Plain Jane Beauty Mosaic Palette & Eyeshadows Swatches & Review

November 6, 2013 By StephanieLouise 267Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fplain-jane-beauty-mosaic-palette.htmlPlain+Jane+Beauty+Mosaic+Palette+%26+Eyeshadows+Swatches+%26+Review2013-11-06+14%3A21%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fplain-jane-beauty-mosaic-palette-eyeshadows-swatches-review.html

I love nifty palettes where you can move products around. I also love eyeshadows. With those two things out in the open I was really excited to check out Plain Jane Beauty & their eyeshadow situation. Keep reading to see what I think & the 2 quads of colors I have to review!

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview03_zpse2f5208b.jpg

Their setup is a bit different from Urban Decay or even a Z-Palette- they have little Square pegs on the bottom of the eyeshadows that pop into their palette. They call this a “lego” design which is quaite fitting. They also sell blushes, lip colors, & pressed foundations that will fit into these palettes. Some take up more room than others but I think it is a cool idea to mix & match all of your makeup into a handy, small case. The case itself is about as thick as my Samsung S3 (with a thin case on it) & shorter in length.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview02_zps76b8a022.jpg

So basically they sent two sets of 4 eyeshadows-  Jewelry Box & Stormy Skies. I’ll break these down some more below color wise but first let me tell you about the packaging & such. So the pans themselves are round but the connecter-lego type outside is square & the peg on the bottom is a rounded square. My main complaint is that the shade names are labeled with a clear sticker & number. These shades don’t have actual names so the number is very important. Unfortunately to put the product in the palette you have to remove the sticker or have it flail around & fall off. This is a bummer because I won’t know the actual shade numbers to repurchase. Bummer! I also think depotting these to put it in a z-palette would be really difficult, I wish they had the option to buy these just in the pans as well.

I’ve actually been saving this review for fall because I feel like this quad is definitely fall for me. The two lighter shades are just okay but the pink & cranberry shades are awesome. I love pink shimmer overlay type shades, you can throw this over a darker shade to add the pink shimmer or use as a flashy highlight. The cranberry shade is really pretty & quite metallic.

Plain Jane Pre-Fix Quad in Stormy Skies- Shades 1, 71, 62, & 20

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #1- Frosty white.

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #71- Gunmetal metallic.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview08_zps442c9de3.jpg

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #20- Matte black with fine silver shimmer.

Plain Jane Mosaic Eyeshadow in #62-Metallic silver.

 photo PlainJaneBeautyPaletteEyeshadowReview013_zpsb5069165.jpg
Left to right: Shades 1, 71, 62, & 20

I don’t reach for traditional smoky shades & this one was kind of a disappointment. The shade #71 is actually really beautiful & has quite nice pigmentation. The white & silver were okay but pretty hard. & the black? Yeah for one thing it barely comes off at all & none of the shimmer translates either.

Overall, these shades are quite hard. I had a lot more luck using these damp because they were hard to pick up with my brush on average because I have to keep going back for more product repeatedly. I like the idea of this palette but unfortunately I can’t put the shades I do like into a palette I would reach for more. A few of the shades are quite nice but I’d definitely need to try more, maybe even some brushes, before I give Plain Jane a thumbs up.

What do you think? You can purchase Plain Jane Cosmetics on their website here. Any shades catch your eye?

L’Occitane Shea Hand Care Products Review

November 5, 2013 By StephanieLouise 268Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Floccitane-shea-hand-care-products-review.htmlL%27Occitane+Shea+Hand+Care+Products+Review2013-11-05+18%3A11%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Floccitane-shea-hand-care-products-review.html

My hands are constantly in the public view- mostly you guys!  I am constantly scrubbing pots & pans, using loads of pure acetone, & have eczema to go along with it. Basically my hands aren’t ever where I want them to be smoothness & moisturization-wise. I mean, that’s life right? Sometimes life just happens & it happens to fall into my hands. I have a new not-so-secret weapon to share though- the L’Occitane Shea products. Keep reading to see why you need them in your life!

