Wet n Wild Summer 2013 Limited Edition Pop Art Craze Coloricon Eye Shadow Trio Collection Swatches & Review

July 31, 2013 By StephanieLouise 354Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fwet-n-wild-summer-2013-limited-edition.htmlWet+n+Wild+Summer+2013+Limited+Edition+Pop+Art+Craze+Coloricon+Eye+Shadow+Trio+Collection+Swatches+%26+Review2013-07-31+21%3A45%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fwet-n-wild-summer-2013-limited-edition-pop-art-craze-coloricon-eye-shadow-trio-collection-swatches-review.html

I always run out to buy the Wet n Wild trios. I own all of them from the permanent line & when I saw posts about this new limited edition one I knew I’d be stalking it down. I had to go to 2 different Walgreens to collect them all but for only $2.99 each I didn’t mind. There are 6 trios total, keep reading to see swatches & review of them all!

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection01_zpsd78a0d92.jpg

These trios have a white background & the originals are black. They each come with a sponge applicator & small brush. I used ELF eyelid primer for the swatches below. They’re numbered so I just went from low-high for reference. Check out each trio below, some are matte & some have shimmer. These photos were taken in natural sunlight.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection015_zpsb128ca74.jpg

Your 15 Minutes Aren’t Up!- I like this bright yellow, especially over a white base to make it pop. The purple doesn’t have a lot of pigmentation. It looks pretty matte on the eye though which is nice. The pink shade has mauve tones & is probably my favorite in this trip, nice pigmentation especially for a pink.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection010_zps64cc3313.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection016_zps410756d2.jpg

A Regular at the Factory- The pale shimmery yellow has some glitter in it. It is fine but there. I needed to do a few swipes to get it like the photo above. I like the turquoise, very pretty. The orange shade is a nice, true orange with light shimmer. I wouldn’t have put these 3 shades together but I really love this trio!

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection011_zpsbf6096d8.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection017_zps28284d82.jpg

Hard Being the It Girl- These 3 shades are pretty much matte which is nice. The light pink is nice but the blue is my favorite, nice pigmentation. The creamy shade was powdery for me when I tried to layer it. I’ll probably only use this for highlighting.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection05_zpseca5ca38.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection012_zpsaf193a0f.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection018_zps4d5c101e.jpg

Three’s A Party- I was super excited about this trio, great red! They may look slightly satin but they are pretty much matte in real life. All three shades have very nice pigmentation. The black isn’t the blackest in my collection but it is still quite nice. They are all soft & easy to use as well.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection04_zps57616206.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection013_zpsc5d3d2c1.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection019_zps75c9a44f.jpg

I’m Seeing Triples!- I think this is the most striking trio visually in the packaging. Love this lime so much, great shade. The blue is probably my least favorite, it isn’t all that spectacular. The purple is kind of a pinky grape, very nice! Pretty much a matte trio as well.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection03_zps34f8ff89.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection014_zps691e1052.jpg
 photo WnWColorPopLECollection020_zps1b23bf7c.jpg

To Muse and Carouse- This was the reason i had to go to 2 stores, people snapped this trio up fast & I can see why. In this collection of 6 this is the only one containing more than one neutral. The brown shade is a satin & has really nice pigmentation. I think it is a great shade. The peach & baby blue are pretty & useable. Overall a nice trio with nice texture.

 photo WnWColorPopLECollection025_zps26a878d1.jpg

Overall, nice shade variety. I always love vibrant eyeshadows so I think they delivered that for a reasonable price. This is also mostly a matte collection which is quite a shock, usually Wet n Wild does a lot more shimmer/glitter. Nice change. Wet n Wild shadows are best worn over an eyeshadow primer & I apply them in layers using a patting motion. You have to be really careful not to overblend the matter shades especially. I’m quite happy with my purchase overall!

Which trio do you like the best? Have you found them yet? Which do you find the most unique?

