Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette Swatches & Review

July 10, 2013 By StephanieLouise 374Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Ftoo-faced-boudoir-eyes-palette-swatches.htmlToo+Faced+Boudoir+Eyes+Palette+Swatches+%26+Review2013-07-10+14%3A55%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Ftoo-faced-boudoir-eyes-palette-swatches-review.html

I bought it. Affiliate links.

When it comes to eyeshadows…I always come back to neutrals. I go on neutral palette sprees & recently my weapon of choice has been the Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette. Some of the shadows in this palette are repeats from other palettes…but they happen to be my favorites so I don’t mind! Keep reading to see some of my favorites & some new shades as well!

 photo TooFacedBoudoirPaletteReview02_zpsb12d76e6.jpg
Because it comes packaged similarly to the Summer Eyes Palette from Too Faced which I reviewed here I am pretty darn pleased with the packaging overall. I prefer these tins so much more than my other cardboard type palettes from Too Faced. I feel like they travel better, store easier, & just look nicer. Plus, much simpler to keep clean! You also get a small How-To Glamour Guide with directions for 3 eyeshadow looks.

From Too Faced: This handpicked collection of eye shadows offers boudoir-worthy colors including five new shades just for this palette for a total of nine soft and sexy colors. Created with high concentrations of color, what you see is what you get: pigment-rich shades with a brilliant finish. As with all Too Faced palettes, a show-and-tell centerfold Glamour Guide is included to give you instructions on creating three Boudoir Eyes looks.

 photo TooFacedBoudoirPaletteReview03_zps4826ff08.jpg

Swatches are left to right in the 3 sections located in the palette. Swatches done over a light coat of eyeshadow primer.

 photo TooFacedBoudoirPaletteReview04_zpsec24985a.jpg

Day: In the Buff, Fuzzy Handcuffs, Voulez-Vous.
In the Buff- Creamy vanilla toned white. Satin.
Fuzzy Handcuffs- Very cool toned peach satin.
Voulez-Vous- Smoky eggplant satin with brown undertones.

 photo TooFacedBoudoirPaletteReview05_zpsf6f543b0.jpg

Classic: Satin Sheets, Sugar Walls, Garter Belt.
Satin Sheets- Fair pink with a strong gold duochrome.
Sugar Walls- Pinky-beige/nude satin with silver micro glitter.
Garter Belt- Warm matte grey wight extremely fine silver shimmer. It doesn’t really come across on the eye.

 photo TooFacedBoudoirPaletteReview06_zpsace95a79.jpg

Fashion: Birthday Suit, Lap Dance, French Tickler.
Birthday Suit- Light shimmery beige toned taupe.
Lap Dance- Purple toned grey shimmer. Looks more purple IRL.
French Tickler- Extremely dark black/brown with gold micro glitter. It says it is black but I definitely see a hint of brown in there.

Like most other Too Faced Eyeshadow palettes you get 9 shades in a variety of finishes. These shades are all meant to be used in different combinations to create a sultry look. I like this combination a ton, it is sexy while still being wearable & neutral while still being interesting. Overall, a very strong palette for me personally. The shades I reach for most are Lap Dance (which I have in another palette & use consistently), Garter Belt because it is just a gorgeous grey, & French Tickler because it is ultra pigmented & just looks beautiful.

You can purchase this palette from Sephora,ULTA, & often wherever Too Faced products are sold.

What do you think of this palette? Is it something you’d reach for? What are your favorite palettes for a sultry eye look?

Glossybox for June 2013 featuring Tarte, SpaRitual, & More!

July 9, 2013 By StephanieLouise 375Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fglossybox-for-june-2013-featuring-tarte.htmlGlossybox+for+June+2013+featuring+Tarte%2C+SpaRitual%2C+%26+More%212013-07-09+14%3A16%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fglossybox-for-june-2013-featuring-tarte-sparitual-more.html

PR Sample. Affiliate Links.