 photo LOccitaneSheaHandCareProductsReviewDrySkin04_zps83e099a1.jpg
 photo LOccitaneSheaHandCareProductsReviewDrySkin05_zpsc3328c97.jpg

Let’s start with the L’Occitane One Minute Hand Scrub since that is step one. You have 3.5 oz of product in a twist top jar & a little plastic spatula to scrape out product. This scrub contains organic sugar & shea oil plus it doesn’t contain parabens, synthetic dyes, or phthalates. This jar is pricey at $22 & you might be calling me crazy but listen up- this is the most moisturizing yet effective hand scrub I’ve used yet! The shea really helps soothe my eczema & nearly cracked areas of my hands while sloughing off the roughness. You don’t need much at all & I’ve been using it about once a week (on Monday mornings to start my week out right!) & have definitely seen a difference. I followup with the next two products.

 photo LOccitaneSheaHandCareProductsReviewDrySkin03_zpsf5b98d59.jpg

If you aren’t familiar with L’Occitane then you probably aren’t all that into hand lotion. I am. I have several of these nifty silver tubes throughout my purses/household & have used their lavender lotion before bed for over a year. The L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream is enriched with 20% shea butter & also contains coconut oil & honey + almond extracts. I personally don’t think this blend is for the normal handed folks out there- this is for dry hands. This is a bit thicker & richer than my other L’Occitane lotions & is perfect for the weather coming round the bend. This one takes some rubbing in because it is so thick but it is worth it- you’re left with oober soft hands & no greasy residue.

A completely new to me product is the L’Occitane Cuticle & Nail Cream. From L’Occitane- This cream contains soothing shea butter, anti-oxidizing carrot oil, softening honey, and antibacterial myrrh essential oil. Smooth over cuticles and nails before manicuring, to improve the appearance of hands. I normally use oils on my cuticles but this is actually a thinner lotion texture. I apply this last to target the cuticles & even my nails if they’re bare. I like that the applicator has a fine tip so that if I’m in a hurry I can just swipe it in the general nail area but if I’m taking my time I like to smooth it out with my brush. I’m not sure if I’m totally converted away from my oils but I do like that this doesn’t leave oily residue so it is perfect if I need to slap on gloves this winter or if I’m photographing asap.

 photo LOccitaneSheaHandCareProductsReviewDrySkin02_zpsdb73578f.jpg

Overall, the shea line from L’Occitane has really impressed me. I’ve been having loads of allergy issues lately & the shea is a really soothing, calm scent that doesn’t bother me at all. I always like the packaging of L’Occitane products & that I can’t actually read the ingredients. These don’t contain any of the baddies that I try to avoid on my skin so I’m always happy with that!

Have you tried anything from L’Occitane lately? Are you digging the shea line?

Profusion $1 5 Color Eyeshadow Palettes + Eyeshadow Look!

November 5, 2013 By StephanieLouise 270Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fprofusion-1-5-color-eyeshadow-palettes.htmlProfusion+%241+5+Color+Eyeshadow+Palettes+%2B+Eyeshadow+Look%212013-11-05+14%3A14%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fprofusion-1-5-color-eyeshadow-palettes-eyeshadow-look.html

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReviewmain_zps4e5cf431.jpg

I haven’t raved about a Profusion product in years! Profusion products are very budget friendly & they seem to pop up at my local Walgreens around the holiday season. This year I picked up 3 out of 4 (I went back for the 4th, they’re purples) 5 eyeshadow palettes & I’m super excited to show them to you today including a really easy eyeshadow look!

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview01_zpsacd922c9.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview02_zpsf7db37b3.jpg

Each eyeshadow palette contains 5 eyeshadows that can be used wet or dry, an applicator, & a sliver of a mirror below where the applicator is stored. Not bad packaging for $1 mind you. These palettes are labeled #1 – #4 so that is how I’ll refer to them below. All of these shades are satin/metallic/shimmer- no mattes here!

#2- Cool Toned Neutrals

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview03_zps81c7063b.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview04_zpsd3f81547.jpg

Left to right: Nude, champagne, brownish mink, cool dark brown, & bronze.