My 2nd RocksBox (Hint: I Love It!)

PR Sample. Referral Links.

If you read my review of my first RocksBox (you can see that post here) then you would know I wasn’t wowed. Nothing was quite my style & it just wasn’t a good fit. I gave my feedback, shipped it all back, & now I have my 2nd box! This is a jewelry rental/lease to buy service. For $19 a month, you get 3 pieces of jewelry from specialty designers. I like the idea because you get to try new pieces & buy them if you wish. They send you a return envelope so if you don’t like it…back they go! Keep reading to see what changed my mind about RocksBox!

 photo Rocksbox2Jewelry02_zps16f81d45.jpg
 photo Rocksbox2Jewelry03_zps92172647.jpg

Like before, my RocksBox came in a nice hard white box with a pink bow. I don’t get too excited since I have to send it back anyway. Something different is that all 3 pieces came in little satchels. I think that’s really smart. They don’t cost much but they help with the presentation & keeping the items neat. The necklaces also had cardboard at the top like you’d hang up in a store. I do definitely wish the earrings came with rubber backs, I never wear earrings without a backing of some kind.

Let’s start with the one piece that I’m just not feeling & work our way to to the one I’m buying pronto.

 photo Rocksbox2Jewelry05_zpsfc5091cc.jpg

Geometry Earrings in Rhodium designed by Lucas Jack
Retail Price: $73.00 Member Price: $58.40
Although these earrings are pretty, they feel overpriced. I see earrings similar often & at a more reasonable price. I wouldn’t be so judgey except that on my information sheet Lucas Jack describes themselves as “value-for-the-money” & “luxurious”. Pass for me.

 photo Rocksbox2Jewelry06_zps9e050d96.jpg

Between the Lines Necklaces in Rhodium and Gold designed by Urban Gem
Retail Price: $56.00 Member Price: $44.80
If I hadn’t received the necklace below, I likely would have bought this one. It is trendy, seasonless, & modern. I like it a lot. I have something in a similar style in gold but this is much more versatile.

 photo Rocksbox2Jewelry04_zps7b8857d4.jpg

Double Crystal Layering Necklace in Emerald designed by Serefina
Retail Price: $85.00 Member Price: $68.00
Why hello beautiful, you’re going to live with me. Forever. It may look a bit pricey but this is 2 separate necklaces. This duo won my heart with the textured chains, high quality clasps, crystal detailing, & overall feel. The gold pieces themselves have a very nice weight to them. I love that the chains are different & different lengths. They are honestly just beautiful & I like wearing them together, separate, & layered with various other pieces.

So if you check out my first box then you know it just wasn’t me. This box was much better! I’d say 2 of of 3 pieces are something like I’d buy. Even the earrings were nice, just not my personal preference. If they had a little something more different about them probably would though! Overall…I think RocksBox redeemed themselves! I’m impressed & very excited to send this box back (they include a prepaid envelope so it is seamless!) for my new box! I’ll be buying one piece though & I’m so happy to do so!

NEW Butter London in Indigo Punk Swatches & Review

Butter London is launching new cosmetics including a few more shades of polish! I have my eye on Jaded Jack (opaque lime green cream) & Brown Sugar (opaque copper shimmer with gold glitter) but today I have Indigo Punk. You’ll be able to purchase these new items including colored mascaras, eyeliners, & lippies from Ulta & butterlondon.com on August 1st. I love this shade & I don’t have anything quite like it! Keep reading to check out swatches!

Butter London Indigo Punk- A combination of indigo extra fine hexes & extra small hexes. 2 coats.

 photo ButterLondonIndigoPunk01_zpsd9c1c229.jpg

I used Seche Vite to really make it shine but this glitter is so fine & small that it really isn’t all that gritty. I love indigo & I’d say this one leans a bit more purple than blue. I absolutely love it & was shocked when it only took 2 coats. Impressive.