This month Glossybox really delivered! A full size Tarte product? A full size nail polish? Perfume samples I can appreciate? & a hair + body product too? YES! This month the box was also absolutely gorgeous & designed & put together by Dallas Shaw. The box is beautiful, the contents are lovely, & I loved he GlossyMag! Keep reading to see what was inside!

 photo GlossyboxJune2013010_zps89bd63a2.jpg

So the box was lovely with a Dallas Shaw design. I’ll have to find a pretty place to use it! I really liked the card inside as well. It was a bit different, almost like a blog photo layout I’d come up with!

 photo GlossyboxJune2013011_zps8d54613e.jpg
 photo GlossyboxJune2013013_zpsc753388b.jpg

The GlossyMag had her on the cover as well. I try to share my favorite page every month…this month it was this absolutely stunning Oscar de la Renta dress!

 photo GlossyboxJune201301_zps8373fd28.jpg

 photo GlossyboxJune201307_zps10ba7028.jpg

C.Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist- I absolutely love this dry oil! A full size is $8 for 4 fl oz so this is a 1/2 size sample at 2 fl oz. I love dry oils because the absorb right into the skin & this scent, love! It smells like sweet almonds & a tad of honey. I use it on my body but it says you can use it on the face as well! I usually need something a bit richer though!

 photo GlossyboxJune201305_zps397769fe.jpg

Oscar de la Renta Essential Luxuries 6 Sampler- This is how you do fragrance samplers right! I actually enjoy trying new fragrances but one little vial doesn’t quite feel like a luxury sample. 6 of them does! I got 6 different Oscar de la Renta scents in Oriental Lace, Granada, Sargasso, Coralina, Santo Domingo, & Mi Corazon.

 photo GlossyboxJune201306_zps12086f5b.jpg

Philip B. Light-Weight Deep Conditioning Creme Rinse- I haven’t tried this product yet! This is supposed to increase hair’s elasticity & strength. It contains African shea butter, wheat germ, & soy protein. It is cruelty free & says you can use it as a regular conditioner or leave it in for up to 20 minutes.

 photo GlossyboxJune201303_zpsc4259877.jpg

SpaRitual Nail Polish in Shooting Star- I really enjoy SpaRitual nail polishes but they are kind of tough to find. They are naturally formulated, vegan, certified-organic, & made using fair-trade ingredients. I love this shimmery purple!

 photo GlossyboxJune201304_zps7420014f.jpg
 photo GlossyboxJune201308_zps3855cc8a.jpg
 photo GlossyboxJune201309_zps7a650ed7.jpg

Tarte Complexion Enhancing Lipstick- The superstar of this box is a full sized Tarte lip product for me! I received the shade meant for fair-to-light skintones but in the swatches you can see on the right is the shade in medium-to-tan which I also had on hand. This is an ultra creamy lipstick with a glossy tinted core that is supposed to give the appearance of fuller-looking lips.

All in all, definitely a great box! I found some new products that I really love! Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription that brings products straight to your door each month for $21. Please use my referral link so they know I sent you! I love the surprise each month, they are constantly introducing me to favorite brands, new products, & completely new products as well!

Beauty Box 5 for June 2013 featuring Brazen Cosmetics, Aveeno, & More!

July 8, 2013 By StephanieLouise 376Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fbeauty-box-5-for-june-2013-featuring.htmlBeauty+Box+5+for+June+2013+featuring+Brazen+Cosmetics%2C+Aveeno%2C+%26+More%212013-07-08+22%3A07%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fbeauty-box-5-for-june-2013-featuring-brazen-cosmetics-aveeno-more.html

So this is my first Beauty Box 5 in awhile & it is from June. I wanted to make sure I used the products & because I’ve been sick I’ve been super lax with beauty related things. I’m tired ya’ll! I’m finally starting to feel better (which is AMAZING by the way!) so I’m excited to get my pep back & show you what I got! I received some items I already know I love & some new things! Ch-ch-check it out!

 photo BeautyBox5June201302_zps46036f43.jpg photo BeautyBox5June201301_zpsc4477f9e.jpg

Coolway Cool Cleanse Shampoo & Hydrate Conditioner- This brand is new to me but definitely appealed to me because it is hydrating. My hair tends to lean dry even in the summer so I felt like it was meant for me. I’m trying to pinpoint the scent, it smells slightly herbal & lemony? I like it, especially for summer. It isn’t intensely hydrating but it left my hair feeling clean & not dry.

