Zoya Pixie Dust Nail Polish Collection Review & Swatches

March 6, 2013 By StephanieLouise 514Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fzoya-pixie-dust-nail-polish-collection.htmlZoya+Pixie+Dust+Nail+Polish+Collection+Review+%26+Swatches2013-03-06+23%3A23%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fzoya-pixie-dust-nail-polish-collection-review-swatches.html

Zoya has done it again. They’ve made my nails so happy & my creative side beam. Textured, matte, & gloriously sparkling I am one satisfied girl. I haven’t been in a super creative mood lately so the new texture wave is just in time. These are my favorite shimmering option so far because they just have the perfect application, texture, & wear. I’ve gotten about 4 days of wear without chipping which is a big deal without any top coat. What are my favorites from the Zoya Pixie Dust Collection & how do they look on the nail? Keep reading to find out!
 Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish Collection

Infused with magic and wonder! The latest “must-have” nail polish finish – textured, matte and sparkling! This newly developed formula is sure to captivate with a magical sparkle and sugary finish like no other. The color experts at Zoya have created six, long-wearing stunners for the introduction of this enchanting look.

IMPORTANT PixieDust Application Information –  Do not use a base coat or top coat. Apply 1-3 (for full coverage) thin coats of polish. Allow product to dry down completely matte in between layers for full textured effect. The PixieDust textured formula may take up to 10 minutes to dry completely matte. Once dry, the textured finish is long lasting, matte and ultra-glittery!

In case you missed it, don’t put top coat on these! That totally ruins the texture. I’m not quite sure why you can’t use a base coat, I’m assuming it has something to do with its ability to grip to the nail? All of the shades swatched below are 2 coats. I was told to expect longer dry time but honestly I found it pretty average. After all, you aren’t adding a fast dry top coat so it will be a bit longer for me in general.

 photo ZoyaVespaCloseUp_zps846267c7.jpg

This is Zoya Vespa, I thought I’d show my nails before clean up. You can see the texture ridges & they’re a lot like fine sugar/sand. They aren’t awkward shades to wear though, they don’t grip or snap at all. You can see a few specs of glitter on my fingers pre-cleaning so you can see it isn’t shimmer powder but actual glitter! Add a top coat & it becomes a regular polish with a shiny finish. It is like having two polishes in one!

Zoya Vespa-  A matte, sparkling, sugar textured pale green with silver fine glitter.
I love this one so much! I am a sucker for greens, probably because it is absolutely unnatural for the nails. This is so soft which makes it that much more wearable if textures have you a bit wary.

 photo ZoyaChyna2_zpse735e4da.jpg
 photo ZoyaChyna_zps9bdd65c4.jpg

Zoya Chyna- A matte, sparkling, sugar textured rich red with red fine glitter.
This is the only shade that doesn’t have silver shimmer…& it is spectacular! This has me inspired to keep an eye out for more combinations, can you imagine a purple & aqua or a red & black? Ah! This one is absolutely gorgeous & shimmers a bit more I think than the others. Gorgeous with a top coat too!

 photo ZoyaDahlia2_zpsad78e459.jpg

Zoya Dahlia- A matte, sparkling, sugar textured black with silver fine glitter.
It is a glittery black, you know I love it! This isn’t an intense black because it is mattified but it definitely is edgy looking.  I love this so much! I actually wore this one for the longest amount of time.

 photo ZoyaNyx2_zps35d9106f.jpg
 photo ZoyaNyx_zpsdc4d915d.jpg

Zoya NYX- A matte, sparkling, sugar textured pale periwinkle blue with silver fine glitter.
This screams dainty & spring. I think periwinkle was the perfect shade for this collection because it is definitely a shade perfect for the upcoming season. Plus, it looks super feminine then with the texture it looks really interesting.

 photo ZoyaLondon_zpsad8d5576.jpg
 photo ZoyaLondon2_zpse1d353a5.jpg

Zoya London- A matte, sparkling, sugar textured grey with silver fine glitter.
I love greys, especially grey with silver. They make me happy. I wear grey year round because its awesome so this will get a lot of use.