Like I said before you’ll be able to snap this baby up August 1st. I think it is definitely a great topper or accent nail. A bit purple…a bit blue…& glittering.
What do you think? Are you an indigo fan as well? What new shades are you looking forward to?

Requested: Forehead Braid

July 30, 2013 By StephanieLouise 357Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Frequested-forehead-braid.htmlRequested%3A+Forehead+Braid2013-07-30+12%3A59%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Frequested-forehead-braid.html

 photo RequestedForeheadBraid05_zpsed7c1c4b.jpg

So awhile back I got what stuck me as a strange request. Sometimes you guys tweet me, facebook, or email me requests/questions. Normally I totally know what to say but this problem threw me for a loop.

“hi I love your blog and had a question. I’m going back to school soon and grew out my bangs. I feel like my forehead looks bigger and was wondering if you had a hairstyle that didn’t pull my hair tight. Thanks!” – Tammi

 photo RequestedForeheadBraid02_zps209506c0.jpg

 photo RequestedForeheadBraid01_zpsbef5efa7.jpg

Personally, I don’t worry about my forehead much. I had bangs as a kid & totally hated them. Too much work when I just want to throw my hair up too! I think in 10 years when I start really noticing my wrinkles I’ll probably try them out but for now, no thanks. However, my mom has always had bangs. I decided to do something that brings the hair forward instead of pulling it taunt. What do you think?

 photo RequestedForeheadBraid03_zps5fea6926.jpg

This is a basic braid that I started behind my ear & pulled hair to the front somewhat loosely. I came upon this by sheer accident so sorry my part isn’t straight! I really tried! I teased my hair a bit to make the difference look more dramatic. I thought it looked nicer & I got several compliments from strangers which is always nice.

Does anyone else have ideas to help Tammi? I’d love to see/hear them! I know how important a good hair day can be!

Soften Your Skin with Suave + Enter to Win!

Sponsored post. PR Sample.

I absolutely love Suave® products. You’ve seen them here before & you’ll be seeing a lot coming up as well! Seriously…they have transformed my hair! Anyway, back on the topic of softening up dry skin! Today I’m sharing two products foolproof for summer skin! I’ve been using Suave Naturals Mango Mandarin Body Wash & Suave Skin Solutions Smoothing Body Lotion with Cocoa Butter & Shea for the perfect one-two punch!
Everyday life can be rough, but Suave® Body Care is helping women everywhere realize that it doesn’t mean they have to be. The brand is teaming up with TV host, author and mom Wendy Williams to encourage everyone to Unlock their Softer Side, from their skincare routines to their mindsets.

 photo SuaveProductsSoftenSkin01_zpsf03491bd.jpg

Starting out with the Suave Natural Body Wash in Mango Mandarin, I’m in love! This definitely beats out other orange based body washes I’ve tried because it doesn’t smell fake at all. Instead, it smells like peeling a fresh orange. All zesty & crisp…yum! Then you get a touch of mango on the end. The combo is wonderfully crisp & energizing. This body wash is enriched with mango & mandarin extracts plus Vitamin E, so it cleans skin without stripping it. I prefer to use this with a pouf in the shower! If this scent isn’t up your alley, then you might like some of my other favorites like Rainforest Fresh, Milk & Honey Splash, & of course, Everlasting Sunshine. You can see my rave about the Suave deodorant in Everlasting Sunshine here with a completely unique scent!

To moisturize my dry skin I’ve been turning to Suave Skin Solutions Smoothing Body Lotion with Cocoa Butter & Shea. I love these types of scents, a bit warm & tropical smelling but not overpowering. I prefer these types of scents in the summer especially because I can layer it with other scents I tend to lean towards for summer. I find perfumes & body sprays with tropical type bases (such as coconut, mango, & lime) blend really nicely! The reason I prefer this body lotion (besides the scent obviously!) is because it is nourishing without being greasy at all. I find I can layer it onto drier areas throughout the day if needed & it leaves my skin soft & smooth.