Just Being Sexy Body Bronzer- I got two decent sized foil packets which is decent, the full size is 6oz & retails for $49.00 so I had high expectations. it is rare I splurge that much on bronzing lotions! This hs a nice thin texture, almost gel, packed with bronze shimmer. I wasn’t all that excited upon first glance, it looked really bronze! Instead it ended up looking really subtle-y glowing (I didn’t apply a ton) & it smelled great. If you like kind of even scents, nothing too fruity or floral, I think you’ll like this because it smells kind of like a hair product like shampoo!

Aveeno Protext + Hydrate Sunscreen Lotion- I’m a big Aveeno fan so I was surprised & delighted to see this inside! BB5 tends to show more brands that are harder to find but this was a nice treat! Obviously I try lots of different products but I tend to go for Aveeno when I need some fast SPF on the go. This has an SPF of 30 & doesn’t clash with perfumes.

Brazen Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Commando- This is a pretty shade but I’m still deciding how to wear it. It is really neutral & matte as a base but it also has pinky-purple shimmer. I don’t think I’ll wear it as a brow highlight but I think it’ll be a pretty base shade!

All in all, a very nice box! An eyeshadow, lotion, bronzer, & a shampoo & conditioner duo. Nice variety! Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty subscription service, check it out here! Have you ever subscribed to Beauty Box 5? Interested after seeing this box?

So I’m way late. I took a bit of a break to enjoy the holiday & time off with my husband for the holiday. 4th of July is probably the most special holiday with him so it is really personal. It sounds kind of funny, I doubt most people are the same way! If you know us, my husband is in the Air Force but it really doesn’t have anything to do with that. The 4th of July is the ONLY holiday since we got married that he has been home for EVERY year! Now that is special! Okay, enough mushy stuff, check out this amazing manicure from Shimmer Polish!

 photo ShimmerPolishNailPolishNichole06_zpsd360f2d3.jpg

Shimmer Polish in Nichole- An array of micro irregular silver flecks then small, medium, & large red, blue, silver, & holo hexes suspended in a clear base. Seen here in 2 coats. Swatched over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

 photo ShimmerPolishNailPolishNichole01_zpsb3742ffb.jpg
 photo ShimmerPolishNailPolishNichole03_zps0f4ab559.jpg

I absolutely love this polish! Nichole is so patriotic & really catches the light insanely well for not being packed to the brim with holos. Flashy & screams USA (or UK!) for me without being any work at all! Pretty much effortlessly awesome! This applied nicely & the glitter disbursement was top notch as well.

Do you own any Shimmer Polish shades? You can purchase them here on Etsy, check out their swatches & sales site, & follow them on Facebook to stay up to date!

What did you wear for the 4th of July? I’d love to see it!

Red- Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish in Cherry Drop

White- Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish in Sugar Fix

Blue- Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish in Razzle-berry

This was super easy, I just used my good ol cosmetic sponge to do a bit of a gradient. I think it turned out cute! It reminds me of dipping my fingers in an icee or snow cone which also makes me think of summer 🙂 You can see swatches of all these shades on their own where I reviewed them here.

What are you wearing on your nails for the 4th of July? I’d love to see it!

Radiantly You All Natural & Organic Beauty Products Review

July 1, 2013 By StephanieLouise 381Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fradiantly-you-all-natural-organic.htmlRadiantly+You+All+Natural+%26+Organic+Beauty+Products+Review2013-07-01+17%3A23%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fradiantly-you-all-natural-organic-beauty-products-review.html

When it comes to body products, results are everything. Does it moisturize? Does it do what it is supposed to? Does it come in scents I like? Radiantly You is a company founded by Melissa Brown, a Certified Holistic Health Coach and expectant mother. The items are organic & natural so you can feel good about loading up. I have a variety to share with you today so keep reading to learn more!

About Radiantly You:  Radiantly You was built by Melissa Brown, a work-at-home momma (mother to Noah – 2yrs old, Liam – 10 months old, and future baby girl – due June/July 2013) who followed her heart and her passion. Our company believes strongly in women having the opportunity to stay-at-home with their children WHILE making a fair, reasonable wage and doing something they love – we think every woman should get that option! Behind the scenes, maintaining the handcrafted quality of our products, are wonderful WAHM’s who are doing what they love AND staying home with their children. Feel good knowing that every purchase you make is going to support families across the country that are doing just that – building their own dreams.

