep everything in place.

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede™ Lipstick

“Instantly moisturizing; All day color.”

The Revlon Ultimate Suede Lipsticks promise to be instantly moisturizing, last all day, & contain nourishing ingredients like Shea butter, aloe and vitamin E. These are really lovely shades! Backstage is a pink toned cranberry, Muse is a vibrant pink, & Finale looks like kind of a mod orange-y red.

I decided to come up with a look where I could share some of my fall beauty tips for easy wearable eye shadow looks. For this look I decided to go with a traditionally colored (& a bit creative of course!) daytime look for fall using the Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow quad in Harmonious & my favorite Revlon ColorStay eyeliner in Black Brown. Switching to a brown or black/brown shade helps make this look less harsh in the daytime & a bit easier to get away with. It also blends out nicely using the darkest eye shadow shade which is a lovely brown.

To get the look start with the lovely green shade & pat along the lid. Take the peachy orange shade on your inner corner to brighten up. Apply a bit of the dark brown at the very edges. Repeat steps on your bottom lash line. Blend. Apply the lightest shade which is kind of oatmeal toned as your highlight. Apply your Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black/Brown to the inner rims & 2/3rds of the way across top lash line lightly. Sweep a bit of the brown eye shadow over to smudge out. This makes the line look softer.

So what do you think? I’d love to hear what your beauty tips & tricks are! Which favorite beauty tip secret would you like to reveal? Leave it in the comments below and you could win a $50 Visa gift card!

Ruby Wing Scented Color Changing Polish in Strawberry Shortcake & Doux Swatches + Review

October 8, 2013 By StephanieLouise 295Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fruby-wing-scented-color-changing-polish.htmlRuby+Wing+Scented+Color+Changing+Polish+in+Strawberry+Shortcake+%26+Doux+Swatches+%2B+Review2013-10-08+22%3A40%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fruby-wing-scented-color-changing-polish-in-strawberry-shortcake-doux-swatches-review.html

Have you ever used Ruby Wing nail polish? Color Club’s sister brand has created shades that change color in sunlight which is just too fun. I’ve always loved the idea of color shifts but sadly I haven’t had much luck. Ruby Wing blew my mind in comparison to all the others I’ve tried & I’m super excited to show you these fall perfect shades! I used Color club base coat & no top coat for thee swatches below.

 photo RubyWingCupcakeNailPolishColorChangingPolishReviewSwatchesDoux01_zps439cf105.jpg
Shade- Pink toned sheer beige with pink/purple shimmer.

 photo RubyWingCupcakeNailPolishColorChangingPolishReviewSwatchesDoux02_zps777a61f5.jpg photo RubyWingCupcakeNailPolishColorChangingPolishReviewSwatchesDoux03_zps8b0ce213.jpg
Sun- Greyed sheer purple with purple shimmer.

Ruby Wing Color Changing Polish in Doux- 3 coats. Sheer color. I really should have put this over white or maybe a lavender but I wanted to show it on its own so you can get a feel for the shade. It is really pretty in person but I’ll definitely layer it next time!

 photo RubyWingCupcakeNailPolishColorChangingPolishReviewSwatchesStrawberryShortcake02_zpse311db11.jpg
Shade- Clear with gold, holo, & light pink micro hexes. A bit gritty but lays evenly.

 photo RubyWingCupcakeNailPolishColorChangingPolishReviewSwatchesStrawberryShortcake04_zps635082a3.jpg
Sun- Pink/cranberry sheer base with gold, holo, & light pink micro hexes.

Ruby Wing Color Changing Polish in Strawberry Shortcake- 2 coats.I really absolutely love this shade. Nice glitter coverage & an even application, no balding which is often found in shades like this. I love it in the shade or sun & it definitely feel wonderfully fall! The holo beautifully pops!

 photo RubyWingCupcakeNailPolishColorChangingPolishReviewSwatchesMainShift_zps26cc0eec.jpg

These both smell SO good! To me, Strawberry Shortcake smells like my old school Strawberry Shortcake scented dolly & Doux smells like sweet fruit of some kind. I know that sounds a bit odd but I really like it! These are my first shades & I’m so happy with the shift, it is really fast once you hit the sunshine! The change is so fast which is completely different from the few other brands I’ve tried. Definitely impressive!

Color Club Fall 2013 Silver Lake & Williamsburg Swatches & Review

If you love winter-esque type shades then I think you will really dig this post! Although both of these shades are part of the Fall 2013 Color Club collection they remind me of cold weather. Love them both which is so nice! Keep reading to check them out!

Color Club Fall 2013 Silver Lake- An easy, very light grey cream. 2 coats + Color Club top coat.

 photo ColorClubWilliamsburgSwatchesReview02_zps31bf6998.jpg
 photo ColorClubWilliamsburgSwatchesReview01_zps2448e203.jpg

Color Club Fall 2013 Williamsburg- Dark navy base with blue glass flecks throughout. It looks almost black but the flecks are a nice bright blue. 2 coats + Color Club top coat.

Williamsburg is a new favorite, totally stunning. Absolutely glowing & classy. Silver Lake is so light I thought it was actually white when I first saw it! Nice shade to add to a collection. I really like the formula on both of these which is great, often lighter grey type shades aren’t my favorites!

You can purchase Color Club polishes online through shopcolorclub.com & in select Bed, Bath, & Beyond stores. You can follow Color Club on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, & Youtube. Enjoy!