Basically, Suave has my body care covered. I love that I can find the products locally from multiple retailers as well, so I don’t feel bad about stocking up! Suave fans can find out their softness score, check out Wendy’s tips, & have the chance to win a free product at here.

Enter for the chance win a $100 SpaFinder gift card!  Tell me what Suave product you would use to Unlock Your Softer Side in the comments section below. Don’t forget to Unlock Your Softer Side, and visit Suave on Facebook!

I’ve been working on my Lorac Pro Palette review for what feels like ages! I have had it for about 3-4 months now & wanted a well rounded view. I have a lot of neutral palettes but I got a request to compare it to the Urban Decay original Naked palette & The Balm Nude ‘Tude palette. So since I’ll be posting my Lorac Pro Palette review soon I thought I’d put up this post now! Keep reading for side by side comparisons!
For this post, I’m going to compare each palette to the Lorac Pro palette just in case you’re looking for something specific. Prices are similar, the Urban Decay Naked Palette retails for $50.00 , The Balm Nude ‘Tude Palette retails for $36.00, & the Lorac Pro Palette retails for $42.00. [Read more…]

It Cosmetics Vitality Butter Glosses Review & Swatches

July 26, 2013 By StephanieLouise 360Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fit-cosmetics-vitality-butter-glosses.htmlIt+Cosmetics+Vitality+Butter+Glosses+Review+%26+Swatches2013-07-26+12%3A52%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Fit-cosmetics-vitality-butter-glosses-review-swatches.html

PR Sample.

When it comes to lipglosses, for me comfort is king. It Cosmetics is quickly moving up in my world & I’m reaching for their products more & more. Today I get to show you 2 of their new It Cosmetics Vitality Butter Glosses in Ruby Slippers & Pretty in Pink. Keep reading to see swatches, lip swatches, & my thoughts!
From the It Cosmetics site: Vitality Lip Flush Butter Gloss With Hydrating Anti-Aging Collagen, Peptides, Hylauronic Acid, Plum Oil, Cherry Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil & Antioxidants. Developed to give that long-wear flush of naturally pretty shine of color and the anti-aging hydration of a super-luxe treatment lip gloss serum.

 photo ItCosmeticsButterGlosses01_zps374f37bd.jpg

With all the hydrating ingredients in these glosses I was expecting a lot…which I got back in spades! They are comfortable to wear, easy to apply with a doe foot, & the shimmer doesn’t feel gritty at all. They come packaged in a nice silver box, I love that a swipe of the shade inside appears on the top.

 photo ItCosmeticsButterGlosses03_zps02792efc.jpg

The applicator is a slightly bent doe foot with a well in the middle, similar to the Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquers I reviewed for you awhile back. I love this method of application & I so hope more brands dive in! I prefer not having to dip back into the tube because it usually delivers what I’m looking for in one fluid motion.

 photo ItCosmeticsButterGlosses04_zps73b79f1e.jpg
 photo ItCosmeticsButterGlosses05_zpsfb8aedc3.jpg

The shades I have are Ruby Slippers (left) & Pretty in Pink (right). Swatches are both in sunlight & shade. Check out that beautiful shimmer!

 photo ItCosmeticsButterGlosses7_zps2a027c3a.jpg

It Cosmetics Vitality Butter Gloss in Ruby Slippers is a sheer red with golden shimmer. It leans a bit berry on my lips because of my lip pigmentation.

 photo ItCosmeticsButterGlosses06_zps0c69e697.jpg

It Cosmetics Vitality Butter Gloss in Pretty in Pink is a light pink cream with shimmer. It doesn’t really look shimmery on which I like, it just makes my lips look fuller. Love this shade!

Overall, very happy with these shades! They aren’t going to be super opaque but they are super comfortable to wear. Like I said, comfort is king. I would really like to pick up some more shades! You can purchase these shades from the It Cosmetics website.

Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour in Sexy Review & Swatches

July 25, 2013 By StephanieLouise 361Leave a Commenthttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Flaura-mercier-rouge-nouveau-weightless.htmlLaura+Mercier+Rouge+Nouveau+Weightless+Lip+Colour+in+Sexy+Review+%26+Swatches2013-07-25+20%3A45%3A00StephanieLouisehttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsbeautifulxo.com%2F2013%2F07%2Flaura-mercier-rouge-nouveau-weightless-lip-colour-in-sexy-review-swatches.html

 photo LauraMercierSexyLipstick03_zpsf140c679.jpg

PR Sample. Affiliate links.

This is my first Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour & I am so happy with it. This shade & type of lipstick won’t be for everyone but I think it is brilliant. The line itself is clean, concise, & easy to maneuver as well. Laura Mercier has really impressed me, keep reading to find out why!

From the Laura Mercier site description: Laura re-invents lipstick with this 100% wax-free lip colour that delivers pure, long-lasting breathable colour and comforts with lip-nourishing hydration. The light-as-air formula feels completely weightless on lips. The secret is a unique wax-free base that allows pigments to deliver true custom colour impact. Available in 15 colour-true shades and three unique finishes. Shade names begin with the same letter as their finish, so they are easy to remember (Moi is Matte and Shy is Sheer). Sheer for naturally stained lips. Matte for velvety lips. Crème for luminous, creamy lips.

 photo LauraMercierSexyLipstick01_zps139a4406.jpg

This is a long, thin tube. It has the class Laura Mercier coloring with her name on the side. It is an expensive plastic packaging, nothing flashy. It has a twist up applicator. I personally like this type of lipstick, I find them easy to hold & apply.

 photo LauraMercierSexyLipstick02_zps3bc23c9a.jpg
 photo LauraMercierSexyLipstick04_zps535cd012.jpg

So basically this lipstick is weightless. It pretty much feels like my lips but better. It applies very smooth & comfortable but isn’t slick or heavy. My favorite part is that after a few hours of wear it actually fades off evenly & leaves my lips looking a bit stained…not like my lipstick ran for the hills. I can’t get over how brilliant the Laura Mercier range is named, how simple! Because Sexy starts with an S, obviously it is part of the sheer range of shades. Because this is so comfortable I really want to try one of the matte shades, I’d imagine they’d be the most comfortable mattes ever!

With some back & forth swatches on the left you can see the color built up & on the right you can view it as sheer. This lipstick definitely as sheer as I was expecting but I love it. Normally sheer shades are really glossy, like a lip balm, but this one is more of a comfortable satin. This is a rosy red shade & I think it might be the most versatile red shade I own. Period.

 photo LauraMercierSexyLipstick05_zps8a0dc807.jpg

Here is how I normally wear it, I like it a bit more sheer. It gives me a flush of color & looks almost like a stain. I think it is really pretty against my fair skin, a tinge of Snow White if you will!

So there you have it! Definitely not what I was expecting but a wonderful surprise instead! I definitely want to try other shades in this line, I think I want to check out Mink & Coy next! I think another beautiful sheer in this line would probably be Sin… it looks ravishing!

You can purchase Laura Mercier products from their site, Nordstrom, Sephora, & wherever Laura Mercier products are sold.

Nails: Lush Lacquer Summer Lovin Swatches & Review

After reviewing Lush Lacquer in Clowning Around & seriously struggling to wear any other polish like ever again…I just had to go for round 2! This is Lush Lacquer in Summer Lovin. Inspired by summer & the famous movie Grease this polish screams summer fun! Keep reading to see swatches & my thoughts!

 photo LushLacquerSummerLovinNailPolishSwatches02_zps75df52db.jpg

From Lush Lacquer’s Etsy description: It has a pink jelly base with a mixture of neon glitters…we packed this polish with neon pink, orange, yellow and blue matte glitters. We also added medium size pink matte glitters for contrast.