Overall these shades are more sheer, lighter, & clearly all neutral. I don’t fall the pigmentation I honestly think these were supposed to be like this. This set is ultra easy to use although the texture isn’t quite as nice on the whole as #3. If you want bold neutrals this won’t be for you.

#3- Fall Perfect Neutrals

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview05_zps1feeda07.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview06_zps220416a4.jpg

Left to right: Soft mink, bronze, softened green, smoky teal, & blue black satin.

This is by far my favorite I’ve bought! This palette is AH-mazing! Check out that easy pigmentation! Original shades & an actually interesting combination of shades. Not a dud here. The only thing missing is a true highlight shade but for $1 I can’t complain one bit!

#4- Colorful Shades

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview07_zps74744ab0.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReview08_zps20431bb2.jpg

Left to right: Bright yellow, medium pink, soft aqua, cornflower blue, & bold blue.

This yellow is super surprising, how nice is that right? 3 out of 5 shades are blues so if you dig blues you’ll like this!

 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReviewTutorialEyeLook03_zps01eab74e.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReviewTutorialEyeLook04_zps04f1af2b.jpg
 photo Profusion1TwinkleTwinkleEyeshadowpaletteSwatchesReviewTutorialEyeLook05_zpsabec0275.jpg

Here’s my eye look with the Profusion Palette #3 using only these shades except for a matte highlight from my Sonia Kashuk  Eye on Neutral Matte Palette.

Here’s my Monday Quick Hits & Misses with this palette & the awful Matte Top Coat if you want to see this more in person!

Like I said, I picked these up for $1 each at Walgreens…not sure where else these are available! Hope you liked my quick review & swatches…& I loved wearing this eye look out last night!

Sinful Colors Crystal Crushes Texture in Treasure Chest & Purple Gleam Swatches & Review

I am all about the texture trend (check out past reviews about the textured Zoyas, OPI, Wet n Wild, etc) & when I heard Sinful Colors was coming out with some of their own I squealed with excitement! The two colors I have to show you today are Treasure Chest & Purple Gleam…& I love them!
The formula on these shades has kind of a lighter texture, not a heavy duty grit. I applied Purple Gleam first & did two sheerer coats (although these are pretty darn opaque!) which covered really nicely. For Treasure Chest I did one thicker coat & found it applied much better than trying to apply it more sheer & it still dried down to a great texture finish.

Sparkle and glimmer this fall with SinfulColors shade collection: Crystal Crushes. It is a brilliant collection of gem-inspired nail polish shades with multifaceted 3D texture. Gorgeous matte colors flecked with a reflective pearl finish sure to dazzle your digits and make your heart skip a beat.  The Crystal Crushes collection features eight vivid shades sprinkled with an angel dust finish.  The colorful trend shades you love from SinfulColors!

 photo SinfulColorsTexturenailPolishTreasureChestampPurpleGleamSwatchesreview01_zpsfdc60d34.jpg

Sinful Colors Purple Gleam- A a slightly warm toned lilac that has purple/pink/blue shimmer/sheen that dries down to a matte, textured finish. 2 more sheer coats, no top coat.

 photo SinfulColorsTexturenailPolishTreasureChestampPurpleGleamSwatchesreview05_zps2abb340f.jpg

 photo SinfulColorsTexturenailPolishTreasureChestampPurpleGleamSwatchesreview06_zps7d83d1f9.jpg

Sinful Colors Treasure Chest- A green toned aqua that has a brightness with golden shimmer/sheen that dries down to a matte, textured finish. 1 even coat, no top coat.

* I’ve been wearing SinfulColors Treasure Chest on my nails for 5 days now without any chipping!!!*

These polishes aren’t as glittery/flashy as the Zoya Pixie Dusts but for $2.99 I think they’re quite impressive! I love the shimmer & although they aren’t in your face they are still absolutely lovely. If you don’t love the ultra-textured feel to some of the brands on the market then I think you’d also really like these! They don’t snag on things or get as dirty because they’re less gritty.