 photo ZoyaGodiva2_zpse5da6f6c.jpg
 photo ZoyaGodiva_zpsdd246b57.jpg

Zoya Godiva-  A matte, sparkling, sugar textured nude beige with silver fine glitter.
I honestly thought this was going to be the only shade I disliked so of course AI absolutely love it. Its so light that it blends into my skintone a bit but warmer. This is the perfect work shade if you want something different or if nudes just aren’t interesting enough for you. It is glorious & I had serious issues taking it off because I liked it that much.

 photo ZoyaPixiedust2_zpsd8183289.jpg

You can purchase these shades from Zoya’s website & also spot them at your local ULTA store. In case you missed my Summer 2013 announcement about the new Pixie Dust shades from Zoya you should really check that out! I’m beside myself with excitement!

What do you think of the new texture trend? Which shade is your favorite?

Requested: Mystery Baby Shower Easy Nail Art Using Julie G Nail Polish!

March 5, 2013 By StephanieLouise 515Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Frequested-mystery-baby-shower-easy-nail.htmlRequested%3A+Mystery+Baby+Shower+Easy+Nail+Art+Using+Julie+G+Nail+Polish%212013-03-05+14%3A57%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Frequested-mystery-baby-shower-easy-nail-art-using-julie-g-nail-polish.html

 photo DSCN4429_zps3aeeda8b.jpg

I absolutely love getting post requests & this one hit my inbox last week while I was swatching my new Julie G from Jesse’s Girl polishes! She wishes to remain anonymous but requested a baby shower nail art tutorial that was super basic & easy. & cheap, really cheap! She wanted to use products she already had. So here’s what I came up with!

 photo DSCN4442_zpsdd8703b3.jpg
I used 4 different techniques that are all nail art but none of them require buying anything new unless you don’t have tape or a cosmetic sponge laying around. I decided to give 4 easy options so you can do all 4 or just pick one!

All 3 of these polishes were reviewed last week & the shades are Cabana Boy, Shoe-A-Holic, & White Orchid. You can sub in other polishes obviously but try to use something a bit more opaque. You can also sub in yellow & green (mystery baby shower!) if you don’t like this combo. I used Out the Door as my top coat.

 photo DSCN4436_zps5644c815.jpg

Pointer: This is an easy watercolor type nail. The base is white then you dot on the pink & blue with a toothpick or dotting tool. Swirl the shades together & fill in any gaps you don’t want to see. Super easy.

Middle: Use the white base & create dots either from the base of your nail or the tip depending on which is easier for you.

Ring: Start with a white base. You’ll need a cosmetics sponge & tweezers. Rip off very small pieces of a cosmetic sponge & either paint with the pink or blue or dip into it. Use the tweezers to grip the small piece of sponge for more control. I like to start with the pink because it is a bit lighter & leave gaps then fill in with the blue.

Pinkie: Start with a white base. Cut small angled piece of tape then apply those to completely dry nails. Fill in the gaps between the tape varying shades. Remove tape carefully.

Well that’s it! I hope you really enjoy this little idea & find something you can use! What do you think? What are your favorite basic techniques for nail art?

Jesse’s Girl Glow Stix & Liquid Glass Lip Glosses Review & Swatches (Unedited but you won’t believe it!)

March 2, 2013 By StephanieLouise 5163 Commentshttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fjesses-girl-glow-stix-liquid-glass-lip.htmlJesse%27s+Girl+Glow+Stix+%26+Liquid+Glass+Lip+Glosses+Review+%26+Swatches+%28Unedited+but+you+won%27t+believe+it%21%292013-03-02+14%3A53%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fjesses-girl-glow-stix-liquid-glass-lip-glosses-review-swatches-unedited-but-you-wont-believe-it.html

photo frontphotojessesgirlglowstix_zps6114dc25.jpgSo I want to tell you first off, none of these photos have been edited other than cropping & putting my blog on them. No saturation altering, no light alteration, all natural lighting, everything. These really are these insane looking.