 photo LushLacquerSummerLovinNailPolishSwatches04_zps9dc40804.jpg

 photo LushLacquerSummerLovinNailPolishSwatches05_zps3d1b8a20.jpg
 photo LushLacquerSummerLovinNailPolishSwatches01_zps3d98a3f2.jpg

I’m a little confused because my polish definitely look orange? I wore it here over a white base to make it pop since my nails had some staining. I see orange though…do you? Either way, gorgeous polish! I think I’ll put this on my toes next, it is just so bright & fun! This is 2 thin coats. I think I’ll wear it on its own next time or maybe layer it over pink?

Do you have an Lush Lacquer polishes? I’d love to see what you think to add it to my list!

Oh man, Zoya blew my mind. Seriously. I was planning to share these in a few days but I positively cannot wait. They are just too stunning to keep a secret! I am absolutely blown away…these shades are ridiculously necessary. Whether you prefer them with top coat or dig the textured feel this is a solid collection of Fall perfection shades. Keep reading to see swatches & review!

None of these photos are edited except for cropping, watermarking, & slight glitter removal off one of my fingers. My bad. I just wanted you to be able to see how crazy vibrant these are! Fall…I’m officially ready for you! (Well…at least my nails are!) The first shot is in the shade & the second is in the sun. No top coat was used so you can see the textured finish. I went ahead & italicized the Zoya descriptions for each shade for reference & put my description below.

Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish in Tomoko can be best described as a romantic champagne silver with a matte, textured, sparkling metal finish.
Zoya Tomoko- Shimmering matte champagne. 2 coats. A it leans a bit more yellow on me since I’m so ultra fair & cool toned. Perfect work shade & it glitters like crazy! Seriously just try it in sunlight for yourself!

Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish in Dhara can be best described as a firey orange copper with a matte, textured, sparkling metal finish.
Zoya Dhara- Shimmering matte orange with golden/copper gleams that looks like fire. 2 coats. It reminds me a lot of Zoya Amy from the summer Zoya collection. I find it leans more orange than copper on me but it is still lovely nonetheless.

Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish in Arabella can be best described as a rich fuchsia pink in a matte, textured, sparkling finish.
Zoya Arabella- Shimmering matte vibrant berry toned fuchsia. 2 coats. This is a really gorgeous shade for fall & almost appears to glow.

Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish in Sunshine can be best described as a “Van Gogh” navy blue in a matte, textured, sparkling finish.
Zoya Sunshine- Shimmering matte striking denim blue with silver glitter. 1 coat. Seriously one coat! This is an ultra strange name for fall & for it to be a blue…but I still love the color!

Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish in Chita can be best described as a forest green in a matte, textured, sparkling finish.
Zoya Chita- Shimmering matte hunter green with super pale gold glitter/shimmer. 1 coat. Yes…two one coaters! I love this shade so much, I’m such a sucker for greens. This one is crazy pretty in the sunlight as well.

Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish in Carter can be best described as a royal purple in a matte, textured, sparkling metal finish.
Zoya Carter- Shimmering matte regal purple with purple glitter. 2 coats. Can you guess why this one polish gets an extra photo? Puuuurple! I love you Carter! This is just incredibly dazzling & fantastical. I thought it was going to need 3+ coats because the first coat was pretty sheer but 2 coats did it!

How beautiful is this collection? I made the image above for you to pin or share if you want to show it as well. I am so impressed overall & so far Zoya has definitely come out with my favorite textured shades & formula. I mean…some of these were one coaters! Can you believe that? You can purchase these shades & other Zoya products from Zoya.com. I’d appreciate it if you use my share the love link!

Which shades are your favorites? I think mine have to be Carter (obviously…), Chita, & Sunshine. But honestly…they’re all so beautiful you pretty much need them all. I’d love to hear what you think in the comments! Till next time! XO