I received 4 products to try out & I’ve been doing just that over the past few weeks! I feel like I now have concrete opinions about each product so I’m going to share my thoughts. In the ingredients, the items with a * are certified organic.

 photo RadiantlyYouBodyProducts03_zps48e29a2b.jpg

Radiantly You Amber Vanilla Whipped Body Butter-
Exotic Amber combines with warm Vanilla to make an amazingly scented whipped body butter. You won’t find a better body butter out there – nourish your skin with only the finest ingredients!
Nourishing you with: Unrefined Shea Butter*, Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil*, Amber and Vanilla Fragrance Oil

This is definitely a strange texture for me, it is truly whipped! It even looks a bit fibrous in the container! I’m not usually a big amber fan but this smells warm & inviting, something I’d like more in the fall. It is very softening & blends into the skin nicely!

 photo RadiantlyYouBodyProducts02_zps96266ade.jpg

Radiantly You  Vanilla with Lavender Bud Sugar Scrub-
This Sugar Scrub is just what you need to remove dead skin cells, nourish the new skin and seal in an amazing softness for the day! With a gentle Vanilla fragrance with the tiniest hint of Lavender, it’s the best start or end to a fabulous day! Our scrub isn’t just made with oil either. Every granule is coated in melted glycerin soap – a nourishing way to also cleanse your skin while you exfoliate! Glycerin is an ingredient left out of almost all “store shelf” soap — but it is such an important ingredient when healing the skin! Glycerin acts as a moisture barrier, blocking and sealing in moisture. It also is very healing to people with skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. It even slows the appearance of wrinkles by locking in essential moisture!
Nourishing you with: Cane Sugar, Pomace (Olive Oil), Glycerin, Lavender Bud* and Essential Oils of Vanilla and Lavender

This is a very calming, soothing scrub. I used it on mainly my arms in the bath before bed. It is quite floral with the buds in it, something I didn’t expect. It is kind of crumbly, I prefer something with a bit more oil but it was very nice.

 photo RadiantlyYouBodyProducts01_zps3707fd28.jpg

Radiantly You Natural Herbal Decongestant-
Perfect for year round, this petroleum free, 100% natural vapor salve is safe for the entire family. Great for easing cold/flu symptoms and sinus/respiratory congestion.
To apply: Rub thin layer on chest and/or throat. Even massage into the bottoms of the feet or a dab under the nose. For young children, use on chest and throat. For external use only.
Healing you with: Grapeseed Oil, Local Beeswax, Eucalyptus*, Lavender* and Peppermint* Essential Oils, Vitamin E

This is probably my very favorite product & I’ve been using it every day! I’ve been really sick & congested so this has been a life saver. My favorite part is that unlike some brand name decongestants, this can go directly under my nose. Normally they burn your skin so this is incredibly handy! It is like a thin balm so it will last a long time. This would be great if you have children as well.

Radiantly You Organic Mint Chocolate Lip Balm-
Treat yourself to our AMAZING Organic Mint Chocolate Lip Balm! This lip balm is just the right amount of mint, chocolate and cocoa. Not too soft and not too hard, this balm goes on well and leaves just the right amount of tint (thanks to the organic cocoa).
Nourishing you with: Beeswax*, Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil*, Unrefined Shea Butter*, Local Honey, Cocoa*, Peppermint Essential Oil*

This looks like your average balm, tube & all, but it is definitely a bit different. For one, it smells like a piece of raw mint chocolate. Love it. There is also a slight hint of color. I love organic lip balms because naturally you’re going to ingest something you put on your mouth.

You can purchases these items & many more from https://radiantlyyou.com/

Have you been trying to switch to more natural products? What types of items do you prefer to be more natural or organic?

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01 Swatches & Review

July 1, 2013 By StephanieLouise 3821 Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Flaura-mercier-matte-radiance-baked.htmlLaura+Mercier+Matte+Radiance+Baked+Powder+in+Highlight+01+Swatches+%26+Review2013-07-01+13%3A24%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Flaura-mercier-matte-radiance-baked-powder-in-highlight-01-swatches-review.html

 photo LauraMercierBakedHighlightReview02_zps691066bd.jpg

PR Sample. Affiliate links.