I bought these while I was in California & swatching the new Jesse’s Girl Julie G nail polishes earlier reminded me I somehow forgot to show these off! If they aren’t just the coolest things ever right? I was so excited to pick these up because they look like crazy opals…I never thought I’d find this type of coloring in a lip product!

 photo DSCN4857_zps6b6a36ff.jpg
 photo DSCN4869-1_zps1cb253b4.jpg

Jesse’s Girl Liquid Glass Lip Gloss in Razzle Dazzle- This shade is a medium blue toned fuchsia pink & I like it a lot shade wise. This has a warm vanilla scent but it isn’t very strong so if you’re sensitive, I think you’ll be okay. The applicator surprised me, I thought it was going to be your average lipgloss brush but this one is actually firm & a bit pointy. This definitely applies more like a liquid lipstick to me, it is really pigmented! I found that it would bleed a bit because it is so thin & pigmented so I wear it over a lipliner.

 photo tangerineglowsticksjg_zpsaab98bc0.jpg

Jesse’s Girl Glow Stix Lip Gloss in Tangerine-  The shades I spot here are mainly iridescent orange & lime/yellow but there are also flashes of blue purple, & pink. The applicator on this shade & Wicked look like the Liquid Glass Lip Gloss with the clear wand but this has a traditional, easy to use brush applicator. On my lips, this leans more tangerine with a hint of pink. You can see the other shades here & there, especially if you use a lot or put it over a dark shade.

 photo wickedglowstixjg_zpse52a1f62.jpg

Jesse’s Girl Glow Stix Lip Gloss in Wicked- The main two shades are an  iridescent cool toned bright blue & teal green with flashes of lime, purple, & highlighter yellow. I don’t detect a scent on either of these Glow Stix. I didn’t catch the bright purple on the swatches below but believe me, it is vibrantly there in natural light. On my lips, this leaned more green. You can see the other shades here & there, especially if you use a lot or put it over a dark shade.

 photo swatchesglowsticksjg_zpsc5aba4aa.jpg
Left to right: Jesse’s Girl Razzle Dazzle, Tangering, & Wicked.

These products were purchased with my own funds while I was in California for IMATS LA. I’m not sure if you can still find them in stores, but you can purchase them from the Jesse’s Girl website!  They didn’t have the shade Red Dawn when I was there but I’d really like to get my hands on it!

Drew Barrymore Flower Beauty Ready, Set, Glow! Blush & Bronzer Duo in Shimmering Goddess Review & Swatches

March 1, 2013 By StephanieLouise 518Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fdrew-barrymore-flower-beauty-ready-set.htmlDrew+Barrymore+Flower+Beauty+Ready%2C+Set%2C+Glow%21+Blush+%26+Bronzer+Duo+in+Shimmering+Goddess+Review+%26+Swatches2013-03-01+17%3A38%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F03%2Fdrew-barrymore-flower-beauty-ready-set-glow-blush-bronzer-duo-in-shimmering-goddess-review-swatches.html

 photo cff63dad-117e-40e5-a15f-244254107195_zps3a585db0.jpg

So when I was decided what to buy from the Flower Beauty line ( available exclusively at Walmart ) this particular duo jumped out at me. For one things, despite the Shimmering Goddess name, both shades are matte. I feel like drugstore doesn’t always do matte very well so this would be a good test in case I wanted more right? Right! I’ve been on a definite blush kick & for a whopping $10 I figured I might as well try a bronzer too.

About Drew Barrymore & Flower Beauty Cosmetics:
You no longer have to spend a lot of money to get the quality cosmetics you want and deserve.

How do we do it? We do not pay for advertising. Where other beauty brands spend a vast percentage of the cost of their products on ads, we do not. Drew, as an owner of the brand, takes pride in promoting Flower, which in turn allows us to put all of our resources into the formulas and packaging, and not into advertising.

Custom-formulated with the same ingredients used in luxury make-up, our exclusive botanical-infused Soft-Focus Complex illuminates for a lit-from-within effect. All products are proudly made in the USA and are never tested on animals. So be em-FLOWER-ed. The best make-up isnโ€™t only found in high-end stores any longer. Available at Walmart and Walmart.com.

So for me, the highlights are Drew Barrymore ( I’ve grown up adoring her, my whole family does!), made here in the USA ( always excited to support my own country especially with all the cutbacks! ), not tested on animals, & the packaging. It is a lot of things that drew me to the brand clearly so I was excited for when it finally hit a Walmart near me.