Where to Buy:  Exclusive to Walgreens Fall of 2013

Kryolan Cake Eyeliner in Green + My Easy Fall Eye Look

November 2, 2013 By StephanieLouise 273Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fkryolan-cake-eyeliner-in-green-my-easy.htmlKryolan+Cake+Eyeliner+in+Green+%2B+My+Easy+Fall+Eye+Look2013-11-02+13%3A00%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F11%2Fkryolan-cake-eyeliner-in-green-my-easy-fall-eye-look.html

 photo KryolanGreenCakeLiner04_zpsd1d18ad6.jpg

I picked up this Kryolan Cake Eyeliner awhile back in anticipation of fall. I love green & it seems like the next two months are alllll about the green. If you haven’t used a cake eyeliner before I’ll break it down some more below. Keep reading to see how I’ve been using it!

 photo KryolanGreenCakeLiner02_zps20053474.jpg
 photo KryolanGreenCakeLiner01_zpsf66b1212.jpg

Basically cake liners look like a shadow but you can use water or a mixing medium on them to create an easy to use liner. I have cake liners in various colors from a few brands but I splurged a bit on Kryolan to test out the quality. First of all, this is a really big pan! Usually my cake liners are smaller than a  MAC eyeshadow but this one contains 3.5 grams & is comparable to a Sugarpill eyeshadow size.

 photo KryolanGreenCakeLiner03_zps7e1aca8b.jpg

I like using a mixing medium (currently I’m using Ben Nye) to make cake liners last longer. I apply it straight to the back of my hand, dab a bit on a liner brush, then swipe the product itself. You might need a bit of practice to get the formula right but once you do this sucker stays put pretty well! It is much denser than an eyeshadow & I don’t recommend trying to use it as one. I love this used as a base as well, very nice!

 photo KryolanGreenCakeLinerEyeLook02_zps7783c857.jpg
 photo KryolanGreenCakeLinerEyeLook01_zps0d112742.jpg

I’ve been using it this way lately, just a winged eyeliner look. Simple but a bit more fall & fun. I bought mine from Camera Ready Cosmetics & I will likely be looking into buying more. This brand costs a bit more in the cake liner department but it was really smooth & easy to use.

Have you ever used cake eyeliner? Any favorites?

Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Shampoo & Deep Conditioning Mask for Normal to Dry Hair Review

October 31, 2013 By StephanieLouise 274Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fsuave-professionals-moroccan-infusion.htmlSuave+Professionals+Moroccan+Infusion+Shampoo+%26+Deep+Conditioning+Mask+for+Normal+to+Dry+Hair+Review2013-10-31+17%3A10%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fsuave-professionals-moroccan-infusion-shampoo-deep-conditioning-mask-for-normal-to-dry-hair-review.html

I haven’t done a hair review in way too long & I really do apologize. I had some real issues with an allergic reaction to something I was planning to review & took some time with old faithfuls to get my head back on right. I have seriously used up 2 (TWO!) bottles each of these products from the Suave Moroccan Infusion line. I wash my hair about every 3 days so I’ve been using them a long time! I’m crazy impressed & really excited to share my thoughts!
So for reference I have very thick, fine hair which seems to be really hard to find a product line for. My hair is also very long & gets tangled easily. I need a line that is very moisturizing for my dry hair while not making my scalp too oily. I use dry shampoo when needed but my scalp isn’t really oily unless I go longer without washing.

Both of these products & the others I’ve tried from the line (the oil is great & a total bargain!) smell absolutely amazing! If you like the smell of argan oil, you’ll absolutely love this line. They also have a slightly spicy scent that is really faint but makes it seem even more luxe.

Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Shine Shampoo- Although really hydrating, this shampoo gets my hair feeling clean & it actually lathers really nicely! While being really hydrating it rinses completely clean & doesn’t leave my scalp oily or anything like that.

Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Deep Conditioning Shine Mask- Yes, Suave does make a conditioner for this line but I honestly prefer this mask as my conditioner instead! It is even more hydrating & more rich than the conditioner which my hair prefers. If you have thinner, less dry hair then the conditioner from this line would likely be a better choice. I leave this on my hair as long as I can while I’m washing my face or shaving or whatever. Once rinsed out it doesn’t leave my hair oily, just smooth & hydrated.