Laura Mercier is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands for face products. Being very fair, it is often hard to find a great match. Recently Laura Mercier debuted their beautiful Matte Radiance Baked Powders. I currently own 2 & am so impressed that I split them up to share. Today, the gorgeous highlight that I just can’t get enough of.

 photo LauraMercierBakedHighlightReview03_zpsbd10f4c7.jpg

From Laura Mercier: An ultra-smooth baked formula that provides natural colour with soft matte radiance to the skin for a “bonne mine” healthy glow. Bronze shades give skin a soft matte finish and a hint of warmth.

 photo LauraMercierBakedHighlightReview01_zps7f93a047.jpg

 photo LauraMercierBakedHighlightReview04_zps398ad592.jpg

So, the description throws me a bit because this definitely isn’t a matte highlight. Instead I find it is a gorgeous slightly peachy champagne shade baked with a gorgeous, buildable glow. You can easily go heavy handed or natural. I love highlighters so it isn’t a surprise this shade speaks to me. Even, absolutely velvet smooth, & will last you ages. For an even, healthy glow this is the perfect choice.

With jojoba oil you might think this doesn’t wear well when in fact it wears wonderfully. Completely even throughout the day & I think it helps with the moisture so that it doesn’t ever look chalky. Very little fallout, not drying, & fragrance free it is a great pick. I can imagine this looking beautiful on any skin tone.

Ipsy Glam Bag for June 2013 featuring NYX, Starlooks, & More!

June 29, 2013 By StephanieLouise 383Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fipsy-glam-bag-for-june-2013-featuring.htmlIpsy+Glam+Bag+for+June+2013+featuring+NYX%2C+Starlooks%2C+%26+More%212013-06-29+20%3A20%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F06%2Fipsy-glam-bag-for-june-2013-featuring-nyx-starlooks-more.html

 photo IpsyJune201301_zpsf48d95b1.jpg

I bought it. Referral links.

When it comes to subscription boxes, Ipsy has majorly impressed me over the past few months. Because I’ve been so sick & sound like a crone, I haven’t been doing videos. Boo. But I did want to share my box with you regardless! Again, another nice one! Keep reading to see what was inside for only $10 a month!

 photo IpsyJune201302_zpsefe90f0b.jpg

 photo IpsyJune201303_zps3db053fc.jpg

For those unfamiliar, for only $10 a month you get a bag full of full sized/sample sized beauty items. You usually get 5 & it always comes in a bag. In the end, you have a lot of bags. But this month, I LOVE it! Neon & animal print? So stinking cute! Perfect for the “On the Wild Side” theme this month as well!

Inside my bag this month:

NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Boho Chic: This is a full sized blush & my first creme from NYX. This is a lovely, natural pink with a slight shimmer. It looks more glowy on the skin though. The consistency is very thin & not all that pigmented because it is a lighter shade. I’ll have to work with this more but I definitely like this as a layering shade.

Psssst! Dry Shampoo: I’ve reviewed this dry shampoo before & am always grateful for a travel size for vacation or for my purse. Great dry shampoo.

Starlooks Lip Pencil in Tipsy: Surprisingly…my favorite item in this months bag! This pencil is a brightened pink toned coral & I just love it! I can see myself wearing this a lot during the summer.

Cailyn Line-Fix Gel Eyeliner in Iron: This is a cool gel liner but for me the packaging is kind of bulky with the built in brush & such. The iron shade is nice but didn’t blow me away. I didn’t like the brush.

J-Cat Sparkling Cream Palette in Suzie: This reminds me a lot of my NYX creme glitter palette but this seems like it has more glitter. These are nice neutral shades & I think they’re fun. I personally love glitz though.

Overall, this wasn’t my favorite bag but it was still a great value. If you’re interested in trying Ipsy out for yourself, please use my referral code! I’d appreciate it! In the end, I’m getting use out of the blush year round, I already like the dry shampoo, & the lipliner is fab. Happy girl!