About Flower Beauty Ready, Set, Glow! Blush & Bronzer Duos:

  • Ultra-smooth pressed powder combines superlative wear, comfort and color purity
  • Smooth application and supreme blendability
  • Contour with bronzer and add color with blush
 photo DSCN4782_zpsa31ca790.jpg

Sounds good right? I agree! I wanted to pick up a matte duo like I said & Shimmering Goddess (still a silly name for this duo in particular!) was the only one I thought both had matte shades.

 photo DSCN4775_zps45caa49f.jpg

The packaging is beautiful & it looks like they took a lot of time. This came sealed…kind of. It has a sticker that is a line that closes the package. Unfortunately this could easily be tampered with & at my Walmart ….psh they will be messed with.  The good thing is the top is clear so you should be able to see if it is untouched.

 photo DSCN4772_zpsa28f4029.jpg
 photo DSCN4770_zps173147d4.jpg

This has sleek white packaging, a clear quilted top window, rose gold accents which are so in right now, & a magnetic closure. The overall shape is a square pinched on all sides so it resembles a bit of a flower. No brush & also…..no mirror. I won’t be throwing this in my bag clearly.

 photo DSCN4777_zps5b903d8b.jpg
 photo DSCN4787_zps087293be.jpg
 photo DSCN4785_zps6c23c676.jpg

These shades are super pigmented, gorgeous. If you’re fair, use a light hand with the bronzer especially! The blush is a medium warm toned pink…maybe with a hint of coral. The bronzer is a nice mid shade without too much orange. Both look really nice on!

What do you think of this duo? What products are you interested in seeing from Flower Beauty?

NEW Jesse’s Girl Julie G Nail Polish (5 Shades!) Swatches

February 28, 2013 By StephanieLouise 519Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnew-jesses-girl-julie-g-nail-polish-5.htmlNEW+Jesse%27s+Girl+Julie+G+Nail+Polish+%285+Shades%21%29+Swatches2013-02-28+15%3A17%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fnew-jesses-girl-julie-g-nail-polish-5-shades-swatches.html

 photo JulieGFirstPhotoCabana_zpsc82d6f03.jpg

So I was lucky enough to get my hands on 5 new Julie G Nail Polish shades. These are from Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics & I already knew I loved their formula. They know what they’re doing. I really want to get my hands on some specific shades but for now here are 5 of the new colors! I’ll also have some baby shower nail art one of you requested! Stay tuned for swatches!
Shades are with top coat except for A Star is Born & White Orchid. I don’t have a Jesse’s Girl top coat or base so I used one of my many Color Club top coats from numerous sets. I apologize in advance for my cuticles, I need to find a new nail polish remover that isn’t so harsh!

 photo DSCN4486_zps6521cc97.jpg
 photo DSCN4483_zps9b51dabf.jpg

Julie G Cabana Boy – A bright blue creme. This has been lightened from the brightness with the cream so it really gives this shade something different. 2 coats. Similar to Sally Hansen Pacific Blue but I much prefer this formula. Easily a favorite.

 photo DSCN4463_zps12e672a1.jpg
 photo DSCN4460_zps4ea6cebb.jpg

Julie G Shoe-A-Holic – Baby pink creme. If you like Zoya Shelby, you’ll really like this. 2 coats.

 photo DSCN4449_zpsb76f4196.jpg

 photo DSCN4447_zpsd107331f.jpg

Julie G Freshly Squeezed – Super sheer yellow/orange looking creme with lots of pink shimmer. This is 3 coats.

 photo DSCN4421_zps3d9f0bd0.jpg

Julie G White Orchid – A nice opaque white. 2 coats.

 photo DSCN4477_zpscde0a57a.jpg
 photo DSCN4466_zps15206e6c.jpg

Julie G A Star is Born – Micro, small, & medium silver hexes in a clear base. This is 2 very thin coats so I could get nice glitter layout. These do lay really flat & this is suspended in a nice, shiny topcoat.