What I’m trying to say is that if you have hair similar to mine, you’re likely going to love these. For one thing, they’re a total steal & under $4 a piece if not on sale on top of that. I usually pick mine up on sale 2 for $6 at my local drugstores which is an awesome deal! I can honestly say this is my favorite line from the drugstore currently…& for a crazy affordable price that actually works on my hair! Suave also now has a Keratin line like this one & I’m dying to try that next, I’ve heard it is amazing!

You can find this Suave line available from Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, & Drugstore.com.

Let’s just get this out of the way real quick: This was a freaking awesome Glossybox! Okay now to retain my composure & tell you why: One item in this box was already on my list to repurchase & I’ve been using it for over a month. Yes. I love it that much! This box has makeup, possibly a new HG status exfoliating product, perfume, & skincare. Keep reading to see the details!

 photo GlossyboxOctober2013ByrdieReview02_zps7a80c7ab.jpg

This month Glossybox had a collaboration with Byrdie who claims to be your new destination for all things beauty. Well, Stephanie Louise from All Things Beautiful is feeling threatened, please don’t drop me! (I kid I kid) They have lots of stylists & such on their site & bring lots of new ideas to the beauty world. Cool stuff. The box this month was an awesome gray shade & the card was laid out a bit different. I like that they have been playing around with their design, fun to see something new each month.

 photo GlossyboxOctober2013ByrdieReview03_zps5e21bab7.jpg
 photo GlossyboxOctober2013ByrdieReview04_zps731093bc.jpg

Tarte Lights Camera Flashes Mascara– Yes, this is the product! A full sized mascara I love that retails for $23 in my $21 box? You bet I was happy, I pretty much saved $2 then got the rest of the items free! This mascara has been my go-to favorite for at least a month & my favorite Tarte formula so far. No flaking, beautiful packaging, & a seriously cool brush. This wand has two sides that do both things I want: lengthen & coat then volumize & separate. I’m just so happy ya’ll, I’m tearing up. Plus it is really black which I also love! A great splurge item & then Glossybox saves me $23! Be my best friend Glossy?

Balance Me Tinted Lip Salve in Super Soft Beige-This is your regular tube gloss but for some reason mine was at least 1/3 empty? Not sure if they all come like that but that was honestly the first thing I noticed. I was nervous about the shade but it is actually really sheer. It has a minty scent & contains lots of oils to moisturize. A nice shiny gloss. This shade was an exclusive for Glossybox subscribers.

Sesha Skin Therapy Renu Exfoliating Gel– I seriously think this might be something I need to pick up ASAP after working through a few more skincare lines I’m reviewing. This gel says it is for all skin types (I have dry/combo skin for reference) & says it “removes dead skin cells & unclogs pores with papaya enzymes”. I personally love enzyme cleansers/masks/exfoliants so I was already excited but this pretty much blew my mind. I haven’t tried anything like this! You apply this to dry skin (it looks like a clear gel) then you start lightly rubbing it in with circular motions. This gel starts beading up (so gross!) with dead skin & such removes it without any irritation or even redness to my somewhat sensitive skin. I’m always left red after exfoliating…except now! You keep massaging it in until it dries & pulls crud up then you just wash it off. Poof awesome skin. This was ridiculous & I was hooked in just one application!

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream– I’m a big Fresh fan & have used multiple products from them over the years. This moisturizer promises to help ease the signs of aging while boosting radiance. I found at least the radiant part to be true as I have to use something longer then a week or two to see big signs. With ingredients like lotus flower extract, both fig & hibiscus fruit extracts, & the ever effective blue-green algae this is something I feel good about feeding to my skin. This is a pricey moisturizer in full size so I’d consider picking this up next time I need something for day use when my skin is just feeling a bit more dull.

Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Green Tea– Not only does this scent involve green tea (easily one of my favorite drinks to sip on while I type!) but it is also supposed to be unisex. This is a really great size sample although I always prefer a rollerball or spritzer. For me personally, this isn’t something I would have picked up to wear. While pleasant & quite neutral, I tend to prefer something more feminine which is just personal preference.