So there you go! I am so excited for these new shades & I really like all of them! Like I said before, you’ll be seeing some in some nail art action soon. I really like Cabana Boy & I think it is definitely a must have. I think White Orchid is going to be an awesome white base, it isn’t drying like so many other whites that make my nails look way ridgey. Freshly Squeezed is perfect for spring, I might need to break out some spring nail art with it. I have a lot of silver glitters, but A Star is Born is a nice combination & leaves a nice shine. Shoe-A-Holic is one I can see being really popular & is a nice girly touch.

These retail for $3.99 & you can find them online on the Jesse’s Girl Website & also at Rite Aid.

There you go! I know since I posted a photo on Instagram you guys have been excited to see this! Which shades are you loving?

Khroma Kardashian Khloe’s Kardazzle Complete Face Palette Review & Swatches

February 27, 2013 By StephanieLouise 520Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fkhroma-khloes-kardazzle-complete-face.htmlKhroma+Kardashian+Khloe%27s+Kardazzle+Complete+Face+Palette+Review+%26+Swatches2013-02-27+14%3A45%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Fkhroma-kardashian-khloes-kardazzle-complete-face-palette-review-swatches.html

 photo DSCN2452_zpsa3d04e98.jpg

Well this review is long overdue. I picked these up before I left for IMATS LA 2013 & photographed them, used them, then left. Now I want to preface this by saying ULTA now has the Kourtney version of these palettes available & it has gotten much better reviews. In fact…the other two have been pulled off the site altogether. I don’t know if you can still find them in stores, if they’ve been reformulated, I honestly just don’t know. I also wanted to note I’ve heard some good things about the lashes although I haven’t tried them myself.

 photo DSCN2449_zps7e8846a1.jpg
 photo DSCN2465_zpsedbfb438.jpg

The exterior of this palette has been getting a lot of love or hate. Its a snakeskin/croc palette. I think it looks a bit cheesy but it honestly doesn’t bother me much. This palette is also plastic. I think people were expecting higher quality (like NARS) from the Kardashians however I can see why they didn’t. They tried to make these products more affordable, thus the plastic packaging.

 photo DSCN2460_zps44524c41.jpg

The interior has a big mirror (for this size of palette) & the top contains 8 shadows while the pull out base contains a blush, highlighter, & bronzer. I actually like that they didn’t fool around with lipsticks or glosses as they tend to be poor quality in these palettes.

I’ve heard a lot of raves & a lot of rants for this line in particular. Where do I fall? I guess somewhere in the middle. I really liked some shades but I consider others throwaways. I’m absolutely addicted to mini palettes like these, I have loads from Stila to Sephora to drugstore. They make me happy. I honestly don’t use them much on the go but to know that I could…that’s how you know I’m a makeup addict I suppose.

 Eyes:

 photo DSCN2458_zpsf268f1bb.jpg
 photo DSCN2515_zps2682f481.jpg
 photo DSCN2491_zps2b4fed93.jpg

One of the main draws to this palette is the shades. I love me some good neutrals. With 4 matte shades & 4 borderline metallic shimmers, I was hopeful. Consider my hopes dashed. These swatches are without primer which I tend to do unless a palette comes with it specifically or I feel like it needs it like a loose powder. I don’t think a primer would even save the matte shades. & I went back & tried swatching them the next day with more pressure & nada. However, how gorgeous are those shimmers? I really like them & although they all lean warm golden I find them to be very pretty & useable.

Face:

 photo DSCN2461_zpsaffa0245.jpg
 photo DSCN2485_zps43b56d10.jpg

I think the best part of this palette is the face section. The blush is a gorgeous coral shade that really compliments my fair skin & although the bronzer contains a bit of reflective shimmer I don’t find it to translate it onto the cheek really. I don’t consider it shimmery. I can actually use this as a blush lightly for something more neutral & if you’re darker than me I think you definitely can. The star is the highlight. This was a harder press (I assumed it would need it after swatching the other shades) but holy pigment payoff! I love this shade! It makes a beautiful highlight on the face or eyes with a gorgeous gold tone.

So was this a fluke? Could the mattes REALLY be that bad? I think so. I bought the Kim version of this palette when it was on sale & it might even be worse in the matte department. So are these palettes worth $12.99? I can’t believe I’m saying this….but maybe. The shimmers (or practically metallics) are nice but the star for me is the face products. I love this highlighter, it is freaking gorgeous. The blush in this palette in particular is lovely on my skin & I really dig the color. Would I carry this in my bag? I might, for summer since these shades say summer to me. I probably won’t even bother with the mattes though. If you guys want to see an eye look with them to see pigmentation of primer just let me know!

So what do you think? Have you ever gotten a palette you like except for one part? Would you still be interested in picking this up?

Alessandro Nail Polish Nagellack in Caramel Temptation Review & Swatches

February 26, 2013 By StephanieLouise 521Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Falessandro-nail-polish-nagellack-in.htmlAlessandro+Nail+Polish+Nagellack+in+Caramel+Temptation+Review+%26+Swatches2013-02-26+22%3A01%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F02%2Falessandro-nail-polish-nagellack-in-caramel-temptation-review-swatches.html

Alessandro is big in Europe so I’m terribly excited to be seeing it begin to pop up in the US. Today I get to show you one of their new shades, Caramel Temptation, but I really hope to show you more in the future! Keep reading to see swatches & a review!

From Alessandro International:
The new patented formula for even more brilliance on nails:

  • Incredible long durability
  • Fast drying
  • No chipping
  • Smooth & streak free application
  • High colour intensiveness due to UV absorber
  • Protects the nails
  • High gloss shine

In order to make the application of nail polish much easier, alessandro International even designed a special nail polish bottle. The alessandro nail polish bottle has a patented Quick Brush guaranteeing easy and perfect application, a wider bottle opening for easy use and a recessed cap grip for a perfect handling. Just perfect!

 photo DSCN4414_zps38cddc46.jpg
 photo DSCN4408_zpsb51c9382.jpg

Caramel Temptation- A very rosy based nude with a hidden shimmer that is somewhere between light reflecting white & light gold.

This isn’t my preferred type of neutral, I feel like this would look better on a warmer skintone. I found that his polish applied nicely & I ended up doing 2 coats. It was nicely opaque which is my preference. The wear time on this was good, I got about 4 days without chipping which is super rare. My nails shed polish & all the stuff I blog about eats it. It is inevitable. I found this to dry about average but it is thicker so I suppose it could have been much slower. I’d really like to get my manicured claws on these Crystal Punk polishes I spied on another blog & these gorgeous shimmering Alessandro shades!

What do you think of this shade? I’d love to see what some brighter colors look like! Are you excited to try this for yourself?

Urban Decay Glinda Oz the Great & Powerful Palette Set Review & Swatches

Let’s start off with You need to buy this palette. Now that we’re off to a good start, let’s talk about why! This palette is from the Urban Decay Oz the Great & Powerful collection & there is also a Theodora set available which I’ll feature soon as well. I knew I needed both palettes & pre-ordered them. I’ve now had sufficient time to play with all of the shades & am excited to bring you my final thoughts. I also created an eyeshadow look on A Girl’s Gotta Spa featuring this palette so I urge you to check that out!

Let’s start with the fabulous packaging. This is a hard metal case with a big mirror. Although this mirror doesn’t stand upright on its own (like my beloved Urban Decay Vice palette) it is a nice sturdy packaging & convenient. This is the palette I’ve been waiting for now that Urban Decay has moveable eyeshadows. I didn’t want to pay for the empty palette so I’m really happy they offered this as an option instead of their average Build Your Own Palette.

This kit contains 6 single eyeshadows & 2 of them are duos. I adore these duos & I definitely hope this is a preview of Urban Decay collections to come because I’d rather have this type of variety. This palette also comes with a small Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Rockstar which comes inside the palette instead of an applicator or brush. The final piece of the kit is an Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Glinda.