Obviously I loved this box & it was a steal for my personal beauty habits. I send lots of X’s & O’s to Glossybox & Byrdie for this one, great collaboration! If you’re interested in signing up for Glossybox USA it is a monthly subscription service for only $21 a month. I have posted lots of reviews so check them out for reference!

I bought it.

Halloween pretties are often my favorites. Perhaps because it is my favorite holiday? Another reason is likely that I end up finding black glitter which used to be hard to find (not so much anymore!) & I love mysterious type shades. When I was choosing shades from the China Glaze Halloween collection I ended up with three shades:  Fang-tastic, Boo-gie Down, & Howl You Doin’. Keep reading to see what I think!
I used an even topper of Out the Door for the swatches below. 2/3 are over a base & those shades will be reviewed soon! All of these shades are limited edition & I’m a bit behind in posting these so if you do like a shade try to snap it up locally or buy online like I do ๐Ÿ˜‰

China Glaze Fang-tastic- A mix of blue, fuchsia, blurple, & green hex glitters in a clear base. One coat over Sinful Colors Laced Up. This doesn’t look Halloween-esque to me but I still really like it. This is something I honestly would’ve thought was from a spring collection even but application/glitter payoff were pretty Fang-tastic (see what I did there?) so I shall let it pass.

China Glaze Boo-gie Down- Black, white, & copper glitter in varying sizes in a clear base. This has some awesome varying sizes of hexes from micro to medium/large & even some black bare glitter. This applied really nicely which was a big relief since the last white glitter I bought from China Glaze was Whirled Away…& it was a total mess (read about that fiasco here but my swatches have really changed!). I think this is my favorite polish of the three because it just looks so fall-tastic. One coat over Sinful Colors Strapped.

China Glaze Howl You Doin’- This is a red based purple jelly-ish base packed with purple small glitter & orange-ish shard flakes. It was really kind of balding on the first coat but the second coat evened it out. I had a heck of a time with cleanup on this on for some reason!

I’m really happy I picked up all three of these shades & can actually see myself using all 3 repeatedly which is key when you accumulate a stash like mine at the moment. Boo-gie Down is my favorite of the 3 I think but I am both a black & white polish & copper anything sucker so that could totally be why!

Have you picked up any of these shades? What are some of your favorite Halloween shades?

Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Glosses in 3 NEW Shades Swatches & Review

October 25, 2013 By StephanieLouise 281Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Frimmel-stay-glossy-3d-glosses-in-3-new.htmlRimmel+Stay+Glossy+3D+Glosses+in+3+NEW+Shades+Swatches+%26+Review2013-10-25+22%3A43%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Frimmel-stay-glossy-3d-glosses-in-3-new-shades-swatches-review.html

If you love original lipgloss shades then I think you’re really going to dig  the 3 shades added somewhat recently to the Rimmel Stay Glossy line. I have 3 completely different shades to show you today: Lights, Camera, Action, Popcorn for 2, & Red Carpet Glam. Keep reading to see what I think & to see swatches!
From Rimmel:

Bring your lips into a new dimension with a multi-coloured shine coming from every angle! Thanks to its new colour changing sparkles, your lips will look fuller, shinier and with a stunning colour change depending on the light. Your lips in a 3D dimension!

Although I don’t consider these long wearing glosses, they do last a solid 2-3 hours before I start to feel like perhaps I need to apply something more. I also quite like the applicator which is a longer, flattened doe foot which makes it easier to be a bit more precise. The packaging itself isn’t out of this world but it looks nice & I love being able to see the shades inside the tube. The scent is quite plastic-y but it wears off so it is only an issue for about a minute.

The real winner of these shades are the combinations themselves! They are all interesting shade combinations which you can both see in the bottle & in the swatches below. I tried to show different angles because these are really shiny & in certain lighting like shade it is more muted but in the light holy pow!

Swatches left to right: Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Glosses in Popcorn for 2, Red Carpet Glam, & Lights, Camera, Action.

Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Gloss in Popcorn for 2- This is like a soft beige toned pink with this gorgeous teal shimmer throughout. Really a ton of shimmer but it is ultra fine so it is a really cool look. I love this over nudes for more of a kick.

Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Gloss in Red Carpet Glam- If you love cool toned reds then this medium red packed with cool blue shimmers is awesome. I love this to spice up a red lip or to top regular ol’ red lipliner. The shimmer in this shade isn’t as dense as the other two mentioned.

Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Gloss in Lights, Camera, Action- This is such a punchy color, probably more spring/summer but I’m a rebel! The shade itself is a pink toned tangerine when swatched with lots of pink shimmer. So pretty! I really like this shade on its own, over nudes, & even to brighten certain shades because the pink shimmer is delightful!

You can find the Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Glosses & other Rimmel products available from Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, & Target.

What do you think of these shades? Do you dig the duochrome feel of these shades or something more traditional?

Birchbox for October 2013 featuring Liz Earle, POP Beauty, & More!

October 24, 2013 By StephanieLouise 282Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fbirchbox-for-october-2013-featuring-liz.htmlBirchbox+for+October+2013+featuring+Liz+Earle%2C+POP+Beauty%2C+%26+More%212013-10-24+20%3A49%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F10%2Fbirchbox-for-october-2013-featuring-liz-earle-pop-beauty-more.html

I bought it. Affiliate links.

Birchbox came through this month & I’ve been pretty happy the past few months. I received 4 different brands in my box this month & 2 samples from the same brand.  This month was all makeup & skincare which is definitely a turn for Birchbox as I usually receive items off topic or hair related. Interesting! Keep reading to see what I got!

Here’s my card for this month which gives you some more in depth information. Feel free to click to enlarge.

 photo BirchboxOctober2013UnboxingAlisonRaffaeleRealityBaseFoundation_zpse0cc10a9.jpg

Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation- This is an itty bitty probably 1-2 use sample…& as you’ll see in the swatches at the bottom of this post wayyyy too dark for me. I actually like trying new foundations & BB/CC cream products but when they’re not in my shade (or even close) I rarely do. I just hate walking around in a weird shade even if my husband is the only one who will see me.

 photo BirchboxOctober2013UnboxingLizEarlePureMuslinCleanampPolish_zps63135b56.jpg

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser + Pure Muslin Cloth- This counts as 2 samples & I’m totally happy with them! I watch & read a lot of UK beauty blogs/vlogs so I have heard about this multiple times as being holy grail. This is a really nice size sample of the cleanser. I haven’t gotten to try them yet because I’m using a specific skincare regimen but I’m REALLY excited & have high hopes.

 photo BirchboxOctober2013Unboxing0PopBeautyGloss_zps3e1b8401.jpg

POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer in Flowering Fuschia- While this looks like a squeeze tube type gloss this actually has a wand. At the end of the wand is a clear plastic paddle type applicator (much like the Anastasia of Beverly Hills glosses reviewed & shown here but thinner) & contains jojoba oil to plump & hydrate. This is supposed to be a clear gloss & it definitely is. This is just okay for me, nothing mind blowing but okay to use.

 photo BirchboxOctober2013UnboxingChapStickHydrationLock_zps6e8021b3.jpg

ChapStick Hydration Lock 8 Hour Moisture Chapstick- From the Vanilla Creme scent to the texture I’m really happy with this product! This is supposed to be an extra & is described as a “mass-market discovery” which is new. This balm is the first from ChapStick I’ve tried which doesn’t leave my lips looking glossy but instead smooth & even. I really like this a lot & have been using it daily since I got it.

 photo BirchboxOctober2013Unboxing04_zpsb41c337d.jpg

Left to right are swatches of POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer in Flowering Fuschia & Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation in shade #3.

Overall I’m pretty happy with this box! I am really excited to try the Liz Earle products the most. I liked that Birchbox included a full sized lip product which is rare for them. I really love this ChapStick & I wouldn’t have bought it on my own so I’m quite grateful for the find!

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription costing $10 a month. If you review each product monthly you also get credit money in the Birchbox shop. If you review each product each month (assuming there are 5) that equals $5 so the box itself pretty much costs $5 which is a great deal! If you’re interested in joining, please subscribe using my Birchbox referral link!

What do you think of this box? What did you receive? Anything in here strike a fancy with you?