Tornado- Deep purple with shimmer. Has a satin like application. Wonderful pigmentation.

 photo DSCN3211_zps7c57dfd4.jpg

Aura- One side is iridescent with a pink shift while the other has a blue/violet shift. I absolutely love both of these & they can transform any shade into something more exciting. Applied over black or a dark shade, they change the shade into something fabulous. & boy are these packed with the pigment. Worn alone, they give a sheer flashy color.

 photo DSCN3212_zpsa09ac7b3.jpg

Magic- A soft orchid pink with cool undertones & gold shimmer. I love this shade & I’m not big into pinks.

 photo DSCN3214_zpsb28f42d4.jpg

Illusion- Pale satin peach. A perfect base shade, highlight, or inner corner shade.

 photo DSCN3215_zps0ad8df30.jpg

Oz- A gold & silver duo. The gold side is a cool toned gold with lots of silver & gold chunk glitter. Lots of fallout & much like the old Urban Decay shades before they were reformulated. The silver side is super metallic & pigmented with a bit of silver glitter. Much less fallout but there is still a touch of it. The gold side is the only flaw in this palette for me & that would have easily been a favorite had it not contained the glitter.

 photo DSCN3216_zpsf517f0f4.jpg

South- Shimmering warm grey with a touch of taupe. Love this & it pulls a bit more taupe on my lid.

Left to right is Illusion, Magic, South, & Tornado. At the base is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner in Rockstar.

The Urban decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Rockstar is just alright. It is a blackened purple with works well with this palette but it isn’t as pigmented as some of my other eyeliners. I love their eyeliner in Perversion & which they’d reformulate them all to match that fantastic pigment & formula.

On the left is the Aura duo & on the right is the Oz duo. Below is a swatch of the Urban Decay Super-Saturated High-Gloss Lip Color in Glinda.

 photo DSCN3279_zps5ad714f7.jpg

Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Glinda is gorgeous. I love the formulation on this & I haven’t tried a lip product from Urban Decay in ages. Shame on me. This is a lovely neutral light pink. Swatching it was tough so check out my lip swatch on my tutorial for A Girl’s Gotta Spa.

Everything about this set is delicate, feminine, & beautiful. While I feel like the Urban Decay Theodora Palette is probably a bit more wearbale for me personally, but these colors really do compliment my hair complexion. I want to see like a billion more shadows like Aura as well….they remind me of a Naked Cosmetics stack I slapped myself for not buying at IMATs this year. It also reminds a bit of this palette from Starlooks I absolutely love.

All in all, go buy this while you still can if it even gives you a twinge of want. For only $49 you get 6 full sized, unique shadows, the Build Your Own Palette, eyeliner, & lip color. A steal in comparison to buying things on their own even though everything but the eyeliner is limited edition. I love it which is rare for a palette only containing a few shades. Normally I prefer bigger palettes. They did this one right.

You can purchase the Urban Decay Glinda Oz the Great & Powerful Palette Set from both Sephora & Ulta for $49.

Have you tried this palette? Are you a Glinda or Theodora? What are your favorite shades?

NEW Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Sticks in Paranoid Purple, Blackmail, & Blamed Blue Review & Swatches

Whew! Has this been a Rimmel lovefest lately around here or what? I am just so crazy impressed! I found 3 more shades of the Rimmel Scandal Eye Shadow Stick Crayons & these just might be my favorite shades yet! My prior review  swatched contained the shades Witness White, Bulletproof Beige, Gossip Green, Tempting Turquoise, Bad Girl Bronze, & Guilty Grey. Now we have what I think will be some of my most used shades!

Blamed Blue- Shimmering bright darkened turquoise with teal shimmer. Possibly my very favorite shade because every time I look at it I’m hypnotized. Most opaque in 2 swipes.

Blackmail- A creamy matte black. This is most opaque in 2 swipes. Love this, it blows all of my kohl eyeliners out of the water for wear time.

Paranoid Purple- Blackened shimmering purple. Super smoky. Most opaque in 2-3 swipes. Super smoky. This shade seems to be softer than the other formulas so be careful when applying.

 photo DSCN4313_zps9563978e.jpg

Clearly…I love these. I also love the Rimmel Scandal Kohls Eyeliners which I originally reviewed here then reviewed more shades here. I actually finally got my hand on the shade (besides the nude shade which is life changing) that I’ve been waiting for. Blown away. These Rimmel Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks are good bases & fabulous eyeliners. The colors are stunning. I urge you to check these out.

I’ve found these at both CVS & Walgreens. It seems like they’re both getting some more stock here or there so if one store doesn’t have the shade you’re looking for yet, you might want to check another!
